At the time of service it was slow. Only like 1-2 customers ahead of me. Restaurant was clean and in good order. Staff were nice. I believe this is a black owned and operated business so I'm in full support of that. I ordered the grilled chicken with mashed potatoes and red beans and rice. And my friend ordered the meatloaf with Mac and cheese and mashed potatoes. I was pissed that they didn't have any smoked wings available or collard greens. This was @ like 6pm on a Wednesday and they don't close until like 9. AND THEY DONT SELL BAKED BEANS!!!!! What bbq place don't sell baked beans omg . That was hard for me to understand...but I got thru it. Aside from the upset of not being able to get some collard greens like I wanted, the only other problem I had with this place was the small portion on my plate. The grilled chicken plate comes with 1 piece of chicken and 2 sides. And that chicken was soooooooo small. I was looking at my plate like, "where's the rest??" Looking under the plate and all. That was disappointing. For $17 that was kind of a cash grab. Even longhorn sell a chicken entree that comes with 2 pieces and 2 sides and it's around the same price point...I'm just saying. The flavor for the chicken however was great and the chicken wasn't dry so I was happy for that. Rating; Grilled chicken 5/10 for such a tiny piece and the price Meatloaf 10/10 If you like meatloaf...yesssssssss Mashed potatoes 6/10 It gives box or bagged mashed potatoes not authentic. Red beans and rice 8/10 It also doesn't taste authentic, more like Zatarain's. It wasn't bad tho, the flavors just weren't developed like I had wished. But the sausage they add to it helps give it a push. There is a $1.50 upcharge for this side. Mac and cheese 4/10. It's not your g-mas Mac. It's not horrible but I wouldn't recommend it. Too gooey/wet and I don't mean cheesy. This side is also $1.50 upcharge They have some refreshing house made punch which we tried 'Citrus Punch' not bad. Minty but not overpowering. For a hot day, it's quenching. This place is small but big enough to hold maybe 20 ppl at once and sits in a big plaza so parking is never a problem and always free. Hopefully they have the items I want the next time I'm ever in town. I wouldn't mind coming back.

Had an expired Groupon which they were nice enough to honor! That was the good thing. I ordered the chicken breast and Mac & Cheese to go after explaining that I don't eat beef or pork, only chicken, that was the bad thing. After a 10 minute drive, I found the chicken grizzly and there was bacon in the Mac & Cheese so I couldn't even eat it! GROSS!!

My grandma says she was craving some barbecue ribs and I said no problem pulled out my Yelp app and search for bbq ribs near me. I called this location first before I came just because it is about 15 minutes away from my house which feels longer due to the long wide roads. No one answered so I just drove instead. And I arrived there was not much people the place was clean neat and organized service was fast and I also took advantage of my Yelp check in for a 20% discount. I ordered a full rack of ribs entrée they came with one side and a corn bread or garlic bread. I ordered the ribs with barbecue sauce on the side just because my grandparents are picky and I'm happy I did because it almost didn't need barbecue sauce. And there is a lot of meat on the bones as well which is a huge plus for me! I also ordered A shrimp skewer entrée that also came with one side and garlic bread. In my opinion the shrimp was a little bit over seasoned in my opinion of course. They also have their own juice which was really good I highly recommend the citrus punch it's like mint basil mixed with lemonade I believe it's so yummy and refreshing. They also have these baked goods of cookies that are delivered to them I believe weekly called Miami Cookies Co, decided to give it a shot. The cookies are thin And pretty good no complaints.

What a fun, New Orleans feel. This has a great creole style inspired food selection. We were so impressed with the mushrooms! They're roasted with such a wonderful flavor. The serving sizes are pretty big too and the spice sneaks up on you.

Fall off the bone, dryrub baby back ribs and texas toast

Totally legit! I got the baby back ribs dry rubbed, with their sauce on the side and the grilled veggies with candied pecans. The food was so so good! The ribs were cooked perfectly and the meat literally fell off the bone!!!!!!!! Even before i put sauce on i wanted to taste the meat with just the dry rub and it was great... well seasoned with flavor through and through. The sauce was thick but light. I can tell it was made with real ingredients.. not a bunch of sugar and syrup. And the grilled veggies!!!!!!!! Now i found it pretty random to put candied pecan in grilled vegetables... bit when i tasted it... i wondered y i had never had this before... worked perfectly... the veggies were savory and the pecan provided a slight sweet aftertaste that worked really well. IT'S DEFINITELY A MUST TRY! This was so good i can't wait to try their other offerings .. highly recommend!

