Went for Sunday brunch about 12:30. First time at restaurant. Had 3 doors to it so wasn't sure which one to go into, but picked the most left door and that was right by the cash register, so I figured that must be the entrance. Bus man wearing a blue shirt (this was Sunday, June 9th, immediately greeted us and got us a table. Asked what we wanted to drink, we both said coffee. He got the coffee, saw that I was putting in a French vanilla creamer, and offered to bring further creamers to our table as there was only one other left in the creamer bowl. Alexa was our waitress, came over a few minutes later to take order. Food came out in a short time, hot, nice size portions. Food was listed as comfort food and it tasted okay. I got the any cheese omelette with cheddar cheese that came with either hash browns or home fried potatoes and toast. I got the home fries potatoes and wheat toast. Hubby got the mushroom omelette with hash browns and wheat toast. One of his 2 pieces of wheat toast was burnt, but still able to be eaten. The food was just okay tasting. Nothing fancy about it. Bit noisy in the restaurant as whatever channel was on TV there were people watching it (clips of people doing stunts that didn't work, etc) and others in the restaurant were shouting when seeing some of the clips. Worth 1 visit but I don't think we'll be back. Gave it 5 starts because the service was very good. Coffee was offered several times for refills while we were there. read more

Me and my husband went on our honeymoon at Hilton Tapatio cliffs resort. So we decided to get some breakfast at moon valley cafe. I order coffee and the biscuits and gravy with bacon. When the food came out it looked good but they gave me links instead of bacon and so I wanted for the lady waitress to come back. She never came back to check on us and in this time I was out of coffee.. by the time she came back we were done with our food but SHE DID NOT ASK US IF WE WANTED MORE COFFEE OR OFFER ANYTHING. She came back with the check.. The food was really good but the waitress wasn't doing her job so I didn't leave no tip and when we left she was looking and making a face because she look at the table was no tip....I always tip but I don't when you don't deserve it read more

My aunt and I were out seeking a cafe that would serve mimosas and bloody Mary's as we'll as a delicious breakfast while we visited. We found this gem of a cafe and were delightfully surprised. A very casual atmosphere with really cheerful employees makes this an obvious hot spot in Moon Valley. Our waiter efficiently served us our drinks and tasty entrees. We had vegetarian omelettes that were perfectly sized with homemade potatoes. We lingered and were never rushed out the door. We will be back!!! read more

Went to Moon Valley Cafe yesterday after not eating there for over 18 months. In the past, I always had a nice experience, but this time around I found the coffee disgusting for $3.25. I would have done much better spending the same amount and getting a Starbucks! I complained but was never given a refund on the coffee. I also was a bit surprised to see that none of the servers were wearing masks, considering a lot of older people go there. Shame on the staff. For this reason, I will not be back, and also for the fact that 2 hours after I had the sandwich with the hollandaise sauce, I got the "runs" for the next 5 hours! I feel the hollandaise sauce was probably sitting out too long. I must have had to run to the bathroom at least 5 times! And, being charged $20.00 for breakfast is outrageous. I had breakfast there last week. I ordered one of the breakfast specials, scrambled eggs, 2 bacon, and a piece of french toast for $4.99, it was really good. Last night I placed a to-go order. I ordered a patty melt. It was so good, and they made it Iike I remember, with grill rye bread, cheese, perfectly grilled onions, and a hamburger patty.  Yum, yum. read more

I dine here 3-5 times a week for yearss I love this place but lately it's gone down hill Fast! They can't keep servers seems they have new servers every month they use to have the same servers for Yearsss... The "manager" Desiree is so unprofessional probably why none of the servers stick around they had an amazing server Sirena for years she was my favorite and I think her sister as well two tall girls with braids they looked like sisters they were both amazing and so nice now all these new girls are here and it's awful so unprofessional no one that takes my order actually brings me my food or refills my drink the manager Desiree is always yelling across the restaurant to the other servers to run her food and is always touching her hair and face or adjusting her boobs and its so gross to watch while I'm trying to enjoy my breakfast the food takes longer to come out recently and there's always something that is cold they rarely come back to check on their tables and it's hard to get a coffee refill from your server usually have to track down the Buss boy for that not to mention they have a stupid robot carrying a Buss tub around almost running into elderly people as they walk by it's ridiculous.. like are we suppose to Buss our own tables now when that thing comes by?! I just wish it was like it was a year ago the whole staff was the best super friendly and my order was always perfect and my server always had it out right away and they were the one to bring it me it was nice! Trying to find a new spot but this is my neighborhood and I love the food hopefully the owner sees this and gets rid of his awful manager Desiree and the unfriendly young dark haired server and gets the old ones back!!! read more

Decided on this for breakfast one Saturday morning via uber eats. French toast was tasty, not too thick and just the right amount of sweet. The platter came with eggs (they were just okay) and 3 meats which was a plus (bacon, ham, and sausage). You'll seldom find a place with 3 meats so that was a nice added bonus! Went by Moon Valley Cafe for breakfast a couple times in the last few weeks. This is a great, no frills, old school breakfast place right in the neighborhood. Almost a classic diner style atmosphere. Service was excellent and the menu is good yet not over complicated. The weekday breakfast deal has 4 or 5 great choices for 5 bucks. Eggs were cooked just as ordered, bacon was crisp but not over done. The wait staff takes good care of you and fills your coffee with perfect timing. If you like good food, good service and good value without the extra fan fare of the chain places, definitely hit this place for breakfast. read more

