    Food is fantastic!!!

A Hidden Gem in the Mountains! Moons Korean Kitchen is hands-down one of the best surprises tucked away in Kyburz! The food is bursting with flavor -- authentic, comforting, and clearly made with love. We had the bulgogi and kimchi fried rice, and every bite was incredible. Portions were generous, and everything came out hot and fresh. The owners are so kind and welcoming -- you truly feel like you're being served a home-cooked meal by family. It's rare to find a spot that feels this personal and delicious in such a remote location. Whether you're passing through or planning a trip to the area, make sure to stop here. It's worth the drive. Don't miss it!

Kimchi Fried Rice - by far the best I ever had 5stars

Price was a bit much but the flavors can't beat. The kimchi fried rice was bomb totally recommended

Every time I drive through 50 I always noticed this little joint and today we decided to try since we were already fueling up next door and let me tell you!!! I don't know why I never stopped here before sooner , that rice was so fireee and by that I mean it was delicious one of the best fried rice I ever had , the mild spicy definitely has a kick and every bite you take you'll taste few different things! I recommend it!

I'm angry. I'm so angry. It's been a few days since I came here. I hadn't had a meal at all that day on my long drive including stops due to exceedingly long lines or just being forgotten about and then I got here. And honestly I cannot blame the hunger for why this is the best Korean food I have ever had--including all the Ktown restaurants in LA It's not much to look at outside, not fancy, easy to pass (unless you're starving, have to pee, and love Asian food) and wow I'm glad I stopped. I ordered the pork bulgogi and I stopped breathing for a moment when I took my first bite of kimchi...hard to find a truly perfect kimchi. This was the best kimchi I ever have had. I had to decline more because I already knew I was going to need a box. The pork bulgogi I did spice level two and it was just spicy enough for me. Why am I angry after a fantastic (and peaceful with the calm music and it being empty while I was then) meal? Because I live 7 hours away. 7 hours. If I ever go back to Tahoe, I'll be back without a doubt.

Egg drop soup DELICIOUS! Flavor transcends the dish.

I've had the pleasure of eating at this restaurant now several times and I've had the pleasure of talking to the owner Mr. Moon himself. Given his small space this man makes his restaurant a very welcoming space and the flavor profiles he can achieve using the most basic of ingredients is nothing short of cooking excellence and passion for the craft! I Highly recommend you stop by if your ever in Silverfork CA on your way to Tahoe that you stop and eat here Mr. Moon won't disappoint. Keep on rocking Mr. Moon you have my support!

Absolutely delicious Korean food in this surprising hole in the wall. The chef was so busy handling everything by himself and there was a bit of a wait but it was worth it. Very casual dining vibe, comfortable and nice after a long day of driving.

    Quick glimpse of the menu.

We really enjoyed coming here from Lake Tahoe. It's a bit of a drive from Lake Tahoe but the small no frills all taste was definitely worth it. The restaurant has been running for three months and Mr. Moon is a one man show! From speaking to him, he has over 20 years of experience in the restaurant business and he finally made his dream of owning a restaurant a reality. I'm really rooting for him to succeed with this restaurant because he's one of the good guys. Why? The previous restaurant had a no bathroom unless you're a customer policy but Moon has changed that. His reasoning is they are travel quite far to get to Tahoe and people need to go. He also takes care of the neighborhood cats when the owner is out of town. Just a good dude who can cook a mean Korean dish. You have to root for that. We will visit here every time we visit Tahoe. Hopefully his restaurant will gain a lot of traction!

We were a group of 11, and I had to say our experience was very similar to another reviewer here, (Elite Marlane R.) The guy punk white dude taking our order was also the one bringing out the food, and his attitude was honestly shocking. When we politely asked if we could switch coffee to Coke, he immediately said no in a loud, irritated tone, saying Coke costs more than coffee. For us, the price difference wasn't even an issue, it was the way he spoke to us that felt disrespectful. At one point, I was just looking toward the door, and he suddenly asked me, "What are you looking at?" in a loud voice, as if I was staring at him. It was uncomfortable and unnecessary, especially since it drew attention from everyone around. Despite the poor service, we still made the effort to clean up after ourselves, busing our plates and making sure the table was neat before leaving. To the owner of Thai Noodle Express, I hope you can train your staff on how to properly treat customers. Good service goes a long way. On top of everything, the Pad Thai did not taste authentic. Very disappointing overall. I wouldn't recommend this place based on our experience.

