Our favorites during this takeaway/pandemic time (purely because of personal pref) are: - Green curry with chicken (nice thick curry with a lot of veggies and meat) - Pad kee Mao with chicken (I order it medium, has the perfect kick) - Spicy basil chicken (super affordable "COVID meal") And, like the others have mentioned, during this pandemic period they offer a free pad Thai for all orders over $25 pre-tax. My family and I have been supporting small businesses during this time and were excited to discover this Monora Thai on yelp. We made our order through yelp and picked it up, brought it home, and discovered that they forgot the add on rice that comes with the pad kra pow. Not a big deal -- except it is! How can you eat spicy basil chicken without rice? It was salty and overpowering on its own. Taking a look at the receipt, it is clear that no one crossed out rice yet, but I guess someone still managed to package the incomplete order. Needless to say, we were too hungry and too lazy to go back and request it. We also didn't have rice prepared at home so that made for a disappointment. The hainan chicken was descent when paired with the sauce. However, I've tasted much juicier flavorful steamed chicken elsewhere. The tom yum soup was great, though all around. This is my second time ordering from here and both times have been great. Thai food is my go to for eating out so I've tried many places in the surrounding area and Monora is now one of my favorites! Called in to place an order and they suggested ordering online through Yelp because they are offering a free chicken pad Thai with any $25 order. Chicken pad Thai: dry and tasteless noodles were broken with dry over cooked pieces of chicken Beef salad: steak was over cooked and rubbery. The tom kha was less tangy than most places, but the spice and flavors were on point. The pad Thai was pretty standard but tasty. The only thing is if you plan to eat there because of covid they only have like three tables available so plan to go at least 45 min earlier than you want to actually be seated. The only reason I am taking off a star is because the woman who took my order was a bit rude. I mean yes I am GF. Usually people who are know that things will not have soy sauce. Get the pad Thai!!!! I am very skeptical about trying new Thai places. I usually only get paid Thai because it's my favorite and it's how I determine if the place is good or not. My cousin brought me here to try the Khao Soi since it's not offered at most Thai restaurants - and it did not disappoint. It was my first time having this dish and I loved it! The noodles were perfect, and the crispy noodles on top added a nice texture. And the broth reminded me kind of like a yellow curry. I got the mild spice level which was hardly spicy at all - might go for medium next time. And I got the beef version, and the meat was incredibly tender. The portion is very generous too. I ate maybe two thirds of it and took the rest home for lunch. Already can't wait to come back and have it again. The service was great too, and the prices are very reasonable. I came here on a late Saturday afternoon at 2pm and found that there wasn't much of a wait. As I understand it, this place is typically busy during the weekend lunch hours, so I was happy to beat the rush. Vegetarians and vegans - this place can make most dishes to accommodate your needs, and include tofu instead of meat as your protein. Their large menu is readily available online and you can find the options to be your typical northern Thai cuisine. Inside, you'll find a very simple set up of tables and chairs. Decor is here nor there, so this place lends more to the dish than it does to your visual sense. Vegetarian egg rolls - they coming piping hot and are excellent. Do try them if you like a little appetizer and consider splitting them in half to decrease the cooling time. Panang curry - a go to favorite of mine, this dish was excellent in it's simple presentation. More importantly, the restaurant had a good split between the amount of curry paste and coconut milk in this dish, which is good because you got a good slither of flavor without too much watery cream over rice. I think this is a safe option, but consider those who cannot handle spice too opt out for something else like a soup. This dish is simple, where you eat it over rice (brown or white, your choice). I think Monora is great in that service was rather fast, although we did have to flag them down after payment for to-go boxes. I would certainly come back, because the wait time was next to nothing, servings were rather ample, and dishes came out quickly. This will certainly be another Cerritos favorite, if it isn't already. read more
