Romantic spot for a date night. There are few restaurants that are more intimate and pleasant to be in. This restaurant is run by a family, and there's always bonus points for family restaurants in my book. The menu is small, which I like, because I'm guessing these are the family's tried-and-true recipes that they've tested and perfected over time. We wanted to try everything on the menu, but we settled for (still a lot of food for two people) the yellow curry rice bowl, the pho, the lettuce wraps, and mango sticky rice. The star of the show to me was the pho. It was brought out with an assortment of sauces. Not being a huge pho fan normally, I asked the waitress what which sauces she recommended adding. She said "I like doing all of them!" And I blindly followed her and added all three to my pho after taking only one bite of the original. DO NOT REPEAT MY MISTAKE! The pho broth is perfection on its own. Again, I'm not a pho expert, but I'm a salt and flavor lover, so it means at least a little something when I say a broth by itself is perfect. Just give it at least 3 good bites before you start meddling with the sauces! The yellow curry rice bowl tasted fresh, with lots of veggies, good texture to everything. Not as good as the pho though. The lettuce wraps were my 2nd favorite thing. Excellent flavor, and again, extra sauce was not needed! Lastly, the mango sticky rice. So yummy! My husband and I each got our own, but it is intended to be shared. We just love fresh mango sticky rice. I'm cutting a star because, while I appreciate and see the purpose in a small menu, I wish there were a couple more enticing options in the list. It took me a few minutes to settle on what I wanted because nothing jumped out to me. Service was slow. But again, family business. Family working their butts off. So I get it. And last - try to get a spot that's deep inside the restaurant! You will be very cold if you're near the drafty door of this historic Fort St. building. I'm looking forward to going back and getting a 2nd chance with my bowl of pho! read more

Cute little home made into a restaurant. Not much seating inside but seating on the porch out front. Nice on a warmer day. We came on a nice summer day. Staff was very friendly and helpful. A friend suggested this place for a girls night dinner. It's in a cute older house and I don't the AC works so it was a little warm but let's talk food. My friend and I shared the wedge and the Bohn Mi sandwich. Both were delicious! One friend got the fried rice and enjoyed it and another friend got the sloppy chicken and said it was great. The service was good. This seems to be a family run business and the chef came out a few times to make sure we were enjoying our food and to chat a little bit. For dessert we shared the mango sticky rice and it was some of the best I've had. All in all we really liked our food a lot. Good quality and much of it is locally sourced. I finally visited this place and it was pretty good. The bahmi is on an actual baguette, so it's extra crispy haha the texture of the meat was definitely different fro the other Vietnamese sandwiches I've had, it was more like slices of pork.
