This place is trying way too hard to be "fine dining" for a conveyor belt sushi spot. The interior is ridiculously dark, which might be an attempt at ambiance, but it just makes it hard to see what's even on the belt. Speaking of which--there are only about 20 of the same pieces rotating, and most of the interesting ones from the menu are "order only," so the whole conveyor belt concept feels pointless. The sushi itself? Tiny and overpriced. If you're expecting a plate with two pieces, think again--one small piece per plate, which adds up fast. To top it off, the restaurant had no heat on, so we were freezing the entire time. With so many better conveyor belt sushi spots nearby, I definitely won't be coming back. Service was professional and friendly.

Conveyor belt sushi and fine dining isn't exactly synonymous but Otter Fine Sushi is making it come true. Grand Opening was Jan. 29, 2025 and already it's making quite a splash. What can you expect: The weather this time of year gets really cold in the 30F and their heating system needs work. Once the front door opens you can feel the chill air all the way in the back of the room. The table behind me even requested to move tables mid way through because they were so cold. Ambiance was nice and was well lit considering the dark ceilings and walls. Tables were big. I was a party of two and got sat in a 6 person table. Food It's sushi. You can expect prices to be higher than average. I will say that it's a quality over quantity place. Don't expect to pig out like an AYCE unless you can foot the bill. But quality wise is some of the best I had (for its class). I mainly stuck to yellowtail, tuna, and salmon nigiris. The fish was so soft and I'm not a sushi connoisseur by any means but even I can tell this was high quality. I'm not even a big tuna person but I guess I never had high grade tuna before. This one didn't have a fishy hard chewy texture at all. If you round up, expect to pay about $4-5 per plate which mostly comes with two pieces. Verdict They should still work out a few kinks with service but I'm sure they will get better. I wouldn't let that deter you from going. It's worth trying and I will be back again at some point!

A decent place to get conveyor belt sushi. I wanted something quick so decided to give this place a try. Inside, the restaurant was beautiful. Service was okay. The options were good, lots of rolls with tuna/salmon. The taste was okay, tasted like your typical sushi conveyor belt spot without the nice ambiance. The food was sticky, cold, at times. I prefer kura's taste and pricing.

