    Smallish but cozy
    Tammy W.

Used to order from here frequently during the pandemic and hadn't been inside- until today. The food is still really delicious, fresh-and priced well, including lunch specials on the weekend .Additionally the service is excellent and there's no wait on the weekend which is a huge plus when you're hungry and don't want to wait. It's a no-frills restaurant and there's a lot of competition around, but if you're in the mood for Thai, be sure to eat here.

I really enjoy this spot! The inside is clean and spacious, and the food is very tasty. The lady who helps us is always very nice, friendly, and patient. I have tried the Mongolian beef, the pad see ew, and the shrimp wraps. The Mongolian beef has good flavor, and the pad see ew is very yum! We got it with chicken and shrimp and it was really good. You could get it with other different proteins as well. And the shrimp wraps were so good! Not what I expected, but very tasty and I love the crunch!!

Went on a Tuesday night and only one other family was there. Food came out SO fast. We got the pad see ew, drunken noodles, and pineapple fried rice. The food was good, but not great. Nothing in particular stood out. I was sad you couldn't custom the spice level on the pad see ew- we were offered for it to be tossed in their spicy sauce but I just decided to have it on the side. Even the Thai tea was just okay- wish it was stronger, it was too milky for my preference. However, you really get a lot of food for the price! And service was great.

I love Monora Thai! It's been a staple in my family as we've been going here regularly for 12 years now. I even go here to celebrate my birthday! We also like to take family and friends here when eating out. The service is always friendly and attentive, and I don't have to worry about waiting for the food to arrive for too long. I always get the 605 Fwy Noodles (Kua Gai) every time. I can't find any noodles just as good anywhere else.

I met a friend who works nearby in Cerritos and she always asks me to choose the restaurant and I like trying new (to me) places as I am always on the hunt to find those "hidden gems". There wasn't a lunch crowd on this Thursday as we patronized this place at 11:30am til around 1:15pm. Service was excellent by the only wait person on staff and the food was delicious (we both ordered chicken pad thai and crab rangoons). Now, these are lunch specials which came with an egg roll and they were big portions (I took half of mine home and enjoyed later). Parking is plentiful but congested as it shares many spaces with other businesses in the strip mall where it is located. Would definitely come back when I am in the area and craving Thai cuisine.

Stopped by Monora Thai for some late lunch! We got the Pad Thai (added chicken) & the Tom Kha Soup with shrimp, both hit the spot! The Pad Thai was on the saucier side more so sweet, but still really tasty' If you like your noodles bold & flavorful, you'll probably enjoy it. The grilled shrimp was a nice add-on too! The Tom Kha Soup was warm, coconut-milky, & super comforting. The kind of dish that just makes you feel cozy. The chicken was nice & tender too! Overall, a nice little Thai spot if you're in the area. The inside kinda needs some upgrading but food is good! Service was alright as well but not TOO special.

We've been coming to Monora Thai for a long time, and after a long break, we stopped by again last weekend when a Khao Soi craving hit. It's one of the few places nearby that offers it, and their version is still good--rich, flavorful, and big enough to share. We also ordered the Sticky Rice with Mango for dessert, which was the perfect ending to our meal. Service was friendly, but they do seem understaffed. While the overall experience wasn't mind-blowing, it's a dependable spot when you're in the area and want comforting Thai food.

I really love their food. We placed an online order because it was raining heavily, but we still preferred to go to the restaurant and pick it up--I wanted to see the place and take a few pictures. If you go there, you'll definitely find a nice place to sit; the rain was the only reason for us. The food was amazing, and they were very accommodating with our order. I don't eat non-veg, but they customized the dish exactly the way I asked. They also have good vegetarian options, which worked perfectly for me. If you're into Thai food, I'd definitely recommend visiting this place--it was really good.

Spicy eggplant chicken - not spicy at all and lacked flavor
    Ronny T.

