Wii Play Games is an excellent destination for gamers (new-retro video games, board games), hobbyists, anime fans, and trading card enthusiasts! The store is full of visually appealing items, with so much to see that you'll definitely need to make a second visit just to ensure you didn't miss anything. I was looking for a shop in Las Vegas that sells Pokemon cards, and upon entering Wii Play, I was amazed by the variety and quantity of cards available, from blind-bagged, beautiful rares to graded specimens--they were all there on display! Most importantly, the card selection was great, and I ended up leaving with quite a few handfuls of awesome foiled Pokemon cards. Their prices are fair, sticking within (sometimes below) the current market value or online listed prices. The friendly staff has a no-pressure selling attitude and gives you space to check the cards while also being knowledgeable enough to provide information and insight about your purchases. This has now become one of my go-to shops for Pokemon card hunting and impulse buying anime and gaming fandom merchandise. PS. Went here today because our cousins were in town and we decided to take them on a card shop tour, wii play games was one of our last stops. I was going to purchase some cards, stickers & a pop figure but I decide to take my business elsewhere because of the same rude, dismissive and judgemental woman at the register. Long black hair and thick black glasses, old. My brother wanted to inspect the cards I chosen because wii play games is notorious for overpricing lightly and heavily played cards. Now I typically do not care as long as I really want the cards and i love supporting businesses with good ethics. But when I had asked the woman to see my cards, she had already passed a look to me. I told her that I wanted to see my cards, we could move to the side and that she could help the next customer behind me. I guess she had a hard time understanding what I meant, because she caught even bigger attitude when she asked "did you mean weren't ready when you wanted to look at your cards" in a very condescending tone. Okay, cool you finally understand me! I laughed out loud at the audacity, but I said to her again, "well i did say you could take the next customer so we could look at the cards" and she threw whatever was in her hands on the counter and called for the next customer. At that point I felt gross from her attitude so I just dropped everything and said "you know what, we're good I'm not getting shit here we're leaving" and yes, before I left I told my cousin that "no i'm not getting anything anymore, the lady is being a bitch" out loud so she could hear. not nice, no, but felt justified considering I was being judged for triple checking some overpriced cards. Never going back here and nor am i ever recommending anyone to come again. I had issues with attitude by this repeat woman but I always brushed it off. Nah, never again. read more

This is a really cool treasure trove of a store! It's a blast just walking around in here, especially if you grew up through the different generations of gaming. They carry a huge selection of products here, such as: older gaming consoles and accessories, games, comics, plushes, anime, figurines, D & D books, and Loungefly, to name just a few. Prices are as to be expected for highly valued rare items, but from the prices I saw, I was also amazed at the quality and care that was taken to preserve each item. The shop is great with amazing stuff but the staff that works with the trading cards in the back give horrible service! If they are having a crappy day, they take that frustration out on their customers. I made a call to another store asking about Pokemon cards while I was in the store and the old guy in the back did not like that at all. I was asking about pricing and clearly Wii Play Games had the better deal. I asked the guy if I can buy Pokemon cards and he proceeded to tell me "do you want to call another store before you buy that!" In an irritated voice. Clearly he can't mind his own business and can't be happy that the purchase was being made with them. I was going to buy some anime stuff there but that comment rubbed me the wrong way. The service provided in the back with the trading cards is absolutely horrible. When I'm there they always seem highly upset and the customers should not be there punching bags. The lady that works the register up front is always AMAZING!!! She has GREAT energy and always connects with the customers! They seem to have everything but they also have nothing. I over heard an employee say "sorry I can't let it go for that price. That's probably what we bought it at." Then he went behind the counter and started talking to himself (not a joke. He seemed to actually be talking to himself. maybe he had an ear piece in but i didn't see it.) Weird place wouldn't recommend. Also they have Smash bro melee at $90 dollars. Absolutely crazy prices. they don't even try price match. I told them it was like a $60 game and they told me to just get the better price or eat it. I hate this place and its employees. One of them hadn't showered in so long his hair looked like a wig. Edit: Just found out they have two stores in town one west the other east. The west one has melee at $99.99 the east one is $89.99. you have a choice of how to get ripped off by the same company in the the same town by the same store. read more

The store itself is laid out great and pretty but the owner was scummy. He had a biker look to him. Back in the day, he charged use for credit cards and i'm sure he still does it. Taking advantage of tourists and locals. Then his judgement was pretty gross, he would yell at Pokemon/Yugioh players for doing 1 little thing wrong who didn't buy anything but refuse to ban the trouble makers that gave him money. The card selection is always looked up online to date so you wouldn't really get a deal with the store. Return policy is bad too you might as well shop as gamestop for modern games. Unless the game crashes your console don't expect a refund without a "re-stocking fee". Most las vegas game shops are pretty bad that's why 1/3 closed within the past 10 years. It also rises prices and doesn't honor free prizes. read more

