Morra Mia is a family favorite and my uncle has always taken me here everytime I'd visit El Paso. It has such a nice classy and jazzy vibes and they have really cool spots and props to take pictures that would be really good for Instagram! Ambiance is also such a vibe and they play pretty cool music everytime I'm there! Food wise, I would highly recommend their mole! I know that mole is an acquired taste and I was nervous on trying it for the first time, because I mean who wouldn't? Chocolate with meat just doesnt look that appetizing, but boy, I was wrong. I ordered pancakes that came out burned and had a hair in them that was not mine. They did not taste good and the hair discovery made the whole thing worse. We paid around $50 for 2 people having pancakes and I had a mimosa. For the quality that I got I would say absolutely not worth it. We did reach out to management and he apologized and wants to make things right. I appreciate him calling us back! We ordered a considerable amount of food and drinks and decided to take our time leaving.....apparently this is not allowed here. Know these things before considering giving them your business: 1. You're not allowed to sit and chat after your meal is finished. You must be ordering a constant flow of drinks or meals to occupy a table at anything. 2.The food is not flavorful and it's overpriced. 3. Drinks are very expensive here. Plan on at least 12-20 a drink. 4. The waitresses are rude and will ask you to leave (no matter if the restaurant is empty or not) once she feels your time is up. 5. Expect the waitress to be rude and not personable. 6. If you plan to come here to socialize, go somewhere else where there isn't a time limit on how long you're allowed to be at your table. Morra Mia. Basically if you took a trendy restaurant in Mexico City and transported it here, this would be it. Everything here is larger than life: the size of the restaurant (4 dining areas, 2 bathrooms), the size of the plates, the flavors in the food, the number of screens. The service was on point and very attentive, they were trained well and made some suggestions on the menu, and regularly checked on us. I got the molcajete arrachera and the meat was tender, the beans and cheese under were melted and flavorful with the heat of the volcanic stone. The tortillas were clearly handmade and fluffy. My friend ordered the mahi mahi, the fish was very fishy tasting, but tender and the cilantro rice was really good. There was a strong flavor of lime throughout all the dishes. It wasn't really citrus, just sour, and it made the flavors stand out. The chips and salsa was good but spicy. We got the horchata with unlimited refills and it was creamy and refreshing, not gritty. The clientele was a good mix of business people, dates, mommy meetups and friends. I could see this being a great date night option or dinner with friends with large sharable plates. It would also be a great place to take out of town guests as well. The atmosphere was like a sport bar (with multiple screens) mashed up with a nightclub (bright colors and art) with trendy music. I liked the positive energy. I liked it a lot and am curious to try out the other dishes. It's a bit pricey but the amount of food compensates. We found out about this place through a friend. Amazing atmosphere. Has almost a club vibe and the decor is really cool. We ordered a double cheese nacho with cauliflower for an appetizer. For drinks we got the sangria and jalapeño cucumber margarita. I will say, wasn't a fan of the sangria but that could just be me. Loved the margarita though. For dinner he got the skirt steak and I got the steak tips. Both very good. I gave them 4 stars cause we had to chase our waitress down to get attention and the check. Now for postre we had the Pie de Elote and the Flan. The pie was more of a CaKE consistency and it came with rompope and vanilla ice cream. I "accidentally" poured the whole rompope on it lol which basically made it into a delicious drunken cake. Got seated right away. Our server Oscar was phenomenal! Gave us great recommendations. The four entrees we got were the Shrimp de mis amores, Birria Jalisco style, Chicken Enchiladas and La Gringota with the Pozole. Everything was amazing! I had the Birria - my first time. The beef was seasoned perfectly and so tender! The broth was lip smacking good. I also had a Tequila drink that was so delicious. There is plenty of free parking, and it is conveniently located. Friday night. It's packed but I was set on my birthday dinner and we waited an hour +. Worth. The. Wait They start you with chips and salsa - uhhhhmazzzing! Drinks were great, well made, good flavor balance and the cup was super cool. They offer both draft and bottle. They also offer various mixed cocktails. We started with two appetizers. Queso fundido and the queso with guacamole. Both are delicious but be warned the queso and guac is spicy but the good kind of spicy! Then came the parrilladas and WOW! They are plentiful, well served and great flavor. They come with steak (arrachera/skirt) chicken, shrimp and chorizo. I was not a fan of the chorizo and in my opinion it needed to be cooked more. Comes with a small queso fundido, toreados and grilled onions. The steak was tender and with an incredible taste, the shrimp was awesome and not over cooked or rubbery and the chicken was great too. The chicken mole enmoladas or enchiladas I personally loved the flavor. Mole is the kind of dish that you either like it or don't. I love mole and this mole is sweet and savory and rich. My little cousin who actually ordered it didn't care for it, who cares what he thinks lol jk jk. Our server Celene (I think I got her name right) was GREAT! She never skipped a beat, our drinks were never empty and we never felt like she wasn't attentive. We had two separate managers ask how we were but never felt it overbearing. As packed as they were the food was timely, the service superb, the atmosphere was fun and very hip but not overly done. The space is open, well spread out, greatly decorated. Seems like this is a pretty new place, love the ambience the decoration and the music. We went on a Saturday morning at 11am there was a 30-40 minute wait, my friend were working on a project in our laptop so we didn't mind the wait. Once inside the staff was friendly and helpful, I ordered the coffee lechero which is like a Mexican version of a latte and my friend ordered the cafe de olla both delicious! Then I got the chila-killers is a special recipe from the house they put green salsa, sauce made from blended