Gorgeous bowl with salmon
Jenny R.

It was a chill spot, wasn't too busy at the time of day I went mid afternoon weekday. Food was fresh employees were nice. Felt full after eating, but not uncomfortable groggy full. Will def be back to try other options. Great after the gym lunch.

Moodfood used to be one of my favorite casual restaurants in fort lee, but I hadn't visited in about a year until they recently had a promotion that drew me back. When I first moved to the area, I would come here and get salads and sandwiches. I'm a big fan of their homemade tahini Caesar dressing and they make a great turkey bacon BLT. My fiance usually gets the bubba gumbo shrimp sandwich, which he says is good. I haven't tried any of their bowls or hot sandwiches, but I would like to come for dinner one day. I also saw that they recently added chips and dip to their menu (all made in house). Their menu is long enough and varied enough that you won't easily get bored with the options. I will say that I have had issues with the accuracy of my orders. This week they had a promotion for a free breakfast sandwich. When I got home and unwrapped my sandwich, I noticed there wasn't any cheese on it (it was advertised as an egg and cheese sandwich). When I called the store and notified them about the issue, they offered to allow me to come back and pick up a new one. I didn't get a chance to go back and, since it was free, it wasn't a huge deal. However, I've had this happen with other orders with them leaving things out. I still enjoy the food and atmosphere generally, but they can work on this one issue.

Cutest bottle of half-and-half -- had to forget the skim milk and use this instead!

One of my favorite spots for breakfast. Healthy and yummy food. I usually order either the breakfast bowl or hot & dirty bowl (with grilled chicken, over easy egg, or tempeh) for either breakfast or lunch. Coffee and juices/smoothies are also great. The food is not cheap, but the quality is very good. You can order in advance online for pickup or delivery. Link to menu: https://www.makeitbutter.com/mood-brands/mood-food. You can also order at the counter and eat at one of the tables in the nice sunny dining area. Service is varied -- some employees are friendlier than others. But, I've never had a problem.

What are you in the mood for?

I was in the "mood" for something filling that wouldn't make me hate myself afterwards and ended up here. I came for late lunch and got the hot and dirty bowl--organic quinoa, jalapeños, carrots, potatoes, mushrooms, cheddar, black bean salsa, and pico de gallo with chimichurri AND I added steak and shrimp. Loved it. There was PLENTY of steak and shrimp, this coupled with a yummy Boylan's seltzer was perfection. I didn't see much of the inside so I can't speak for the ambiance but sitting outside on a warm sunny day was great. The service was good, you order at the counter and then they come find you and bring you your food. It's a bit pricey which might understandably be a turn off for some people, I think the total was over $40 but I will be coming back.

Sticky Fingers & Wannabe Virgin

In the short time since I found Moodfood, I've become obsessed. The first time we went in, I pulled them off of Google maps cause it was the best healthy option close to where we were going. I tried ordering ahead but didn't have luck after being left on hold. Don't be like me. Check the apps and order through there. You won't have a chance over the phone because the place is crazy busy. I learned that the minute we walked in. I love that we can see them make the food. The place is clean, and even though service can take a while, their servers are happy and efficient. Order, pay, then have a seat, and they'll find you. Remember to tip! The Soothing Ginger Tea is my favorite drink, but I also recommend the Golden Mylk or a Comforter Latte. The sandwiches we have tried have all been fantastic. - Ranking - 1. The Turkey & Brie (turkey, brie, tomato, greens, and avocado with honey mustard). 2. Wannabe Virgin (hummus, lettuce, tomatoes, avocado, red onions, and cucumber with oil & vinegar). 3. Big Cheesy (Steak, bell peppers, mushrooms, cheesy sauce). The Turkey Chili is yummy and popular, just like all their soups. We have yet to try them because they are sold out by the time we reach. Their menu has something for everyone so take your time. Next time we go, I will get a bowl to switch it up. Cause who wouldn't want to eat a Hot & Dirty Bowl? I know I would. The names are silly, and I like that. If you love bacon and want to be bad, get the Sticky Fingers (organic bagel, cream cheese, bacon, raw honey), and you'll see what Drake means by "You know how sticky it gets" ;D. Don't you dare ask them to make the bacon crispy cause they already know! Grab plenty of napkins. You're going to need them. Now, if stuffing your face on the spot doesn't leave room for a soft and sweet treat, do like me and take a GF Coconut Carrot Muffin or Coconut Bar to go. You're welcome.

Hambre Bowl with Chipotle chicken

Food: I've been obsessed with MoodFood for years now because they have so many menu items that I'm addicted to, it's kind of crazy. Hambre bowl: perfect lunch or dinner meal and it's so much food that I can also save for later. I love that their bowls come with a lot of different toppings so it's really flavorful. Their chipotle chicken is fresh and well seasoned so I love that too. Also their juices are all organic and cold pressed. I love their green juices. I loveee all their salads at moodfood. It's so hard to find good salad options in Fort Lee but it's amazing to find great ones here. I love the Feelin' super salad with the grass fed beef burger. I know it gets expensive but I trust the quality so it's worth it. Service is relaxed and chill. My favorite place!!!

Blown away. I recommend the hot and dirty bowl with steak. The quinoa was fluffy, the vegetables were warm, and the steak was perfect. The steak fries were great. I loved the tobasco Sriracha sauce on the side. The chicken wrap was good too. Hot and dirty bowl with steak 5/5 Steak fries 5/5 Chicken wrap 4/5 We went during lunch - plenty of indoor seating. I appreciate the variety of milk options. Just a few blocks from the pet groomers. Free parking in the back.