As a lifetime video game player, collector, and admirer I've been to hundreds of game stores across the country and one of my absolute least favourites is Wii Play Games. I first came here in 2020 and pretty much stopped buying this here a year later when two employees treated my wife like an idiot when she came in to buy me a Retron 5 and acted like updating it was rocket science, yet, once they saw me they spoke to me like a human being instead of an idiot. I've popped in occasionally since that trip and each experience has been filled with head scratches and confusion as large amount of games are placed in glass cabinets with no prices on them. Oh, do you want one of those games? Well, they would be happy to look at eBay, see a price, and then add $10 to the average for you. I asked about a Nokia N-Game game like a year ago and watched the guy look for it, find it selling for $45-$50 and then look at me and say $65, no thanks. The biggest red flag in a game store is not pricing items, no thank you, I'll just support all the other stores who actually price things. I stopped in yesterday for one final walk through and it was the same issue with pricing. Now don't get me wrong, for the most part the general employees on the floor have been friendly and helpful whenever asked questions (outside of the incident with my wife) and the store itself does look great, being well decorated with Funko pops, anime, and even a section for card games and board games. The selection? It's solid as well, offering variety for all kinds of different consoles. Overall, I'll never be able to look past the way this place treated my wife like an idiot and the fact that I don't want to give my business to any game shop who can't price items. If I wanted to watch you look on eBay I would have just done it myself. I look forward to not having to drive by this store ever again and if you want games in Vegas, check out Grand Line Games or Retro City Games to find priced inventory and non-sexist employees willing to help you out. read more

I don't know if you've heard, but board games are back in a major way. From competitive to cooperative, they're a great way to bond with friends or get to know a new dating prospect without resorting to going out to eat or watching a movie. I have driven by several times but didn't have a reason to stop til an online search showed that they had a particular game in stock. I like to support local but often find that prices online are better; here they were comparable for what we went in for but high for the more novelty items. Aisles were easy to navigate and we found our game fairly fast without needing assistance. In addition to board games they also have (used?) video games, consoles, and controllers, but a good portion of the store is gift items like Pop figurines. There are tables in the back where people were playing but it was unclear whether the area is set aside for particular events, if there's a membership, or how to access. Service when we checked out was purely functional. Several signs up throughout the store warning about card charges, no refunds for any reason, disc games being sold without display cases, etc. which are a bit of a turn off. Businesses like this thrive on word of mouth, and a bit more attention to service like greeting and informing customers, would go far. read more

I finally had a chance to stop by Wii Play Games the other night with my family. As soon as you walk into the store you're surrounded by video game memorabilia, board-games, video games, video game consoles and much more! If you're a huge gamer, board games, and anime fan, you need to stop by! It's located near Sahara and Rainbow in a large shopping plaza. We were immediately greeted by the staff members and asked if we needed help. The place has a wide variety of used games and new games from all console generations. It's very organized for what Wii Play Games offers. On the right side of the store, there's board-games from family cooperative games, to RPG style games. In the back of Wii Play Games, there looks to be a repair offering (IE: if your console doesn't work, you could bring it here to get it repaired). Also in the back there are plenty of table seating to bring your board-games and do a meet-up to play here. There is snack offerings too with a few different vending machines. This place is wonderful though and I'd recommend it to any avid video gamer, board-game enthusiast. read more

I prefer this location compared to the original on the east side of the valley near Sam's Town. It's located in a much better area, firstly. Also - their selection and their customer service is much better at this store. When they didn't have some of the items at this location, they immediately called the other store to see if they carried what I was looking for. I never received service this efficient at the original location. I will continue to be a loyal customer at Wii Play West. Please don't change a thing. read more

I'm so glad I heard about Wii Play Games on a local Funko Pop Facebook group. I'd recommend going into the store to order vs. their online website to ensure inventory accuracy. The staff at this location are amazing! We visited today to pick up an online pop order and we're greeted by every staff member and they each asked if we needed help during our visit. They have a decent selection of pops and video games, many of which are older that you might not find elsewhere. They have the best selection of TCG I've seen in any store in the area so far. They also have anime figures/collectibles, loungefly bags, and much more! Honestly, the store was a lot larger than I expected it to be. I left with my two pops and quite a few Pokémon booster packs (including Japanese ones) & was happy to have stumbled upon the Naruto Ultimate Ninja Heroes on PSP for $10 (I couldn't resist it!). Wii Play also offers a military discount on certain items which is a great benefit for those that qualify. Just note that there is a minuscule fee for debit card charges, but that's typical of many mom & pop style businesses and if it's a game-changer for you then just come in with cash on hand. read more

This place is heaven!!!! Specialty cards and everything under the sun. My nephews go crazy here. They have all the old school games to current games. This place is always so much fun!!! Love the folders for the cards. They have so many designs to choose from. Plushies of all types and used games as well. The have the most amazing chess boards with such detail. HORRIBLE customer service! DO NOT COME HERE! They're not honest, their manager is extremely unprofessional. I came in for an exchange of an UNOPENED game. To exchange for store credit so I can get another game since I had changed my mind. I got attitude right off the bat by the "manager" a bald middle aged man, when I asked for the change for store credit he said "we are not a rental service" with extreme attitude and a nasty face. Their manager was the only one who had such a problem with the exchange, he needs some serious training on customer service. When I asked for the managers name he told me not to worry about it and didn't want to give me his name because he knew he did wrong. Also their prices are crazy. Go to retro city games at Town Square, definitely more affordable everyone is super helpful and very professional. Do not go here, it's not worth it. Do better Wii play games. read more

