If you are thinking of going here - don't. I find it really hard to believe both of these cracks existed prior to me bringing my car here to put on just two tires. As they held air just fine - just needed replaced because of wear. Even if they were cracked prior -- why wasn't I informed? I mean the tech put a balance weight about 6 inches away on one of them -- how do you not see that? Made it about 10 mins down the road before TPMS went off. I limp it home and they had impacted the lug bolts so hard my 250 ft/lbs nut busting impact wrench was no match. (Torque spec is 89 ft/lbs. Had to find someone with an air impact wrench to get them off. Imagine if I wanted to put on the spare... Avoid if you care about your safety. After leaving this review on Google - a response from the "owner" was posted and mentioned to call 1 (800) 297-9886 and hit option 2... well that's their HR department, it continues to ask about direct deposit, payroll issues, if I need to report an ethics issue - ya know, internal HR stuff. Guest services is option 6 when calling that number - however none of the options past that get you anywhere. So I worked my way to tech support and asked to be transferred to the appropriate dept. They obliged but I was sent to the same menu I got when hitting option 6 which was a dead end as before. Reading other reviews I found an alternative number (1 (800) 876-6676) which seemed more promising as option 2 was guest services when calling that one. The phone rings longer and you have the option to wait or have them call you back. Waiting eventually ends in silence with no one answering and using the option to have them call you back hasn't yielded a call back yet.... The level of incompetence is baffling it's almost impressive. read more

Looked online for tires that I needed to replace on truck. Online doesn't specify whether or not they have them in stock. So I attempted to call the shop. Monroe no longer has a direct line to their shop, and goes through a 3rd party contact. I went ahead and scheduled an appointment so I would be on the list. Upon scheduling it's sends and email confirming the appointment. However, on that confirmation it states to contact the brand to verify tires are in stock before coming in.... So again I called, and again it took me to the third party call line, in which they "transferred me to the store manager". However after 3 failed attempts of the manager not answering me, an hour after the first call and still no return phone calls I decided to cancel my appointment since they couldn't verify by any means that tires were on hand". I really wanted this to be my place as I was welcomed warmly and made to feel very comfortable. I recently changed jobs and moved, leaving behind my beloved automotive repair friends (I love you Rightway Auto!), forcing me to find a new place for oil changes, etc. I actually tried Belle Tire first, but I couldn't make an online appointment. The staff at Monro were very friendly and helpful. The process was no issue. They had me in and out quickly. It wasn't until I was headed down the road that I noticed that my tire pressures were still very low. It has been very cold and they were low with the warning light on. I didn't specifically mention that I needed them inflated, but the website mentioned a tire rotation was included with the oil change and I assume that pressures would have been checked. Upon further inspection, my oil life hadn't been reset. So, my car didn't know it had an oil change. Previous reviews indicate that they questioned even getting an oil change and of course, my mind immediately went there. I Google'd how to reset it and just took care of it myself. I'm certain that the tires weren't rotated and; therefore, I feel it's likely that none of the other service checks were done. I have to assume that they actually changed my oil and that these things were just inadvertently overlooked in the hustle and bustle of life. They did get me in and out on my lunch hour and, as I said, were very welcoming and kind. read more

The employees have been nothing but helpful and courteous. They've worked quickly on both my car and my wife's car and we haven't had any problems since. Is it a little pricey? Probably, but that's going to be anywhere nowadays. One of the workers actually took me out to the bay and showed me what was wrong with my car, which I've never experienced anywhere! read more

I don't like leaving bad reviews but this one really annoyed me. Last week the manager told me he could do my tires for me. So I went and bought tires and brought my tires in to get done. Later in the day I come to pick up my truck and the guy at the front desk proceeds to complain about how difficult my tires were to change and that really he should've charge me double for it and proceeded to complain some more about them. Don't tell a customer you can do a job and then complain to them about it after. Won't be returning back to this place for business. read more