I've been enjoying meals here since 2021 and I've never been disappointed. Füdgarten is the ideal spot to grab a healthy bite during a lunch break, after a work out, or for dinner. There's plenty of seating inside if you want to dine in. The interior is modern, clean, and inviting with lots of greenery. Their menu is built on natural ingredients and bold flavors. You can choose from diverse options like salads, bowls, sandwiches, wraps, burgers, protein shakes, etc. They use grass-fed beef, free-range chicken, wild-caught seafood, and locally sourced organic fruits and vegetables. They carefully craft their recipes and every item is made with love and care! Yes, the prices are on the higher end. But I'm happy to pay for higher quality food... because what you put into your body matters A LOT ;) I've tried a little bit of everything and they're all delicious. The food is packed with vibrant flavors and generous portions of protein. My top recommendation would be the Big NY (~$16). It includes steak, onion, mushrooms, romaine, feta, and lemon cilantro vinaigrette. I usually get it on a whole wheat wrap and it is to die forrrrrrrrr!!! The steak is super juicy and tender. All of the ingredients work so well together! One bite and I was in love. I also love getting a side of baked sweet potato fries ($6). Even the ketchup they use is organic and only made with REAL tomatoes. Don't forget to grab a bottled Kombucha ($5) from their fridge - a tangy, fizzy, sweet, and refreshing drink! The owner, Mike, is the man!!! Haha he's very welcoming, personable, and really cares about customer service. He's the type of business owner that will remember your name and order. And the cherry on top... they have their own parking lot. That's a major perk in this area. If you haven't been here before... get to it!

The soft shell crab was yummy and perfectly fried but we preferred dipping it into the yellowtail sauce. The yellowtail was a little overcooked and not the best piece. My friend complained that the meat was too tough as it was not just the collar portion. I usually find overcooking the yellowtail quite difficult since it's normally very tender. The cheesy corn chicken was delicious. Love the little pieces of corn in the cheese and the texture and taste of the chicken. The interior of the restaurant is clean, bright and relaxing. Service was good. I was a little disappointed that they didn't have the Orion draft available. Ordered and the ever came back 5 mins later saying that's unavailable as well so I ended up ordering the Terra. The have meter parking in the back or the restaurant. Around $3 per hour and the restaurant will refund you the first hour. Plus if you pay cash, you get 12% off. I would definitely check the bill as there was definitely a discrepancy with the parking reimbursement and cash discount. Overall, I think the food is better than norm and would definitely come back or visit/try the Manhattan location.

I ordered the Unagi Don Gozen ($42)- it came with a whole tray of different delicious items, with the star of the show being a generous amount of unagi (eel) over rice. The eel was cooked very well and the rice was flavorful with a bit of sweetness. There was also a small bowl of udon noodles, some sashimi, a crispy tempura shrimp in a yummy creamy sauce, flavorful edamame, mashed potato with corn, and some pickled veggies - quite the diverse array, all of which was tasty. The restaurant itself has a rather simple yet elegant Japanese wooden design. The prices suggest it's a more high end place, but the vibe is actually rather casual. The staff are very attentive and the service speed is pretty quick. Overall, I would definitely give Moru 4.5 stars if I could. I think it's great for most types of occasions, and the only reasons it's not getting 5 stars is because I do think the prices are a tad higher than I would've hoped and I think they could've done a bit more in terms of designing the place to match the price point. That being said, I still highly recommend Moru, especially for a nice lunch.

I noticed that Mavi's has installed wall mounted televisions, which scroll menu items, specials, and upcoming events. This was my first time ordering from their brunch menu and it was outstanding. My Western Omelette (ham, onion, mushroom, pepper, egg, potato, arugula, almond slices) was an excellent choice. Every ingredient was fresh, the eggs were fluffy, and it was accompanied by a side salad and two large slices of multigrain bread. The other items were the artistically presented Avocado Salad (Avocado, tomato, onion crisp, sesame seeds, pumpkin seeds, sunflower seeds, arugula mixed salad, almond slices with balsamic glaze and sesame dressing) and the Toowoomba Shrimp Donkatsu (crispy, golden-fried cutlet smothered in a rich, creamy, and spicy Cajun Toowoomba sauce with shrimp, onions, and mushrooms, served alongside a half-portion of pasta). This dish is succulent, creamy, pleasantly spicy, and thoroughly enjoyed. I'll never dine at Mavi's without ordering a Kimchi Bulgogi Pizza (tomato sauce, mozzarella, onion, mushroom, bulgogi beef, kimchi, scallion, spicy mayo drizzle). Picking out the roll dishes from the belt is always fun, and I probably devoured 5 dishes of Philadelphia rolls !!!! I would come back to try dinner. I wanted to try Otter for awhile and popped in for lunch. At $34.95 AYCE, the ambiance is nice but I expected more. Staff was very attentive and friendly. The belt itself I felt was marked but the plates were being just loaded where there was space - so the labels were correct only part of the time. The rolls were decent but it got to a point where each just tasted very slightly different so it started getting repetitive. Apps were fine but nothing noteworthy enough to order again. The options on the belt were much more plentiful than the ones on the menu to order. Lunch you're limited to only nigiri (sashimi is dinner only) and the options are pretty basic at just octopus, salmon, tuna, saba, etc. The belt design could be better, very slow pace and the divider on each side makes it that it's easy for the tables on the other side to grab things. We actually had the best seat where the items come out first but our neighbors on the other side started reaching out to grab things. This was at lunch which as I mentioned, had limited options - I wonder how much more primal diners will be in the evening with better choices. At $34.95 pp - would not come back for lunch. Just way too few options and I can't order what's on the belt. Kura for example, even if you have a crappy seat where most of the belt is picked through.. I can order EVERYTHING a la carte. I'd be willing to check out dinner to see what that extra $10 gets me. For lunch though - either the price needs to decrease or the options need to increase. I wouldn't recommend lunch service in its current form. Service though, A+++.
