I've never had bamboo rice until I came here and it is amazing! The sweet chicken kimchi bowl I had today has all the flavors you crave. It's sweet, spicy and a little sour. Perfect combo! Placing an order was also a breeze. I just order online, go to the building and check in on an iPad. But it was not very tasty, needed salt, and included lemon wedge as garnish (weird move). Definitely one of the worst experiences I ever had ordering from a restaurant. My first time ordering and got 2 avocado bulgogi bowls and the cauliflower wings, ordered through their own website on a Monday night. Wait for an hour, open it up, and there is no avocado, no dressing, half the items are missing. I could barely eat any of it. It's impossible to get ahold of anyone to fix it so good luck if you need any customer service, you can't get in touch with the actual restaurant at all. When I got someone on the phone they needed photos for proof... and to make sure the kitchen wouldn't do it again. That's great that you'll follow up with the kitchen to make sure the next customer's experience is better, but what about my dinner? Any refund? They told me they'd take care of me next time I order from them... since I won't be ordering from them again (and recommend you don't either), I asked for a refund because I didn't get what I paid for. I sent the photos via text as was asked of me and didn't get any confirmation or any response. Was then told someone would get back to me within 24 hours. That was 2 days ago. I've been reaching back out trying to get help or speak to anyone helpful and finally now got a refund for the bowls only. Firstly, it shouldn't take this long to actually get help and I shouldn't need to contact so many times. Secondly, I would expect after all this trouble to have someone get in touch with me or offer some kind of olive branch to improve my experience so that I wouldn't put a negative opinion out there. I waited to hear back from them because I didn't want to give a bad review without seeing how they would try to fix it. Obviously we've all had bad experiences at restaurants and I've experienced caring businesses that make sure you end up having a positive experience. Well, I did eventually get a refund (specifically for the messed up items, not the total, and not including tax that I paid on the messed up items) after 2 days of me following up over and over when they told me I'd hear from them sooner, but no one ever reached out to apologize or hear about my experience or anything. Bottom line, if you order from here, you are at risk of paying $15 for a bowl with half the ingredients missing, trying desperately to get any kind of customer service (can't call the restaurant directly), and then spending your work day following up to try and get your money back. There are plenty of other places to get a bowl without this headache so I would recommend just ordering from gusto or something. EDIT: To anyone reading this, regarding the owner's response below, please know that Moonbowls has my email address and phone number and could contact me quite easily if they wanted to. It's crazy to ask that a customer take more time out of their day to help the business "make things right" or to "win me back as a customer." That's not my job. I have not received one phone call, email, or anything from the owner or any other representative. This response to my Yelp review is the only communication I have had with any manager/owner. Had I not posted a review, I would have never heard from them at all. Had I not been so annoying to them for 2 days, I wouldn't have gotten my money back. read more

Fiancé and I found this place on DoorDash, and were so excited by their vegan offerings! I ordered the cauliflower bowl (can't think of the cute name they had for it!) with brown rice and added impossible bulgogi, and he got the avocado impossible bulgogi bowl. Since we were getting it for takeout, I knew getting the cauliflower wings was a toss up, since getting things that should be crispy for takeout can be tough. The portion was filling and the impossible bulgogi was really delicious. Cauliflower didn't stay crispy unfortunately but was still really tasty. Otherwise though I wish my bowl had had more sauce - the "citrus marinated kale" was just plain shredded kale, so not having a sauce for that + the peppers + corn + rice made it a little dry (I added soy sauce). While the bowl was overall good, I'm 50/50 on it we'll go back/get takeout from it again. Maybe on another day when we can eat the cauliflower wings fresh! (Also, this might matter to some people, but it operates out of a commercial kitchen where there's multiple different restaurant/cook options. A dream come true) which I ate on the drive home since I live about an hour away. My roommate and I got the Impossible avocado bowl and the Sesame surprise and both were so good!! The food literally tasted like school cafeteria food when they have "international day". The chicken is dry, BLAND even with the sauce (which they serve on the side), and chewy. I have literally never thrown an order away before but this is so bad, that I think I'm gonna try to eat a few more bites and then throw the rest away. On top of this, getting your order is a confusing process. The parking lot had several signs that said "pick up orders". The building didn't say Moonbowls on it. It didn't even look like a restaurant. I walked in not knowing if I was in the right place. The same counter serves several restaurants. When you walk in, you're in a large room with several tablets on both sides. There is a screen near the counter showing you which orders are ready. Mine was supposed to be ready 5 minutes before I got there, but I waited 15-20 minutes after I got there to receive it. The guy behind the register was gone a lot of the time. When I tried to get answers about my order, there were two guys sitting somewhat near the register who looked at me several times, said nothing to me, and then when back to stare at their phones as I stood there for a minute and a half. There were several other people waiting for their orders sitting at the one table in the middle of the room. One of the guys waiting had no mask on and kept sneezing. They said nothing to him. This food is unbelievably bad. Also, they were out of the rice I ordered so they gave me another option without telling me.