The noodles are soooo long it was a bit tricky to eat at first. Im sure there's a better technique than what I was doing. I also got the strawberry green tea which was DELICIOUS! This lunch special is HUGE and an incredible value at $20.95. It includes your choice of one of five noodle dishes, a side of either two chicken wings or a lamb skewer, cucumber salad, and an iced tea. I honestly couldn't believe how much food they packed into one meal. I ordered the Braised Beef Noodle Soup and loved that you can choose your hand pulled noodle style. I picked the thin flat noodles, and while they're delicious, I don't recommend them for soup because they tend to clump together. Next time I'll definitely order the thin or medium thin noodles instead. Lesson learned! The flat noodles would probably be amazing in one of their stir-fried dishes. The chicken wings were plump, juicy, and flavorful. The cucumber salad was refreshing, but fair warning...it is LOADED with garlic. Delicious if you're a garlic lover...and you'll definitely be safe from vampires afterward! The sweet black iced tea was the perfect finish. It wasn't overly sweet and paired really well with the rich broth. Overall, this lunch special is a fantastic deal with generous portions and delicious food. I walked out completely stuffed, happy, and seriously considering a post lunch nap. If you're looking for authentic hand pulled noodles and a meal that gives you plenty of bang for your buck, Highland Noodles is definitely worth a visit. I'll absolutely be back!

I enjoy having conversation and feeling taken care of at a restaurant, this provides a disconnect and makes things off putting. Menu does not have prices. This is concerning as a patron and dissolves the little trust built. Taro Ube Boba was amazing, although the consistency of the boba was starting to get gummy. it was towards the end of the day, and happens at most restaurants. 5/5 We ordered the octopus balls and were accidentally given the gyoza - it was pleasant. So there I was... sitting on an oil rig in Alaska, talking to a sheriff's deputy with over 20 years…read moreon the job. He says, "My buddies keep telling me about this place called Pho King Good." Funny part? Even he had never been there. Well, that little story stuck with me. Fast forward a few weeks. My road trip partner, Koda, and I are heading home from Disneyland, cutting through Sacramento toward Grass Valley. We roll into Auburn and BOOM there it is. Pho King Good. Now let's just take a second to appreciate that name. If you're gonna swing for the fences with a name like Pho King Good, you've set the bar about as high as Mount Everest. You don't get to be "pretty decent." You'd better make me question every bowl of pho I've ever eaten. The sign? Absolutely iconic. It practically jumps out and hollers at you from the side of the road. Easy in, easy out. Road-tripper approved. Walking inside, though, I was expecting a little more "Pho King Palace" and a little less "we've been meaning to remodel since the Clinton administration." The marble counter looked nice enough, but the place just felt like it needed a little love. If I owned a restaurant with a name that good, I'd lean into it. Give me lanterns. Give me atmosphere. Make me feel like the King just walked in. Charge me another couple bucks if you have to I wouldn't mind if the experience matched the name. Then came the menu. It felt a little like Dysfunction Junction. They had everything listed, but it wasn't organized in a way that made ordering easy. Give me sections. House Pho. Beef Pho. Chicken Pho. Special Pho. Help a hungry traveler out. The food? Solid... right down the middle of the road. After hours in the car, a hot bowl of pho hits the spot no matter what. Koda really enjoyed his chicken dish, and our vegetable egg rolls with the peanut sauce were decent, although the wrapper was just a touch on the rubbery side. The owner was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely hospitable, which always counts for something. My only real disappointment was this: with a name like Pho King Good, I expected to leave saying, "That's the best pho I've ever had." Instead, I left saying, "That was... good." And then came the plot twist. Time to pay. Cash only. So now I'm walking out to the ATM like I'm making a withdrawal for a back-alley poker game or a dispensary run. I'm standing there thinking, "Well... this tip just took a hit because I wasn't planning on paying an ATM fee for my noodles." I still don't quite understand it. You're giving change, printing receipts, running a business... we're already 95% of the way to taking cards! Overall, this wasn't about whether the food was amazing or terrible. It was about the experience. Sometimes that's the story worth telling. Would I stop again on another road trip? Probably. Because sometimes a bowl of pho, your best buddy Koda riding shotgun, and a restaurant with the greatest pun in California are all you really need. And if they ever decide to polish the place up and make it live up to that legendary name... It might just become Pho King Great.

VEGAN SIGHTING!!! I…read moredon't even know where to start my fellow vegans. This quirky, Vietnamese restaurant in the city of Auburn, CA, has by far the best vegan Banh Mi sandwich. The tofu was prepared so it did not take up the whole sandwich. The pickled radish and carrots had the perfect and balanced of sour and sweet. Of course, can't leave out the herbs of cilantro and fresh jalapinjoes. The french bread was crispy outside but still soft and hearty as you take a bite. My earth was it a 2 thumbs up!!! Then their vegan pho with veggies and tofu did not disappoint. Their veggie broth was perfectly blended and made wonderfully that I was not even thinking this was vegan. The staff was kind and informative. They were attentive and friendly. Then comes the merch. If you like a play on the word Pho, then come and check out their shirts for sale. All I have to say is "Life is Pho king good." With this said, another gem in Auburn, CA.
