We had 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms that were decorated really nice. The cottage was also stocked with everything you could possibly need. The grounds were also super beautiful with trees, flowers, and a large spacious grass area with different sitting areas where you could sit, relax and have a glass of wine.

They're co-op apts., some of which are owned and occupied by their owners, and then others that are managed for guests from season through the end of October. When trying to find a place in the Hamptons that had a pool and easy access to the beach for a reasonable rate, a friend of mine recommended Ocean Dunes. It's exactly what I was looking for. Beautiful lush property, heated pool with plenty of warm towels, and best of all, a gorgeous private stretch of beach 5 min. walk from the rooms. Our room was lovely, too, just like a little beach home away from home, with seaside decor, a kitchen, king bed, and private patio out back. You can hear the waves from your room! Staying here afforded my boyfriend and me a few days of peaceful bliss. I love it here and want to come back ASAP! *Tip: Check TripAdvisor for a coupon you can mention when you book your room. I did and got 20% off the nightly room rate!

We called the restaurant to either move our reservation to another day or cancel it, and were told that only the manager could assist us. However, we were told the manager was unavailable because he was busy speaking with regulars at a table. I asked if we could simply be placed on hold until he was available so we could find a solution. We were told no. Instead, the employee said they would "leave a note" and that someone would call us back if they were able to help. Meanwhile, we were told that if the reservation was canceled, we would be charged a $135 cancellation fee -- despite the fact that we were actively trying to work with the restaurant to either reschedule or resolve the situation. The experience became even more unacceptable when the employee eventually hung up on us and then stopped answering our calls. The restaurant only answered after American Express contacted them on our behalf. To be clear, I have no issue with a restaurant having a cancellation policy. What I have an issue with is the way this situation was handled: being told the manager was "too busy" to speak with us, being refused the simple courtesy of being placed on hold, having our calls screened, and ultimately being hung up on. That is an embarrassing level of customer service for an establishment of this caliber. I genuinely hope someone in management -- above the person working the restaurant that evening -- takes this seriously and addresses this behavior. A cancellation policy is one thing; treating a customer with this level of disrespect is another.

Comfort Matters: Full-Size Bed Ruined Our Sleep…read more We were assigned Unit 1022, and while the surroundings were beautiful and the property itself was great, we didn't realize until the first night that the unit had a full-size bed instead of the queen-size bed we expected. We were also instructed to look for a lock box for late arrival, but couldn't find one. When we went to the office, the representative was helpful and provided a key since they were open until 11pm. The bed size became a major issue throughout our stay. My husband is 6'3", and there wasn't enough space for both of us to sleep comfortably, with his feet hanging off the bed. As a result, he had to sleep on the couch every night, which significantly affected our experience. Aside from the sleeping arrangements, everything else was wonderful. However, the bed configuration should be clearly disclosed or improved, as it greatly impacts comfort for couples.

Okay, people don't travel to watch TV, but you just want things to work and to relax, and constantly calling the staff to fix the TV and having them in your room failing to fix the TV is not relaxing. Make sure major items in the rooms are working, or have spares and replace them. Period. This place was then too cheap to offer real recompense and gave my family member some awful ski cap that probably cost about 30 cents. Just unacceptable at this price point.
