Visited Moon Time before a theater date nearby. The pub is a sister to The Two Seven House near us in Spokane. The service was very prompt and friendly. It is a bit smaller than Two Seven and can be quite loud, as was noted in previous reviews. We like just this type of pub and were very hopeful. The simple menu had us drooling, I vacillated about my selection right up to ordering. I had the "swimming angel" ( a Thai chicken dish) and my wife ordered the mushu pork tacos. The "angel" was delicious, quite spicy (like the gumbo at Two Seven) and flavorful. I ate it like I was going to the chair! My wife's tacos were flavorful but on the dry side, which we fixed with the dressing on my cucumber salad. We thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and can't wait to come back and hop around the menu! read more

I wanted to go back the very next day but we were leaving the following morning. The lemon spinach salad was so good I wanted to roll in it. Tender young beets, walnuts, goat cheese, red onions, spinach and magic. I don't understand how the chef imagined those flavors together but I'm glad he or she did. Impossibly delicious. The Swimming Angel was amazing. Perfectly cooked rice overlaid with lightly steamed spinach and a thickly sliced grilled chicken breast dressed with a just-right-spicy peanut sauce. My gosh! I cleaned my plate. I left Moon Time with a very full tummy, but honestly, the food was THAT spectacular. Food and service is great. What keeps this out of 5 star territory is it is by far the loudest restaurant I've ever been in. It literally hurts your ears. I have no idea who figured out the acoustics of this place, but it's impossible to hold a conversation. It's not music either, it's just the din of talking and dishes clanking. It drives me nuts. We have gone to the sister restaurant 'The Porch Pub' in Hayden. They have a very similar menu with a few differences. The place is conveniently located on Sherman ave. They have a few nice outdoor seats if you want to take in the air. The inside was slow when we arrived at about 5pm on a Tuesday in August, and it looked like there was only one woman serving and bartending at the same time. We seated ourselves inside, and we were quick to be greeted by the server. We ordered and our food was pretty quick to get out to us. I ordered the half order of the lemon vinaigrette salad with chicken. The salad was the perfect size, the chicken was grilled perfectly and tasted great. However, the goat cheese and roasted beats made up 50% of the salad. It was just flavor overload. My husbands pork tacos were quite tasty. The only draw back was the potato chips that were quite stale, compared to how awesome they were at the Porch. My parents ordered the Swimming Angel. This Thai dish is pretty yum, but you better be able to handle the heat! The server did let us know it was spicy hot, so we appreciated that. The place got really loud halfway into our dinner and I could barely hear my dad talking, due to a large table right next to us. That's not necessarily a knock against the place, the building has very high ceilings so its hard to avoid that. I might be back for the nice beer selection and an appetizer. Great local place! My Lamb Burger was very very good and well complimented by the condiments that came with it. Also, it was very juicy which is difficult to achieve with a lamb burger. My companion's veggie burger was also declared to be a success (and she is a veggie burger aficionado!) The pasta side was also a hit. Given how good these two menu items were we would expect the entire menu to be very good as well. Grabbed a beer, they have a nice selection of ales on tap and also grabbed lunch. They have a variety of foods that should satiate any preference. I went with the Swimming Angel. Steamed white rice, topped with a heaping of spinach, grilled chicken and drenched in a spicy peanut sauce. The peanut sauce is similar to what you dip your Vietnamese rice rolls in. Sprinkled with basil. The side was a vinegary cucumber and red onion salad. This was spectacular. The chicken cooked perfectly, the sauce had a spicy kick that left your mouth tingling but not in a painful way. The spinach gave a nice texture to round it out. The cucumber salad was a refreshing touch here and there during the meal. Definitely recommend. read more

What a welcoming little spot we found staying lakeside for the weekend. We stumbled in hungry and left comfortably satisfied. Sitting at the bar corner with my wife, we were greeted quickly and cold beer arrived shortly after. I had the French dip and she had the chicken sandwich. Both were hot, fresh and on point; the French baguette was particularly well done. Accompanied by potato and pasta salad, each dish provided just the right amount of food. They don't have a helluva lot of options but their options are varied for any taste (including tofu - which I don't do but some of you might). With a description like that, how could you not order it? My brother had the steak sandwich and it was good, but he had to use only one bun because they slathered chopped garlic on way too thick on the top bun. I love garlic and it burned my mouth when I tried it. Just overpowering all around! They have a really good selection of micro-brews for a Coeur D'alene burger den. Considering I don't know anyone in Idaho...I am writing this Yelp to get other people to book a flight NOW to go to Moon Time and order the Santa Fe Chicken. I'm not sure what else there is to do in Idaho. I know it might be costly to fly somewhere JUST to eat a sandwich and then instantly fly back....but if there were ever a time to do such a thing, this is the time. I'm telling you, I ordered the same sandwich in SD yesterday trying to relive the dream at Terra American Bistro and it sucked. Now, the sandwich at Terra did NOT cost me $1000 in flight and rental car...but I also didn't have a religious experience at Terra. I believe in the Santa Fe Chicken at Moon Time. I worship it. Why? Because the Santa Fe Chicken sandwich at Moon Time is almost too good to be true! It was light and crispy on the outside...and JUICY on the inside. It wasn't killed...it was cooked! It also has this honey cream cheese on it that is OUT OF THIS WORLD...and then, right when you think it couldn't get any better...BOOM...you bite into the sweet, sweet poblano pepper. So...here is what I'm going to do. I will give the first reader of this Yelp who does not live in Washington, Montana, or Idaho $10.00 to try it. That's right. I'll PAY for your meal. That is how confident I am that you will love this sandwich. Of course, my opinion MIGHT BE connected to the fact that I did an Ironman a day before I ate this sandwich...so...sure...I might have been a little "extra" hungry....but I still stand by my offer....you pay for the flight and rental car...I'll pay for your sandwich. Although the taste was good it was a whole lot of cornbread and a scoop of meat sauce. Very little meat. My wife had the Fried pork sandwich. Nice thin slices that were cooked perfectly. Previously we had the gumbo. It tasted like a Mexican mole sauce. Several beer choices and wine choices. Nice less crowded part of town.