Thai food that's a little different than the standard fare. We had 3 dishes of which 2 were really good and 1 not so much. We loved the soupless noodles and the fried trout with papaya salad. The spicy basil eggplant chicken lacked flavor. They actually got our order wrong on this initially so I'm wondering if they forgot key ingredients in making this up. It wasn't very busy on a Sunday night so I hope they do well enough to make it.

I really enjoy the food here and Monora Thai. I've ordered from here on uber eats plenty of times before but I decided to go here for lunch with my sister and were pleasantly impressed. They have lunch specials everyday starting at 11am. I ordered Pad See Eww and she ordered the Pad Thai both were $11.95 which was an absolute bargain! The pad see eww was delicious! It was tasty and flavorful! I like that they used the authentic Chinese Broccoli which is the correct version! I tried my sister's pad Thai and it was delicious as well! Both lunch special comes with a veggie egg roll and wonton crisp with dipping sauce. The service was great, our server was nice and helpful. Ambiance was nice, lots of seating and table. We will definitely come back here for more lunch special dates.

My friends and I found this little gem by accident. We were in the neighborhood and decided to give this place a try. We walked in without a reservation and were seated right away, even though our entire party wasn't there. It's a small restaurant and I can tell that they get busy, so I really appreciated how patient they were as we waited for the rest of our party to arrive. Service was great - they were very attentive and our food arrived quickly! Not to mention, the pricing was worth it with the quality and amount of food that we were given. I highly recommend the Beef Boat Noodle if you're craving something comforting. The shrimp fried rice and wontons are also really good. They also have lunch specials, which I plan on coming in for one of these days.

We love this place! The Spicy Seafood Soup (32 OZ.) was really good. It fed my family of five. We arrived on a Sunday as soon as they open their doors and we were greeted by their friendly staff. I had never ate much Thai food in the past, but the server was very patient and answered all my questions. Overall food was all amazing, including the Thai tea my daughter loved

Had a delicious family meal here with no wait on a weekend afternoon. The star of the meal was the green curry with chicken, spices were on point and the sauce was so flavorful and creamy. The papaya salad and grilled chicken were also good, I loved the crying tiger sauce on the side and used it for everything.

We were immediately sat when we arrived around 6pm but most tables were filled. Service was good and the food arrived pretty fast! We ordered the tom yum gai, crab fried rice, pad thai, and calamari. The tom yum gai is perfect for someone with a scratchy throat from allergies because it cleared them up! It had a good amount of sourness to it. Calamari was perfectly crispy and not too chewy. Crab fried rice was abundant so we needed 2 to go boxes. Pad Thai was delicious. Definitely a place where you should share your dishes with friends and family or be prepared to take to go boxes because of the amount that's on the plate. I'd definitely come back!

Thai Original BBQ, Cerritos -- I am awash with nostalgia whenever I visit the Artesia/Cerritos area…read more-- home to a vibrant Filipino community, and where I lived on-and-off for nearly a decade. It's here that I welcomed the familiar comfort foods from home, and I'm in one of my favorite restaurants: Thai Original BBQ. Its name says Thai, but over time its food has evolved to skew subtly toward a Filipino palate that balances sweet, sour, salty, umami flavors, with a mild level of spice. I wondered: how far has it veered off Thai Town's flavor baseline? Entering the place is like getting into a time capsule -- its décor is exactly the same as when I first ate here 41 years ago. The long saltwater aquarium is still there, as are the same red vinyl cushioned booths. But the carpeting is noticeably threadbare, and the starched white table linens are long gone, revealing washed-out Formica. Thai Original BBQ is known for its single-plate meals featuring proteins and vegetables over sweetish rice stir-fried in Nam Prik Pao, resulting in its orange color. Tonight's dinner was our time-tested reliables: the Combination Soup, Satay Dinner, and Chicken Ruby Dinner. The combination soup was served in a fire pot. Its comforting stock is translucent, with no visible scum - packed with umami from the fish sauce and heaped with pieces of chicken, pork, shrimp, and vegetables. So comforting, even on a warm night! The satay dinner consists of eight skewers of thinly sliced flank steak, grilled to perfection, with a sweet-spicy and creamy peanut dipping sauce. And the Chicken Ruby dinner was impressive -- a whole Cornish hen, stuffed with a sausage made from a mixture of pork, rice, and glass noodles, then deep-fried whole. This delectable dish will make the "Colonel" tap out. These dishes are how I remember them -- and they bring back so many fond memories of family get-togethers. Eating here turns every meal into a mindful event. My wife and I hardly spoke to each other while eating - it wasn't being rude at all. The silence came from a quiet joy -- from something familiar, from something comforting. Thai Original BBQ did not veer as far from what we've always welcomed as Thai as I had wondered. In many ways, Thai food is similar to Filipino food: a balance of sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and spicy elements. Fish sauce is foundational to both cuisines, providing saltiness and umami, while coconut juice, palm sugar, and tamarind bring sweetness and sourness. Thai Original BBQ is really a taste of home. Five stars -- no asterisk, no hesitation.