I found Moore Fire Grill on Sample Rd just off 441 when it popped up somewhere on my socials. My husband loves bbq, so we wanted to try it. It was amazing! This is a small, black veteran owned mom and pop place. It's owned by a husband and wife who are from Louisiana and he was apparently a chef for an Emeril restaurant. (I read that somewhere too) We had a half rack ribs with a delicious bbq sauce baked in with Mac and cheese and potato salad and a crazy cheeseburger with maple bacon jam with fries. This is not diet food. Everything was delicious. The Mac and cheese was probably the weakest link and it was good. My only complain would be they serve everything in to go plastic containers with plastic silverware and no plates‍ (hard to cut ribs) and no Diet Coke only Coke Zero (no judgement, I like Diet Coke lol). Give them a try. Everything was really excellent.

2 Cokes at $3.75 not added yet!

Being in the mood for ribs we came across MFG on YELP and it ticked of all our boxes! We came by and we're greeted by the owner who was a pleasant lady. There were 3 of us and the Wifey and me split a Full Rack of Ribs and our son ordered the chicken tender meal. We then sat down in an empty restaurant. The place was clean and the decor was modern and neat. Our dinner was served to us in plastic takeout containers with plastic cutlery. Our Ribs came with 2 sides and we chose the Rice and Sweet Mashed potatoes. There were 3 chicken fingers with French fries. The ribs tasted good, nothing exotic the rice was tasty and the sweet potatoes were OK. Now I hate writing negative things in a family owned and run restaurant but I had a few points to bring up which I hope management takes constructively and rectifies. The meal was VERY PRICEY for what we ordered $ 59.32 with Tax and a $ 2.14 for using a Credit Card! (There was no sign mentioning it!) Also they did not have any filtered water to drink and the prices on their bottled water and drinks were very inflated! $3.75 for a 20 Oz Coke Zero and Bottled water for $2.29! Our bill totaled $70.00 with 2 drinks which was very stiff for what we got and the ambience! We will most likely go elsewhere the next time we have a craving for ribs.

Ancho BBQ Ribs, Fried Green Tomatoes, Mashed Sweet Potatoes, Cornbread Muffin, Smoked Wings & Mac Cheese Smorgasbord plate
    Camille J.

You can say I eat a lot of ribs....and I've come across my fair share of sauces....BUT LAWDY I love these ribs and Ancho BBQ sauce!! The full rack was meaty, not a lot of chewy fatty bits, which was fantastic, a lovely sweet bark from being smoked on the outside. The smoked wings had this nicely balanced dry rub between zesty and sweet, and the spicy ranch that comes with them is addictive! Perfect tang of spicy and coolness from the ranch. Fries were hot and fresh too, don't taste freezer burned or previously cooked. The mashed sweet potatoes were very flavorful, a savory bite with a hint of sweet, nice strong flavors without being overly sugary. No chunks and smooth texture. Next, the max and cheese! The most authentically homemade flavor of Mac and cheese I've had from a bbq place. The texture was also great, not too mushy. Fried green tomatoes cooked perfectly, not soggy and breading was just enough ratio to thickness of tomato! The MFG sauce it comes with is also delicious! Unlike anything I've tasted. And the cornbread was also moist and cake like! Not pictured: the bourbony delicious thick pecan pie and the INCREDIBLY delicate moist red velvet cake. This place was delicious I can't wait to taste their whole menu!

Ribs so good I found myself not wanting to put the bone down.

