Average diner with okay food but a great staff and service. Welcomed very kindly as I entered. The wait staff were very nice and kind and kept checking in. Food was decent for a diner. Home fries needs some real seasoning. It was very bland. Coffee was actually good for a diner. Ambience was a bit lackluster. Not sure of the dining area but the breakfast bar area was a bit bland.

Classic Diner decor and they serve alcohol. Seated promptly and order taken in good timing. I had a Chicken and spinach panini with mozzarella and red roasted peppers which was hugh! It came with a good sized portion of crispy fries. Delicious!

Shake Hands With Breakfast: Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese on a Roll Extra Ham, Let's ROCK!!

I only had a few minutes to grab something to shove in My face and was in this area so I decided to stop by and order a breakfast sandwich to-go and I'm glad I did because it was amazingly delicious and filling. Can't ever go wrong with a Taylor Ham, Egg and Cheese on a Roll with extra Meat added, "they" say that breakfast is the most important meal of the day and I'm not really sure who "they" are but "they" definitely know what "they're" talking about. Now years ago I also remember stopping in here a few times long before this app even existed or at least long before I knew Yelp existed I should say, but whatever I'm here now and that's all that really matters.   Anyway getting back to the Montville Diner I've always liked this spot and I seriously have to make it a regular stop whenever I'm over this way. Who knows maybe next time I'll have some extra time on my hands and grab a sit down style meal. Come And Get Your Munch On!!

    Disco Fries

This diner is a great place for a late night snack. I came here with a large party of 8 after the Montville Fireworks and the staff were very accommodating. The diner is very big with many seats. I ordered disco fries because I wasn't too hungry. The portions they give a very big-- I was not able to finish my disco fries and needed help from my friends. The disco fries was covered in Mozzarella cheese and gravy at the bottom. It was very delicious, but can get a bit too salty to eat after a while. I would definitely recommend ordering disco fries as a side to share.

Broiled Scrod, yummy here. Sides came on a separate plate

It's a little house and then they have a few tables outside... With great umbrellas! It started to rain while we were there and we were totally covered by the umbrella. I wish the zucchini omelette had shredded zucchini instead of chunks. But the home fries were very tasty, the coffee was good old diner style coffee, and Orlando was a super server. Definitely would come here again if I need to meet folks for breakfast in this area.

Walked in before 10, was given a friendly greeting and had a cup of coffee in my hand in less than a minute. Great coffee. I find extremely strong brews overwhelm the subtleties of coffee (I imagine that puts me in a small minority, but I know what I like). Honey's coffee was great. Choosing from a couple of dozen enticing choices wasn't easy; I went with a Mexican omelette. Served with pretty good home fries and very lightly buttered rye toast, I couldn't finish it. Little by little the small space with about a dozen and a half tables slowly filled up, yet I was never rushed. The second cup of coffee was s good as the first, and it was topped off by another friendly waitress (love teamwork). The place did get quite loud, but the sounds of happy people enjoying great food is one of the joys of life. A small parking lot abuts the restaurant. I intend to go back and I highly recommend it.

The staff I encountered were friendly & patient, which is shockingly not the norm these days! I ordered the tuna melt & fries & took a seat at the counter. I was the only one sitting along the counter, but there are also a few tables in the back that had parties at them. My food was ready relatively quickly & was served to me with a smile. The fries were of the steak cut variety, which aren't my favorite, but no fault of the delis - just my personal preference. They were cooked well & served hot - can't ask for much more! The tuna melt was actually a sandwich & not an open faced sandwich, as they tend to be, and I found that to be a pleasant surprise. Open faced tend to get soggy quickly. The tuna was aplenty & it was delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted & buttery as well. I do wish it was served with a pickle spear, though. Not sure if that's the norm & mine was forgotten or if it is not served as such. Either way, I'm obviously grasping at straws. Otherwise, it was a delightful lunch. I'm happy to have discovered The Cutting Board & even happier they are in the immediate area of my job, I will definitely be back to try more.
