So happy to have gone the extra mile to get to MoonGoat in Laguna Beach! We passed the usual big guys & had our first cup of the day during our vacation here! They were so welcoming & had the patience of a GOAT while we made our decision. My husband said he had the best cappuccino ever which is impressive considering we are HUGE coffee aficionados! I had a Pumpkin Spice Koatji Latte and no sugar added. Which I was a bit iffy about since I like a little sweetener in my cup. I was glad I didn't because I would have missed out on the natural delicious taste of this coffee! The milk is made from rice & oats so digestively it was nice to my stomach that was in shambles from east coast to west coast travels in less than 24 hours. My daughter had their Ubi Cold Foam Iced Latte which was quite a treat! I also ordered their banana bread which seems to be low in sugar but great taste! Didn't do my homework there... but it was a nice compliment to my order. Great drive thru experience! Check them out if in the area! read more

I am so excited to see there is now another location for Moongoat Coffee! This location is in North Laguna, a little away from downtown, which has its benefits to be a little away from the crowds. The one downside though is that it is only drive-through so there is no place to sit down and hang out, unlike the Costa Mesa location, and the spot is located awkwardly in the corner where the entrance off PCH is for drive through and the entrance off the cross street is for mobile orders only. But that being said....mobile orders offering? Take advantage: since it is drive through and there is limited street parking, you might as well order ahead of time and pick up your coffee to bring elsewhere. There's tons of cool little spots along the coast to sit and enjoy your coffee with a beautiful view. The coffee is delicious, i have had both the plain regular coffee as well as the lattes: last time I got the churro and it was such a treat: it takes like Fall! I think this is worth a visit if you're in the area! read more

Great coffee AND friendly people! What a rare combination!! This place is really cool and they had quick-ish service, easy to pull up, and they even had a little walk up window in between both sides of the drive-thru areas. We didn't do a mobile order but one of the sides of their building is for mobile orders only so that makes your ordering really fast we'll try that next time!! read more

Sam, thanks for your response but the issue is that there are no clean, minimal ingredient, organic milk alternatives here. The employees told us what was available and it was only milks with long ingredient lists and multiple additives. I know I'm not the only one who would like clean organic milks here. We drive out from the IE for the coffee! So delicious. I love their vanilla lattes, and the churro is wonderful. croissants are nice and flakey as well! For the chocolate croissants they add the chocolate portion in themselves. read more

Soooooooo bummed this place went downhill so fast... they used to serve drinks made with Strauss organic whole milk, and I would drive out of my way to come get drinks made with quality milk. A unicorn in a coffee shop - organic milks! I happily paid $5+ for a tiny hot beverage because it was QUALITY. Without notifying customers, MoonGoat quietly switched to Alta Dena milk, arguably the worst milk on the market. Gross. And with no price cut on drinks either. So I am paying the same $5+ for a drink of far-inferior quality. Not cool. I'd pay more if given the option... They have also had issues with quality control for their house made almond milk. I once had a cappuccino made that was so salty it was undrinkable. I notified management and they offered me a free drink, which was greatly appreciated. They have also shared that they have had issues with quality control for the almond milk... probably not their fault, but that was my only acceptable milk option left. Last time I went they were out of the almond milk, and the minor figures oat milk is not organic and contains crappy oils and gums. So we just left without drinks upon our last visit. For YEARS, in fact for as long as I can remember, we have waited for a coffee shop to open in this cute little drive through. In the beginning, MoonGoat was everything we had hoped for... shout-out to the incredible matcha spritzer, house made chai, pumpkin spice latte, and most notably: the NOLA. Exceptional. Staff here are all great, the drinks are delicious and creative, but I am appalled that Alta Dena is considered an acceptable substitute for Strauss milk. It's not. Please switch to something half-decent, like Organic Valley or Grassmilk, or offer us an option to pay more for quality. I have been a loyal patron since the beginning, PLEASE don't cheap up like every other place in town. I know rent is high, and cuts have to be made where you can, but people also expect to pay a lot when you get coffee in Laguna Beach. Maybe charge an extra $1 for organic milk? I'm sure most tourists don't care about what trash they put in their bodies while in vacation mode, but myself and many other locals have been talking about this switch and have chosen to boycott your business until you switch back or at least offer organic milk options. Sending this with love and hope, we look forward to returning to MoonGoat once quality becomes a priority again! read more

i used to make the 30 min drive here once a week for their strawberry / ube cold foam matcha. it was worth the drive and the outrageous $9 price they r charging. i LOVED this place and it makes me so sad to leave such a poor review. the first photo shows what the matcha looked like in october 2024: the color was perfect, and it tasted like actual matcha. the second and third photo shows the matcha i got today (feb 2025.) it has no matcha taste, the color is like a weird beige green, and it just tastes like straight whole milk. i really hope y'all go back to the matcha and or recipe that you were using in october, it was so much better :(. please fix this moongoat! and also bring back the strawberry matcha lol. read more

The past 2 summers I have gotten the strawberry latte with strawberry cold foam and it's amazing. Service has usually been good and fast but the last two times I have been this August, service has been slow, bagels are always sold out (even at 9am), and the strawberry cold foam was missing from my drink. Maybe it was just the day I ordered, so I'll of course give them another try. I still recommend going here to try it out. read more

MoonGoat is really killing the game by have a drive thru coffee shop that is good quality coffee and friendly employees. My friends and I came here because we saw it a few times in passing and just had to try it! I ordered the iced churro latte and it was amazing. It had a subtle coffee flavor and wasn't too sweet! My friend who got a matcha, really enjoyed hers because it didn't have that grassy taste like some do. A really cute place to check out! read more

Most of the time their coffee is very good and the staff is friendly. They made some big improvements when Kai became the manager. He's concerned about quality control and I have seen him testing the products. It there's ever an issue and you ask them politely they will respond in kind. I love my drink here and the drive thru concept is my favorite. Great location by the beach! Drinks are made super fast and the staff is nice. I get their seasonal slushy which is an orange creamsicle with matcha and it is delicious-- a crave for sure. My only thing is the price :/ it's about $8 for a medium. I was passing through Laguna beach and saw this spot on Yelp and figured I'd give it a try. Sadly, while the staff was super pleasant, my latte was not. It was watery and milky and had maybe a slight coffee essence. It was supposed to be a strawberry latte but I tasted zero strawberry. A bit of a bummer after I paid $8+ with tip. The coffee is always okay...nothing great, but if you're in the area and desperate, it'll do. We went recently and ordered the banana bread with our drink...boy was it bad! Chalky, grainy...almost like someone accidentally dumped sand in the batter and thought, "meh, no one will notice." Best crafted coffee for coffee lovers in Laguna Beach. I get the dirty Chai Latte with oat milk and it's absolutely delicious. Our oldest loves their signature espresso. My husband loves their churro latte (worth noting this is a really sweet drink). So happy they opened here in Laguna. Some other highlights are their yogurt parfait, salted chocolate chip cookie and vegan overnight oats. read more
