Wish I had googled it before we stepped inside, it turns out this place is a chain from NYC where the reviews were equally as terrible as our own experiences. When we tried to order, the cashier could not understand anything I was saying. I tried asking if there were photos of the desserts or if she could explain what they were and she stared at me blankly before calling over, who assume to be her boss on the phone. The manager/owner looked at the menu and said... the first couple are like ice cream, we don't have any pictures of the mango toast, and the rest of it you can take a look at the refrigerator and see what we have and suggested we get one of everything so we can try it before going back to his business. The refrigerator he pointed at looked like it had a bunch of random things stuffed inside wrapped in saran wrap. None were labeled and they did not look appetizing. We finally settled on some drinks, and after we ordered. The manager/owner had to call us over because they couldn't make one of the drinks. When we asked if they had any similar alternatives, he told us that they printed the menus before they knew what the supplier had available so they didn't have a lot of things. Menus are cheap, I don't think it should be so hard. After going around the menu, we asked if they could just give us a basic milk tea with boba. Red bean milkshake: Couldn't make it, didn't have the ingredients Green tea milkshake: Couldn't taste any green tea Chocolate milkshake: tasted like pure sugar earl gray milk tea with boba: whatever they put in there was not boba All these things cost over $6. Moon flower is cute, affordable, and not too bad. I visited on a quiet Monday afternoon for a to-go order of their famous fried chicken sandwich and mozzarella cheese sticks. My food was ready when I got there. I didn't like that they only accepted card if you spent more than $15. Their food is very affordable and that means if you're buying for yourself, you may not get over the $15 and thus need to pay in cash. (One star off for this) The mozzarella: these were fantastic; five stars for these! They are SO affordable and taste great - they're the best cheese sticks I've had in any restaurant in MA. They're also better than YAS Chicken's (their neighbor down the block). Their fried chicken sandwich (non-spicy): this was good, but not great. (3.5/5 stars) The presentation was pretty bad - it looked like someone hastily stuffed ingredients between two buns. But it did taste good, at least, better than YAS's chicken sandwich. I actually happened upon this place when I was searching for my old favorite bubble tea place. It stands right where it used to be, and now I think it's my new favorite. I never feel inclined to write any reviews, but I feel like this place deserves it. The boba is AMAZING. I didn't have time to eat anything on the menu, but I have been by twice this week just for the tea, the fruit slushes, and the boba. They have white boba, which I'm not very accustomed to. Their boba has a very lovely, almost crunchy/bouncy texture that I really enjoyed. The tea is wonderful and doesn't lose it's flavor by being overpowered by sugar despite being still quite sweet. The fruit slush tastes almost like a milk shake! So yummy. Highly recommend for the bubble tea alone! I have yet to try any of the food, but I'm looking forward to coming back and trying it. As far as price, it can be considered a bit expensive, 5 dollars per drink, but they give you a huge serving and I've paid more for coffee and yogurt slushes with much less flavor, smaller portions, and the same price. I'll probably revisit for burgers and sandwiches that people rave about, but never for desserts. To be fair, both the tea and ice cream seem to be made in house--the taro tea was richly aromatic and strawberry ice cream had a chunk of strawberry in it. As for the chocolate ice cream, a scoop was way too tiny for me to really enjoy and figure out the quality. One "scoop" of ice cream ($2.75 each) is a teeny bit more than a teaspoonful which is ridiculous! And yes, what you see there are two scoops of ice cream. Another complaint is that the tea came with the white bubbles(?) that had a strange texture and honestly ruined the awesome tea flavor. As for the ice cream, I don't plan to order it ever again, but it'd be nice to have more options with toppings for bobas. read more

Ok, first off, the boba tea here is a bit different - the online menu is confusing, and I'm not sure I can help much, but here goes: - it seems like you pay extra to put boba in your tea? & only white-boba exists here? (this could be clarified in person, but that's how it seems online - as all the teas we ordered WITHOUT paying extra for "white boba" came without any boba at all. And there was no option for "non-white boba"). - the white boba is a very different texture - bouncier/firmer, not as mochi-like/squishy/chewy. kinda like pectin vs gelatin. - the "Zanthoxylum Fried Chicken Sliced" is tasty - fried in panko? Zanthoxylum is the chemical name for Sichuan pepper, which is mouth-numbing. This was surprisingly less spicy than the "spicy chicken wings." Some of the seasoning was uneven, so one of the pieces was nearly inedible for its spiciness, but the others were mild enough for everyone. - the "Not-spicy" fried chicken sandwich was still mildly spicy, lol. We all liked it, but some people could not tell the difference between the spicy and non-spicy chicken - mostly a comment on how the "spicy" chicken sandwich wasn't very spicy. - the Fries were very good. they include a spicy powder to put on them, if you like. the spice-lovers in the family loved it. - the spicy chicken wings were delicious but VERY SPICY. Hidden place in Allston! The shop serves various fried chicken and hamburgers as well as multiple drinks. They have cozy sofas and staffs are always smiling. Waiting could be a little longer compared to similar shops but it's worthy. They don't warm prepared dishes so that the food is much more fresh and tasty. Personally, my favorite one is BBQ chicken, it's unique among all the fried chicken places around this area. The place even have a written note in Chinese at the register telling people that employees are following guidelines wearing masks and gloves. But in reality, only the cashier lady wore a mask, no gloves, while she was constantly packing people's meal. I ordered the popcorn chicken and a couple orders of the chicken wings and they were both pretty good. 2 warnings... 1. I ordered from Grubhub and the surcharge per order was $4 extra an order on average! They charged $16 for a 10 piece chicken wings when it's only $12.25 at the restaurant. So you may want to just call in the order. I paid $10 more than I should have in total if I had called it in instead of using Grubhub. 2. Everything I ordered was a bit spicy even though I ordered for non spicy wings and popcorn chicken. For those who like spicy, it's great, but I can't take more than 1 piece. So unfortunately, I barely had anything to eat for lunch. If I could handle it, they're actually pretty tasty.
