We ordered the shrimp flatbread and beef flatbread. Both had their own distinct flavors that were delicious. Beef had a hint of sweetness, and shrimp was very savory. The individual working there apologized for the delay in receiving our food, apparently they had to make a correction to our order. He was very kind and generous about the it and made a considerate gesture to make it better. Honestly, we didn't realize the delay, but we're really impressed by the kindness. Good food, Completely miserable staff!! I try to do my best to support local eateries once or twice a week for lunch, as I know its a trying environment right now. Today was a very quiet day for the Oxbow, I walked up to the counter and the employees were all in the back with their arms folded and very slow to come out to take my order. To be honest I almost didn't stop because it felt very negative just walking up to the counter. Nobody before me or after me ordered, I sat down with buzzer within eyeshot, it never went off, everyone just standing around with arms folded, nobody waving me over to get my wrap. I asked if it was mine and she didn't really know at first hesitated and then just said yea. Like I said the wrap was great, but the customer service is abysmal, the kicker is I gave a 20% tip! I feel sorry for the owner/manager who I met a few months back. He seems like a hardworking guy, and Mourad in the city was spectacular. I hope he can find people who are willing to welcome people to try and enjoy his food. People have many choices where to spend their money, it's nice to be appreciated. read more

Shout out to Moro Moroccan Street Food in the Oxbow Public Market, Napa! We keep coming back for more because this place is an absolute gem. The Lamb or Shrimp plate with couscous is out of this world--seriously a flavor explosion in every bite. The spices and freshness of the ingredients make every dish a trip to flavor town, and it's definitely worth the price. And if you're looking to splurge a bit, definitely add the fries with their delicious aioli sauce--they're a must-try! Just a heads-up, some of the dishes have a spicy kick, which we love, but it's good to know if you're heat-sensitive. Tried the beef + bread + pickled onions - pleasantly surprised. I was unsure of what to expect from my lunch based on the food descriptions but when I received the beef I was in awe! Loved the sweetness to it and it was perfectly tender. Melted right in the mouth and paired well with the pickled onions. The bread was okay - side note with the side of bread, I was expecting like a flat bread. Wish they were more clear that the bread option is basically a sandwich. We visited this location for the fit time and definitely will not be back. Good is ok, the young men that help us wad pleasant but not knowledgeable about gluten allergy. I will admit that I should have known but didn't that couscous was not gluten free. My first thing that asked was --- is there anything gluten free in your menu. After I started eating, I started feeling add and google about couscous, obviously stopped eating right away. Went to the cash register to tell the young men that he needed to be more careful about this because it could be very dangerous for someone. Having enjoyed Moroccan food in SF, and San Jose I was pleased to hear MORO moved into the CiCasa spot at Oxbox before expanding into the larger restaurant space they now have overlooking the Napa River. So for lunch My friend and I ordered the Lamb over salad and Beef over salad with mint tea ( Which I thought would be hot) and both very tasty, unique and rich in culinary flavors and variety. The serving was ample and the service was prompt, friendly and energetic. We sat outside at the open tables in the cool Fall air and noted the presentation of the salads was well done, the straws were recyclable and happy to have some diversity of options in Napa and will definitely be coming back. The prices were reasonable given the serving size and the quality of meat and produce was fresh and the preparation detailed . For me the meat was not overdone and I prefer my meats not overcooked so that was a big plus to enjoy the juicy lamb and beef both being not dry. I do miss the traditional sit on the floor cross legged and eat honey chicken with your hands but the oxbow space is not big enough for that! read more

Just finished eating the chicken Shawarma dish. Well, it was pretty average, short on flavor, and didn't live up to the hype of the Yelp reviews. The heavy set Caucasian guy that took my order at the counter was gruff and not very helpful or friendly. I am a proud "POC" (person of color), and it clearly appeared he was much more friendly & accommodating with the Caucasian people who ordered after me. That said, food was not worth $25 & portion was quite small. With all the excellent food options at Oxbow, I would not recommend this place to anyone, particularly if you are a "POC". read more