The lobster bisque had a flavorful, well-seasoned broth, though it was a little light and I would have loved some chunks of lobster to add texture. Ordering is straightforward: select your sauce/seasoning, spice level, and seafood. I went for the Chef's Pick - Crabfam Classic Seafood Boil, which includes 1/2 pound each of snow crab, shrimp, and sausage, served with two sweet corn cobs and two tender potatoes. They had a 2-for-1 drink special, and the waitress was friendly and helpful. She let us know we didn't have to order the same drinks for the deal, which was nice. I ordered a passion fruit margarita, but it didn't taste like passion fruit at all. More tart than sweet. I didn't love the flavor, but I will say the bartender was definitely not stingy with the liquor. My friend ordered a Bahama Mama and had no complaints. I'm not a big seafood person, but I do love wings, and that's where Crafty Crab won me over. I ordered the 10 piece sweet chili wings, all flats, for $10.99, which alone is enough to bring me back. The wings were hot, fresh, and flavorful. My friends also enjoyed their lemon pepper wings and drinks. We originally came because we heard they used to have karaoke on Thursdays, which would have been perfect for the size of the venue. When I asked the waitress about it, she said she didn't know why they stopped. That's unfortunate because this place has so much potential. It's a large venue with good wings and cheap drinks, they're really just missing a vibe. Even playing music through the speakers would make a huge difference. Also like my first visit, this place found a way to shoot itself in the foot. "Gisela" warmly greeted me. She sat me in the same first booth as last year. No sign of my waitress Jennifer from last year. The first thing I noticed different was a nice salad bar. Gisela asked if I ever had been there previously. I replied "yes." She then said I must know how they do things there. As it turned out, I did not. Later, she informed me that they now are under new management from my first time there. They no longer have a traditional menu. Unfortunately, I had read neither their website nor the recent reviews since last year to know of the changes and stupidity. So now it's a Brazilian steakhouse. Since I never had experienced a Brazilian steakhouse style of service, I had difficulty understanding Gisela trying to explain to me how it worked. I requested more time to analyze the menu. I also should add that the ambiance is pleasant but a little dark as is the menu in certain places, making it difficult for me to read. I think I had left my reading glasses in the car. So Gisela waited on a couple seated behind me which had arrived after me. They ordered the Brazilian meat all-you-can-eat and helped themselves to the salad bar. I saw no "salad bar only" option on the menu. Gisela said I could order only salad bar. However, I had a feeling I would be charged the same as the combo with the meat service. I decided just to go along with the program by ordering the same thing as the couple behind me for $24.99. She brought me a glass of water. I have zero complaints about the food. The salad bar included meatballs and noodles and enough variety to order just salad bar if they encouraged it. I wouldn't see Gisela much more until time to pay. Within minutes of returning from the salad bar, a guy emerged from the kitchen with his first of many skewers. I accepted a piece of chicken with bacon as did the couple behind me. So my best analogy is a Chinese dim sum place. They come around every couple minutes to offer you another item. You pay à la carte for dim sum as the waitress checks off any item you accept. However, Toreros is all you can eat for one price, not à la carte. The man speedily emerged every two minutes with another type of meat. It was fast service considering I was one of only three customers. I felt like I was eating fast to race him so I could have room on my plate before his next return! I prefer to take my time and not be rushed. I didn't think to ask for an extra plate. By the time he emerged at the end with a rack of lamb, I felt I should pass as I was getting full. I returned to the salad bar for some tasty asparagus, watermelon, and other stuff. Some reviews allege their food was not fresh. My food tasted fresh. I did wonder whether the meats had been prepared a while ago since the guy began serving me quickly after my first trip to the salad bar. They must cook it ahead of time on the assumption that they will have customers eventually. The guy put the traffic light sort of thing on the table. He tried to explain what each light means regarding service requests. I missed the part about which light meant "check please." So I found Gisela bored at her podium. She asked me cash or card? I had cash on me. I did not know the price would be cheaper paying by cash. I replied, "card." She brought me her portable machine. The usual screen popped up with the tip percentages. I was a little puzzled when she said that was the screen to tip if I wanted. Like, why wouldn't I tip? I assumed she just was being humble and courteous. So I tipped 18%. She hadn't done much but the place had few customers, she seemed nice enough to, so give her some money. The total popped up at $40 plus change. Initially, I declined her offer of the receipt. I returned to my car. I sat in my car in the parking lot. I tried to calculate in my head how the hell my tab came to $40 for a $24.99 buffet, maybe a $4 tip, and $2 tax? Reluctantly, I walked back in and asked for a receipt. Gisela retrieved her machine and printed it out for me. I returned to the parking lot. Only then did I read and learn what many reviews have mentioned. They charged an extra $1.18 for paying by card. They added a whopping $5.03 service charge of 18% for my party of one! All that without really telling me before I thought I was being generous by tipping the girl who brought me a glass of water $5.38.

Everything tasted well seasoned and made with care. My o ly issue was the macaroni was sooo cold, as if they didn't even bother to warm it up and the griot was really dry. Overall, If you are looking for great Haitian cuisine that leaves you full and somewhat satisfied, this spot is definitely worth a visit.

I haven't had a lot of Haitian food before, so I wanted to give Pearl of the Island a shot as I…read moreheard it was good. The ambiance is that of a fast casual restaurant with and order counter and tables lining the outer perimeter of the restaurant. There are TVs playing as well. The service wasn't particularly friendly, the two ladies up front seemed more interested in chatting than helping me with the menu. The lunch special came with a soda but they do not offer diet soda and they will not substitute bottled water. I walked in for pickup, and the two lunches probably took 15-20 minutes to be prepared. My husband got the griot, which was flavorful but dry. I got the stewed chicken which was slightly overcooked and underseasoned. I did enjoy the fried smashed plantains, but the rice and beans tasted weirdly ashy? We barely touched those. The pikliz was only ok. Overall, I would not return as I was disappointed.
