We went here during the Christmas parade timeframe. We checked in at the front desk at 12 and they said there was an hour and a half wait. We understood the long wait for two reasons one the area is crowded during the parade timeframe and two the restaurants super small. However two hours go by and are literally standing out front waiting to be called .. to no avail. Mind you multiple tables are visibly empty inside and out. So already giving a bad impression prior to ordering any food. We end up asking about our table and they finally seat us. Our waitress was a little frazzled. Our queso was ice cold so you couldn't even eat it not to mention it came out last .. which makes no sense seeing how we ordered it as an appetizer. Our drinks were pretty bad, we had margaritas that were just syrup with a tiny splash of tequila. What was good was my fajitas and my husbands arroz con pollo. My son had the Mac and cheese and fries which is just easy Mac so it was fine nothing to write home about. The chicken was well seasoned along with the rice and beans. So no complaints there. But outside of that the experience here was negative. We likely won't return because even though the food was good we had an 80 dollar tab for at best 45 dollar food and two drinks

I had beef fajitas. (2 small ones - btw). The beef with peppers and onions was decent. But why add brócoli? That's NOT a Mexican vegetable!! Guacamole is advertised as being $2.00 extra for a scoop. It was literally a teaspoon full. The refried beans was some kind of a pure n the rest of the sides was all a joke. I DO NOT recommend this place. Just because we could b a tourist in town does not mean you should take advantage of us!! Here is the $2.00 "scoop" of guacamole!! Por favor!!

First time visiting and pleasantly surprised by the food and service, given some of the prior reviews. Our meal was hot and everything tasted fresh. We ordered chori pollo and arroz con pollo. There were a ton of fresh veggies in the arroz con pollo, and the chips and salsa was warm and fresh.

Stopped in here briefly for a libation and to see how the atmosphere is. Enjoyed it. Modelo on tap and the best chorizo I've had in awhile. Will definitely be back

First time here - food had good flavors - salsa was OK but not a lot of flavor - chips came out warm which was nice - I ordered the Burrito Deluxe - 2 chicken burrritos with rice and beans - again flavors were good but the burritos were very small - about 1/2 the size you would get at Taco Bell - ended up leaving still hungry - wife got the pork tacos - very good and appropriate amount of food for the price - I was jealous - overall OK - the couple sitting at a table next to us got the nachos and the plate was piled high - will go back but skip the burritos - not a good value

Small portions, high prices, and whole family got food poisoning. I would not recommend dining there.

First of all, the setting: a charming little house turned restaurant, but inside it's giving modern minimalist chic -- clean lines, warm wood, soft lighting, and the kind of cozy vibe that makes you immediately relax and say, "Yes, I will have a cocktail." Speaking of cocktails... my friend and I started with two delicious drinks (Gin and tonic and French 75) that disappeared suspiciously fast. (Research purposes, obviously.) Then came the tapas parade: * Creamy burrata that was basically a love letter to cheese. * Spicy lamb ragu that had just enough kick to keep things interesting. The portion was nice too! * Perfectly cooked steak that was succulent! * And a sea bass in red curry that brought a little bold flavor moment to the table. Four plates, two drinks, zero regrets. Small space, big flavor, and the kind of spot that feels like you've discovered a secret. Middleburg, you're hiding gems!!! 10/10 would celebrate another birthday here -- even if it's not mine.

The smoked beets were amazing! The smoke flavor came through and the ingredients perfectly complemented each other. So good. The hangar steak was perfectly cooked with a beautiful pink center. I will say maybe they had so many staff members because they were doing training as different people came by our small table each time to ask questions and deliver the two items. But because with the influx of people, it seemed like there were like 10 people all just hanging around the bar waiting for customers and just very talkative. The bathroom here is very clean and nice to use the facilities. I am not a beer drinker, and the Baltimore beer I was splitting with my husband, was different... rimming it with old bay (yuk!). My husband said it was refreshing with a unique taste but wasn't for him or for me. We were not offered to switch it out so he suffered through. The mac and cheese was the same way, different, and not for everybody. Our little didn't like it and she is a mac and cheese connoisseur. We ended up leaving over half the dish there (again no one checked on us to see if we were satisfied with it). We flagged down someone to pay the check, so we could get back on the road. I think the prices were outrageous for what you get. I understand if the quality was greater or the experience was greater but the portions and what you got were, in my opinion, don't aligned. I just feel like the experience could've been better for a Middleburg restaurant or beer hall.

My interpretation of the gist of what everyone was complaining about was that they used to come here all the time (as did I years ago, but it's been a year since being here) and they didn't like the new, slimmed down menu... and they definitely hated the prices here now. Our service was ok, nothing special. I feel like the majority of the servers are very young and might not have the training, nor experience to understand what true service is, not just taking orders and bringing food. The menu was nice. We liked their "Everyday is Sunday" section of the menu, so we tried 2 orders (4 persons) of the pork chop tomahawk and 1 order (2 persons) of the Côte de Boeuf. We started with their Scotch Egg - WOW! Really flavorful with a great texture, inside and out. Definitely a very nice way to start. Cocktails and wine were a hit here for sure! Especially Jarad's G&T, which we got a couple of. Main dishes were great! Plenty of food too!! The spices on the crust of the porkchop tomahawk were so tasty and the temperature was spot-on! The steak in the Côte de Boeuf was incredible! Perfectly seasoned and at that absolute perfect temperature too! The carrots that came with this were very nicely done, but the potatoes stole the show! This dish came with OUTSTANDING Fondant potatoes... They had a great, smokey flavor to them, as if they were basted in pork fat. The meat was perfectly textured and flavored. Overall - While this is no longer the Hunter's Head that many came to know, love, and enjoy, I feel they're doing a decent job here. I'll definitely return, as I want to try their fish & chips!