Loved this new Moroccan street food gran and go offered by renowned chef Mourad Lahlou. They just opened last week and I was happily impressed. We ordered: Beef on couscous - slow-cooked short rib grilled w/ el hanout, honey and green charmoula. This was tender, savory and when paired with the slightly sweet couscous...delicious and filling. Couscous was a mix of raisins, chickpeas, sliced almonds and harissa. Shrimp on salad - the shrimp was grilled and basted in red charmoula with preserved lemon. The salad was romaine and kale in a rose vinaigrette with tomatoes, dates and Kalamata olives. The shrimp was well marinated with a nice brightness from the lemon and a nice combination with the salad. We also picked up the eggplant zarlouk- A savory and lemony puréed eggplant topped with pine nuts and served in a plastic twist top jar and accompanied with flat breads. So good! My wife and I went for lunch specifically to try Moro. OMG, the food was stunning, especially the short ribs in a salad. The ribs were the most amazing I have ever had anywhere. I think they are made in the same 3-day process as Morad does. The spices were just so delightful and the salad had unusual spices and fresh ingredients that made it a joy to eat. I love my little less than an hour getaway to Napa, and was thrilled when I discovered this place. Unfortunately, I won't be going back, as no matter how much I like the food. I'd rather spend my money at a place where I will have a pleasant experience. I always order the lamb on flatbread, and in the past, although the salad isn't really offered as a side (the mains come with either flatbread, salad or couscous), I have always been able to get it as a side. It doesn't seem like such an unreasonable request. Today I was charged the price of the entire main ($21) for the salad. Pretty outrageous, and I told the guy taking my order that I have never paid $21 for a salad. I should have just refused, but I was ordering to go, he had already rung it up, and I was in a hurry. When I got back to where I am staying, I realized he had given me two mains - one with flatbread and one with salad - not at all what I wanted. Something is off here. Since I have been able to get it in the past, I suspect the restaurant just isn't training their staff well enough. That's the generous assumption. The other is they just have now instituted a lousy policy. Either way, as I said above, I'd rather spend my money where I have a pleasant experience. read more

The food was amazing. I had the chicken couscous and a piece of the corn bread with harissa sauce. My coworkers had the chicken flat bread and loved it. The couscous was amazing. It was my first time trying it and I plan on going back. The service was great. The people who worked there were very friendly and the food came out quickly. Good lunch spot! Met with a few of our carnivorous friends at the Napa Oxbow Market where all of us could find something to fancy our appetite. This was the first time that Moro was open since I'd been there last. On a tray there was a sampling of their harissa candied pecans that I gobbled up instantly! The service was spectacular and without any question I was able to make their cauliflower entree vegan. They offer a selection of main that can be made in to either a flatbread wrap with pickled veggies and fresh greens, a delicious looking salad abundantly full of fresh produce or topped on a traditional couscous with raisins, almonds, chickpeas, and pea shoots. I opted for the wrap which was topped with two of their dairy free sauces and a side of fries. I of course had to purchase two of their containers of the pecans that I sampled. As I sat down with my friends and partner at a table in the middle of the busy market my first bite brought a hushed silence and I was immediately in flavor heaven! Everyone gazed at my choice with intrigue and with another mouthful I told them they would not be disappointed! I'm already thinking of my next one just as we've departed. Lastly, and the most unexpected treat of the meal had to be the pickle spear. I would definitely call myself a pickle girl but I believe this could convince even the most picky pickle eaters to rethink their choices. 100/10!!! read more

So I thought I'd try the new Moroccan street good restaurant Moro I loved the food at Moro. Very impressed. Looking forward to working through the menu. I had the Beef . You have a choice of protein along with a choice of salad, couscous or flatbread. Get the Couscous (you can always order a side of the other). It was light and fluffy with a drizzle of an aromatic sauce, slivered almonds and sweet plump yellow raisins. The beef comes sliced and extremely tender. Marinated with a great seasoned rub. Flavors really balanced. Good portions. Was going to take half home but ate it all!! This would make great take out. Great addition to the Oxbow venue. read more

Wow wow wow. I have been to Mourad and Aziza, so I had some obvious expectations for this place. It's in the Oxbow market, which isn't the typical setting compared to his other restaurants. But, don't ever let that stop you from trying it. The food is exceptional and is definitely up to the standards of his other restaurants. I found everything to be ridiculously delicious. The kind of delicious where you take a bite and you smile thinking, "This is actually stupid how good it is". The beef short rib over couscous and the lamb wrapped in flatbread were especially great, and the fries were good- it was just the sauces that carried them (which are amazing). Don't skip out on the cornbread or zaalouk either, I promise you won't regret it. Can't wait to visit again one day! read more

I needed a quick take-out dinner and caught sight of the new Moro at The Oxbow. Although I rarely get meat, I tried the beef short rib with salad. WOW!! The flavors were brilliant from the first bite. The meat was flavorful and tender, and the salad had wonderful ingredients ( such as chunks of cucumber, pickled onion, date pieces, tomato, etc and an herbal dressing) that blended into a very memorable meal.
