Not only is the food excellent, the whole vibe just feels right. We went on a Thursday evening and the place was packed. I had never heard of a Palisade peach before, but now I'll never forget them. WOW. I have family in Denver and I feel like they've been gatekeeping these peaches from me! I had the most amazing tomato, peach and burrata salad. It was smoky, sweet, and perfectly balanced. The tomatoes and peaches were both at their peak, and we were told it was actually the last night they were serving the dish because the peaches were just about done for the season. I'm so glad I got to try it. The calamari was also fantastic, with thinly sliced fried lemons mixed in--such a nice touch. The pizza was solid too. All in all, this is a great spot. I love the seasonality of the dishes and how thoughtfully everything is prepared. I'm definitely going to try to recreate that tomato, peach and burrata salad at home, although I have no idea how they got the perfect amount of smoke into that dish. read more

Every time I go to Morso, I want to go again. We need more Morso. I'd love to see them do lunch, even with a gap before evening to reset the kitchen and seating, like the team does at Santo. And like both Santo and the Market at Blackbelly, even a little breakfast item would be fun. Maybe not a burrito which works well with ingredients at the other two locations, maybe a mini personal size breakfast pizza, one with meat and one without, like the burritos. Is there such a thing as breakfast pizza? If anyone could invent it, I think this is the team to do so. Besides great and beautiful food here, a major asset like the other restaurants in the group, is the parking, and plenty of it. Each lot serves the restaurant as well as other nearby businesses. If you can't park right in the quadrant where the restaurant is, like we could not do last night, in Table Mesa, you can just go around the corner of the same lot that stretches all the way up to King Soopers. Another thing they could add if they want to do it, is takeout for the pizzas. They have fun flavors that are very tasty and not available everywhere. Our next visit will include a clam pizza. You will notice in all of my pictures from here, that the food is already partially eaten. My dining partners have to remind me that Yelp likes pictures of full views. These items have been so attractive and always tasty, that I jump in with a fork first. I promise to restrain myself next time. The Trout Puttanesca was different from other pictures I have seen on these reviews, this time rather than slices, the whole side of the fish was in one piece. It was tender moist and perfectly grilled. The sauce was actually deconstructed, with the vegetables individually presented, the capers were a garnish as were the chives and if you do not want the capers, as I have digestive issues with them, I could have ordered without. In this presentation though they are easy to separate. The basil, like in the Big Green Salad, was served as fresh full leaves which I love. My husband's shrimp were enormous and had the parmigiana crust on each individually. The Big Green Salad was full of a variety of very fresh local greens, multiple forms of lettuce, both red and green, several types of smaller greens including the basil and some fennel, and a light shallot dressing. It was an enormous bowl full that could have fed 4 so we brought some home too. A wonderful celebratory dinner for our anniversary, in every way! read more

Not surprising, this place is excellent. 4 of us went and shared several items. There wasn't anything we didn't love. I can't wait to go back! The tomato gin gimlet cocktail was amazing - savory + sweet. Very unique and tasty. I appreciate the creativity with it. The burrata and penne vodka were my favorite items. The pizza, while it took a while to come out (we weren't stressed on timing - apparently the first one burnt and they had to remake it), was great. The peaches in the buratta and the nightly special they had were so fresh and good. The dessert of ice cream + evoo was so simple and hit the spot. Decor is adorable. This is our second time to eat here since they opened and we are thrilled to have a lively, classy, and amazing Italian restaurant in South Boulder. The Caesar Salad is delicious and fresh. The focaccia is a dinner all by itself with butter and olive oil. We've also had 3 different pizzas that are all fabulous: hot honey, mushroom and clam. Even the Mozzarella stick is a twist on the old stand-by and is delicious! The Negronis are fabulous and I had wonderful Falanghina that will be my new white go-to! We are always greeted and welcomed by friendly staff and when it's your neighbor that's even better! Our server answered our questions and made great recommendations. Had a fabulous meal here It was nice to see the action of the bar and kitchen, the house was full and the space was quite noisy... Had several apps all of which were great, I enjoyed the meat balls and the calamari. Fooled by a proud of pizzas, one hot honey and a clam pie, both were enjoyable with a great wood fire crust. For entrees we got eggplant parm, chicken parm, chicken Scarpariello and short rib pasta... all were very well excited and I particularly enjoyed the eggplant parm. For dessert we got one of each and shared, the raspberry sorbet and Tiramisu were standouts. Wait staff was on top of everything and the only thing missed in rotation was my wife's wine order which was brought as soon as we mentioned it again. Over all 4.9 stars. read more