I was waiting for the first wave of reviews before trying this new place out and I won't lie, I went into this with a healthy dose of skepticism. Even though the obvious nearby competitor Kura is a big ass conveyer belt sushi chain, I will say there were some moments here that made it stand out against them. However there were some obvious flaws as well. The Ambiance - When I walked in I was like, well this place is gonna be pricey! The decor was on the dark side but projected a refined vibe and didn't feel as workmanlike as Kura. The tables were pretty big and all of the obligatory trimmings like wasabi and ginger etc were all at the ready. The Service - Based on some of the early feedback I expected this to be crap. It actually was decent and it seems the staff got some of the kinks out after the opening. Everyone was very attentive and (fairly) easy to find as needed. Occasionally I saw people congregating up front and chatting but it fortunately wasn't that often. For the most part my table was always cleaned and whatever I ordered from the kitchen came very fast. The Food - Here's where one of the problems were, the issue of consistency. Some of the rolls were absolutely solid. The eel and shrimp options in particular were fantastic. I tried a few of those variations and they were all excellent, well-prepared and tasty. One shrimp roll in particular was some baked fish on top of it reminded me of the amazing tiger roll over at Picnic sushi nearby - that one was so good I opted for an encore of it. The other standout was the little house salad which had some delicious dressing and the veggies were very fresh. The problem was some of the other options were just mediocre and flat out awful. The yellowtail scallion roll was fine, nothing great nothing bad. The salmon nigiri was surprisingly underwhelming. The fish had a slimy (not in a healthy, oily way) consistency and didn't taste particularly good. What was really the surprise to me was how bad the tuna options were. The tuna nigiri with a little fish roe on top was ok, nothing to write home about. The spicy tuna roll was not particularly tasty, to be honest. But the real downer was the negitoro roll, which looked good on the surface but was the worst of its kind I've had in a long time. The fish also had a very slimy and fishy consistency to it, to the point it actually gave me a wee bit of nausea. Hopefully it's a quality and not a freshness issue, but I was not happy about this at all. Given this is my absolute favorite type of sushi and I've eaten it in countless countries and settings, this was a massive fail here IMO. Another surprising meh moment was the miso soup, which was bland, watery and not particularly satisfying. Key Issue - food setup and placement. One other element that I observed which was a fail was how the conveyer belt was set up. For every round it only has ONE section for each type of fish/food. For instance there is one section for eel type sushi, salmon type sushi, tuna sushi etc - you get the point. Now the problem with this is how it actually functions in execution. Case in point, when I ate there I sat in the third table from the direction of where the sushi is coming out from the kitchen. The second table was empty but the first table had 5 Asian women of varying degrees of appetite and sushi inhalation abilities - but they clearly LOVED tuna and sushi in general (I saw what looked like at least 30 plates of sushi piled up, to the point they were taking photos of it and selfies too). Anyway, these human vacuum cleaners were sitting right in front of where the sushi exited the kitchen and proceeded to co-opt every single tuna option whenever it came out. That left the rest of us with next to none in terms of options for tuna, and given there is only one type of fish per round and the conveyer belt moves at a glacial pace, we were all left to either 1) hope the table didn't gorge all the tuna again in the next round or 2) but the servers to order it ala carte. Point being, given they don't repeat fish in a given round like Kura does (even though their line is MUCH bigger of course), this leaves the who process feeling weird and inefficient. At the very least it makes me pray if I ever come back here there isn't some pack of sushi addicts with huge appetites sitting at the first table. I will say that one nice perk here is that you get 20% of during weekday lunch, which takes a bit of the sting off of the prices. I actually thought from a price standpoint it was ok but given they give you roughly 1/2 of the amount of food that Kura gives you in most cases per plate (i.e. Otter = 1 nigiri, Kura = 2 nigiri per plate, 2-3 pieces of rolls vs 4-6 pieces of rolls, etc) this place is pricier from a value prop standpoint. But for me the issue is definitely the less than idea setup of how the sushi goes around and the inconsistency of the food so far, but hopefully they will improve over time after just opening

for the cost, i think this place is worth it. everything was pretty fresh and good. service was quick and the staff catered more towards a high end restaurant feel. however, the ambiance does not really match the food. it feel like a fancy restaurant with more casual food style. if you dont really mind that kind of vibe, i think its a great place to check out!

This place is serious about sushi, Otter Fine Sushi is exactly as it states -- fine sushi. Every dish we tried was absolutely top-tier--fresh, flavorful, and beautifully presented. But what really set the experience apart was the service. Isaac, the manager, is a total pro. From the second we walked in, he made us feel welcomed and taken care of. You can tell he runs the place with passion and precision. He checked in on us personally, made great recommendations, and just brought a calm, attentive energy the whole night. The revolving bar is great, you chose from a wide variety of beautifully, well crafted delicate rolls. I have to mention the ambiance, which feels like you're dining in a modern Tokyo-meets-NYC lounge, just enough casual and just enough fine. Highly recommend the Chilean sea bass and any of the gold-sprinkled rolls. You're not just getting sushi here--you're getting an experience.

The ones I took pictures of were awesome! The other rolls were fine. It was pretty good! Not the best sushi ever but good for ayce and also a conveyor belt!! Definitely good for sushi lovers but not if you like ayce for the apps. I'd go back deff but my friend is 50/50