beans and chorizo, avocado, cream and corona cheese obviously with the eggs on top, It was superb, the flavors mixed tasted so good it was different, my friend ordered some more well known green Chile chicken chilaquiles and I got a taste of that dish and it was also really good. The only downside is that I was ready to eat the upside down pineapple pancake but the server said they didn't have them today??? I don't know why or how but it was kind of sad; they did have pan dulce but I was already full and didn't order they look delicious though. I could see that the place is big but it seems like there at still some areas of the restaurant not open, once they do that place is going to be able to hold much larger audience and judging by their food it's probably going to be packed. Morra Mia is a new restaurant on the east side, beautiful on the exterior and interior. They serve breakfast on F-S and Sunday starting at 9:00 am. We ordered the red pork pozole, Tlacoyos with Arrachera (Next time l'll add two over medium eggs) and the Rancheros. The Rancheros and the Tlacoyos were beautifully presented, full of flavor and with fresh ingredients. The pozole had more pork than hominy, personally I like more hominy than meat. The pozole could have used more salt but it was still was delicious. My husband ate all of his rancheros, I ate only half of my breakfast because I was enjoying the pozole. The Cafe de Olla was delicious, sweet with a hint of cinnamon; unfortunately they don't have free refills. Their regular coffee was weak and lukewarm, which is a pet peeve of mine. Tried this place twice. First time was great! You are immediately greeted by a hostess who checks your temperature. The place is trendy and overall has a fun look to it. Our server was super attentive. Second time, our service was so slow. It took way to long to get refills on our water. Went here with my family. Hostess seemed irritated we had children with us. Server was not interested attending our table. Bottles of water were broken with sharp glass edges. We were charged an additional plate no one ordered and server was annoyed we asked have it removed. We ordered 4 kids meals and were charged an additional $8 a drink for each child despite not having any of their drinks refilled and having them supposed to be included in the meal price. It's absurd I took the family to Cattleman's and had better service and more food for half of what I paid at Morra Mia. This used to be a great place to eat and take out of town friends . Sunday afternoon for lunch with my wife and her mother. Was seated quickly especially considering the time of day (less than 5 minutes). The server was very accommodating for our needs. The food was merely okay and the appetizer (wings) did not come out until we were completely finished with the main courses. Waited more than 10 minutes for the bill to be brought to us. This is where the problem is. Receipt with a $19.17 tip. $20.00 was added as a tip by someone. This is very dishonest. Can I afford the $.83? Yes, but that isn't the point. This was not a mistake, it was intentional. Clearly marked on receipt. This happens more than you may imagine at businesses. Most people don't check, but I always do. We arrived and as we entered we were pleasantly surprised by the decor, it was very beautiful. We were promptly attended to and seated and then greeted by our waiter who took our order. We settled on the parrillada for 2 which consisted of grilled beef, chicken, homemade chorizo with grilled onions, jalapeños toreados and queso fundido with homemade corn tortillas. My wife also ordered an agua de Jamaica which was delicious. To say we were definitely satisfied is an understatement. The food was top notch, the service great and the ambiance was pleasant. First let me emphasize this review is on the new Pershing location. I have visited the original location on Montwood with no issues. Service was very lackluster, we were a medium sized table, but other than a handful of tables we were the only ones in the dining room. Service was terribly slow. Some of us had to share silverware and cloth napkins despite asking Multiple times for more place settings. Food was terribly slow and cups sat empty all night long. Finished plates were left at the table and it took us over 30 minutes to check out. Once checkout came, we found there was a charge for using a card. So we opted to pay in cash to avoid the fees, we had to literally chase the server down to charge us as the majority of the staff was hanging out talking. Once we did we waited 20 more Minutes to get... short changed. When brought to managements attention the customer experience manager replied "I didn't make your change" ... when asked to correct it he said "it's our policy to round down in favor of the restaurant" I asked him how that worked if we paid cash to avoid fees and adversely still lost $ to their "policy", to which he responded "here is a dollar, to round back up, you guys are all pathetic". Mind you this was from the "Customer Experience Manager". Yo be painstakingly clear, we wanted nothing but good service and our correct change. It seems illogical to penalize a customer for paying... which both the fee for credit card and rounding in favor of the restaurant policies aim to do. I've been in high level national service management roles for 20+ years and let me tell you hands down the worst experience I've ever had in any service establishment. The high schoolers at fast food restaurants out class this service easily. It's a shame, beautiful restaurant in an up and coming area with a great ambience but the service and particularly the management are not up to par. Won't return here and highly unlikely to frequent the Montwood location either as an establishment that allows this, just isn't for me. read more

I am a huge fan and stickler for authentic and fresh. This place nailed it. They bring great Mexican recipes to the table with a modern flair. The decor is vibrant and clean, the wait staff on this night was fast and friendly. This place gets very busy so you might experience a small wait, but you can see that all the workers are hustling. The food comes out fast because most of the orders just need to be plated. One word of advice on the mole, it was amazing BUT if you have a sensitive stomach or can't handle too many spices, please beware. It is handmade and is the real deal. You get your choices of: small or large, with pork or chicken and either rojo or blanco. Well silly, of course I'm going for traditional and pick the pozole rojo with pork!
