Table for 4 on a Sunday afternoon with no reservation and luckily the wait was only about 20 mins. We were seated outside in their front patio, overall space is pretty big as I noticed later on that they even have seating in the back and inside too. After having been seated, it took quite some time to get our food. Staff nonetheless were nice but a little slow to bring over requests (ie napkins). I ordered a Bloody Mary - 2/5. Tall cup but I felt like there was very little inside. Overall taste was nothing out of this world, very bland as was the garnish. For food I ordered the Philly Omlette - 2/5. The meat was so dry and lacked any seasoning! Disappointing - salsa was the only thing that saved it and ketchup for my potatoes. Of which, the potatoes were OK. Portion is huge, I definitely could have shared with 1 other person. Overall my experience was OK. Not to be my first choice for a future brunch spot in the area.
Well, what did I say about this place. I was in the area and was hungry. My daughter and I were looking for places to eat breakfast. We stumbled upon this little gem. Is small. It's cute and it has a vibe that matches downtown Livermore. If you're hungry and have time definitely check this place out you won't be disappointed. I am pretty sure this place gets super busy on the weekends and parking is a little tough.
First time at Mornings for breakfast. It was a bit cool on a Friday morning so we decided to sit inside. One table was available and they took our order for drinks right away. The Mrs. ordered hot chocolate and I orange juice and coffee. The orange juice was disappointing as I expected freshly squeezed but clearly it was not. The hot chocolate and coffee serving was large and hot. My wife ordered an avocado toast and scrambled egg. To her surprise it also came with a side salad with fresh strawberries and vinegar dressing. She really enjoyed everything. I ordered Joes Scramble with country potatoes. The serving was plentiful and tasty. I was surprised as the potatoes were not homemade but tasty. The dining room was nicely decorated but noise level was pretty loud. The service is spot on with check ins and coffee refill. The food is plentiful, hot and tasty. Next time we hope to sit outside to enjoy the downtown hustle and bustle.
First time visiting Mornings On First for a belated Mother's Day breakfast. We were promptly seated and offered either indoor or outdoor dining. We opted for outdoors since it was a nice day. I got the All American Breakfast with egg whites and bacon and cold brew to drink. My son got the French toast breakfast. Order came out in about 20 minutes. Everything was delicious but the bacon was a standout as it was extra crispy and amazing!!! Generous portions so I was stuffed when finished. I saw a lot more on the menu that I want to try so I'll be back!
Went on a sunday with about 30-35mins wait and once the table is ready will received a text. It has been 45mins and haven't not received text yet, so went in the front desk and asked how long more to wait and was told we're still 2nd in line, but the girl said they sit us now, and we got seated on the back area. We saw tables that are open, hmmm ok why it took so long. Anyway, so we ordered our food but we still waited for about 20mins for our food to arrive. We ordered Ohana Pancake, Grand Prix from the kid's menu, and Waffle Royale. The Ohana Pancake was good but not great, and the Waffle Royale my husband said it was a bit hard and only ok. The staffs are friendly.
We came on a Saturday morning and we got sat immediately. They have a front patio and back patio along with inside seating. They had a variety of drinks and food to choose from. We got the cookies and cream cold brew and the tiramisu latte and both were good! For food we got the chicken fried steak and the french dip with provolone cheese and both were very good.
Kid and dog friendly brunch spot. Came by at 11am on a Saturday with my mom and infant and grabbed a shaded table on their front patio. Their front patio overlooks main Street and is a great spot to people watch on the weekend. Our server was friendly, efficient and gave recommendations when asked. I ordered the sunrise sandwich with country potatoes and a latte and everything was yummy and thoughtfully prepared. Servings are quite generous too! I will definitely return and especially recommend for anyone dining out with your fur ptr human baby!
I came here to Mornings on First on a Friday morning and we opted for outdoor seating since we brought our dogs. Such a cute and comfortable dining space on a beautiful February morning. Service was swift and friendly from beginning to end. The menu was not overly large, but you are bound to find a couple of items that intrigue you. My friend and I decided to share as we normally do two dishes - the Mushroom Market toast and the Dad's French toast. Prices are average for the area, but definitely breakfast prices are climbing anywhere you go in the Tri-Valley. Our food came out not long after we placed our order. Our server continued to be very helpful with all of our requests including getting side dishes and additional condiments. Flavors were good, however, the bread for the mushroom toast seemed a bit stale. Other than that, the ambiance truly won me over. This is definitely worth a try!
Mornings on First wouldn't be my first brunch spot in Downtown Livermore, but they ended up having no wait on a Sunday mid morning so we decided to try it! We ordered the Stew's Special (French toast, 2 eggs, and choice of meat) along with biscuits and gravy. The order took longer than expected to come out. Our favorite part of the order was the pork sausages, but I wouldn't come for the French toast as there are other spots nearby that do it better. Overall the service and experience were good but I still stand by my statement that this wouldn't be my first choice for brunch in the area. Their outdoor seating out front looked cute though if you are looking for a patio brunch experience!
