I ordered the Pork Banh Mi Pancake and absolutely loved it -- such a creative fusion between Vietnamese flavors and fluffy pancakes. Very unique and tasty! My wife ordered the Lemon Curd and Blueberry Pancake, and after trying a bite, I can say it was incredible as well. The combination of sweet and tangy flavors worked perfectly together. For drinks, I had the Custard Espresso with a double shot, which was rich, smooth, and perfectly balanced. My wife enjoyed the Sweet Potato Cappuccino, which was unique and delicious. I was also planning to try the Pork Belly Bite and Double Egg Yolks, but unfortunately they were not available that day. Hopefully next time! What really made the experience stand out was the service. Our waitress went above and beyond and truly took care of us throughout the meal. In a city full of places chasing trends, this spot feels genuinely intentional. Every dish feels like it exists because someone truly cared about balancing flavor, texture, comfort, and creativity instead of just making something flashy for social media. What impressed me most was how fearless the menu is. You can feel the fusion influence throughout the experience without it ever feeling forced. The kitchen clearly understands restraint and execution, which is harder than people realize. Even the smallest details feel considered. And honestly, the fact that they're serving burgers and pancakes at night on weekends is genius. It sounds simple until you realize how rare it is for a restaurant to execute comfort food at that level late at night without sacrificing quality. Somehow they make it feel elevated and indulgent while still warm and approachable. It gives the place this amazing personality where you can have a creative brunch experience, then come back later for one of the most satisfying late-night meals in Kendall. The owner deserves a huge amount of credit too. You constantly see him moving through the restaurant, checking on guests, asking for feedback, and making sure everyone feels taken care of. That kind of hands-on hospitality is becoming rare, and it completely changes the energy of a place. You can tell this restaurant means something personal to him, and that passion reaches every table. There's a reason they've been recognized for having some of the best pancakes in the country. After eating there, it makes perfect sense. The pancakes are ridiculously thoughtful in both flavor and texture, somehow nostalgic and innovative at the same time. Places like this are what make Miami's food scene special. Not just because the food is great, but because there's genuine heart behind it. Try the pork belly, bahn mi pancakes, cheesecake pancakes, hangover pancakes, and chicken thigh high pancakes. All are hits, and dont forget their creative coffees.

It sets the tone perfectly for a meal that turns out to be just as memorable. We ordered the smoked ribs and smoked wings, and both delivered big flavor. The ribs stole the show for me -- tender, smoky, and exactly what you hope for when you order them. The wings followed suit, juicy with that deep, slow-smoked richness. But the unexpected star of the entire meal? The homemade pita chips. Served warm with a fish dip, the chips were so good they didn't even need the dip. Perfectly seasoned, crisp on the outside, soft on the inside -- I caught myself eating them plain and completely forgetting the dip existed. They were that addictive. We even ordered a bag to take home. Service matched the food. The staff was attentive without hovering, and the chef personally stopping by each table to check in was a classy, top‑notch touch that made the experience feel personal. Overall, this place blends charm, flavor, and hospitality in a way that sticks with you long after you leave.

Looked on yelp for a nearby place to get Ramen and saw wonderful reviews for KOW. And so I ventured over. Looking unassuming from the outside in a strip mall, this is a really nice place for a quiet and wonderful meal. I was struck how it was not just Ramen, but a variety of different cuisines on one menu. I really wanted to try them all, but stuck with Ramen as that is what I was looking for on that particular evening. It did not disappoint. People have described it as the best Ramen in the area and I will not argue that point. I will, however, say that the portion was on a small side and I was still hungry afterwards. This is the only reason for the missing star. The flavor was excellent. The protein and added dumplings were all perfect. The broth was delicious. The servive was outstanding. The ambience was comfortable and truly enjoyable to have a nice conversation with my dining companion. I found the menu a bit overwhelming, but I will go back to try some of the other things as I looked around the table and people are eating a variety of different foods and by foods I mean food types as the offerings are so diverse. Prices are a bit on the high side, but my first impression is that the value is there to command those prices because the food is superb. Potentially a five star restaurant...stay tuned.

Well better late than never I guess and boy where we glad we decided to to check them out. Truthfully we were watching Food Channel earlier this week and saw Guy Fieri's special on their restaurant which really peaked our interest, so first chance we had we headed on over. Upon arriving we were seated pretty quickly and after some conversations with our server, who happened to be one of the owners we made some selections and were on our way. On this occasion we opted for the Smoked Tuna Bruschetta, the Pork Belly Sandwich, the Short Rib Sandwich and the Sweet Potato Fries. I can honestly say that everything was absolutely delicious, fresh and actually made to order. What!!! That is correct all was made to order and you can taste it in every bite. Based on our experience I think I can go out on a limb here and say that I am pretty sure that everything else on the menu is probably just as delicious as well. We also tried the homemade frozen lemonade which was freshly made and tasty as well. Although we did not have any desserts, I can share that those are home made as well by the owners. Although we did not have desserts, the owner gave us a piece of their carrot walnut cake on the house, which was completely unexpected and very nice of them. Now they are located in a strip mall in West Kendall, in a very unassuming strip mall but no worries as their is plenty of parking available and a few other eateries that looked pretty interesting as well. Overall, we had a great experience and the service they provided was excellent as well. Highly recommend that you pay them a visit and check them out as I do not think you will be disappointed. If you can't make it out to them, then DoorDash or UBER Eats may be an option for you. Either way you really have try them out. We will certainly be back for more as we really had a great time and our chat with the owners made it even better. Enjoy and Bon Appétit m'es amis!

