The food here used to be great. now it's all new cooks & cashiers. The service is horrible they always seem so bored to be there and get bugged when a customer walks in. The food does not taste good, the cheese pupusas is all hard the cheese isn't even the one you're suppose to use for pupusas. the revueltas have very little meat inside it's just a plain tortilla. The sauce is extremely spicy which i've never had a spicy sauce for pupusas. they need to learn to package better all the water for the curtido fell. and all our pupusas got soggy by the time we got home, keep in mind not everyone likes their pupusas soggy. If you want some tasty pupusas go to el carrousel.

This is a traditional Salvadorian restaurant with all the specialty plates . Location is not the best but food and service was worth it ! I recommend!

First, the staff are all so kind and welcoming. You feel like you are having dinner in someone's living room. It is so beautiful and cozy and warm. Perfect for a date night! We came on a Wednesday night and had a reservation and got in right away. We shared everything family-style. Note, the portions are small but the food is delicious and for the price it is right on. Next time, may order two of one dish. We got the cucumber herb salad, the potatoes gravas, the elote corn, the flank steak, and the summer margarita pizza. All were fantastic. Next time, we'll get more than one pizza and may skip the flank steak. For dessert we had the cookie with gelato (gelato is SO GOOD) and the pop tart. You must get the pop tart!!!!! It is sooooo good and so unique. Overall, we can't wait to return and take pictures next time!

The scallop aguachiles were incredibly fresh, bright, and beautifully balanced. The chicken wings were perfectly crispy with amazing flavor, and the branzino was cooked to perfection--tender, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. The chorizo pizza was another standout with the perfect combination of smoky, savory toppings and a fantastic crust. Our server was professional, attentive, and knowledgeable, making the entire dining experience even more enjoyable. We were also excited to see the new wine list, which offers some excellent selections and pairs beautifully with the menu. Hearth has consistently delivered exceptional food, service, and atmosphere over the years. It's wonderful to see them continue to evolve while maintaining the quality that made us fall in love with the restaurant in the first place. We can't wait to come back again! -- Melissa & Dave

I decided to go with here to taste a different part of the world. The dish I selected, is the Banda Paisano Trifeca which is a macro and micronutrient bomb of delicious vegetables, starches, and protein. Apparently many with very hard physically demanding jobs need a "strong meal," and within Columbian Culture this dish was formed. Beautiful story, AND it has blood sausage!!! The place was slammed but got me the first available seat in 10 mins or so, and though we both couldn't communicate beyond the common cordial words and menu semantics, her demeanor and body language was very inviting and courteous. Flavor was spot on as usual. Things I did not enjoy this time: 1. I was charged for 2 chorizos when I had only ordered 1. (Always ask for printed invoice and check before leaving). 2. I was charged $6 for a chorizo that was as long as my thumb. In the past their chorizos were much bigger and cheaper. (Do not order chorizos a la carte). 3. The meat in my "bandeja paisa" was ver fatty. Maybe my negative experience had to do with the fact that the restaurant was about to close.

It's been around for over 20 years and is currently in a newer space than it was before; featuring more parking and a larger space. Ambiance: The interior has a relaxed feel with beachy surfer themed decor. It has a clean modern feel with a bunch of tables featuring accent colored chairs. There is music in the background and a TV on the wall featuring surfing videos. Service: You order at the counter, they ring you up and you get the food brought out. You can see the kitchen as it's open. It was my first time and it was a simple and easy experience. Everything came out in a timely fashion. Food: Some of their specialities include the 20+variations of fried empanadas (meats, chicken, pork, veggie, dessert) that come in both savory and sweet types, as well as their speciality plates such as their Korean-style flat iron steak skewers and chicken satay. The sauces they serve with their empanadas are incredible and some of the best I've ever had such as their chimmi-churri, basil-aioli and sweet & sour Thai. I recently did the lunch combo featuring a choice of a 1/2 salad or 1/2 fries, choice of any two empanadas and a canned drink. I chose beef and Kailua pig empanadas; both were great, empanadas didn't break apart and were crispy, everything was seasoned well; the filling of the beef was a bit more than the Kailua pig however. Drinks: They have various drinks such as lemonade, juices, sodas/soft drinks, and some beers on tap. Parking: The lot is large and has ample parking depending on the day and time. Prices: Prices are to the times that we're in...so not too great. Ala carte empanadas are $5+ but as you order more (4, 12) the prices come down a slight bit.

A friend of mine read about this seafood restaurant as one of the top restaurants in LA and since I love eating (don't know if I am foodie but I love to eat), we had to give it a shot and boy it was definitely worth the shot. This place is in the heart of LA, I'm not a big fan of driving to LA but for an awesome restaurant, I'll make it an exception. First off, they do not serve alcohol. I usually love my oysters and ceviche with an ice-cold beer, but I had a diet coke instead and it definitely did not hit the spot but it was still good. I don't know if you can BYOB. We first started with the Sea Urchin ($28) - The sea urchin was on a bed of bay scallop's. so much flavor with a delicate sweetness. Ceviche Mixto (Shrimp and Octopus) ($23) - huge portion, perfect with their home-made hot sauce and crunchy corn tortillas. Shrimp Aguachile ($28) - raw marinated shrimp with fried shrimp heads. Love the sourness of the shrimp and the crunchy shrimp heads. perfect combination. 6 piece mixed raw oysters ($22) - yum!!!!! nice and meaty and the perfect paring with their home-made hot sauce. Camarones Al Mojo entree ($32) - HUGE prawns with garlic, butter and chile marinade. it was perfect with their rice and beans. My friend and I have already planned to make another visit very soon with several of our friends.

There was plenty of parking in the adjacent lot (I believe this is the DMV lot and was available as DMV was closed; during weekdays I can imagine the parking can be challenging). Plenty of seating as well given it's part of a larger "food court" and lots of communal tables, both inside and outside. We sat outside as the weather was perfect. I can see what the hype is about. For the most part, the food is super fresh, presented in an awesome manner and the cost is very reasonable for the quality of the seafood. I only wish they sold beer/wine as it would be been perfect to enjoy a beer with some of the dishes. We had: Erizo (Sea Urchin) - 5/5 - Probably the best dish of the meal. Ceviche made of fresh urchin and scallops, one of the best fresh urchin dishes I have ever had. Pata de Mula (raw blood clams) - 4/5 - The sauce on the clams was very good, my only "knock" is that the sauce overpowered the clams so it was hard to taste the actual clams. Spot Prawn/Scallop Aguachile - 4.5/5 - I though the scallops and the aquachile sauce were great. The spot prawns were a bit flavorless. I would order this again just with the scallops next time. Coctel Mixto - 3/5 - Maybe my least favorite dish of the meal. The taste was fine, I just thought the coctel "sauce" (more like a cold soup) was overpowering for the fresh seafood. Octopus Taco - 5/5 - The other favorite of the meal, probably the best octopus tacos I've had. Overall a great meal, and I would look forward to going back.
