If you've not been, make a rest reservation, bring your credit card, and enjoy. LOCATION: The Palm Desert location is excellent, lot of parking and so easy to find just off the 111. Just take time can choose the right driveway... FACILITY: Grand, classy, and perfect.... buildout is similar to other Ruth Chris locations I have visited. MENU: Well if it is on here, I will be good. This is not urban food, it is a refined menu perfected over the decades. FOOD PREP: Very good, not super fancy but the way they do it, and yes, the plates are very very hot. FOOD QUALITY: Ordered a Prime Cowboy steak, MR seared with a little butter on top.. it was excellent.. huge. My wife and I shared and thankfully they were down with sharing knowing their portion as gigantic. We maybe ate 1/2 of it and took home leftovers. LIBATIONS: Great drinks, some fancy some straight up simple. Nothing is inexpensive but very good. Wow!!! We travel every year with another family to celebrate our kids summer birthdays, so there are eight of us! We had dinner there last night and it was everything and more! I had to give this restaurant a 5 star because it met all my expectations , for me, of a great meal and a great dining experience. The service was top notch thanks to Kohl' and Julio. This was my daughter's birthday so I called ahead of time for my reservation . We were given a booth with a special menu with my daughter's name printed on the menu ! This personal touch was above and beyond , we ordered the prix fixe meal salad, entree and dessert for $60....quite a bargain for this type of steakhouse. My daughter and upgraded to the 16 oz ribeye and my wife has the Chilean sea bass. The salad was huge and so were the fish and ribeyes. The prix fixe entrees come with a side so we opted for garlic mash potatoes and Brussels sprouts. For dessert my daughter receive a chocolate cheesecake and I had the classic cheesecake . The venue is well kept, decor is beautiful and very clean. If this is for date night or even a meeting, you will be very pleased. We had the Ruth's 3 Course for $60. It's a limited-time seasonal prix fixe dining promotion featuring a starter, entrée, personal side, and dessert. It's a good portion of food, and in my opinion, worth the money. Very delicious, well seasoned and beautifully presented. We had fresh made, warm bread with butter, a Caesar Salad (yum yum), I could have ended with that but that was just the starter! The entree I chose was a 6 oz Filet with 3 Jumbo Shrimps. That Steaks served on a 500-degree sizzling plate is no joke! The side was Garlic Mashed Potatoes, all of which were exceptionally flavorful. For dessert Classic Cheesecake with fresh berries. It wasn't overly sweet, very well prepared. The only "mehh" I had was the Creamed Spinach. I had never been to a Ruth's Chris before so this was my first time! Kohl took care of us, he was great. We had a few appetizers. The crabcakes were okay, it comes with two. We have been coming here for past 13 years on Valentines and does not disappoint. We have a simple meal as it is our favorite. We ordered the 11 oz. Filet and au gratin potatoes. Only had to wait 5 minutes on a holiday Sunday. We started our meal with the winter special scallops which were delicious and buttery. They had a special menu of Turkey, Stuffing, mashed potatoes, cranberries et. al. It was DELICIOUS!! The Chef deserves major praise for producing a Turkey Day Dinner that was BETTER than my dear ol' Mother used to make. My husband and I went to were on a much needed mini vacation. Last time we went to Ruth Chris was in Maui 20 years ago. To our surprise there was one in Palm Springs very close to the resort we were staying in. My husband made a reservation for Friday night- the day we arrived. When we got to the restaurant the hostess sat us. Shortly after we were greeted by our last names by Melanie C., our waitress, she was amazing right off the bat. Never skipped a beat. He gave us "just the right amount" of Ruths Chris standards (without the overkill). He knew his assignment...He read our table and didn't intrude on our dining experience, while still giving the appropriate amount of service that one would expect from a high end steakhouse. One other thing to note; Kohl was personable, not robotic and simply an "order taker" like some servers that one will encounter in high-end restaurants. Has a great experience at Ruth's Chris. I ordered from the $60 3 course meal deal. That was by far the best value on anything in the menu and I would really one come back for that deal. The deal includes a choice of 3 entrees, a choice of 3 sides, a choice of an appetizer, and a choice of 2 desserts. I chose the 6oz filet with house salad with blue cheese and mashed potatoes and cheesecake. I wish the sides offered more than 3 options because neither of the 3 I was a big fan of. Regardless, it's still a great deal. When the salad came out, it was very light on the blue cheese dressing. I had to ask 2 different servers for extra and it took about 20 minutes to come out. Other than the lack of choice in sides and the long wait for dressing with a lack of dressing already, those were really the only negatives. The wait did take a little long on the entirety of the meal but I heard that's part of the experience. The steak was probably the best I've had and so flavorful. Terrible Service. Inattentive, Slow, and Disorganized Our dinner for seven took nearly three hours. While we understand a larger party may take more time, three hours for drinks, a salad course, entrées, and dessert is excessive. Two servers were assigned to our table, which should have made service smoother, but unfortunately, that wasn't the case. It took about 30 minutes just to place our order, another 20 minutes for salads to arrive, and our dirty salad plates sat untouched until entrées came roughly 45 minutes later. After finishing dinner, we waited another 20 minutes before plates were cleared and we could even order dessert. The constant waiting between courses and lack of attention made for a very disappointing experience. This was my first visit to Ruth's Chris and likely my last. read more

A girlfriend and I were out shopping and decided to stop in. She had never been to Ruth's Chris so wanted to give it a try. We go there pretty often and order every year for thanksgiving a sweet potato casserole. Its absolutely delicious and recommended to all my friends . This year I was very disappointed because the container was the same size but the amount of potatoes was about half (about 1 cm high ) on the bottom of the container and of course the price higher!! Food is great as always once you get it. Service was not good at all. Slow and not efficient. Dirty plates not cleared in a timely manner like are known for. And the service was poor. This is the second time in a row we've had issues at this location. When you're paying $750 for drinks and a meal(before tip)you deserve the best. They failed. Sunday evening out with my husband. We had received a gift card for $100, and decided to give Ruth's Chris a try. We sat in the bar area. Waited 15 minutes to be noticed by one of three employees. Ordered the $80 3-course special- salad, 6oz steak and lobster tail, plus an individual sized cheese cake. My husband had a salad and oso buco. We both had a cocktail. When dinner came my steak had 3 shrimp instead of lobster. I let the employee who brought it out that I ordered lobster. He was very kind and offered an apology, said- "shrimp is on the house", and that it would only take 10 minutes the for the lobster. I did not eat the shrimp. We waited, and were finished when our server asked how everything was- we explained that the lobster was never brought to me. He apologized and said his manager would " make it right". He brings the bill and my dinner was " discounted " $10, the difference of shrimp and lobster dinner special. I explained that not only didn't I eat the shrimp, I didn't order... I never got the lobster! He told me that that's all that they would be discounting my dinner. On our way out the employee who had brought us our food, and was going to get my lobster tail done in 10 minutes, passed by us, and I asked him if he had just forgotten to put my order in for the lobster tail to which he said no he had done it. I said oh I never got it. He offered to get it to go box for the lobster's tail. I declined. Reheating lobster tail is never good. First, and last time we will be eating at Ruth's Chris. read more
