Surf & Turf - Filet & Lobster Tail

We had an amazing dinner at Morton's last week. The service was wonderful, and the food was probably the best we've had there. We enjoy this restaurant eat there probably about once every month or so. The restaurant is on the dark side, so good for romantic dinners. Our entrees (ribeye steak, surf & turf) were so delicious and perfectly cooked. The baked potato was the best we'd ever eaten - very creamy. And although I didn't take a picture, we started with the Alaskan Crab Legs, while expensive, were so worth it. Also lots and lots of easy parking. You really can't go wrong here if you love a good steak house.

Always on the hunt for a classy steakhouse and a perfectly chilled martini, I surprisingly over the years had never made it into Morton's. That changed on Christmas Day as we came in for a late lunch & to break the tradition of slaving away for a big holiday feast. Morton's came in clutch and was a great spot to dine for the holiday. The ambiance is classic steakhouse. A little dated but giving those old school vibes, I could appreciate it. We were seated in the back room which was quieter and cozy, however a little too warm (those older folks like it hot). So while it was a relaxed meal, not the most comfortable and by the end of the meal I did have to note to the staff how abnormally warm it was and they agreed. Too bad I didn't speak up earlier because maybe it would have been more comfortable. Staff however were lovely. From start to finish the staff were all really great and attentive. I'm sorry I don't remember our servers name but she was a sweet gal - bubbly, funny but professional, she brought great vibes. Pacing of the meal was also really good. Cocktails were average. I had better cocktails the night before so it left these drinks being a little lackluster. They made an attempt of a lychee martini which we appreciated but it wasn't fabulous. Our additional of a martini and Mai Tai were fine. 3.5/5 stars. The star of the show for me was the starter lobster bisque and my steak. I'm pretty picky with lobster bisque but theirs here wowed me. The serving size was pretty big (so more bang for your buck). Good pieces of lobster and the soup flavor was very tasty. 4.5/5 stars. Ribeye - cooked to absolute perfection and deliciously seasoned. Their whipped butter and pepper sauce were tasty and honestly a great steak comparable to any of the other 4-5 star steakhouses. 5/5 stars. The sides and other mains were kinda meh. I didn't mind the mashed potatoes but they were average. Skip the Brussel sprouts. For mains the salmon and chicken dishes were just okay. I think steak is the way to go here. Taking into consideration my parties feeling on their mains and the sides, I'd say overall main meal rating of 3/5 stars. Overall, you are paying a lot for the atmosphere, the brand name and the food....this definitely wouldn't be on my regular rotation of more upscale steakhouses to choose from as a whole. However, I did really really enjoy MY meal - it's just my entire parties experience was a little uneven, some hits and some misses. Probably all around experience was between a 3.5-4 stars. Not bad but I'd encourage you to give this spot a try for yourself. I left happily full and appreciative that they were open for the holiday, but there are better options in the desert. Still, 4 out of 5 stars ain't bad - good service & I love a tasty ribeye!

We had a great Valentine's Day dinner date here. We were able to make a quick reservation online on Open Table. The customer service was great, our server was very knowledgeable of the menu and had great recommendations. The bread was full of flavor and came out warm and toasted with great whipped butter. The rib eye was 5 it was juicy, full of flavor and the seasonings were amazing. The only reason I give this a 4 star is because of the sides. The spinach and mushroom was very mid and the potatoes were good but not great and for me, sides really pull the meal together.

I've always loved Morton's and it has long been one of my go-to spots in my city. Usually great service, great drinks and the vibe is always cool. I refer friends and clients here often, and I've dined at Morton's locations all across California. Because of that, I truly hope this experience was a one-off. Last night, I ordered my usual 12 oz filet mignon, and my wife ordered the ribeye. We also ordered our regular sides: cream of corn ,au gratin potatoes and onion rings. The filet was delicious as always, and the au gratin potatoes were excellent Onion rings were great. Unfortunately, the cream of corn--normally sweet and savory--was sour, and seemed expired which was very unusual. The larger issue came when my wife's Ribeye was brought out that was clearly not what we ordered. It appeared to be a New York strip. 4-5 inches thick about 8in long I even mentioned to the waiter that it looked like a New York strip, (which is what my daughter typically orders when we dine here) The server was great acknowledged, and brought the so-called (ribeye )back to the kitchen. The unfortunate side was that the current manager on duty Kenny, came to the table stated it was an end cut of a ribeye (I have been to Morton's over 100 times and I've never had an end cut of ribeye like this) to make it more interesting Kenny said he was previously a butcher. (which made it worse ) He continued to be argumentative with me and insisted it was a RibeyeI I understand cuts of meat, and I know I was not paying for an end cut ribeye. Instead of resolving the issue professionally, Kenny chose to argue with me about it being a ribeye. Unfortunately, this interaction completely took away from what should have been a fine dining experience. I wish I had taken a photo of the NY steak, but regardless, the way the situation was handled was disappointing. I dine at Morton's because of the consistency, quality, and service, and this experience did not reflect those standards. I remain a loyal customer and truly hope this was an isolated incident. I wanted to bring it to your attention because Morton's has always set a higher bar, and this visit fell short of what I've come to expect.