I've been to Dennys , I-Hop and all these big breakfast places and they're all horrible. Sat at dennys for 10 minutes not even a soul came to say hi or anything. They just don't care about customer service. Moon Valley Cafe took 1 minute for us to walk in, we had our menus and drinks in front of us. It's just way different than them. Treat you with respect and the food is lovely. The owner is awesome and the servers are phenomenal. I will never walk into any other breakfast place other than Moon Valley Cafe. This place is excellent for breakfast! This review is based on the breakfast service and not lunch. Eating out for breakfast is so expensive until I found this gem! It's priced very well for the quality of food and service. They have skillets, omelets, scrambles, hotcakes, waffles, French toast, almost anything you want for breakfast they have. I love warm milk with my breakfast, they are always willing to provide that. Oh their breakfast specials are great! Its from open till 11AM. It's $5 and you get 2 eggs, strips of bacon and the hotcakes or half of a waffle. I get that on top of what I get. Food is fresh I haven't had anything I didn't like. The servers are personable with everyone and are willing to help if you need anything. So if you find yourself in Moon Valley, and are hungry, check this place out. read more

The single most horrid dining experience ever. Construction during breakfast? Are you kidding me?!? For years this place has been a "satellite office" where you could meet people, have a simple but good quality breakfast, wait staff were amazing, all at a locally owned business that's been a staple in the neighborhood as long as I've lived in Moon Valley, over 20 years. Most wait staff we've come to know have left, the food is decidedly not as good, and now this: a breakfast meeting attempting an involved conversation punctuated by concrete being drilled directly adjacent to my table. I'm not a business owner, so maybe I'm misguided, but I would think that if you have a business that makes its mission to serve breakfast and lunch, and you need to have heavy construction done, you might have the contractor do the loud stuff when you're closed? read more

I am not one to give out one stars...so this is going to be difficult. I went to Moon Valley cafe in the hopes of getting Mexican food (they own the place next door), but during the day this portion of their restaurant is closed. Waited for the server for quite a while. I ended up with a beef sandwich and my son had a burger. I order some to go items from their other restaurant for the rest of the family. The sandwich was dry and flavorless. My son (who usually eats a whole burger) only ate a small amount of his food and said he didn't like it. The wait for the food and check was VERY long. Finally was able to get the attention of the waitress....for check and to go items. The food was overpriced, to go items were nonexistent. Sorry I am not waiting another hour for a burrito. First time there this morning, service was a little slow apparently a waitress called in sick. Food came out quick, ham steak and eggs for me and French toast for my wife. Everything was super delicious the 12 grain toast I got with my breakfast was some of the best toast I've ever had. I only had one complaint, jelly selection poor and brand was cheap. A fantastic, inexpensive diner setting on the edge of an old shopping center. I tried the breakfast burrito with meat, bacon, and was amazed at the size of it when they brought it quickly and promptly. Delicious food, fast and friendly service, warm inviting atmosphere. Lox plate was huge and excellent- a grilled bagel with cream cheese, capers, onions and more smooth, smokey buttery lox than I could eat. Wife had eggs bennie and loved it. Pros: *Waitress brought me fruit to substitute the toast I didn't want without me having to ask her. *Waitress was able to make a good omelet recommendation, and the omelet was made differently than at other places; I believe Parmesan cheese was added, which is how some in my Italian family make it. Yum. *They carry locally-brewed organic coffee. *The guy checking me out appeared to be an owner, and he expressed concern about whether I had sat on the side of the restaurant where the air had gone out. I sensed he would have offered a discount if I had. (The air was being fixed when I came in.) *A variety of seating for different size groups, including outdoor seating. *Food got to me quickly. *TV for watching the game. Cons: *Omelet was a bit dry: waitress forgot to bring me salsa when I agreed to it. *Though generally good, some fruit pieces were too cold, like recently frozen, and one of the grapes was obviously a dud and should've been tossed while making the fruit sald. *i was offered no warm-up on my coffee and no refill on my water, even though I sat empty for some time. The coffee tasted watered down. *Actually, now that I think of it, I wasn't visited by the waitress for even a check-in once my food was set down. *Very poorly decorated. They really need to bring in someone who knows what they're doing here. Also, they're implementing some tacky "cover the tables in advertisements" thing. It looks aweful. The place isn't cheap enough to justify supplemented income like that. *Loud; seating too close together. Any one of these little things could've been overlooked, but they add up, unfortunately. Used Uber Eats to have breakfast delivered from Moon Valley Cafe; the driver did fine, but the restaurant completely botched the order. Ordered the English muffins and hash browns extra crispy - they were all nearly raw, goopy - barely cooked (yuck). Ordered extra Hollandaise on the side - there was none. Ordered fruit on the side - there was none. Not only did the restaurant not read the special instructions at all, but they didn't fulfill the order as it was entered in the system (the fruit was a standard option / customer is required to choose a side). It's a shame because the eggs were actually cooked correctly and the Hollandaise had a decent flavor... the problem appears to be quality control (management issue). read more

This is a simple little cafe/diner with a homey vibe and friendly staff. I showed up with my friends having been seated already. Shortly after I sat down I was offered coffee, in fact I was offered refills on my coffee frequently and if I so chose I'm certain my cup would never have been empty. I had the Eggs Benedict, my go-to breakfast dish at a new restaurant. I'm a bit of a picky eater when it comes to eggs, I like a entirely cooked white with a runny yolk. My eggs were poached perfectly! The hollandaise was done very well and overall I really enjoyed my dish. Along side my Eggs Benedict I had home fries, which were wonderful. Good food, friendly staff, relaxing diner atmosphere, all make this place an enjoyable spot to stop and grab breakfast or. Lunch. I usually order the bacon cheeseburger with fries and onion rings.
