The jerk chicken nachos - huge portion and great flavors!
    Phyllis M.

Such a fun spot! We came on a weeknight and it was not crazy but bustling! Honestly we'll have to come back to try more, but the food we did have was delish! Service was great, friendly and efficient! Our two kiddos ordered kids meals, which were fine and what they would want (cheeseburger sliders and mac and cheese). Hubby and I shared some cheese curds, which were yum! Sometimes restaurants do the heavy breading, but these were light and crispy and stringy! Exactly what you'd want! For dinner we did tacos (and by that I mean my husband got them). He did a trio - grilled mahi mahi, jerk chicken and jerk pulled pork. I only managed to get a bite of the grilled fish taco, and it was tasty and flavorful! I was having a hard time choosing, and ended up getting the jerk chicken nachos. These were the largest plate of nachos I've ever seen! And I loved them! Lots of different toppings made for great bites, plus loved the white queso! So delish! We'll be back to try more! Their menu is super fun with a lot of Caribbean influenced dishes!

Stopped in for a early dinner, the staff were very kind! The food was good and everyone enjoyed their meal! The floor is very sticky and felt like the menus were as well, minor things but made it feel a little dirty. Would come back for causal cocktails.

When in Excelsior you have to eat here! We stopped here because my good friend is the cook. This place is great, the beer is local and the food is out of this world! We started with the Caribbean Egg Rolls, so delicious and the house made honey dipping sauce I'd put on anything!! We then had 2 tacos: jerk chicken and jerk pulled pork, so much flavor! For our main dishes we had the labor inducer burger and the jerk chicken sandwich. So much wonderful food, I cannot wait to come back and try so many other things! Definitely a place to check out, this place will be around for a while.

This restaurant is modern, clean and really makes you feel like you are somewhere tropical. The menu is large and a lot of items sounded good. I went with the shrimp curry bowl and it was very flavorful and well composed! For cocktails, I tried both a pomegranate and a raspberry mojito and they are both mediocre; the pomegranate was better than the raspberry because the raspberry tasted very artificial. All-in-all the drinks are very over priced, $12 for mediocre is not good. I'll come back to try more food but will skip the cocktails.

We are always looking for spots to eat in Excelsior, so we were excited to try something new! Parking can be hit or miss, as there is primarily street parking nearby! The space itself is definitely an upgrade from the dark and drabby previous establishment occupying the space. Walls are lined with tropical wallpaper, Jimmy Buffet was playing over the speakers, and plenty of natural light flooded the space. My only comment was that the tables and chairs are all just kind of skewed around the open room. I think it would greatly benefit from some built-in booths, and some organization/order to their table line-up. Our server was super friendly, attentive, and on-time throughout our stay. The menu has a lot of options, including true American bar food but also tropical-inspired cuisine. There were a few different things that sounded yummy, but I decided on the Labor Inducer burger. It was perfect! Juicy, flavorful, and appropriately cooked. The fries were substantial and perfectly paired with their island dipping sauce. Excited to come back and try more! Newer establishment, still working out their groove, but definitely worth checking out for some casual, yet tasty food in Excelsior!

Burger that no one could finish

Safe to say no one cleared their plate, and we ate a clear plate type of family. However ambiance was pretty. Food was just simply not good.

chicken, shrimp, pork, beef tacos - AMAZING!

Great food and atmosphere. Loved the shrimp curry bowl and coco bread. Catered to our kids as well. Will be back!

The Burger Monarchy: A Paradox of Plenty in Miesville In the…read morequiet, pastoral stretches outside Eagan, there exists a roadside institution that defies the modern trend of curated minimalism. King's Place in Miesville is a relic of a different era, a burger joint that functions less like a restaurant and more like a high-volume assembly line of Americana. The menu is not merely large; it is an overwhelming, multi-page manifesto of beef. With roughly 80 to 100 variations on the burger--many named in tribute to the local Miesville Mudhens baseball team--the experience begins with a bout of genuine decision paralysis. For the average diner, the sheer volume of choices feels like a dare. It is a place where you can find almost any topping imaginable, which makes the absence of a simple fried mushroom all the more jarring. It is the one note the kitchen fails to hit in an otherwise exhaustive symphony. When the food does arrive, the logistics are the primary entertainment. The floor staff at King's Place perform a nightly feat of athletic grace, weaving through the crowded, character-filled dining room while balancing five or more burger trays at a time. It is a spectacle of efficiency that puts the sterile, automated nature of modern chains to shame. However, one must navigate the side dishes with a discerning eye. While the temptation to "upgrade" is always present, the seasoned waffle fries are an investment that yields little return; they are best skipped in favor of the standard fare. The real value here lies in the core product and the refreshing lack of pretension. Despite the fame and the daunting menu, the pricing remains stubbornly reasonable, a rare feat for an establishment that has transitioned from a local secret to a regional landmark. "Life is too short to miss out on the beautiful things like a double cheeseburger." -- Channing Tatum For those seeking the predictable polish of a franchise, King's Place will be a confusing sensory overload. But for the traveler who values soul, speed, and a price point that respects the wallet, this is a kingdom worth visiting--just don't expect to find a fried mushroom on your plate. When I go to new cities, I typically seek out food that is specific to the region and thus a little more interesting to me. You can get a burger anywhere, and a cheese filled patty, aka a "Juicy Lucy", didn't sound like something I needed to try. But my husband kept talking about it and really seemed bent on having one so we decided to come here to try it out. We showed up during their happy hour, from 4-5pm, and they had $5 draft beers. Score! It's a cute place with ample seating, nice natural light from the large windows, and a relaxed atmosphere. I ordered the Juicy Lucy, a burger patty stuffed with cheese and topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, pickles, and pub sauce. I chose the Impossible patty version, but you can also get it with their house made black bean burger. Hubby chose the Garlic Girl, a black bean cheeseburger topped with bacon (also made in-house), berbere aioli, lettuce, and pickled onion. Each burger came with fries. Both burgers were spectacular and delicious in their own way. The bacon on hubby's burger was incredible, and his burger was rich and satisfying. By my Juicy Lucy, oh my... Every bite was a flavor explosion and intensely delicious without being a gut bomb shockingly. To top it off, the fries were super crispy and just perfect. WOW is all I can say. Note that while the prices may seem a little higher than what you might expect, Francis Burger is a no tipping establishment, as stated on their menu. For the quality of the food and the great service, it was well worth the price! I'll be back if I'm ever in this area again.f
