The food was excellent and so was the service during the meal. However, our party of eight didn't appreciate the sales pitch to join some points club when the check was presented. The waiter literally interrupted our family conversation in order to sell us on it. I politely said "no thanks" and the waiter then replied by trying to overcome my objection with some other reason to sign up. Is Morton selling timeshares, used cars or annuities too? Took my bf here to celebrate his BDay. Let me start off saying, I've never eaten here before and was looking forward to it. My bf and I are big foodies. We love to cook but try new restaurants especially for special occasions. Walked in, no one was at the desk to greet or sit us. Waited about 10 minutes and someone did seat us. Nicely pulled table out so we can get into the booth. We ordered the meatballs as an appetizer. It came as 2 large meatballs great size but, they smelled burnt. The meat was dark in color and I bit into a hard pice probably reheated Breadcrumbs inside of the meatball. The chef should have been ashamed to serve that. You could smell the burnt sauce when it came to the table. 2nd we did the Cesar salad. I know Cesar is made with anchovies. But the dressing tasted straight fishy no other flavors. For dinner we ordered the Tomahawk bone-in Ribey med rare. Came perfectly cooked, and seasoned to perfection. For the sides, we ordered lobster mac and cheese which was tasty & 3 piece Lobster and crab ravioli. (Which wasn't good either. Taste lake canned crab in the filling, and the sauce wasn't very flavorful) overall VERY disappointed for a well know steak house. I'm sure a lot of people worked very hard to get the Morton's name to be as big as it is, and the Fort Lauderdale location is making it a bad name. We have not been back here in a while. Surprised on how packed it was when we arrived. We had 8:30'pm Reservations & had to wait a half hour to be seated. The waiter was very friendly & nice upon arrival. We called ahead letting them know it was a special occasion dinner. They dropped of a delicious onion bread & butter & we ordered cocktails and wine which were amazing. For appetizers we had salads & bacon. The salads Were delicious & halfway through our salad the waiter tells Us our dinner is ready we told him to hold it as we weren't finished with our salads yet. The minute we dropped the fork the food arrived! You can tell that it was sitting for a while everything wasn't hot. Unfortunately eating at a upscale Steakhouse frequently the quality was just okay. We asked for the steak to be cooked medium well & that didn't happen. In fact, no one even came over to inquire whether our steaks were cooked to our likings. The truffle fries tasted like Parmesan only & they were not hot. It's sad to say that no one came over to ask about our dinner or pour any wine. We asked for steak sauce and the waiter brought it over when we were almost done. We felt extremely rushed & food service and delivery was absolutely horrible. Haven't been to Morton's in 5-years or so. Was a special occasion and fancy dinner staple for years. Needed a last minute reservation, and NOTHING was available in the area. Gulp. Found we could walk into Morton's. It's been 5-years. Must have worked out the kinks. Got seated, chairs were very uncomfortable. Plenty of open tables, and they quickly accommodated a move. Got a new table, comfy, open kitchen view. Was feeling good. Waiter was an upsell machine. At first it was charming? I don't know. Entertaining anyway. Ordered a bottle of wine (retail ~$30, Morton's ~$80) waiter tried to interpret as another wine from the same vineyard for $270. So the charm was getting old. Appetizers came out pretty quick and we enjoyed splitting the tuna. Bit the upsell on the Kansas City bone-in strip. Got lots of dry aged, hand trimmed, full of flavor, was easier to accept it then get Mr. Upsell to slow his roll. Wife got a filet, which is what she went in wanting. Not too busy, but meal was taking some time. Manager running spec at the kitchen was sending things back. Was an interesting display. We were entertained enough to accept the wait on the meal. Sides getting slid around, sent back, manager trying potatoes, rejecting them, was like watching Gordon Ramsey live. Damn. What sucker is getting all that food!?! Hahah Wait... we got the Brussels sprouts and split a baked potato. Gulp. Yep. It's coming our way. Well the sliding and sorting was heat lamps to keep the food warm. Until something else got in the way. Then soggy sprouts and two cold halves of a split potato. Then the steak. Worst steak I've had in a long time. Positively bad in every way. Cold, over cooked, tough. I was sawing through it. Manager spotted it and came to talk. Then replaced our sides. Left the steaks. Then came the new sides. Then went the old steaks. Then new steaks and mine was just as bad. The filet was ok, but not worth the cost or hassle. Manager punted. Wanted us to come back another time. Kansas City strip was being pushed heavy to get rid of them no doubt. And so dies a once great institution of delicious gluttony. Ordered delivery from here and it was a hit and miss. The food was