    They have to go items!

We decided to stop in here for breakfast based on a recommendation from a friend (bottomless mimosas for Brunch!) and we were all so glad we did. It has a nice "old world" New Orleans feel with excellent service. (This restaurant should not be confused with Antione's Restaurant on St. Louis Street as this place is on Royal Street.) Speaking of service, we had Shaune as our server and she was amazing! She was very diligent in providing the mimosas and waters as well as explaining various dishes based on our questions. She even went to see the chef to get an answer to my question as to the makeup of the sauce on my Andouille & Eggs breakfast. (It's a combination of the juices from the Andouille sausage with the cheddar cheese mixture! Fantastic!) The food was very good based on comments from everyone at the table. As mentioned above, the Andouille & Eggs is highly recommended. It comes with two baked eggs (I never had baked eggs before; they were like egg pancakes), combined with sausage, tomato and cheddar cheese. I choose my entree with hash browns, but you can also choose grits or fruit. One friend had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo Pasta, and she was impressed with how light the alfredo sauce was. Another friend selected the Shrimp Po-Boy and did it come with PLENTY of fried shrimp! We were all happy and satisfied with our selections! One more comment on the "Bottomless Mimosas Brunch". You can obtain it with any entree purchase of $20. You can also choose Bottomless Bloody Marys for the same deal. I asked for a third mimosa after we finished our meals, and Shaune told us you even get a bottomless mimosa to go to enjoy on the streets of New Orleans! I could not have been happier! I highly recommend this restaurant.

Thank you Sandra for an outstanding experience at Rue Royale Antoine! Sandra was very attentive to our needs, she gave us great recommendations and we couldn't be happier. We got a series of drinks and appetizers that were fresh, made to order, and unique to NOLA. While the restaurant was loud and crowded, this is a part of the Bourbon Street experience and we loved the beautiful architecture and decor. Thank you, we will be back!

The gumbo was amazing. Very fast service. We sat by the window and that was a lot of fun, great location

Wonderful service!! Our server, Jacob, was so friendly, personable, and quick! He caught an order gone wrong before it left the kitchen and kept our bottomless mimosas moving! The space itself is cute and open-air, which is great for a sunny day. Food itself hit just the spot and made for a nice breakfast in a great location.

My enormous shrimp po boy- delicious!!!

There weren't many Yelp reviews for this place but the menu looked awesome and it was right next to our hotel so my wife said, "let's go for it!" I was glad we did. Service was outstanding right from the start, super friendly and helpful. Great ambiance and clean restrooms. Everything was going great until the food arrived and it went from great to insane. My wife devoured her omelette and my gumbo was as good as I've ever had. My shrimp po boy was enormous and delicious - the amount of seafood in that sandwich was impressive and it was delicious. They even got me a "beer to go" - I love New Orleans!!!! This restaurant was a real unknown for us but it turned out to be fantastic. Would return in a heartbeat.

The egg rolls have great flavor but doesn't compare to the Boudin Balls I've previously had. I would say they're kid friendly. I liked the red beans and rice but everyone else didn't care for this batch. The shrimp were large and seasoned well as i didn't eat the bread. Someone else ordered the Philly poboy. We preferred the gumbo, which was very flavorful. The jambalaya was a little dry for our preference and the rice and beans lacked flavor. My dad got the gator bites which were also really good! We also appreciated the options they had for vegetarians - my mom got the veggie burger and sweet potato fries and enjoyed both. She also had a shellfish allergy and they took great care regarding cross contamination.

Our server were great, personable and had an extensive knowledge of the menu, which is always appreciated because so many things on the menu sounded great and I only have one stomach. There was a minor hiccup with our food, which took a very long time to come out as the server and manager had come out to tell us that our food had been delivered to the wrong table, including the steak that we ordered for the table. Everything else up to that point had been great and we were given two small plates of spicy ground shrimp with noodles as an apology, which was good. I think the food just takes a long time in general because it took a while for us to get our appetizers in general but to be honest, we were chatting and I had a glass of Pinot so I wasn't really clock watching but you can tell (and taste) that the food is made well. I really enjoyed the smoked tuna dip. I don't know why I thought it was going to come out hot but it came out cold and the saltine crackers made it. I loved every bite of it. The fried bread was SO GOOD. It tasted like I was eating pizza dough? Can't explain it but it was delicious. The one meh small plate I had was the fish sticks. The sauce was good but the batter didn't have any flavor to me. Fish was cooked well so no concerns there. The ribeye for the table was amazing and so tender! Definitely a highlight for us. All in all, I would return. For the fried bread and rib eye alone.

As soon as they arrived, I picked one up and immediately thought, "Wow, this is incredibly light." Anyone who eats crabs regularly knows that's usually a bad sign. When I opened it, it was completely hollow inside--nothing but an empty shell. A crab that is hollow like that was dead before it was cooked. I never took a single bite. I showed it to our server, Remy B., who apologized and said she would let the manager know. She took the plate away, so I assumed the issue was being handled. When the bill arrived, I was still charged for the crabs. I asked to speak with a manager and explained exactly what happened. She confirmed that I had notified the server and that the plate had been taken away. Then she told me that it didn't matter because their policy is to not give refunds or remove food from a check. Let that sink in: they acknowledged that I didn't eat the food, acknowledged that the server removed it, and still charged me for it. A restaurant standing behind its food is the bare minimum. Charging customers for food that was clearly unacceptable and never eaten is ridiculous. The lack of concern from management was even more disappointing than the crab itself. The only reason this review isn't 1 star is because the young man at the host stand was friendly, professional, and the one bright spot of the entire experience.

The grits were quite grainy and didn't taste cheesy as described. They weren't creamy at all and really tasted like plain barely salted grits that could have been cooked a bit longer. The shrimp was flavorful and the sear on the outside was nice, but they were quite overcooked and tough. There was a much higher ratio of grits to shrimp and gravy than you would want, especially given the grits were not that good. However, my husband absolutely loved the chicken pasta and said it was one of the best he has ever had. They definitely can make good food but I would skip the shrimp and grits.
