The bar is hopping and packed full which is great. We went to the back and the dining room is empty. For a minute I'm thinking private event but a very nice waitress came over and sat us down. I ordered the fish and chips and was expecting a large piece of fish across the plate but I was disappointed at the two small pieces I received. The "mushy peas" were great....i never had them before but I think that was the best part. Hubby ordered the Philly cheesesteak and it looked awesome. They actually used steak (I always think it's going to be "steak-um" from my past but thank goodness I was wrong!). I think his meal beat mine hands down. We had a gift card but apparently it was too old and they couldn't use it. I was very disappointed! All in all I would not comeback only because there's other great places to go. This was a ho hum dinner. As far as the staff...they are super nice and friendly. The restaurant is very dated and could use an update. read more

I got some (a lot) of food to go this past Sunday. We ate the mozzarella sticks, potato skins, vegetable spring rolls and shrimp curry (half fries, half rice) before I thought about taking a photo. I had the crabmeat stuffed salmon with potatoes and mixed veg. Everything was delicious. Prices are always right. Pete's the best guy on the block, working behind the bar. Great place to watch sports as they have many screens to watch. There is also traditional Irish music every Sunday evening. Cannot wait to go back! read more

Wifey & I live a few blocks off of McLean Ave and walks to breakfast a couple of times per month. We've hit about a dozen spots for trying Moriarty's on Sunday. This weekend, we found our new go-to breakfast spot! The freshest breakfast that I've had in memory. The service could not have been better as well. I rarely eat out because I am not a picky eater and going out seems like an inconvenience to me, but breakfast at Moriarty's is something that I will look forward to this winter. read more

Terrible experience! 30 minute wait for food! Stopped in on my meal break of an hour, told me that it would only take 10 minutes! I ordered Nacho's and Mac & cheese bite appetizers... My meal begins and ends at my job and there's travel time to consider... I finally get my food 35 minutes after I ordered it... It was the wrong order when I left, it was pasta with white cheese sauce and some chicken thingy... They gave me $30 gift card for the wait but I'll never eat there again... the wrong food also spilled in the bag and on my car seat... I try not to judge too harshly because the staff was professional, courteous, and friendly but come on!!! How does that happen?? We had dinner here last night the food was absolutely awful and the service was worse.The place was very quiet 3 tables but yet 30 mins for apps and we had to ask multiple times for drinks, because the two waitresses were busy chatting,then one of them sat down to eat @6pm on a sunday.Serious lack of management in this establishment. read more

this is a great locals bar. the people who bad mouthed this place are either not from the area or simply bereft of Irish pub culture quite frankly. This extremely cozy bar is fantastic.I drove past it so many times and then finally went in. Tho it was my first time the bartender made me feel so welcome. Great vibe with all the locals being very friendly as well. Used to love coming here, not so much anymore. Was last here a few weeks ago and was treated like poop for the last friggin time. That b#%@h Karen or Carol or whatever needs to climb off her high horse, shut her mouth and get her customers a drink. How many times do you have to ask? Seriously, you have to ask for them to do their job? Maybe I'm still pissed because we opted to give her a nice tip for being such a turd because we're not . Pete used to be good. Liked him at the Coachmans. Half the time it was the 2 of them bitching and gossiping with each other. Despite being right in front of the two, not one noticed 2 people with cash out on the bar and empty glasses. We did have to ask multiple times for the same drink. More than once. We were there for an hour before leaving to go drink at Neds. Love the owner, great guy, great kids, wish he was always there.