Ally's comfort Café has been a staple in Northwest Davie forever. *Now, Ally, moved away a little while ago and new owners took over. They kept the same recipes which made us hopeful that things would pretty much remain the same. But little by little all of the staff that had been there for years started leaving. I think there's only a couple of the longtime staff left. We'll get back to the staff in a moment. My wife and I go to Ally's every Saturday morning. We go there have a great breakfast and then go to the Publix next-door to do our weekly shopping. There's obviously going to be hiccups when new owners take over a restaurant. We totally understand this. But some things are just not improving. They open at 8 AM on Saturdays. But, between 8 and 9 AM there's only one waitress and one bus boy this didn't always used to be the case. They used to have the full staff and someone at the door to take names. He would also help out by getting you drinks or more coffee if you needed it. It worked really well for the small family restaurant. The new owners took over and at some point they decided they only needed limited staff between 8 and 9 AM on Saturdays. And of course, every Saturday my wife and I go in there. It gets packed and the waitress is running around like her head is cut off and the busboy is overwhelmed. This isn't a one time thing it has been constant since they made the staffing change. It's completely unfair to the waitress and busboy and it's also a complete turn off to patrons who have to wait sometimes up to 10 or 15 minutes just for the poor waitress to come and take their order this morning. A couple waited 20 minutes before their order was taken. Also, the owner/manager doesn't get there until almost 9 herself, which means there's no management in the restaurant to help with the register or put out "fires." It. Is. Not. Working. Ally's has been known for their specials for years. They always have amazing special pancakes and special French toast. It's one of the main reasons we still go there. It's our little weekly treat. Lately the specials have been very monotonous. Some sort of jelly put on some French toast or some sort of cream put on a pancake. Not real imaginative for instance, today was banana cream and chocolate pancakes. It was a dollop of banana cream on a chocolate pancake that had little taste. One could've added some fresh bananas, or maybe some whipped cream on top of that. Meanwhile, the special pancakes and special French toast are often made wrong by the staff. This happened this morning. It took them twice to get the pancakes right and three times to get the French toast, right. Again, this is not a one time occur occurrence. We never complain. But we were surprised to still see those items on the bill and not discounted at all, but that's OK. The thing that really drove me to write this review, is that I waited for more than 10 minutes to speak to the owner/manager on our way out. I thought the best way to handle our dissatisfaction would be to speak to her personally. She disappeared into the kitchen, and even after the waitress went to tell her we were waiting to speak with her, she was nowhere to be found. No I understand things come up in the kitchen, but she could've at least came out and said hey I know you're here, I'm dealing with a problem, I'll be right back. But we waited and waited and waited and nothing despite all of the above, that's what irked me the most. I will say this. The food is still very good. And the waitresses and buses are amazing. None of this is their fault. They should all be paid more in dealing with a kitchen that can't get right and an owner that can't seem to figure out good customer service. We will certainly give them another chance, it's part of our routine. But after biting my tongue, I had to let everyone know what was happening at one of our favorite spots in Broward County.

The lovely hostess guided us to a booth by a window. We were greeted by our equally lovely server Jazmin (sp?). Btw, she rocks! Upon perusing the lunch menu we jumped at the deviled eggs appetizer. These beauties were two beet stained eggs cut in half topped with a spicy yolk filling and garnished with scallions, chicken skin crunch and trout roe. OH MY! My dear friend and dining companion was leaning towards a salad but we put on our thinking caps and decided that the fried chicken entree, which was accompanied by two sides and a biscuit was the best bang for our taste buds. And indeed it was. She ordered two pieces with greens and mac + cheese while I chose three pieces (thinking ahead to lunch tomorrow) plus the mac chz plus sweet potato soufflé (that was Thanksgiving babe!). The chicken was fresh out of the fryer and we had nothing but praise for the sides. To top it off...Nanner Puddin'! Just like mom made but no Jello pudding here. Amazing. Since it was a weekday, we got to meet the chef and give kudos. (He's a happy dude) I wouldn't care to come here on the weekend when it's packed but I can see why folks do. The place is enormous with a huge outside venue and a sprawling banyan tree. Plus the Sunday brunch menu is tempting. But for a chill lunch with nice employees and scrumptious food on a Thursday, we were star struck and satisfied.

I loved the aesthetic --…read morethe green and gold decor was really pretty, and surprisingly it wasn't too packed for a Sunday around 4:45 PM. I also really liked how spacious the restaurant felt. They have both indoor and outdoor seating, plus a cute outdoor bar area with stools where you can eat and hang out, which gave the place a really nice vibe. The music was a great mix of R&B and oldies too. Now let's talk service... for me, service is everything, and unfortunately that's what made this experience disappointing. Our waitress, Haley, was pretty inattentive throughout the meal. We asked for extra Caesar dressing and never got it, and it was honestly hard to get a hold of her most of the time. Because of that alone, I'd probably think twice before coming back. As for the food -- it was hit or miss. We started with the wings as an appetizer. They were flavorful, but nothing memorable. I'd probably skip them next time and try something else. I ordered the crispy Cobb salad because it sounded amazing on the menu, but it was a letdown. It was mostly lettuce with barely any chicken, and I had to mix the whole salad myself. At a restaurant, I kind of expect a Cobb salad to come already tossed together. Also... no blue cheese available? Come on now lol. My boyfriend got the fried chicken with sweet potato fries and mac & cheese. I will say, everything came out HOT, so you can tell the food is made fresh. The mac & cheese didn't look impressive at first, but it tasted SO good. The sweet potato fries were delicious too. My sister ordered the lobster pasta, and honestly the portion size shocked me in the best way. They were generous with the lobster, which almost never happens, and she loved it. My daughter got the crispy chicken sandwich and said it was the best sandwich she's ever had, so that was definitely a win. Overall, the food itself wasn't bad at all -- my salad was just a flop. If the service had been better, this review probably would've been very different. Not sure if I'd come back, but maybe on a different day with a different server.