Love this place! As an old school gamer and CosPlay gal who worked at EB Games... yes I'm that old and I was in college! This place brought back sooo many memories. Great service from Ian and Brian while selling off some stuff I found in an old closet of memories while Marie Condo'ing. Listening to my rambling while looking through my stuff PS2, old games, 360, DOA4 arcade stick, the guys were able to transform my memories into cash. I wanted these items to go to a local business who can put them into the hands of collectors, young people or just people like me that want to remember simple times vs. just collecting dust in my walk in closet. I came to Wii Play just around closing and was in and out, the customer service was quick and very satisfying. My HUGE gripe is that these people CLEARLY don't test the things they sell. I have owned this Zelda Edition Wii U for no more than 40 minutes, only turned it on once, and did not modify or alter the system in any shape or form; And the fucking thing is bricked. Error code 160 0101. I paid ~550$ RIGHT after leaving my own job early to pick this up before Wii Play closed; just to be ripped off and extremely disappointed. I now have to wait until tomorrow to go back and waste time on my day off to solve an issue that shouldn't have ever been on my plate. TEST. THE. HARDWARE. Initially, when I found this place I thought it was awesome! Lots of pops and stocked up on Pokémon! Then starting last year, I noticed some fishy things. First, price gouging. Second, I was opening packs from Pokémon and literally pulling the same cards in different boxes. Then finally, I saw a pack missing from one of the shining fates boxes. This is shady af! Makes me think they're weighing the packs. And the first X-Men game for the Sega genesis got a real good deal on both games and got excellent service. This is by far my favorite game store. They have such a huge selection I can go in over and over and still see new stuff every single time. They are very patient and attentive, without being annoying and constantly asking if you need something. They don't mind browsers. I go in lots of times just to look at the cool stuff. They are always friendly, and even offered solutions for my damn xbox 360 to be sent off for repairs. They offer disc scratch removal too! My husband says he hasn't felt this comfortable in a game store since Asgard. They have a public space for people to play games in back. Tables are clean and open to everyone. This isn't a bad place at all for the average video game, anime, and comic book fan. There are 2 locations, one on Nellis Blvd, and the other on Rainbow. Out of the 2, the Rainbow location (this one) is much cleaner and more "put together" than the Nellis location, but both locations are nice and hold the same practices. The prices here are all basically at "retail", as in the retro games are all for sale at prices that you would get off of PriceCharting.com or eBay, which is ok (they ARE a business after all), but a lot of stuff there is pretty pricey and can hurt the wallet. The prices for their memorabilia (shirts, funko pops, etc) are all regularly priced and not bad at all. This location is like a paradise for pop culture. I am a giant retro game and anime fan, and they have even more than that. They, of course, have your mainstream anime stuff like Attack on Titan and Naruto, but they do have onesie twosies of others sprinkled in. They also sell board games, table top RPGs, puzzles, trading card games (some you've probably never heard of or seen anyone play like Weiss Swartz), shirts, game consoles, figures, and more. You will honestly need to come by yourself because if your wife is anything like mine, she'll get bored as you are an hour and a half in, and you've only looked at a quarter of the store! Everything is organized nicely, and they all have their own section of the store. They even have fancy-looking reproduced cases for all of the cartridge games so they're easy to find and pleasing to the eye (the cartridges are actually in the back, not in the cases). The customer service, at least at the front (or I guess you would call it the center) is really good. They always greet you with a smile, and are ALWAYS interested and knowledgeable with the stuff they sell. I have never had an issue, and I have been coming for years. The counter in the back that holds the GameBoy games, though, I have had some snarky attitudes here and there, but never to the point where I wouldn't come back. I'm 32, I'll live! Overall, while the prices of this store are often very high, the customer service is typically great, and the presentation of the store, itself, is worth at least a visit to look around and see all of the great stuff! As much as I enjoy my new PlayStation 5, I miss the older PlayStation games I grew up in my childhood and I'm glad to find a store with amazing games at an amazing low prices. Every gaming store in Las Vegas has the games in high prices like it's brand new as this store honor the resell value to not break the bank or my wallet. The best part is they maintain the games like new. Buying a PS2 or GameCube game, they'll clean up the scratches and damages the disc may had before. This store doesn't just have games but there accessories, controllers both first and third party, chargers and batteries, anything you might need for your console they'll have it. Better than Amazon or eBay. The store also got a lot of pop culture items like funko pop and action figure, Pokémon cards and many board game's accessories and more. What truly made me give the five stars was that I bought a PS2 system for a great price, bought a couple games and a memory card and all were taken care of and clean out as if I bought it back then. They really care about the items, but most of all the customers. You're not just buyer they want to extract your money.