I've been coming to this location for the past 4 years and have tried many different dishes but my go-to dishes are the Yellow Curry and Garlic Pepper Chicken. I asked for the cream on the side and they gave it to me in Dixie sample cup the size of quarter. I ordered the spicy basil pork with no bell peppers and to substitute carrots instead. She came back and said it would be an additional $2.00 charge for carrots. I said, it is a vegetable, yes? She said, "do you want it or not?" Hmmmm, I said "sure"... and then mumbled, "but it's coming out of your tip." And they charge extra for steamed rice which should come with the meal ($3.00) Then I asked for a little side of sweet and sour sauce and she said... "that will be $2.00..." I shit you not. The tip will be zero. Food wasn't even that good. AVOID. ----------------------------- THIS IS IN RESPONSE TO OWNERS REPLY: Ok, let's be real... I'll give you the full review which I was holding back and being nice.... First of all, carrots are WAY cheaper than bell peppers (BY A MILE), so why am I paying two dollars to swap them in? If anything, It should be less, not more!!! That $6.50 Thai iced tea was a full glass of ice with maybe an inch of tea on top. For real. That's a cheap ass tactic and you know it. LAME. The cream came in a dentist office medicine cup the size of a quarter. After learning that the carrots were going to cost me an extra $2, I figured more cream would probably set me back a few bucks as well so I passed on asking for more. Every single other Thai restaurant experience I've ever had in my lifetime of eating out has been to hand over a little sweet and sour sauce without charging two bucks for it. I'm not asking for a glass full. It's a small little sample FFS. $2.00???? Really??? Are you that hard up?? You must be because there was only one other table eating there. And three dollars for rice that should come with the dish? That's not policy, that's called greed. Yes, I finished my dish... not out of enjoyment, but out of sheer hunger. The dish was swimming in liquid and I ordered a 4 out of 5 spice level and it felt like a 2. Sorry, your business model sucks. $30 for lunch? Screw that. That was a $15 meal that you charged double for. You'll be out of business in no time.

Lol it's located in a plaza, so there's plenty of parking! They start karaoke around 7p and it was a fun time lol. The food is sooo flavorful and depending on who makes the Lao style papaya salad (my favorite), it can be on the fishier and more pungent side. But their papaya salad was pretty balanced. Lao style is generally more sour, spicy, and pungent whereas Thai style tends to be sweeter and lighter tasting. Arrived just in time to see Morocco beating Netherlands in penalty kicks during Round of 32 FIFA World Cup. We got many of the popular dishes: Pad Thai with shrimp Panangq red curry with sliced pork (it was spicy already with request for mild) Baby corn with mushrooms plus chicken Glass noodle soup with lots of vegetables and sliced pork. Chicken satay skewers with peanut dipping sauce Papaya salad with shrimp also spicy and refreshing Thai iced tea came in a carafe Ended with mango sticky rice dessert. Lively atmosphere especially with the match on TV. Attentive service considering it was pretty busy for the night. Plentiful parking spaces.
