Unlike some others, he was never pushy and that made me feel more comfortable about working together going forward. He estimated that the entire project (leveling the backyard, building a short wall, French drain, and adding gravel) would take 2 weeks and they finished ahead of schedule. I am so happy to finally have a usable, outdoor space! If I ever want to do more with the hill, I will use KB Landscape for sure.

The crew installed all the plants, decomposed granite, and irrigation perfectly. Our architect also commented that she really liked the crew and that Juan in particular was very knowledgeable. Not to mention Juan is just a really nice guy and was open to the small changes we had to make as we were doing installation. In total it took three weeks to complete the entire project. His crew was great and Juan also works with them, he doesn't just only project manage. He was here all day nearly every day with the crew. It's a small company but they do great work, pay attention to detail like grading, and clean up after themselves every day. They did such a good job, after he finished we asked him to help redo a fence later as well and also continue to come biweekly to maintain the yard.

The problem was that I had been waiting at the correct location the entire time. Before the appointment, I had both verbally and in writing asked them to make sure they did **not** go to a different address in another town. The receptionist confirmed that the estimator had gone to the wrong address and assured me he would come to the correct one. Unfortunately, after waiting another hour, I never heard from the estimator or the office. My attempts to call the office also went unanswered. At that point, it became clear that no one was coming and no one was going to let me know. Mistakes happen, but what disappointed me most was the lack of communication and professionalism. GCSF wasted more than 90 minutes of my time and couldn't extend the courtesy of a simple phone call or update. Based on this experience, I can't recommend them.

For months, we called and followed up multiple times regarding the issues with the irrigation and the condition of the work, and we were repeatedly ignored. You were aware of who we were despite the Yelp review being under a different name because we were the ones consistently reaching out with no acknowledgment. Regarding the irrigation issue: the damage wouldn't have occurred if your crew had properly capped the existing irrigation before installing the pavers. The fact that you had to redo a section later at no charge doesn't negate that the issue was caused by your team's oversight in the first place. Had you taken responsibility and communicated with us when we initially reached out, we wouldn't have had to resort to a public complaint. It's disappointing that it took a Yelp review to get any kind of acknowledgment.

There are 3 big projects for which we contracted with Zarco Landscaping, because they continually performed above and beyond on the work. The first project was for a room that would flood when it rains. The team at Zarco quickly diagnosed the problem as poor gutter placement and cracks in concrete on the floor above, and they worked rapidly to connect a new sewer system and rebuild our concrete walkway. There has been no more flooding. The second project was to improve the terrain and usability of our backyard, which is on a hill that was very difficult to navigate. The Zarco team completely transformed the area, building stone steps and leveling the land with premium soil, mulch, and stone. Please see the attached photos (we wish we had before pictures, but it was all dirt and invasive plants before on a steep incline)! Lastly, our third project had to be done rapidly after the recent storms in the bay area. We needed three very large and dead trees removed that were at risk of falling on our house or the street. The Zarco team came the next day to remove all of the trees. Overall, the Zarco team has always delivered amazing service and treated us with respect. The prices are also very reasonable and competitive with quotes we received from other businesses. His team helped me assemble the pergola I purchased and put in the footings, and they were able to accommodate my requests on low voltage lighting and hexagon deco tiles. Eric himself was professional, incredibly responsive and very easy to work with. It's clear he cares about the quality of the work, and he's not there to just "do a job" that you paid him to do. He'll make sure to ask questions and clarify things if he's unsure, and he'll look out for things that you won't have thought of, or suggest improvements. All of this was also done at a very fair price, and it was clear the team were doing things properly from getting a level foundation, laying down base rock, and cutting and laying pavers.