SHORT ANSWER: Kind of an update on my last review. For sure but if you like a traditional steakhouse, dark, no windows, fancy environment then this is your kind of place. LOCATION: Excellent location in upscale retail setting. Very nice entry and inviting. FACILITY: I will say the bar area inside and out is very nice, and a good hangout of locals. Outside is really nice with TV and open space, pretty quiet as well. It is not new, maybe a little dated but totally fine. MENU: In the dining room I am sure you can see the menu online, very traditional and expensive with a lot of upsell opportunities. Not really my cup of tea as I like a more modern experience but that is not Morton's or other fine dining restaurants in the Desert. FOOD PREP: On this night, less than I would expect from someplace like Morton's. It was food on a plate, my eyeballs did not enjoy Steak and Lobster my mouth was about to taste. It looked greasy and loanly as I did not spend on the upselling I guess. FOOD QUALITY: Ok, steak was buttered to death but meat quality was pretty good but salty and greasy which I guess is now their signature. To be honest my meal was terrible. LIBATIONS: Outside at the bar, excellent, upbeat staff, fun, and a younger crowd. WAITSTAFF: Inside, polite in a passive aggressive way. Nothing new, on our other visits here the same, just seems so stuffy. Always pushing upselling at every turn as I am sure that is how they get paid. OVERALL VALUE: At the bar during Happy Hour excellent! Inside not worth it, an old rich persons paradise perhaps but not my desert style. My 4 stars are for the respect I have for the brand over the last 30 years I have enjoyed Morton's in another cities. This location is disappointing and we will not return for inside dining but will do the happy hour. Our meal for 4 was just over $400.00 with tip, we did not order a bottle of wine. TIP: If you like a bright, open, friendly dining experience this is not it. and doubtful anything will change. But do pop in for Happy Hour which is the Ying to the bad Yang.

My husband and I went to Morton's on 4th of July weekend 2025 because we were stayed at JW Marriott near by. Parking : There was plenty of parking because they use the same parking lot in the plaza that has grocery store and other store in the same area. Vibe : Quite dark inside but cozy. Service : Our server was very nice.Everything came fast and I never have to ask for more water or more wine because they never let our glass empty. Food : I got sea bass and it was very good,Taste fresh and well seasoned. My husband got steak and lobster and it was great! And steak cooked the way we ordered. At the end they gave us an anniversary desert as well and we picked cheesecake and it was a wonderful way to complete our dinner. Do we want to come back next time we're in Palm Springs? Absolutely!

We went in to try the fun deal that they're advertising with one of my favorite champagne's everything was great I love the ambience of this restaurant. It's very romantic and dark lighting. I've been to several locations and I've always had a good experience but happen to be in the area and got the cool email for this deal going through the month of January. You decided to try it out. The sliders were great, and as always, the champagne was perfect. Our service was wonderful. He kept topping us off.

Morton's should be a solid 5+ experience; after dining there this evening I can see why it ranks in the 3 range on a scale of 5. The service is exceptional ~ as is the atmosphere, drink selection, wine, (most) side dishes, bread and deserts. My steak was perfect ~ as were the sautéed spinach and mushrooms! Unfortunately, the roasted Asparagus should have been either trimmed or taken off the menu entirely until next season. Only the top 2" could be eaten- the bottom halves of the spears could not even be cut with a steak knife! This dish in its current condition is a major distraction from the overall dining experience. I encouraged the chef and manager to order it for themselves to experience the dish...but I don't believe they even care...the same way that no one cares enough to visit the men's room to keep that experience at the same level as the rest of Morton's. I felt as though I was in a poorly maintained gas station bathroom off of Interstate 10. These little things combine to create the overall experience ~ and if neglected, that experience suffers. I'm sad to have to point out that someone should take personal responsibility for the customer experience here ...... but someone certainly should in this instance.

We were there a few nights ago and it was great. We sat in the bar area because we wanted something informal, but in ended being more. Kenny the manager went above and beyond. Our server Lalo was a mixing too. We definitely will come back. Thank you Kenny for the great service.

$26 champagne happy birthday to me! - August 2025
    Joanna R.

