We've had a really great experience working with Moon Valley so far. We went there looking for a satsuma mandarin tree in January. They didn't have any on site, but Jae & the manager were able to locate one at a nearby Moon Valley lot and arrange for it to be shipped to us. The process of purchasing & setting up the installation was easy and painless. Daniel contacted me a few days later to confirm that the 811 inspection was set up, and the various utility inspectors all showed up to check my yard within the timeframe he had estimated. The tree delivery was quick and easy as well. Nick & team showed up within the window they had provided; and had everything planted, and set up in about 20 minutes. They did a great job applying the mulch & setting up a ring around the tree to help with the watering. Nick also walked me through the recommended watering/vitamin/fertilizer schedule. We just had our first (of 3) MVP visit this past week and it was super helpful and educational. Ramon gave us a lot of great tips on watering & other nutrition. He went over various ways you can tell if the tree is getting too much / too little water, and other things that we can do to help keep the tree as healthy as possible. He was very meticulous in trimming branches that were either dead or competing with other branches for space. He also treated the soil to help the drainage. Ramon was really happy to explain the what/why of all the things he was doing, which made it a really educational experience for me and left me feeling like I'm in a great place to help the tree thrive. Happy with Moon Valley Torrance. BLUF: Expensive but high quality customer service and great product. I walked into Moon Valley on a Saturday and immediately one of the employees, Jack, greeted me and asked what I was looking for. I got a golf cart tour of the nursery to look at all of the plants for the scope of my project. The following Monday, Jack and the manager, Lacey, was at my property to help provide the design (free) that combined the needs of the site along with the types of plants I wanted. We worked on price and found a solution that worked for both of us. When some of the plants were not available at the Torrance nursery, they worked with the Irvine nursery, who took me through their stock to pick out the plants for my site. The company appears to work well within their network. One thing I would recommend is have Moon Valley plant for you. It adds a bit extra on each plant purchase but IMO it is well worth it. The install crew was on time, professional, and left a clean job site. If I were doing my project again, I would go back to Moon Valley without a doubt. read more

We just had two beautiful trees installed from Moon Valley nurseries. A strawberry tree and a dwarf Mediterranean fan tree. They look fantastic. Jae helped us at the nursery and was very knowledgeable and helped us find the perfect specimens for our yard. We had a wonderful installation experience. The Crew was led by Nick. Nick was extremely helpful and answered all of our questions. His crew was Gordo (Angel) JR, and Alejandro. They were all very professional and kept tweaking the hole depth and tree orientation until it was exactly right for us. I highly recommend Moon Valley nurseries and their professional staff. I bought a medium-large snake plant for indoors and some potting soil here. They were the only nursery around I could find that actually keeps them in stock. Everywhere else makes you order them, and I wanted to pick out ours myself. They gave me an amazing value of a deal because the plant I picked was very dense and will easily be split into other plants and pots in the future. The plant is also healthy and colorful. It has already grown visibly over the past week and a half! The staff team was helpful but not hovering and very friendly. If you ever need to buy plants or trees Moon Valley Nurseries is the place to go to. We purchased a beautiful Forest Pansy tree several months ago. We were not sure how to care for it so we purchased a warranty to help us. They sent us Joel who was so friendly, professional, and knowledgeable about anything green. I bought a single tree and was given a packet with care instructions. None of the information was relevant to my tree so I was left to figure it out with YouTube videos and such. I called and went back to ask questions but was ignored and told they are too busy. The tree I received appeared to be damaged and I had picture to show them but they were not interested. It died within the 1 year time frame but any time I called them they were successful in avoided me. When I went back on-site to speak with them, their attention was focused on bigger customers who were buying large quantities of trees for property that is probably much bigger and nicer than mine. My recommendation is to not go here unless you are a high spending customer. Then and only then might you get attention after your purchase. Also, it is probably less likely they sell you a defective tree (see attachment). read more

Moon Valley is a notably large nursery and also a great place to buy trees! I bought 9 floating podacarpus trees and am very pleased with their service. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable, and they work hard to find the right pricing/products for their customers. Their products are wonderfully cared for and they have a great variety. I worked with Carter for the most part, but everyone was kind and helpful. Daniel and MacKenzie were also very kind, knowledgeable and professional. I can't recall the gentleman's name who sold me my 2nd set of trees, but he too was all that and then some, in THE most positive way! Nick Estrada and his installation crew are especially exceptional Moon Valley treasures! They installed my trees on 2 separate occasions. My initial order did not quite fill in the entire area, so I ordered a few more. I was so impressed with Nick's work ethic, knowledge, and professionalism that I requested that he and his crew install the other trees! During each installation, Nick made sure all my questions were answered and included me in all aspect of the installation -- except the digging, thank goodness ! Installed 50 ft hedge. Three plants returned on September 26 for $905.10 refund. But money has not been received (Nov 20) in spite of repeated promises of "Checks in the mail."