My sister and I have shared their Ohana Pancakes a few times now, and we still salivate when we talk or text about them. Pineapple, coconut, and macadamia cream sauce over perfectly cooked pancakes makes this a 11/10. Definitely our favorite and what brings us back. We've also tried their Breakfast Tacos (8.5/10) country fried steak breakfast (10/10) and club sandwich (10/10). It looks small when you first walk in, but there's plenty of seating in their back patio. Service is always friendly and their coffee is great too.
Came on a Saturday brunch time. Very busy but was able to get a table outdoors in front. I did get a look inside after I ordered to use the bathroom and saw a back door that had more outdoor seating. Inside seemed compact while the outdoor seating was more airy on a sunny day. Food was good but I very much enjoyed the coffee flight. My wait wasn't long. I ate half and took the rest home. I finished the coffee flight though. The server was ok. I didn't like that the payment was given the choice of 18, 20, 25% it just makes me feel like I'm forced to choose a high % when the service didn't feel like that was the % they deserved. It's not like the old dine in experience where they leave the receipt for signature and the tip amount and I could have chilled for awhile but since I already paid it's almost like I felt rushed out. Would like to return again with a guest and get the coffee flight again or try other drinks Parking was hard to find but I was lucky to find a disabled parking spot a walking distance away.
This was my second time here, and I don't think I'll be returning. I only came back because a friend wanted to try it out. The restaurant wasn't busy, but it took a long time just to get water. I noticed several staff chatting and standing around behind the bar, yet no one brought cups until I eventually had to ask. Not a great impression. We were a group of 4. When our food finally came, my friend's order was wrong. The runner went to get our server, and when my friend explained the mistake, the server got defensive and insisted, "No, I even confirmed it with you." That wasn't true. She had confirmed the orders of the other 2 in our group, but not my friend's. I spoke up to back my friend since I clearly heard her order and told the server I heard what my friend said and she didn't order that dish she got. More than anything, it was the server's tone that surprised me instead of just correcting the mistake. Since the food had already taken so long, my friend considered just accepting the wrong dish. But the server said she'd have it remade, which only made my friend uneasy. She worried about how the replacement would be handled. When the new plate came out, she even smelled the new plate before eating, which says a lot about the trust that was lost, and it was also the server's attitude that didn't help. To make things worse, when the bill came, we were still charged for the wrong dish. Thankfully, I caught it before paying. Another friend at the table who ordered the omelet said it wasn't good and described it as tasting like a "wet rag." Overall, between the inattentive staff, defensive service, order mistakes, and disappointing food, I wouldn't come back.
Kudos to my ex-wife for recommending this establishment. We spent the morning at the Apple Store upgrading our phones and were starving for some breakfast after two plus hours at Apple Store. Shout out to Pepe for his great customer service too. We were seated immediately which was great for a busy weekend. There is plenty of seating both inside and outside patio area. My ex and I had chicken and waffles and my daughter and her boyfriend had the hot honey chicken sandwich and sunrise sandwich. Everyone was pretty happy with their meals. Great atmosphere for any occasion.
Came here on a busy Sunday morning. The wait was only 20 minutes which was an immediate plus. The inside is full of vibrant plants, bright walls and celebrity art. Mornings on First is such a charming little breakfast spot. The atmosphere is cozy and welcoming, perfect for a relaxed morning or casual brunch. The food is fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Everything we ordered was delicious and beautifully presented. The coffee was great. I ordered a coffee flight that was perfect because I wanted to try all the flavors, and didn't know which one to pick , so I love they have the option to try alittle bit of each flavor! So cute! The service was friendly and attentive without feeling rushed. It's the kind of place that makes you want to slow down and really enjoy your morning. Arrived for brunch as a party of 4 and we were sat right away. Service was fast and to the point! Drinks were phenomenal, I'll definitely get the s'mores latte again. The reason why this place loses one star is because of the portion size. In my opinion, plates are on the smaller side. For the price you pay, I would expect just a little bit more.. overall, the food was pretty good though. This spot is located in downtown, so parking can be limited if there are events happening or if it is a busy weekend. There is only street parking so plan ahead. read more
Unplanned stop here for some breakfast but so happy we did! They only serve breakfast and lunch and close at 3 which is unfortunate because their food is so good, I can only imagine how their dinner would be . They have a cute little seating area in the front and have fans blowing so it stays cooler making it so nice to sit outside. The inside is cute too! Our server was very friendly and helpful with the menu. We went with the food he suggested and we were not disappointed! My omelette was STUFFED with fresh ingredients and the potatoes were crispy and flavorful. My friend mentioned many times her bacon and eggs were cooked perfectly! We also ordered pancake to share. The pancakes themselves were so good! However they were listed as blueberry with lemon so we thought the blueberries were going to be in the pancake batter but it turns out it's just a jam topping which makes the pancakes soggy and the lemon flavor did not compliment anything. Next time we'll try just plain pancakes and see if that's better. Overall great place with great food! read more

