Mori was amazing!!! I truly loved my orders - I am just being conservative here because I didn't get to try their sushi this time. I had okonomiyaki - one of my favorite Japanese dishes which I also don't find it to be as common as I would like it to be in the states. It's like a Japanese grilled pancake. It came with shrimp, scallion, and cabbage. I won't necessary say this is the best one that I've ever had - but it definitely exceeded my expectations. I also ordered the scallop tobanyaki. Okay, for those of you that know me to some extent.... I am totally addicted to scallop. Like fresh and bouncy scallops. Mori's was honestly pretty good. The scallop was fresh and prepared just about right. It was also really juicy! This dish was basically just grilled scallop served on a hot stone plate. Please note that you can only get this if you dine in. Truly enjoyed this! After these two dishes, I was way too stuffed... can't fit into anything else.... But overall, I would happily recommend Mori... hope to pay a visit some time soon too! read more

We love this place! Before covid, we would come here once a week for our date night. The staff are super friendly and remember our order every time. The sushi chefs always greet you when you walk in and bid farewell when you leave. This is the only establishment we've dined in since covid and trust their sanitation process. Lots of vegetarian and vegan options....they will give you suggestions if you ask! I highly recommend the kinoko tofu appetizer. We always get two orders because it's THAT good! read more

Not a bad place. It was a bit of a bummer that there was no hibachi but there was a pretty trendy sushi bar. Some of the party loved their sushi but I was not pleased with the atomic bomb sushi. It's a pretty cool place and was very busy. Definitely a popular place to go, right up the street from Suwanee town center and made an interesting end to a girls day after a sip n stroke painting class up the street. Unfortunately the service was not that great. While they were moderately at tentative, they failed to bring out a dish and instead of bringing it as a plate as promised, they brought it out as a to go order. AFTER the check was paid. Instead of being given the opportunity to ask for the order as a plate or to send it back, the waitress quickly ran away and then claimed that the check was never signed. After chasing us to the car, she argued that 1 out of the 6 bills was never signed and refused to accept that she dropped the receipt. Mori house is a hit or miss. The staff is good and very helpful with the rolls and sushi. However, this place is way too small for the crowd they get. They are currently remodeling the place, so it is closed. It will be interesting to how they enhance the size to accommodate more people. Back to the food. Sit at the sushi bar and get to know your chef. He will give you some recommendations and you tend to get your food a little faster. The quality is good and they do have basic rolls there for those who do not venture out much. There is a new sushi restaurant that opened next door "Sushi Nami", which is not on yelp yet, but they are a great place for high quality sushi and I cannot is sit to write a review about them. OMG!!!! My wife and I have eaten in a lot of sushi places from L.A. to D.C. and this is easily the BEST sushi and service we have had. We love to eat out and this has a great atmosphere, clean, friendly staff, organized, fast, everything you could want. If I were to give one downside it's that I can't afford to come here every week! Loved this place !!! I recently relocated back to GA and I'm temporarily staying with my sister in Buford. My sister recommended Mori House, so my mom and I gave it a try. We felt bad going so late because they close at 10:30pm and we arrived a little before 10pm. But the staff were very nice and welcoming, and gave great suggestions on sushi. They didn't rush us out at all! We had the Catepillar roll, Gaga roll, and one other that I can't remember the name ... maybe Mexican roll?! Regardless, it was delicious!! My husband and I met with friends for dinner recently and we had a delicious meal. This restaurant is an authentic hidden gem and we had a great time. I was stuffed from a too-big lunch and could hardly eat, but I am eagerly awaiting a return visit. I had the crispy rice sushi which came with either spicy tuna or spicy salmon, I can't remember. It was served with a slice of fresh Serrano on top which was good, I just would prefer fresh jalapeño just because it's bigger and juicier than Serrano. Anyway, it was very good. My husband had the zaru soba and the okonomiyaki which he shared with my friend's husband. My friend had two different rolls, unfortunately I can't remember which ones. She said they were pretty good. And finally, my friend's husband had a sautéed beef dish that I also don't know the name of. My husband and I also had the hot green tea to drink- mine unsweetened, while my husband added sugar. All of us thoroughly enjoyed our food and the service was very attentive. My family and I go to sushi restaurants every week, and we know what a fresh plate of sashimi should taste like. We ordered a plate of sushi, and it was not fresh. It was spoiled. We complained to the manager, but the crew did nothing, telling us that yellow tail had a very unique taste and etc. Mori House still charged us for the sushi that we never ate. We paid and left and will not be returning to this restaurant. If I could give them zero stars, I would. Unfortunately, the minimum that Yelp will offer is one star. This is the second time I have been here. I've had similar experiences both times. Food/sushi is good. Service was slow and disappointing both times. Having to wait over 30 minutes for my appetizer (hirata bun) which came out a few minutes after one of the entrees was ridiculous because of the simplicity of the dish and the restaurant wasn't even that busy. The bun itself was hard in the middle as if they microwaved it then left it there to cool. The rest of the sushi and sashimi I ordered was good. ****The waiters here will ignore you while you wait a week and a day for your food but will constantly bother you after you get your food and ask you if everything is okay. This place is legit. Too legit~ get it? We when for V-Day dinner and the service was spot on, staff was friendly, and the wait wasn't that bad. Food come out on a timely matter. We had the Tiger Roll, BBQ Eel, and Cali Roll for sushi. Had to try their Shrimp Tempura to start. Tonkotsu Ramen and Tendon Donburi. The rolls were great. Shrimp Tempura we killed. So crunchy and loved the dipping sauce. I recommend eating it when its still hot and fresh. Tonkotsu Ramen was the bomb. The thick slices, yes 2 pieces of the pork was off the chain. So flavorful and the soup, yum. The only thing that was eh. was the Tendon Donburi. It was just a bit bland to us. overall though, this is a place we plan to come back for some sushi and ramen. Since it was V Day, they served us free dessert. It was a nice touch. The place is a bit smaller than most sushi places but its nice and cozy. That happened to me today and I politely put the offending piece into my napkin and told the waitress I couldn't eat any more. Instead of a check (which I would have happily paid) I was greeted by the owner, Lele, who told me to get out of her restaurant if I didn't like the food. 5+ years going to Mori House and hundreds of meals totally ruined by the owner today. We came here since Kinyobee has closed. Sushi was good, but not great. This chef definitely likes their rice cooked a little more than we prefer. The sushi was lacking in texture. Overuse of avocado in most rolls. Cost wise, they are about 20% more expensive. The atmosphere is a little claustrophobic, tables are tight and low ceilings don't help the feeling. Service is just OK, I imagine they are still adjusting to the increased patronage coming from Kinyobee's crowd. We will continue searching for a replacement to our beloved Kinyobee. read more

