Christo's has always had great food. I haven't been in a few years. What a difference! I ordered a burger with $2 dollar substituted onion rings, that were burnt and cold with the batter falling off. The burger was equal to a frozen Bubba burger ... cooked all the way through. All condiments on the bottom of the bun. Awful. read more

Having to walk through the smoke of two obnoxious drunk 40 something men to get into the place should have been our first clue to run. Inside, we sat ourselves, as the waitress was disinterested and talking to the regulars. She would have just tossed us our food if she could have. Useless. Place is Loud, I mean ear piercing loud. regulars with zero respect for anyone else trying to grab a bite and talk. Cafeteria atmosphere, complete with uncomfortable stools, and cobwebs. Took a good 45 torturous minutes to get our food, which is the only reason for the star. Traveling from Boston - Logan to Cape Cod looking for a good lunch spot and found this small local Italian restaurant and bar. Party of four and we each ordered a different pizza. All were excellent with great crust and loaded with fresh meats, cheese and veggies. Perfect amount of sauce to compliment, not overwhelm, the pizza. Good selection of beers and other drinks. The service was ok. The food took forever to get out in a dining room with one other patron. We ordered the shrimp scampi that the patron had because it looked so good. They should be ashamed of themselves for calling What we received, shrimp Scampi. It was a bowl of spaghetti with 6 shrimp drenched in oil, way too much pepper, not enough salt and chunks of garlic from a jar. Also, it's obvious the regulars get special treatment here. read more

Rarely am motivated to write reviews but since I have started relying on them when I am in a new area, I have to vote. Didn't have much time before a music show on a Saturday and several other restaurants had long waits, we stopped in for a quick dinner. No one greeted us and we finally had to ask whether we could choose our table in mostly empty room. I thought they said yes but then decided to hustle us into corner beneath keno display. Basic menu but took a long time to get food and it was quite unremarkable. Felt like we were missing the insiders club password to receive decent service and food! Love Montes. A lot of people come in here expecting something upscale, it's not but that's what makes it work. If you want that go down the street a little bit. The dining room is seat yourself and it can get loud when full but just talk louder! The bar side is a little retro but its totally part of this place's charm. If you are looking for a laid back place with good food and strong drinks this is the right place. Their pizza is the best in Manomet and any one of the club sandwiches is amazing. Onion rings are the best around as well! Burgers are hangover heaven, you know what they look like then. For all the time I've lived in Manomet I've never had their breakfast but have heard nothing but good things! Best part is all the food is super affordable. If you're visiting the area, spent a day on the beach getting burnt and want to go get a nice cold drink in a t shirt, flip flops and shorts then go where the locals go! Go to Montes! read more

3 stars is generous for the service I got there. A whopping 45-minute wait for the baked stuffed shrimp I ordered - at around 4 PM! They claimed that they were slammed with takeout orders, but (a) I'm not sure how slammed they'd really be at 4 in the afternoon and (b) if you're running a restaurant, that shouldn't matter. I saw order upon order come out before mine. After I asked, the bartender took one of my two drinks off my tab. When I did finally get my food - which I'd come for hoping/expecting to get something quick for the hour-long trip home - it was good, but nothing to write home about. Didn't even come with a vegetable - just rice. BUT, on the plus side, the company (the other folks there) made it a fun time, despite the ridiculous wait. I sat at the bar and watched the news with a crowd of old-school locals - funny, jovial, cool, nice, and welcoming. One older gentleman came up to me as he was leaving and said, "You made a good impression. Please come back," before shuffling out on his cane. Truthfully, one of the nicest compliments I've ever gotten. I'd go back and give the place another try - I realize mistakes happen (although many establishments would likely comp the whole meal, or at least both the drinks). But all entrees should come with at least one vegetable free of charge, and no one should have to wait 45 minutes for something on a restaurant's menu at 4 in the afternoon. read more

Had dinner at MC's last night. Food was very good. Wait staff was very friendly and efficient. Don't go here on a Wednesday night. They have a large group of "regulars" who come every Wednesday and the kitchen has not figured out how to serve them and not impact other diners. We waited an hour for veal parmigiana! My husband had the surf and turf; the steak was melt in your mouth good, but the shrimp was over cooked. Onion rings are fresh made and delicious. Known for their pizza. Do recommend the place, but just not on Wednesday, or do take out. read more

I dont get some of these reviews. I have had hundreds of pizzas at Montes Christos. I have never had a bad pizza. Actully thats why i get their pizza i know what i going to get everytime. I've never felt more unwelcomed in my life. Before we even entered, a woman smoking outside made sure to rudely tell us to "not take her table". We went in, ordered a drink and grabbed a seat. The ratings on this place were fair to good, so we were suprised. There is a bar side and a restaurant side, both we completely empty for a Sunday night. One large, open room with many tables, wood walls that would echo horribly if it were busy, and one blonde, friendly waitress. The menu I was handed was covered in goo, bad start. We were not feeling up to par, asked how was the lasagne (no one is going to tell you its horrible) but she went off on a description of the cottage cheese texture of lasagne that made her ill in more detail than anyone would ever want to hear. It seems like it's been years between the times I've been here, used to get pizza there all the time as a child and then I've tried to go when I was in the area as an adult.. The pizza was always excellent, from childhood to adulthood and I believe last time I went there a large pizza was still only eight dollars! The ambience is just like an old-school New England pizza joint, cigarette smell and Namco games.