We had such a wonderful experience at Morado! As someone who eats gluten-free, I really appreciated how accommodating everyone was. Our busboy was an awesome, super cool kid who made our whole group feel comfortable and never made us overthink the service charge added to the bill, we obviously tipped based on the experience because the service and quality were beyond expectations. I love it when a local business just nails it! Moreso has filled a need in the market and totally delivers. We had the olives, half chicken, trout, broccolini and potatoes. Everything was incredible. Service was super friendly and efficient. Chef came over for a chat and was very personable and down to earth. Penne vodka was good - the sauce perfectly coated the pasta. The pasta was perfectly al dente. The burrata was weird with bacon but the cheese itself was good. The focaccia is great. Cocktails/drinks were bad. Espresso martini was too sweet. The old fashioned was packed with so much cubed ice that it just became bourbon flavored water after 10 minutes. The wine list could be a little more diverse. Our waitress was knowledgeable but lacking in luster. She did the bare minimum. The host didn't greet us at the door and looked at us blankly instead of saying hi and asking if we had a res. She did seat us in the comfy chairs with a drink menu and a waiter took our order promptly and had an enthusiastic attitude. He helped us while we dined too. He was great and knowledgeable. The ambience is mixed. Nice and bright but the acoustics are terrible. Nothing exists to absorb the sound so it is very loud inside. We sat at a table by the host stand and it really felt like we were on the outside - could use something like a statue between the host and bar to form a more deliberate entrance into the actual restaurant. The menu and logo designs remind me of 5th grade. They could complement each other a little bit more. Italian food has deep roots and deserves a more sophisticated and timeless design. The new Italian restaurant South Boulder is a welcome addition to the restaurant scene down here as there are a lot of ok places but nothing higher end like Morso. I had the chicken marsala which was good and tasty and the Caesar salad, which I thought was excellent. My wife had trout puttanesca which was also excellent. Our only complaint with each of them is that they should come with a starch since it is a Italian restaurant so maybe rather than charge an extra seven bucks for the pasta, just make the meat portion maybe a little less and just include the Pasta. read more

Had dinner with my son on opening night. Atmosphere is fantastic. We sat in front of the open kitchen. The staff and chefs were super friendly. Drinks and food were delicious. After we finished our meal, I realized I forgot to take pictures. I guess the dishes looked so good, I dove into eating instead of snapping pics! lol. Came in @5:45 to sit down at the bar and grab a few bites with one other person. Was told no open bar seating there is a waitlist to sit at the bar with 4 open seats at bar (came earlier in week and sat at bar) Was told it would be 30-45 min to sit at the bar. Okay - 2 hours later I call as I never received a text for bar seating. Called and was told "hold on let me see if there is seating available because it's open seating" I say hey we came by at 5:45 to sit at the bar and were denied and told there was no open seating. Felt like I had to call in order to get my reservation ? Was sat by a manager and was barely greeted / any accountability when I expressed my frustration with 2 hour wait time, no call back, no open bar seating. For fine dining prices the lack of accountability and lack of communication was very disappointing. I'm all good with waiting but don't tell me it's going to be 30-45 min and we end up waiting 2 hours and me having to call to get a seat at THE BAR. I understand it's busy and new, I loved my first visit. Second visit was disappointing. Food was pretty good. Calamari was not as crispy as we'd like. Bartenders / servers at bar have been kind and helpful and this review does not reflect on them. The drinks are really good. read more

Food was amazing. We ordered many items to share for our party of six. Highlights include the meatballs, xl mozzarella stick, and calamari for starters. Hot honey pepperoni pizza was amazing, clam pizza was a bit spicy for me, but not for anyone else. The chicken Parm and eggplant parm were delicious. The server, Kelsey recommended the half chicken and it was FiRe! I loved the short rib pasta, it had a different flavor profile than the linguini and it was very flavorful. Everything was executed perfectly and service was quick and attentive, despite the full restaurant. Prices were very reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food. We tried the tiramisu and both soft served ice creams. They were fantastic! The restaurant comped a delicious raspberry sorbet for a birthday celebration, unexpected and delightful! We were genuinely excited to welcome Morso to our neighborhood and chose it to celebrate my son's 21st birthday. I really wanted this to become one of our family's regular spots. The food was good, and we appreciated the complimentary birthday dessert. I also want to recognize Irvin, the host, who handled the confusion with our reservation professionally and made us feel welcome despite the mix-up. Unfortunately, the pricing was a major disappointment. A $10 beer and a $26 chicken Parmesan that didn't even include a side dish felt excessive, especially for a neighborhood restaurant. Neighborhood restaurants thrive because families can enjoy them regularly, not just on special occasions. At these prices, plus paying extra for sides and then seeing an unexpected kitchen surcharge on the bill, it's hard to imagine coming back often. I truly hope Morso succeeds because our community has been waiting for a good Italian restaurant. But success in a neighborhood isn't just about serving good food--it's about creating a place where local families feel they can return again and again. Greater transparency, more reasonable pricing, and eliminating surprise fees would go a long way. read more

The food was delicious and well prepared, the service was excellent and our server was really fun to talk with. And the decor and seating was very comfortable and elegant. The owners could turn the lighting down a bit to make it less industrial and more romantic/cool. The menu is limited, but our dishes were great. The burrata appetizer was excellent. Portions were generous except for the vodka Rigatoni. The eggplant is good and chicken Marsala was great. We did not appreciate a 7% kitchen convenience fee. Just add it into the price. A $20 meal would be $21.40. Big deal. But seeing a 7% kitchen convenience fee, 10% tax and expected minimum 20% tip adds almost 40% to the final tally. read more

Went to dinner there on a Sunday evening. The staff was wonderful, everyone. However, there were definitely some issues with service. One pizza did not come out. The calamari was OK not great. The giant mozzarella sticks were fun, my son loved that. My mom hated the cucumber salad and said the cucumbers were in edible from being too old. I did love these sausage hatch chili pizza. The biggest concern is that it is incredibly loud in the restaurant to the point where there is no conversation at the table possible. I would give it another chance, but not until they work on the acoustics. It just is unmanageable, especially if you are bringing people that are older but honestly left with a headache. And a 7% kitchen charge is more than I have ever seen read more
