I've always done my own moving but that was not an option this time---I'd accumulated a ton of stuff, or seven tons to be exact, and was facing a cross country move from my top floor apartment on one coast to my top floor loft on another. I went with Moover's based on the reviews at Moving Scam, the Better Business Bureau and despite all the scary stuff mixed in with the good here at Yelp, which did give me real pause, but working with Chris at Moover's over the phone, I gained trust that they knew what they were doing, wanted the business, and would do their best to take care of my move. Overall the experience has been a real success---Moovers were exactly on time and the fellas at either end were excellent people who were great at communicating with me, piloting those rigs, and doing their jobs. Mike at the load out end is a great guy with a marvelously fun dog Knoots who accompanies him on the road. I had done all my box packing, so I can't comment there, but Moover's did perfectly well with securing all the items big and small I could not pack. Moreover, these guys persevered on a blistering hot day even as my slumlord's building elevator broke down halfway through. They wouldn't even take me up on my offer to grab a quick dip in the pool. So I can't say enough about that crew. Mike even loaned me an 20+ CD audiobook for my 3100 mile trek. Much obliged, Mike! At the load in, Art was there right on time early Sunday morning with a big team of dudes ready to rumble on Father's Day. I showed Art a shortcut to the load in, but he was concerned about the trees and the brick on the entryway and chose to use the access road rather than risk damage. Even though that cost them thirty yards, these guys had everything off the truck and in my place in about 2 1/2 hours. We're talking hundreds of boxes, although not a whole lot of furniture... but still, a whole lot of poundage, up three flights via one modest sized elevator. Fabulous effort for a Father's Day morn and that gave me a full bonus day to begin the long, long hours of unpacking. They moved like lightning and it was awesome. All good, friendly guys who were a pleasure to be with. Great work, Art! My nitpicks on Moover's would be they are a small company and you have to direct traffic sometimes, make extra calls and steer things a bit in the early going. At least I did. No big whoop. If I didn't hear back, I'd call. Then they'd deal. That kind of thing. Sometimes they are a little friendlier than other times, or some people there are friendlier than others, but no one was ever rude and as we got deeper into the move, when I was on the road and exhausted and obsessing over details, they were always patient and answered my questions. They probably deal constantly with nerve-rattled moovees and any of us might tire of that now and then. I simply cannot complain about the customer service as others have. As for my stuff, it fared very well, although the great bulk of it was book boxes, but you can get into trouble with those just as much as furniture, and they also moved amps, fans, a television, etc. Pretty much everything was perfectly intact--and the load was even transferred once to another truck along the way. I did have some cheap and older particle board pieces that did not go into the move in the best shape and that came out a little worse for the ride, including one book shelf that somehow shed a piece that fits in at the base, but it's still fully functional. I blame Ikea more than Moovers, although I wish that piece got noticed somewhere along the way, but that's half a pound out of six or seven tons. That's really about it. I very much enjoyed my interactions with these guys and if I were a little younger I'd try to get a job with them so I could be back out on the road---my true home. So I'm surprised by all the folks on here with the one and two star reviews. My experience was far more akin to the four and five stars. I'm offering five because I have nothing to compare against and while the experience was not 100 percent perfect, nothing is, I can't think of a sound reason to dock them a star. I'd certainly commend getting a bid from them---their inventory sheet is great by the way---and check out the other review sites and not just Yelp. We moved from Queens, NY to Sacramento, CA. last March. We booked Moovers, Inc. and I would strongly recommend you take your business somewhere else. Do not believe what you read in Moving Scams either, you will just be disappointed. Here the PROS AND CONS of Moovers, Inc. It will be much easier to read, and lets me get straight to the point. PROS: 1.) Refund provided for late delivery. 2.) Customer Service keeps in touch - only if you find the right rep to speak with. CONS: 1.) MISSING ITEM UPON DELIVERY!!! The truck was broken into while in transit and our three drawer unit was stolen along with the driver's tools, and never recovered. 2.) Packing for small items is done haphazardly - they will all get tossed in a box. 3.) Delivery date kept on changing. We got our stuff TEN days after we moved in, a day late of their promised delivery window to boot. It took Moovers, Inc 18 days to get from NYC to CA. I did ask fo a delivery date that will accommodate our arrival in California since we drove out. They gave a reasonable date at first, but kept on delaying it once they had our stuff. 4.) Quotes will not be explained properly. I was told that I will only pay for what they pack. So to save money, we packed most of our stuff, except for the big items (sofa, TV, bookshelves), and some odds and ends that went into about 5 boxes. The guys who came and picked our stuff even said that we should see a drop in the charges since they hardly packed anything. They still charged us the full amount for packing. They explained that our shipment came in heavier than the quoted weight, and since they could not exceed their quote, they will not charge us for the excess weight, but will keep the packing charges on. I SHOULD HAVE JUST LET THEM PACK EVERYTHING. It is not my problem that their in-home estimate computed the wrong weight for my stuff. I truly hope that anyone reading this will be properly warned about Moovers, Inc. They have teamed-up with National Van Lines so if you need to claim anything, you would have to file with National. Assistance will be provided by Moovers, Inc, but you really have to call their California office to get anywhere. The New Jersey office is so unorganized, and you will not get answers from them. read more