definitely fresh. I LOVED the crabmeat cocktail! That I will order again in the future. The Burrata salad was not really a favorite. wow! Not a great New Years Eve experience. Had to switch tables to the main room, as we did not want to be seated in a back room in the corner, facing walls. Only one kind of bread, which was good. We started out with meatballs and salads. very fair. The French fries and all the steaks we ordered, had no taste. The spinach was the only item that was good. We asked for some steak sauce to make our steaks taste better, not being told after a $400 check, they would charge us for it, ridiculous! We were never asked once if everything was good? We all ordered 8 ounce steaks and everyone got one except for me. Mine was half the size, I had to take a picture because it was hilarious. I cut into the steak and it's rare instead of medium. The manager comes I've because the servers wouldn't fix it, he explains how the other people at the table just got lucky and I just wasn't lucky enough and got a smaller one. He said he wouldn't cook me a new one but it would be exactly the same small size. They took the steak back to fix the temperature, everyone else finished their meal, and at dessert time I had to tell them to just forget about the steak because all the sides were gone and everyone was done eating. Luckily for me, they didn't charge me for the steak I didn't get to eat. Houston's makes this place look like a joke. I recently dined at here with my family, and while the ambiance was pleasant overall, I must express my disappointment with a particular incident. The restaurant boasted a lively atmosphere, with the noise level reaching around 80 decibels. However, my experience took an unexpected turn when the manager Brad approached me 2 times stating that playing a video on my cellphone to calm my child wasn't permitted due to noise concerns. He claims that they don't allow videos and that I had to completely turn off my phone. This policy struck me as rather unusual, especially given the ambient noise level in the establishment. Having frequented numerous fine dining establishments, I've never encountered such a restrictive policy. It's disheartening to feel restricted, especially when attempting to ensure a peaceful experience for my family. I won't be coming back here thanks Brad. Steak restaurants in Boca are a dime in a dozen here so we won't be missing Morton's. On a positive note our server J.P was wonderful and on point. Tessa was our waitress, and she was so sweet and went beyond our expectations. We had the St Valentine's 3 course special dinner and the cocktail, and we can't say anything negative about the whole experience. The manager checked on us and took amazing details with us. At times I would love to, but truth be told, I can't spend much cash! Fortunately, Morton's "power hour" offers delicious food and drinks at discounted prices. It's happy hour done right! During this time, beer is $5.50, wine is $8, mortinis and cocktails are $9, and bar bites (small meals) are $7 or $8. It's so worth it and the bar section, where the "power hour" is held, was not crowded at all. I went with a glass of Pebble Lane pinot noir and the short rib steak tacos. We had our Thanksgiving dinner the other day at Morton's in Boca Raton. We were seated immediately as our reservations were on the earlier side. Our server was bubbly Jennifer who immediately took our drink orders and made sure my request with the bartender was tended to. I ordered off the Thanksgiving special prix fixe menu which included salad, main course and dessert. My salad was delicious as well as the turkey breast and sides. The pumpkin cheesecake was scrumptious! We had a gluten free diner in our party and her requests were accommodated. Overall the food, service and ambience was very good especially considering it was a crowded holiday and we never felt rushed. Our server asked us if we were part of their rewards program and when l remembered l might be, she took the time to look it up and apply our rewards to the proper account. We decided to go out for a steak dinner which we do about once a month. We alternate between your competitors, however they couldn't accommodate us. It was suspect that it was easy to get a reservation and your restaurant was 75% full. It was a total negative experience which started with the cocktails and ended with the "promotion purchase " after the server was aware that nothing went well. Cocktails: my wife and I ordered martinis and were served in 2 different types of glasses. It seemed that my wife's pour was half the size of mine. I asked the waiter to explain this. He told us that it was the same amount in both but looked different because of the shape of the glasses. I asked him to bring an empty glass identical to mine which he did. When I poured my wife's drink into the glass identical to mine it measured 1/2 the amount of mine. The server responded that the next round the bartender will be less generous. He then returned with 1/4 oz to be added to my wife's drink. Oysters were not plump or briny. They were comparable to the dollar oyster deals that many local restaurants have during the week. I ordered a Prime NY Strip which was mediocre. My wife ordered a Prime bone in ribeye and was served a ribeye without a bone. This was corrected, however the quality was mediocre and very thin. French fries were cold and sent back. Sides were ok. The Irish coffee was cold. I think the server who was very nice and personable, was poorly trained and lacked the sophistication that a premium steakhouse should have. We really wanted to LOVE Mortons and add it to our rotation of steak houses in Boca Raton but based on our experience we can't find a reason to return. read more

