There was no wait time, we were seated right away. Our server Tony B, was very knowledgeable about the menu, he even suggested some food items. The atmosphere was welcoming. We decided on ordering the Omelette Rue Royale with cheese grits and Chicken & Andouille. The food was served heat hot, you could see the steam on the plates. Oh my goodness the food was extremely delicious till I forgot to take pictures. Packed with lots of flavor and prepared with much love. This is a new one that I finally made myself try in the French Quarter that took the place of the 1st restaurant that I ever ate in the FQ, which was one of my favorite places to eat, Pere Antoine's. The ambiance was nice with the windows open to the street and my server did a great job, but I was hoping for a more NEW ORLEANSY (I don't know if that's a word or not) soundtrack and not music I would hear on the top 40. I decided on the French Onion soup for starters. It was fine but the broth was not as dark and rich as I like but the flavor was ok. For my main course, I went with the - CRESCENT CITY SAMPLER: "sampling of the city's most famous dishes" - cajun jambalaya, crawfish etouffée, red beans and rice, and chicken & andouille gumbo, that way I could try a little of everything. I left very full but not as satisfied as I had hoped I would. And maybe, just maybe it is because of the sentimental value and the change...but that's my story and I'm sticking to it. read more

We decided to stop in here for breakfast based on a recommendation from a friend (bottomless mimosas for Brunch!) and we were all so glad we did. It has a nice "old world" New Orleans feel with excellent service. (This restaurant should not be confused with Antione's Restaurant on St. Louis Street as this place is on Royal Street.) Speaking of service, we had Shaune as our server and she was amazing! She was very diligent in providing the mimosas and waters as well as explaining various dishes based on our questions. She even went to see the chef to get an answer to my question as to the makeup of the sauce on my Andouille & Eggs breakfast. (It's a combination of the juices from the Andouille sausage with the cheddar cheese mixture! Fantastic!) The food was very good based on comments from everyone at the table. As mentioned above, the Andouille & Eggs is highly recommended. It comes with two baked eggs (I never had baked eggs before; they were like egg pancakes), combined with sausage, tomato and cheddar cheese. I choose my entree with hash browns, but you can also choose grits or fruit. One friend had the Blackened Chicken Alfredo Pasta, and she was impressed with how light the alfredo sauce was. Another friend selected the Shrimp Po-Boy and did it come with PLENTY of fried shrimp! We were all happy and satisfied with our selections! One more comment on the "Bottomless Mimosas Brunch". You can obtain it with any entree purchase of $20. You can also choose Bottomless Bloody Marys for the same deal. I asked for a third mimosa after we finished our meals, and Shaune told us you even get a bottomless mimosa to go to enjoy on the streets of New Orleans! I could not have been happier! Let me start by start by saying what I had to eat was awesome. It was called Crab Cake Royal. It was three crab cakes on top of spinach and mushrooms. I loved. For dessert my wife and I shared an Oreo Pie. It was yummy. Top notch. I can honestly say this was best meal experience in my four days in New Orleans. As for the first 15-20 minutes at this restaurant, the best way I could say it was lacking. We get there and they put us in the corner. There was some water on the table and the hostess says "Let me get someone to clean that up" She leaves...and doesn't come. Our waitress comes back and my wife asks could she clean the water off the table. She leaves and doesn't come back for, I'd say, 10 minutes. Another waitress comes and takes our drink order. Then later, the first waitress shows up, cleans the table and proceeds to ask what we wanted to drink. My wife told her, another waitress took the order. I think that confused her for a bit. We also didn't have a setup. I walked over and grab a couple from another table. I wouldn't say the waitress was unprofessional, because she was rather nice and earnest. But it's rare to see a wait staff ( along with the hostess) so unprepared. Thank God for Crab Cake Royale, or this review would have come out differently. read more

My wife ordered the blackened chicken jambalaya and she received a bowl of brown. Everything tasted like they started cooking it this morning or yesterday. We went for breakfast, as it was close to our hotel,and we were glad we did! The omelets and potatoes were good, as was the biscuit. My husband and I shared the Louisiana Lost Bread at the end,and it was DELICIOUS!!! We highly recommend it. And lastly, our server Lee was great! The food is good here! That I can say confidently. Unfortunately what ruined the experience was the service. I came in with a party of 4 at around 11:30 am; we were seated immediately, and most of the restaurant was empty from what we could see. Our side only had one other table when we came in. Our waitress didn't visit our table until about 10 minutes after us being seated. Our drinks took another 10-15 minutes to come out. Most of the drinks were sodas and waters Our food took 45 minutes to come out after ordering. Tables that were sat after us got their food before us. We also ordered one appetizer, and that came out after all of us had finished our main meals. Very disappointing. I have a ton of patience and gratitude for the food service industry and understand things happen, but the restaurant was not busy enough for how much we had to wait I have a feeling our order may have been forgotten about? read more

My family and I spent just a little over 2 weeks in New Orleans recently and while we ate a lot of really amazing food, I want to take the time to really shout out two very special people from this restaurant. Zach, our server, was patient was us "out-of-towners." He was friendly and offered up ideas on things that he not only enjoyed but things he also thought we might like based on a few inquisitive questions on his part. It made a difference, having a friendly server. One who checked in on us and was attentive to our needs. Rommel, the manager, dude, what a kind and compassionate Rockstar! Like truly. Upon hearing that my Mama, who decided to try something completely new, didn't really like her dish, he came over, not only apologizing, and taking it off our bill, but also offered to bring out complimentary dessert. My Mama, who is always down to try anything once, was initially very adamant about how she took the chance on something new and that all of "that" wasn't necessary. But Rommel insisted that we couldn't leave his restaurant without the best flavors in our mouths. So very kind. So very generous. So very sweet. (I know its been like a month since we were there, by the time I got home to California, it has been a whirlwind of well, life. But I told you two that I would shout you out, so here is me, making good on my word.) The prices would lead you to believe you are about to receive a healthy portion of food, but you won't be. They skimped on the meat. Very overpriced for the small portions.