For only having a couple of guys working in there, these guys are second to none. Had a brake job done there today and they were honest with me and even told me I could wait on back brakes if I wanted to do that. I decided to get them all around and am glad I did. Before I pen this review I have to warn you this is probably going to be the longest review I have written to date. Background is I'm in the military so I travel a lot. I was on my return trip from Missouri rolling in my usually bullet proof (not literally) 04 Infiniti. While driving through Indiana I noticed my air conditioner stopped working and all of a sudden my temp gauge jumped to "H" pretty quickly. I pulled over immediately and looked under the hood and noticed my serpentine belt had come off and most of it was wrapped around the fan. Not a good sign. Called road side assistance and got towed to the nearest shop in Greenfield, In. So further background this is on a Tuesday after Labor Day at 2p. No way I'm going to get my car fixed and back on the road today to finish my trip. In my mind I'm thinking these guys are going to see my out of town plates and poor predicament and rank me over the coals. So I call the shop and give them a heads up I'm coming and ask the possibility. Jim who answered the phone said to come in and we will see. I knew then I would be hosed but what choice do I have. Well they happen to have 1 technician and Jim in the shop on a day after a holiday. Not a good sign knowing they close at 7 and I still have a 10hr drive left. They finally get my car on the lift around 4. Jim and the technician diagnosed the problem quickly noting the idler pulley failed. He was also astute enough to know he had to find the bolt which usually comes off or it would be more expensive to replace the assembly as well as the part. They found it. He called around to find the part but this late in the day it was not easy. No one had the part so he called the dealership and they ordered it but it wouldn't be in until tomorrow. And to add to it the dealership doesn't deliver the parts. Here is where it gets good. Jim said he is off tomorrow but he will go by there early in the morning to pick it up and drop it off tomorrow. He also said he would take me to a nearby hotel so I could spend the night. Job m told the technician that he was going to take me to the hotel so if the phone rings just let it ring! What? Are you serious? Wow I couldn't believe it. He gave me a quote of the repair and said have a good night and your car should be ready in the morning. As promised my car was ready in the morning as quoted and a fair price. Both him and the technician were professional and courteous beyond what they had to be. I usually get my service at the Infiniti dealership and those guys are good but have a few things to learn here from these guys. They treated me like I was a family member. I will never forget this. If these guys had a tip jar I would have tipped them! I can't tell you how grateful I am to have had such a great experience in a very difficult moment. This is how businesses like this succeed! Provide great service and people will support you! If I'm ever in Greenfield, IN and need my car serviced I'm going to find Jim. This guy is my hero! What's the end game? I'm not likely to be a repeat customer so why was he going out of his way to help me? Just pure good hearted help. With all that's going on in the world it is good to see it still exists! read more

Great service. They usually get our vehicles in and out same day. I had to take my truck back there one time because it was making a funny noise when I got it back. They apologized and promptly fixed it with no extra charge. Saturday we had to take my husband's truck in and they had to order a part so it wasn't finished until today (Monday. They are closed Sundays) They apologized for it taking so long. They are always friendly and remember you when you go back to pick your vehicle up. They will keep our business as long as we live here! read more

I have the Carvana extended warranty that covers oil change they are listed as mechanics that does it I called five days in Advance to see what I need to bring in. I explaining that had the warranty that covers oil changes for the whole time of the warranty and they said I didn't need to bring anything just need to make an appointment went to the appointment got off work early just for them to tell me know I need a piece of paper which they told me I didn't need to bring anything that I made sure they told me they just have to call Carvana in make the claim. I ask that question before I made an appointment will not go back to not make any more appointments will not spend any money or going back. P.S. I had the actual warranty coverage listing of the whole coverage on my phone showed them my phone with the number they had to call. I called the number when I got home and the agent said the only thing that it was call the number to start the claim. read more

If I didn't have to give at least one star I wouldn't give them that. I took my car in for a new steering rack since the power steering was out. I left the car to be evaluated on Saturday and was given a $800 to $900 estimate. Probably finished by Monday evening I was told. Problem after problem & the next Thursday evening they were finally finished. The bill was almost $1200. When I went to leave I discovered the power brakes no longer worked. They said it was like that when they got it. It was not. They would of course fix it but the part alone was probably $400 or $500 & I could leave it there so they could "fix" it. It also now won't even idle smoothly. It stutters & sounds like it's about to die. It is in worse shape than when I brought it in. Save your money & time. Go somewhere else. read more

Walked in for an oil change and tire rotation on a Monday morning and they fit me right in. Very friendly staff BUT they lied to me. They said they rotated my tires but did NOT. I have different tires on the back then I do on the front so it obvious. I called and stopped back by. The manager told me it happens when he's not around. Don't recommend. read more

We had my husband's truck at the center by 8:30a on Saturday. At 4:00p, my husband (G) still hadn't heard from them as to what exactly the problem was, so he called them. G suspected a broken brake line. They said they'd tried to call that morning, but there is no record on G's cell phone of a call from them. They then told him both brake lines, back brakes and rotors needed replaced to the tune $1200+. G can replace rotors and brakes so he only approved the brake lines be replaced. The bill was over $800 with $600 being labor alone. Also, when we went to pick up his truck Monday evening, they told him it would be another 1/2 hour for it to be ready. Then they said they needed to get another tool to finish the job and his truck wouldn't be ready until Tuesday. If one of your specialties is brakes, wouldn't you know up front if you have the right tools to do the job? Isn't $600 in labor a little much? Just something to think about if you consider going to the Greenfield, IN location. We won't ever again. read more

After being pleased with the customer service received at Monroe Muffler Brake & Tire on previous occasions, it only took one bad experience to vow to never do business with them again. After getting a quote for tires a week in advance on my daughters car we took it in for work to be done. We were told by manager Jim Curry it would be hour & half to two hours to complete all work. Two minutes after we left we see a tech driving car to check things out. About 45 minutes later I get a call telling me all this other work needs done on front end to do alignment. Getting this info I decided doing tires would be wasteful, yet miraculously the tires had been changed and old tires had been disposed of. All this was done in under an hour. My problem is all this work was done and I was then notified of all the work that needed done after the fact. My daughter is now out over $500 for tires that unless she gets $1600 of work done on front end to keep from destroying tires. Monroe never once offered and type of discount or satisfaction. They simply kept saying we only did what you ask us to do, change tires, which they did, for the last time for our family and hopefully anyone that listens. read more