The onion bread and salted butter was delicious. Old fashion also outstanding. Filet was good, cooked a perfect medium rare but no char or crisp at all. There was liquid or broth on the plate, not juice from the steak which caused texture to be soft more like at a cheaper steak place. Still good but not great. Lobster bisque came lukewarm, Miko sauce bass (2x) came at almost room temperature, and it was flavorless. Ribeye (2x) at $65 a portion was supermarket grade, not near the Butchers quality we are used to. First of all the starters took 45 mins to come out. And once they did come out they were hard and cold. Definitely not fresh at all. We even asked our server when did they make these and he even said the night before. And the lobster raviolis were cold in the middle. We told our server and he did take the starters off the bill. Our main course which I got the filet mignon 8oz medium rare, my mother got the rib eye, medium well butterflied, my grandmother got the French onion soup, and my brother got the waygu steak medium rare, oh also we got 2 sides; French fries and a baked potato for my mother. Here comes the good part about this one star, my grandmothers soup came out cold, my steak was rare as can be, they ran out of baked potatoes when the server told us they made enough for the night, also her steak wasn't butterflied, and they thought they could bring extra fries to compensate of not having the bake potato. We had reservations at 730 when they close at 9, we left at 930. The server just kept on repeating himself saying, sorry this and sorry that, like we get it but you're not helping our frustration. Then a manager came and said sorry but again doesn't help my mothers birthday dinner. Then they also offered us a free desert. We looked that them like we will never come back here. I've come to expect great things from steakhouses, especially chains like Cut, Mastros/OceanClub, Morton's, Smith & Wollensky, Ruth's Chris, and Fleming's -- in that order. It's a very small location. The entrance is on the bar side (with TV's), and then a second larger room is to the left. The bar side was nearly full for a good buzz, but for a business dinner with 3 of my co-workers we sat at a table in a near empty dining room with 4 other diners. The server proved to be inexperienced. He didn't have a personality to cover that up either. Nice, but not pro that I've come to expect from a fine place. And, with that, the food was outstanding. I got: * Sliced Beefsteak Tomato & Bleu Cheese Salad [4.0 stars] * 10 oz Filet Mignon that couldn't be better [5.0 stars] * Sides of mixed mushrooms, creamed spinach, fries -- all awesome. Stopped by Morton's last week at about 5:00 PM for Happy Hour. Walked into the bar area and surprisingly found the bar empty. No one! Void! Zilch! Nada! An otherwise 5:00 PM bustling, Happy Hour crowd was not to be. There was no one at the bar and only two high-tops occupied, but otherwise nothing! We were greeted by a server who offered us a seat. We had a seat at a high-top and inquired about the Happy Hour Menu. The server stated that there was no Happy Hour that it was discontinued because "we were losing money." Surprised at such a statement from a $$$$ restaurant, I exaggerated a look around at the empty bar and restaurant and stated "it looks like you're losing money without Happy Hour." Based on his perplexed, then annoyed look, I don't think the server got it. Needless to say, we looked at each other, nodded and quickly exited the restaurant. If Morton's is known for anything, it's their Happy Hour. It seems lately that the go-to excuse for retail's woes is COVID. I'm a regular there, but last night pretty bad experience. Sat at the bar, and after a cocktail, I ordered food. Love their bread, last night they brought me out was obviously left over bread, sliced, which it never comes out anything but whole, and hard as a rock, bartender gave me an attitude when I asked for a fresh bread. Our waiter was excellent and the food was good. Having grown up in the high end restaurant business I was surprised to see that the GM went to every table except ours. We spent over $400.00 on our meal for a party of 3 and yet was disrespected by the management. If your going to spend top dollar for food and still be disrespected I'm of the opinion they won't get my money again nor will I recommend them. The food took way to long and although, we sat without it for over an hour the opportunity to do what was right by the GM never occurred. Stopping by the table and letting us know that we were valued customers would have sufficed along with an explanation.