On the surface our dinner was excellent. We enjoyed the service from everyone and pleasantly surprised to see the GM and other management-types walking the dining room. We felt well-taken care of and while the dining room is quite loud, felt we had a solid experience and a great meal. However...I was shocked when the bill came. When we made the reservation, we stated that it was my birthday and were very kindly welcomed at the host stand and again by our server. Our server introduced himself and said, "Who's birthday is it? Oh, happy birthday! Would you like a glass of champagne?" I don't drink but will have a few sips of champagne or wine if it's offered as part of a special occasion. So, I accepted, and drank about 1/2 of the glass. And then was charged $26 for that glass of champagne. It's not uncommon at nicer restaurants to get a complimentary glass of wine or champagne when celebrating something. I know sometimes places offer desserts for birthdays. I enjoy dessert and happy to pay for a dessert that I order - I never expect it to be comped. But when the server greeted us with one sentence "Happy birthday would you like a glass of champagne?" separate from my husbands drink order, etc. It felt like it was a gift - especially since he didn't ask which champagne I'd like (which would have made me feel like I was ordering it and I would have declined). I was so shocked, and so confident, that when we paid the bill I said to our server, "I'm sorry...I saw the champagne on there? That wasn't complimentary?" and he looked at me and said, "No, it wasn't, sorry". So we happily paid for the champagne, the chocolate cake we ordered, and the rest of the $400+ dinner and gratuity. A few days later and I'm still shocked how that all transpired, especially when I had the guts to ask about it and he looked straight at me to let me know I will be paying for that $26 glass of champagne.

This was our second time here and we were thrilled with everything we got except maybe the cream spinach. Chris was our waiter and he was so good. We got the porterhouse steak for the table $135 and they took a few pieces and made them medium, and the rest was medium rare it was perfect! No one has ever suggested that before with one giant steak. We absolutely loved the seafood tower for $85 it was large and fabulous. I'm so mad I didn't bring my camera to take pictures since I don't see any pictures on the yelp site. For dessert we had the best Keylime pie that I have ever tasted. Chris explained they make all desserts in House! We will definitely rush back sometime soon.

This was our first time in. We have been to the other big names in the area in the past many times and for many special occasions. We decided to finally try Morton's tonight while celebrating our anniversary. The details here set the experience apart from the others. Our table was decorated and the complimentary photo keepsake was such a nice touch. We started with the wagyu meatballs. Incredible. We then had the dry aged ribeye with garlic butter and it was perfection. Cooked perfectly. For sides we had the au gratin potatoes and spinach with button mushrooms. The potatoes are decadent but delicious. I had the Orchard mocktail and it was a perfect light sip with my meal. My husband's loved the reserve margarita. Service was wonderful, attentive but not stuffy. It was an incredible dinner. To top off the incredible meal they then treated us to a wonderful apple pie desert. It was a great evening and in my opinion the front runner as far as great steaks in the desert. We will be back sooner than later I wanted to add that I wasn't sure what to expect per the recent reviews but I can say someone is reading them and taking them to heart. The whole staff was wonderful and an owner stopped by our table and was making rounds on the floor. Wonderful place to dine.

me and my boyfriend went here while we were visiting palm desert for our anniversary. since we were out of state, they actually double-checked our ids (which felt kinda weird, especially after i mentioned it was our anniversary). obviously we're both over 21, but it was just a little hiccup i still think about. after that though, the service was amazing and everyone made us feel really welcome. i ordered a moscato and he got a peanut water. we started with the wagyu beef tacos (so good), then i went light with just the french onion soup and brussels sprouts (exactly what i was craving), and he got the new york strip. everything was cooked perfectly and so delicious. the best part--they surprised us with a free dessert for our anniversary . also, they served both sparkling and still water, and if you know me, you know i'm obsessed with club soda, so that was a win. overall, minus the weird double id check, it was such a special and memorable dinner. highly recommend for a nice night out.

Is the dress attire enforced? Not sure I can get my husband in slacks in 90 degree weather.

They have a sign in the door about the attire, but I went tonight and saw people in both shorts and a T-shirt. How about a nice polo and some golf shorts?

That said, Pueblo Viejo Grill was legitimately solid. I love crispy chicken tacos, and they are harder to get right than you would think. A lot of places land squarely in the mediocre zone. These were not that. Pueblo's version was quite good and easily lands in the top half of my personal crispy chicken taco rankings. Service was pretty good, especially considering the place was packed on a Friday night. You could tell they were hustling. What really stood out is that it is family owned and operated. I had the chance to meet the owners and they were genuinely very nice people, which always adds something to the experience. Given the setting, surrounded by new construction and not a ton of competition, this place could probably get by with less effort. But they do not. They deliver a solid meal and a good experience. Overall, a great choice for dinner. Just bring a little patience when they are busy. Solid 4 to 4.5 stars.

That was served with a dab of guacamole and sour cream. Rice and beans were good, not outstanding. What impressed me was their large selection of margaritas.