With age has come disappointment when it comes to Mori House. I first came here nearly 2 years ago and found it delightful the first visit. Since then, it has slipped further and further. The last meal I had there about a month ago was so mediocre that it was the final straw for me. I won't throw good money after bad. I won't bother listing items either because there were no high points and nothing stood out. The service was not horrible, but somewhat lackluster. We had to ask multiple times for glasses of water and finally asked a different waitress. There was little concern with how our meal was and items came in a quasi-random fashion: 1 roll, then another roll, then the last two rolls. They were busy so I can forgive a lot of that were it not for a pattern of consistency that has been building during the recent and last visits. The rolls were the deal-breaker. The rice was incredibly wet and mushy. The presentation was pathetic (sushi is an art after all and a little care in plating is expected). It's the only time I've gotten sushi and there was no ginger. Especially with 4 rolls, ginger is a pleasant and somewhat necessary palate cleanser. But the worst were the cuts of fish themselves. I've seen pulled pork that was cut more neatly. The eel looked like chopped muck and there were more bones than rolls on the plate. Total garbage. The other fish was - at least -recognizable, but still very mangled and not handled with any care. The quality had been slowly slipping, but this last visit, I've had enough. They're priced fairly, but it's hardly cheap sushi. There are too many other places that have tasty, solid rolls to bother with this one. I hate adding this, but I suspect they thrive because of location since they're in a place that doesn't have too many alternatives for decent sushi. Came here after a miserable night because I had an interview with a potential employer that had gone awfully sour. I felt like treating myself out and this is actually where I wound up going. This place literally turned my night around. I ordered the Suwanee Roll, Spicy Tuna, and Philly roll. Everything was delicious! The only thing that concerned me was the fact that there was no ginger. I didn't feel like asking considering the fact that it took awhile to get some simple napkins when I asked for them. I always thought ginger was provided because the wasabi was there, but ginger was no where in sight. I love dipping pickled ginger into spicy mayo and eating it like that. It's a great combo. One thing I really like about Mori is the steamed damp towels that they provide in the beginning. I love the smell of those things. Stopped in for dinner the other night after seeing the great Yelp reviews and was not disappointed! The menu is expansive, we started with crab shumai then the Suwannee roll, one other one that I can't remember the name of and the Kobe beef. Everything was delicious and high quality. The beef you cook yourself on a hot stone with beef fat as the base coat. They have four different flavors of mochi for dessert, I highly recommend the red bean and green tea flavors. We enjoyed the quick service even on a busy evening and our waitress was knowledgeable about the menu. The prices are higher than normal for the sashimi but I would imagine it is because it is high quality. We would definitely come back for dinner again! read more
