Voted favorite spot by the whole family on vacation. Don't let the parking lot/shopping center deceive you, this place is great. Unassuming outside, clean and humble interior. Order at a register, pick a table and served from there. Workers were patient with a big order and timely with refills. Salads were fine but pizza was of course the star of the show. Super friendly and helpful staff! Fun decor and music is at a good volume. But the pizza...way better than expected! We wanted to try some of the named pizzas on the board, but decided to play it safe on our first visit and just got a large mushroom. You can tell it was made fresh; I can't say I've seen a pizza steaming like it was when we got it, mushrooms were very fresh, and just the right amount of sauce, cheese, and mushrooms. The crust had a good crisp on the bottom, but a really good chew. I usually prefer a very thin crust pizza being originally from the northeast, but this was amazing! The sauce wasn't my favorite, but nothing notably wrong with it. I was telling the guy who helped us that there are a few my son would like, and he said any pizza can be done by the slice, so we may be getting a "sampler" box soon read more

Very good pizza Had the medium special with a full Greek salad. Service was fast despite filling someone's very large takeout order. It's a pizza joint so it was a proper setting, despite being in an older strip mall. Don't let the outside discourage you. It's well worth eating there or doing takeout. read more

Y'all remember when we had Beef O'Brady's, KFC, and Shoney's? You know who else was around back then? (I'm pretty sure) Moon River Pizza was. Now there are some good pizza options in the places formerly occupied by the 3 restaurants listed above, but Moon River is still doing their thing. The worst thing I can say about my experience is that I decided to share my calzone with my old lady, and we were HUNGRY. The food was delicious, the cashier/server was warm and friendly, and my favorite thing about the ambiance was the note on the tv's that said something along the lines of "please don't ask for the channel to be changed, just enjoy what's on". They had sports on 1 tv and Harry Potter on the other. If you aren't satisfied with one of those options, you're probably a hard person to please (and probably suck at Quidditch). read more

Just discovered MR Pizza, a hidden gem on Amelia Island! I enjoyed their pizza (TRex, White / Hawaii'n). Cool option is a 1/2 and 1/2 on one of the pies. Staff were all very friendly and cool. Environment is eclectic chill and music was a great mix. I enjoyed a Peroni on tap while I waited on my order and grabbed a couple cans of Stella with my to go order. My service and food today (June 2, 2025) were extremely good. Always a good pie or slice of a pie if you're in the area and hungry. The facility was clean and organized. Only thing I saw, (never seen before) which I would have walked out if I saw it happen to my pie, the pizza maker decided to wipe his face with his hand, then wipe his mouth, then pulled a pie from the oven, lifted it up (with the same hand) and blew under it and then appeared to blow on it. I have never seen that technique before. Maybe a new method I'm not aware of, but not to sure it was sanitary. I love places I can see what they are doing and the majority of the time they (staff) are doing it right. read more

Easily the best calzone I've had anywhere in years. The pizza looked really good, too. The staff were super helpful and friendly, literally every person we talked to. We came in a bit closer to closing time than I like to do, having worked in the service industry myself, but you would have never guessed it the way everyone was so cool. Nice cold draft beer sure helped, and you can't beat the price for the amount and quality of the food you get. To top it all off, they were playing some really great 90s music, too! I would have never guessed a pizza place in a strip mall not on any of the main drags in town would be so amazing - great find!!!!! read more

Love the story and following that Moon River has from the locals. We were directed here by the great people at A1A Cidery. We ordered the T-Rex and a Hawaiian calzone to enjoy in our hotel room after a busy day. Delicious! I will say it's cheese heavy but no complaints from the kids. The staff were friendly and we had a chance to check out the restaurant while waiting for the pizza. Cool little spot that has 'dive bar' vibes in the best way. My buddy recommended moon river to us when we were visiting Amelia Island. We called in the order to go and it was ready as soon as we got there. Terrible service. Sent my family there to pick up pizza and it took over 90 minutes to get the pizzas. Pizzas were overpriced and poor quality. Their website states that they do not take online or phone orders which would save a lot time and they should consider joining the rest of us in this century and offer call ahead service. Fri 8/24/19 - party of 2 We had calzone cravings and Yelp led us to Moon River. It's located in a sketchy strip with mostly empty stores. You order at the counter and they bring your food to you. There was quite a line so it took about 25 minutes to place our order. My teenager had Italian sausage and black olives in his calzone and I had veggies. Both were tasty but seemed to lack some seasoning. The marina sauce was really sweet and bland. Adding some Italian seasoning and garlic would have made these remarkable, instead of just a meal. Cute place with the walls covered in art for sale (with outlandish prices). It was really hot because of all the pizza ovens. I enjoyed the rocking music and the muted TV's. read more

Several friends recommended this place so I'll start by saying it doesn't like inviting when you pull up. Dark tinted windows with crazy drawings on the storefront. Plenty of parking since several units next to it are closed. Huge menu on the wall as you enter and place your order and pay before seating. The decor inside could use a serious face lift. We ordered a small house salad that comes with Italian dressing. All the fixings on it with a pile of shaved mozzarella cheese on top. I enjoyed that very much. We ordered a large half and half. One side (The Pizza) and the other side (The Special) Both Pizza's were good but next time we will order by the slice. The pizza was very good and filling, but got kind of doughy after the second pizza. I would like to try a build it yourself pizza next time. read more

This restaurant is housed in a random and somewhat run down strip plaza. Do not be fooled, the food is delicious. We ordered at the counter and then had a seat. Food arrived about 10 mins later. I had the white pizza per other Yelp recommendations. It was absolutely the best white pizza I've ever had. My family ordered a regular meat and veggie pizza. The crust is thin and crispy. We have ordered from Moon River numerous times and have never been thrilled with their pizza, but when our usual pizza location is closed, we order from Moon River. But after today, we will just do without pizza on Mondays. There is never any consistency in the way their pizzas are made. Apparently every cook does it their own way, and with a pepperoni pizza, that's tough to mess up. Tonight's pizza was more dough than anything else, and the dough wasn't even fully cooked, and we actually had requested it to be "well done". It had very little sauce and even less cheese and pepperoni. I counted THREE pieces of pepperoni per slice. So we are done "giving it another try". read more

A local pizza place in Fernandina Beach. Lots of " take outs" but there is spaced, seating inside too. The salads are not premiere salad but just iceberg, mushrooms, cheese and such, but they are fresh and crisp...just not fancy or creative. The pizza though is what we come for and the crust is great! We ordered a white pizza with bacon-the bacon was smoky! The menu on line is off a few dollars on almost everything. Apparently this is the original spot for that great pizza and it is stated it is even better in this location than in JAX. I must say the pizzas are portioned larger. If you are alone or just two of you might consider ordering slices instead. Of course everything was fresh and hot and tons of cheese. Their was a line at the door all the time we were here so that says it all! Could use a slight remodel I think but its still has a nice family pizza vibe. read more

I am from NJ and it would not be fair ro just any of the places around here against the NY/NJ pizza, however, you might like this place. The flavor of the sauce/cheese/dough is good! It's a decent pizza- not my favorite- because I prefer a thinner, less doughy crust that either has the sauce and cheese coming close to the outer edge, or a crust that is crisp. We were skeptical when we ordered as the previous pies were ok but not great. My wife ordered a medium pepperoni pizza and I ordered a calzone. We didn't eat there, rather we took it home. I have had many many calzones over the years but the one I ate from Moon River was far and away one of the best I've ever had! The cheeses, meatball and spinach made for a delicious meal!!