I've been to Mornings on First a few times now and have enjoyed it each time. The restaurant is decorated beautifully with a "Tiffany's" vibe. The service is generally good - since it's a new restaurant the staff are working extra hard to deliver well and may get busy at times, resulting in slower service or longer wait for food to come out. Coffee: If you want to try a few of their different iced coffees at once, I'd recommend getting the coffee flight - you get to try the s'mores, tiramisu, and cookies & cream lattes. I really enjoy the s'mores and c&c ones! Breakfast/brunch: I've ordered the Ohana pancakes a couple times and really like them. The pancakes are pretty big and I've taken them to-go before and they've kept and re-heated well. The Belgian breakfast is good too and very filling. Their waffles are crispy! Lunch: I've gotten the turkey tango sandwich which was a good amount of fillings with a good layer of pesto. My husband just tried the OG burger and didn't love it - the burger was cooked well but overall flavorless. The accompanying potato salad was really good, and I'd recommend over the fries. Overall I recommend giving Mornings on First a shot. You may have to wait a bit for a table or for your meal to come out, but it's worth trying out for yourself :) read more

Mornings on First is such a cute, friendly restaurant. I absolutely loved the whole color scheme and atmosphere. All the workers were absolutely friendly from the minute you step into the door. I sat at the bar where my server Julie super friendly and sweet recommended the Eggs Benedict & Iced Coffee Flight. I also got some biscuits and gravy. I had a lovely lunch with a friend at Mornings on First. The patio is shaded (!) and super cute. I'm glad this space is no longer sitting empty. I ordered the turkey, pesto, and sundried tomato sandwich. I enjoyed the buttered and toasted sourdough bread. Overall, the sandwich was a bit dry and could have used more pesto. The fries were delicious, though! Looking at people's plates, the pancakes and waffles looked tasty - I'll have to try them for brunch next time. I wanted to order a coffee because they had some intriguing drinks, like a s'mores latte. However, I learned that oat milk costs $2 extra! That's bananas! (I also couldn't find this information listed on the menu - I had to ask my server). I understand paying extra for non-dairy milk, but this seems higher than the surcharge at other establishments. read more