It opened on the 29th, and it was visited a day later. The place had about ten tables seated, which is quite impressive on the 30th. I've visited another conveyor restaurant in town. I have also visited others and other similar conveyor type restaurants in JAPAN. We sat down. No one came to greet us, give us plates, tea, or even the menu. We had to ask the waitress for each one of these items. Chalk it up to a new opening, but this is the basics. There are very few kitchen items to order, and you can't call it down from a tablet - you have to call a server, and she will put the order in for you. Looking for a rice dish? Something non sushi? You won't find it on the menu, besides soup. Not sure what the beyond part was about. The items on the belt were the same items going in circles, very few selections, and some not clearly identified. One was in tin foil, another was completely wrapped with no indication what mystery item was inside. What we did try was small portions, but fresh. We had to repeat some items because of the small selection of menu items. Some items on the belt menu include beef etc. Non existent. Asked for shrimp tempura kitchen menu, non existent- was told unavailable. . Yet, some sushi rows had shrimp tempura in them. Piled up the plates. Bill came to over 100 125 with tip. Left hungry. There is no automatic plate count. There is no RFID on the plates (ala Japan)--the count is by human, and hopefully, they won't make an error. Yellow plates are more, and others are less. Maybe something is around the corner, "beyond" what we experienced tonight, and maybe some easier ordering would get implemented, along with a more extensive selection of food items on the belt and menu choices. Until then... Parking is free; get validated.

Great sushi and service. Highly recommend as a fun alternative to a regular sushi experience.

Otter Sushi and Beyond. We have been waiting for this Restaurant to open beyond 3 months. A bit disappointed.... Was expecting Fine Service. We was Greeted at door and lead to a table. After 5 minutes seated. We asked for water and tea. There was ZERO explanation on experience of this restaurant. After 5 more minutes of waiting. We just started to select Sushi plates from the conveyor belt. Thank goodness there was chopsticks and napkins on the table. We finally saw a waitress walk by and grabbed her to ask for plates. The waitress we grabbed, we finally asked for menu of the dishes on the conveyor belt said I can place an order for you? But did not tell us what we can order and walked away. We grab a bus boy cleaning table behind us and ask to get our waitress to order. She came back and look annoyed with us. We asked what else can we order for kitchen other than conveyor belt sushi. She said scan QR Code from menu. And walked away. Again. We scanned the QR and there was no photos! just the same printed menu. Why Scan QR code from the menu. Just look at the Menu. We grabbed the wait staff team again. And ordered a Hawaiian poke salad. Which came 15 mins later. The poke salad was made of Salmon instead of Tuna???? It was a small plate. This was Beyond Fine Sushi. We wasn't able to continue on after 15 of the same Dishes. Check Please..... 3 Star because we want yo give them an opportunity to improve on the service.

The food is not good like other Japanese restaurant some of the sashimi is very cold like just thawed ( we eat here around 1pm sunday) and some are not fresh anymore and where talking about sashimi this should be always fresh. The presentation is the big factor here for experience but it's better if they served quality, fresh sashimi. We order also shrimp tempura the breading is like tonkatsu breading so the tempura is not like the typical Japanese tempura it taste like chicken tenders covered with tonkatsu breading. The price for the sashimi we order with nice presentation $70, a little pricey For just few slices of sashimi. l think what we paid here is the presentation and experience to see the revolving conveyor of choo choo train. The little train cars that bring your food are super fun, and the conveyor belt has food as well and of course the robots that bring you food as well. This is all you can eat so you pay 1 price for everything. I thought Ramen would be more expensive but it's not, it's included! I think only drinks and desserts are extra. This place had a lot of options and way more than sushi so if you are not a sushi person, there's plenty. To be honest, the mozzarella sticks were some of the best I ever had. I also love Kura sushi which is a very similar revolving sushi bar place so I am comparing it to that. This place relies more on the tablet ordering than the conveyor belt while Kura relies on the conveyor belt. The conveyor belt here had some things labeled, most of it was unlabeled which was a little annoying. Everything at Kura is labeled. Kura is pricing per plate while this place is all you can eat - which I do prefer. I think this place has way more selection while Kura has more or less the same items. I still love this place but overall, I do prefer Kura more. Both places definitely have pros and cons though. The service was great as well. Everyone was friendly and knowledgable.
