I contacted Mooney and sons when my daughter's car broke down at the Shell station across the street. It was the coldest day of the year so far and her battery just up and died while she was pumping gas. I was able to call and arrange for a battery replacement within a couple of hours. They replaced the battery for the amount quoted which was reasonable and it's very nice to be able to still have local auto repair places that You can trust. read more

If I could give this family owned business 10 stars, I would. I was recently in Cleveland visiting for the weekend and had car trouble on the way into town. I was immediately concerned because I didn't think I'd be able to find anywhere to get it looked at on the weekend. Saturday morning after calling many shops that advertised open weekends and the ability to work on German cars, I called Mooney and Sons. I was surprised that the gentleman on the phone told me to bring it right on over. I limped it over there and was immediately greeted my Mr. Mooney and his sons who started looking at my car and trying to figure it out. They told me to leave it there and that they would treat it like it was their own. They called me by Saturday night and told me it was fixed. I went to pick it up Monday morning and almost fell out of my chair when they only charged me $300 for working on the alternator, AC and replaced my serpentine belt. On a Saturday! Throughout the process, I felt like this family genuinely wanted to help me and get me back on the road. Something you don't see very often these days when dealing with auto repair shops. In from out of town and stopped for gas. Their cheapest per gallon is $4.50!!! Spent almost $20 on 3-4ish gallons before I caught it. There's a shell gas station right next door that's selling the same gas for $3 per gallon. Idk what kinda shell corp racket these guys are running but that is just robbery. My experience is Mooney and Sons over promise service delivery when it comes to arranging towing . I called several times on June 2, 2023 for a tow from a residential garage , each time being promised a follow up call from a driver when the truck was on the way . I waited an entire day and received no call. Fortunately I was at home . Given the response from Mooney and Sons I would be reticent to recommend them for towing. At the end of the day I called a competitor and the truck came within 60 minutes. read more

Mooney and Sons towed my car off of private property while we were on vacation. The car was 4 days old and had less than 500 miles on it. They damaged the vehicle and dragged it across their lot. They have refused to pay for the damages. Claiming that they didn't do it. It is obvious the damage was theirs. It was a brand new vehicle and they did not know how to tow it without the keys to put it into neutral and they decided to drag it across the parking lot. Our hot rod convertible shredded the alternator belt and we were a half mile from home. We called Mooney Towing and they were FANTASTIC! They were dropping off a vehicle very near our car and showed up very quickly. Dropped our "baby" safely in our garage - in time to beat the rain that was closing in. Mooney Towing saved the day!!! My husband was quoted 30minutes. Below freezing temperatures. Over an hour and a half later no one, no call. My husband may have hypothermia. No idea what will happen to his extremities. If you care about staying alive and keeping your feet and fingers don't use these horrible people. I was scheduled to get my car picked up and received a call saying he was on his was and we would meet at the pickup location in 15-20 minutes. I immediately went to the pick up point and an HOUR later called to ask where he was and he said he hasn't left yet... 30 min later he calls and says he's on his way... 30 min later he finally arrives. My car broke down on the highway and locked up. I am an 18 year AAA member and they said they would not get to me until 7pm. I called at 4. I then called Mooney and sons, and Michael delivered the best customer service I've ever had in my 25 years of life. No joke. He got to my car within 15 minutes of the call, and had it back to the dealership I bought it at before they closed. He has not even asked for my credit card to pay him for his services yet!!! I was traveling through Ohio when my alternator died. I was stuck in the middle of an interstate exit ramp at 3pm on a Friday afternoon with a dead vehicle, a wife, two kids and 800 miles yet to go. Google 'mechanics near me' and Mooney's popped up. Within 30 minutes of my call they had towed us, diagnosed the problem, and ordered us a part. We were back on the road within 90 minutes of the breakdown! On a Friday afternoon! They could have easily let us sit until Monday. On top of that, they charged us what I felt was a very reasonable price; they had us in a bad spot, and I would have paid almost any price to get home. Can't say enough about this place! read more

When my car broke down on the road, a friend recommended to call Mooney Towing as this was a local shop. I'm glad I did. Mr Mooney promptly arrived in his flatbed truck, loaded my car on it and proceeded towing it. I don't know why their trucks are so high off the ground, but I was helped both in and out, without any attitude or criticism. In fact, I was treated with the utmost respect, this place is very professional and efficient. Mr Mooney even went over and above his duties to personally call my insurance company to make sure I will get reimbursed for the tow. That was very thoughtful. So this happened to me Thursday night about 6:30pm! My gear shift cable broke and Garfield police called Mooney and Son to tow my vehicle. I thought it would be cool since tbe police department recommended him. However, this proved to he false and was the start of a extra stressful night because after this man towed my van from the scene he took it to his shop on Chagrin and refused to tell me when he would take it to the shop I told him to tow it to. About midnight he got extra rude when I told him that I have never had a tow company not immediately tow where I requested nor wouldn't even give me a time that he would get it to the shop. He didn't tow it until 8am this morning to the location I told him to. He literally kept my vehicle for 13 hours against my will and at a location that I did not approve!! He then billed my insurance $216 to tow 25 miles!!! This man, Denny, and his company are the worse ever, very unprofessional and I would avoid them like the plague or COVID!! read more

Couldn't have been happier with my experience of getting towed. My car broke down on the highway in the middle of the night and the truck was there to get me in 30 minutes. We went to the shop and tried solving the problem ourselves. We got it running but I wanted to take it to a dealer for maintenance anyway. The tow driver gave me a ride to a hotel and even picked me up in the morning. Called for a tow from Lakewood to Avon not knowing they were located in Beachwood. The immature employee I spoke to could have simply notified me that they are located in Beachwood and advise me to try someone else. Instead he starts telling me to "use my brain" and let his ego get the best of him. When I notified him that the review will reflect his actions, he became more immature and started claiming I was threatening him. Very rude and not recommended. read more

We were traveling threw the area on 4/28/13 and our old suburban quit running at the intersection by their service station. It was a sunday and they were closed but the neighboring business knew their home phone number and called them. They came to our rescue worked on our suburban for 7 hours after he finished up another car so he could get ours in. it was a quarter to ten Sunday evening when they finally got us going.