These guys were amazing (and I am not a "paid shil" but a professor who just moved cross country from Redwood City to Austin). Robert, who came to give the estimate, went over everything in the house to get us a very accurate inventory - he ended up off by only 300 pounds too high (10k vs 9700), which meant we ended up paying less than the estimated cost. When Robert left, that was it, no hounding me every day on the phone or by email. I took that as a good sign: plenty of customers so not desperate. Then came the packers, Don and Mike. Don's first words were to assure me I was in good hands and that now the worrying was over. They packed everything really well, nothing broke at all during the move. The next day came the movers, Mike again and Perry, the driver, with three helpers. Like Don, Perry was amazing in his ability to make sure I was calm and relaxed. He suggested we not move an old Ikea bookcase that was falling apart, but I explained how I wanted to keep it even though it was cheap, so he wrapped it up and placed it in a special compartment under the truck. It came through just fine and now holds books again. At the other end, in Austin, Perry and Mike greeted me like old friends. They brought everything in and placed it carefully with two new local helpers. We put all the furniture in one room because we were going to get the floors done; a few days later, when I called Perry in a panic because I could not find the legs for a sofa, he assured me they would turn up and that he had not delivered them to another place. He let me know if I had any issues even months down the road, he would be there for me to handle them. Sure enough, I found the legs rather promptly. In short, these guys were on time, professional, careful, polite, funny, and incredibly responsible. They understood that a big part of the job was keeping me informed and relaxed and they went out of their way to let me know they had everything under control. And they did - all the horror stories of moving were someone else's tale, not mine, ours went through without incident. I will recommend Moovers Inc to everyone. read more

My husband and I recently moved from California to Minnesota. We used Moovers based on a recommendation from a neighbor and I could not have been happier with the move. I was told that Art and his crew would be at the house between 8-9 a.m., they were there at 7:55 a.m., and proceeded to work their tails off and had our three bedroom house loaded into the truck in about 4 hours (we had packed our own boxes). All of the furniture was expertly and carefully padded and wrapped to ensure no damage. They even went the extra mile and took the mounted TV off the wall, which turned into a mini project and took about a half hour. Art told me that the stuff would be delivered either December 2 or 3 and he called me on December 1 to tell me he was making his way across the country and would be there on the 3rd as promised. We agreed that he would start unloading between 7-8 a.m. He was here at 6:55 a.m. He and his co-worker again worked their tails off and had everything unloaded and all the furniture put back together in about 4.5 hours. All of our stuff made it undamaged and from start to finish everyone at Moovers was respectful and extremely friendly. And to top it off, the price was phenomenal, only slightly more than what we would have paid to U-Haul it. Plus, we only paid $100 more than our quoted price and that was because we opted to buy a TV box from them on the day of the move. So, the company truly stands behind their not to exceed quote. I highly recommend using Moovers if you need to make a move and ask for Art as your driver because he is great! read more

Most people would ignore a 5-star rating, but there is simply no reason to give any less. My review speaks much less than the reviews given to Moovers Inc. on movingscam.com, and you'll see the volumes of good feedback that this company has received. Quite simply, they are the only full-service moving company endorsed by MovingScam.com, and that says a lot. For starters, Jayson Berger came to my place and did a complete in-home estimate and sent me a binding estimate promptly. It was a competitive quote, espeically for such a large move. They were true to their word in the end; the weight of our load was 600 pounds over the estimate, but I was only charged for what I was quoted. I moved on April 19 from Sunnyvale, CA to Canonsburg, PA (near Pittsburgh) and Mike and Will were the drivers/movers on both ends. There were two other gentlemen from Mooves Inc. who accompanied them to wrap all my things in blankets and plastic wrap. Only a bookcase was damaged in the move, which, quite frankly, was fantastic - I've moved cross-country before and had much more damage. They inventoried everything I owned so that I knew that everything that was put on the truck made it to me in PA. These guys are patient, helpful, completely and utterly polite, and best of all, knowledgeable in what they do - moving. They have the tools to do an efficient job and they don't give the run-around. I asked a lot of questions and always got a straight answer. I would choose Moovers Inc. again in a heartbeat for my next move. read more

These people are full of bull and offer a cow of a service. Fortunately, I haven't actually used their moving services, due to the fact that they sent me a false quote which didn't include their fee of $100 (or so) for heavy items such as a pool table. I rang up just to check some facts about the quote, and was horrified to learn, when I asked, that they were going to charge me this extra fee in spite of their statement "No Hidden Costs, Ever!" in really large font. They then offered to waive this hidden cost, after checking with management, but by this stage I had no trust in them whatsoever. Later on, after some text messages were exchanged I made the following statement: "May I suggest that you include all of your charges in your quotes before boasting "no hidden fees ever". The reply to this was: "Thank you Craig for your suggestion. We will definitely look into that" So, apparently they will look into making honest quotes in the future ? Not to be trusted ! Following a similar review I made on another website, the owner of Moovers abused me verbally on the phone calling me several expletives . These people are nasty and dishonest. Please save yourself a trip to VCAT and an argument at the end of your delivery, and choose a reputable removalist, even if they appear to charge more for their services. read more