1st time at Mornings on First. My breakfast choice is always French toast and they have several choices. Unfortunately when I ordered, I was told they're out of all French toast. So I ordered pancakes. I don't usually like to go out for breakfast when at home because I can cook better for much less - $15 for pancakes and nothing else? We'll see. Food was good. My husband and I had breakfast last Saturday morning during their soft opening week. It far exceeded our expectations! We timed it just right and got a patio seat when we arrived. The hosts were friendly and attentive. The patio tables have cool little anti-fly whirligigs and plenty of shade. Service was prompt and friendly, and the menu options were great. I was especially delighted their house tea is Rishi. The London Fog was delicious. For me, the real litmus in breakfast places is Eggs Benedict. These did not disappoint. The poached eggs were perfect! If you're a specialty breakfast restaurant offering Eggs Benedict, you must be able to poach an egg properly - and Mornings on First nailed it! Other local breakfast spots have fallen short in this area and charged way more. These poached eggs were gloriously jammy and played well with the tasty Hollandaise sauce. I haven't even gotten to the potatoes yet! They were delectable-- light, crispy outside, creamy inside, and perfectly seasoned. These are the best I've had out! My husband enjoyed his breakfast burrito. He mentioned that it's the best he's had, with perfectly balanced fillings. It's a win because no one likes a bite with just potatoes. This is just not it. ...I definitely expected more. Came here on a Friday at 1pm ish. We were the only people there. There were 7 staff behind the bar chatting and talking. One staff was friendly and helped right away and was able to put in an order for our son. But when it came time to order more food, we had to wait until someone noticed us looking their way. No big deal. When they came over, we noticed they had a vegan waffle (not listed as an option on the kids menu) so we asked if we can change to a vegan waffle. The guy said yeah I can. I said sweet if you can that would be great, he replied "I already said I would"....a very off putting response. I also asked to change my order and he made another snarky comment. He then barked orders at someone telling them to finish taking our order. 1. Don't talk to your customers that way. A simple no problem would do. 2. Don't act like big shit, bc you aren't. Esp when you are rude to people who work for or with you. Not a good look. Getting to the rest of what we ordered-the coffee flight-not even good, they were extremely watery. Seemed like something had alcohol but we weren't sure. Biscuits and gravy aren't made in house it seems, seems something that's frozen that's warmed up...I can def do that at home. The hot honey sandwich is neither hot nor does it taste like honey-it's very oily and gross. We ended up not even being able to eat it. Oh and for three people we got one water given to us. A joke. Honestly, let down, by the service and the food. Ohh and like other reviews, we were visited by flies as well. How?! In the winter? Are flies buzzing around me? Anyways, save your money. Such a cute place! I can't remember our servers name but he was amazing! My roast beef dip was a little dry to be honest. I was expecting it to be more like a french dip but it was okay. Mimosa carafe was good! I like the back patio seating area just wish they had more fans going especially in the summer! read more

Wow so good. Highly recommend and can't wait to go back already. The Oreo cold brew I think about all the time. The food was amazing and so tasteful. This is a great addition to breakfast options for Livermore. Very clean and very fast service. read more

It's definitely a good breakfast place for Livermore. Staff was very attentive. Restaurant was clean. Portions were huge. Corned Beef Scramble was a 2.5 stars because the meat was very chewy. Shrimp and Crab omelette was excellent. Took half of our breakfast home. Will return to try something different. read more

Nice charming place on the inside and friendly staff but the food leaves something of a not memorable experience. First off the coffee is super bitter even with a full mini pitcher of cream. Some might think it to be strong but I for one just think maybe the coffee machine might have been cleaned recently but not all the chemicals flushed out before brewing. Then if you order sausage patties be warned to ask what the up charge is before seeing the bill. The young lady said it was an up charge. ($4) which is more than getting the ham and ham I am certain would have had more flavor. The biscuit and gravy was full of an off putting herb, fennel I believe. Best part of my meal was the poached eggs, perfect consistency not over cooked at all. Orange juice was a little steep for the size of glass you got for $9 might have been just over a cup in volume. Would go again for the atmosphere but not for the food. Sad really, you need to have both good food and good service to make it in the industry. read more

Listen. Go. I stumbled upon this place looking for something different in Livermore for breakfast. This is the cutest place, with the friendliest servers, and staff. The food was amazing- I had the strawberry banana waffles and iced coffee flight. Absolutely delish! My cousin has the pineapple and coconut pancakes and she demolished them. The outside patio is so cute, great set up, dog friendly, and super cute decor. Awesome brunch ambiance. read more

Horrible experience with very rude staff. However big, busy or popular you are, nothing is worse than having rude service staff & owner. On a Saturday morning, we came for brunch. 10 minutes since we were seated, no one came to take our order. We had to haul a waiter to force them to take our order. 45 minutes go by, no food. When we asked, someone said now they are making it and confirming if this is what we really wanted. She is rude & short and sends the owner. The owner instead of apologizing says oh we only had the order for 25 minutes. The receipt says order was at 10.32 we didnt get the food till 11.25. Never knew 25 minutes were this long ! I understand brunch places get busy but how you treat your customers says it all. The food is mediocre. Go someplace else to have a peaceful experience rather than this negativity. read more
