When I'm visiting great Pacific Northwest Inland Empire, I can likely be found at Moontime, drinking a beer, maybe playing one of the games that they have on shelves, then drinking another beer. It is a perfect place to escape the elements (hot, dry summer or cold, snowy winter) and just hang out as if it were a cafe. We stopped by here for a quick Tuesday dinner and I am so happy we did. This place has such a great atmosphere. Great choice of beer and wine - something for every taste. Let me tell you about the food! I have been craving a Hawaiian burger for a moment now and their Kona burger was amazing! The party was grilled to perfect and the teriyaki sauce was just the right tang. I got the potato salad as my side and it was the creamiest potato salad and the most flavorful ever. My date got the sloppy joes and it is not a sandwich but it is amazing. The corn bread is fluffy and light, meat and sauce and just like mom made at home! Most definitely coming back! Thanks guys! Decided to stop in for a quick lunch bite, and was not disappointed. Friendly staff with good service is always a plus. I tried the tomato rosemary soup, as it was a rainy day, and it hit on all cylinders! Robust and flavorful, plus a very good portion. First time here, so I can't say about other options, but what I saw coming out to other customers seemed well-presented. Lots of standard pub food with some nice twists, but done well, and I liked the daily specials, like the soup today. Not a huge selection of micro-brews, but enough to serve most palates. If not, they have a bigger bottle selection. I liked the casual ambiance, and ti seems they put out a good product for a reasonable price - always a plus. I used to live only a few blocks away and would order to pick up all the time. Now I live out of the area and it's always on my list of places to go when I am in Coeur d'Alene. The food is delicious and the service is fantastic. The lamb burger and corn pasta are my go-to order but everything I've eaten here has been great. The food was good. Not what we expected. Service was non existent!!! Kids meal was a joke. Should have come with apple slices or sauce or carrot sticks, not a pound of chips. And no drink came with the $6 kids meal. we didn't order alcohol and it seemed like the service dropped off once they knew that. Can't believe I haven't reviewed this place yet! I DO NOT go to CDA without a stop a Moon Time (or one of the affiliated restaurants- there are a few in the valley, but this one's my fave). Always a great beer selection, but the sandwiches are amazing. I've tried all of them I think, but I keep going back to the Santa Fe Chicken and the Anasazi Bean Burger. I am not a vegetarian by any stretch, but that bean burger is killer. Pan fried, perfect texture, excellent flavor. Don't be afraid, just get it. The Santa Fe Chicken is also pan fried with a sort of honey aioli, a perfect compliment to the flavor of the poblano. The roasted corn pasta salad is unique and delicious as well, I always order that. The service is never terrible, but occasionally lacking. Regardless, there is no level of service that would keep me away from those sandwiches. read more

Been to MoonTime many times and have always had good service until last night. We sat at the bar and the place was busy, but we usually have a cold beer in hand in under 1 minute. Last night, we were totally ignored for about 5 minutes. I was patient until I saw our female bartender slamming a Corona from the fridge in back, then come out and ignore us again. Let me start by saying the food is absolutely delicious. There wasn't a thing my husband and I didn't love about the food we got. The service is sub-par. We were told we could sit anywhere so we found a table away from people as we have an 18 month old who is loud. We were immediately asked by our server to move in case a bigger party came in. Thats fine, but if you don't want people to sit wherever then seat people. The service felt rushed like he just wanted us to get out. The atmosphere is alright, nothing notable. We were meandering around "downtown" Coeur d'alene debating what we should eat. We pulled out our smart phones to see what yelp had to say when we were approached by a young woman who had just arrived in her time machine from 1995. (Apparently Portlandia extends to Coeur d'alene, ID.) She had been sitting at nearby coffee shop and had overheard our conversation. She then went out of her way to interrupt out conversation to explicitly recommend The Moontime. (If it had been me, I would have chuckled to myself and let such bumbling "tourists" fend for themselves. Clearly she is a better person than I am.) Anyway, at the behest of the coffee shop girl we ventured to the Moontime. Not only did Moontime have a wide selection of craft beers, but they also had the BEST food in Coeur d'alene . . . perhaps even in all of Western Idaho. I ordered the butternut squash ravioli. It was incredible. My mouth wanted more, but my stomach was pretty eff'n happy. Others in our party ordered the gumbo, the Santa Fe Chicken Sandwich, and the Turkey Pot Pie.