From the first phone call and estimate through pickup and delivery my entire experience with Moovers Inc was great. I received estimates from 5 moving companies and selected Moovers Inc based on price and their commitment to do a great job. There is no doubt in my mind that I chose the right company. My 5 bedroom house contents move from CA to NV went flawlessly. The move occurred only 4 days after getting an estimate and was executed by very professional and wonderfully helpful and friendly movers. The contents were delivered on the agreed upon schedule at the appointed time - and without ANY damage or breakage. Though the driver was the same on pickup and delivery - a wonderfully comforting situation - the crews on both ends were just GREAT. They worked hard, teamed together well and were helpful, friendly and downright funny at times. Moving can be an anxious and tempestuous experience, but Moovers Inc made it a thoroughly effective and enjoyable adventure. read more

Had an awesome move with Moovers. This was our first long distance move so I was a little intimidated by the whole process but Moovers made the experience painless. Greg came by a few weeks prior to give us an estimate. He was extremely professional and pleasant and quoted us a reasonable price. Darren and crew did a stellar job from start to finish with the actual move. Everything - from the boxes to the bigger things like furniture - was packed into the moving van quickly and efficiently. They loaded a 3 bedroom house worth of things within a matter of just a few hours. Since our move was from NorCal to Central Cali the unpacking was done the next day. And same as the day before, Darren and Howard were amazing. They were polite, friendly, and skillful at their job. I could not ask for a better experience. I highly doubt we will be moving any time soon, but if we ever do I'll be sure to use Moovers, Inc. again. read more

This company was absolutely excellent. They made a stressful experience as easy as it gets. I moved from Manhattan to San Jose, CA so that's about as far as it gets. They came in at $300 less that they quoted. Melvin on the New York end came right on time, which was crucial because of alternate side parking. He and one other guy humped 75 boxes down 2 flights of stairs in 14 degree weather without a complaint. I even had extra stuff they had to wrap individually. And they had to take the door off to get the couch out. That alone took almost an hour. Amazing. I tipped big. Art and Tommy were actually early on the California end. Not as physically challenging no stairs and 60 degrees) they finished in an hour flat. They checked in, by number, every box on a sheet. Nothing was broken and everything worked perfectly. USE THEM. We were scheduled to move across country from San Francisco with another mover and our move was cancelled by that mover the day of the move. In a panic, we somehow found Moovers Inc. The same day we contacted Moovers, we had a crew at our house that safely loaded and got all of our items on the truck safely and securly. Oscar, Lavelle, Tyler and Tommy were fantastic. Our items made it to Nashville in 7 days (two weeks earlier than promised by the other mover) and cost less than we originally were going to pay. Tommy (the driver) and his crew got everything unpacked and went above and beyond the call of duty - even sharing brownies his Aunt made with my family. I will only use and recommend Moovers Inc from now on! They are the best. If Tommy is available, use him - he is a real pro and a nice guy too. read more

Used Moovers (which subcontracted National Van Lines) and the experience was great. Not the cheapest quote I got---but you get what you pay for (their rates were still reasonable). But most importantly, their final quote was what I paid. Jackie in the SF office was very helpful and always available to answer my question. Greg and his team of movers were in contact with me beforehand, they were courteous, they arrived on time, they packed my things quickly and professionally, and they moved it cross country within the time frame promised. My things arrived perfect condition, and boy did they work hard getting everything in place at the destination, fast! Moving is never fun, but they made it as easy as they could make it. Happy with move from Morro Bay CA to Shepherdstown WV. I packed the boxes and carried fragile things myself by car. Randy was the driver and he was very good with communications and organization. Since I was coming and going from small towns, the loading/unloading is dependent on Moovers, Inc finding reliable local people. In both locations, the people were good. I did all of my communication with the office via email/telephone and the cost ended up being a little less than the not to exceed quote. Note that they pack the trailers extremely full and some of the boxes on the bottom were crushed. But no significant damage. They did make efforts to wrap furniture in moving blankets. Note that I carried fragile things in my truck on a separate trip. I would use them again. read more

I am currently serving as an Active Duty Military member in which Moover's was the company that they hired. Comparing to the last three companies that packed and moved my stuff, this was by far the best. They were very friendly, respectful and worked hard with minimal breaks. We bought them lunch and were almost forcing them to take a break. The one thing that really stuck out to me was there was money left on a dresser in which had fallen behind. The movers staff picked it up and put it on the dresser and let me know they had found it behind it versus just walking away with it. We moved from San Francisco to Berkeley. Moovers' not-to-exceed estimate came in lower than the 3 other companies we got estimates from, so we went with them. And are exceedingly glad we did! They were fantastic. We packed ourselves, but they moved everything to the truck from the top floor of a 3 story walkup, brought it over the bridge & into the narrow windy streets of the Berkeley Hills, made an extra stop along the way, unloaded the truck, damaged nothing, and still came in under their estimate.
