The bacon, avocado and tomato omelet with a side of fruit and a plain bagel - YUMMM!
    Stan C.

Came at the recommendation of a local who has eaten here many times before. He did not steer us wrong! Located on a patio of a golf course, you could come just for the ambiance and the scenery even if the food disappointed and you still would be doing well. But the food did not disappoint. I ordered the bacon, avocado, and tomato omelet with a side of fruit and a plain bagel ($20 with a $2 upcharge for the bagel). The omelet was delish, the fruit fresh, and the bagel was just a plain bagel (next time I go with the rye bread). Good service and very good food with an outstanding view!

The views are wonderful but the service and food are a hit or miss. The hostess is so rude and a horrible example of what a host is and how a host should act. Our waiter however was a delight and really attentive. Food wise, the smash burger wasn't a "smash burger" but it was decent. The chips were crispy and the ranch was flavorful. The waffle fries are crunchy. But the short rib eggs benedict is horrible, the meat is dry and tasteless. The turkey club is also dry and bland, couldn't even put mayo or mustard on it.

After the round we decided to grab a bite for brunch. They had a pretty large menu for both breakfast and lunch items featuring classic breakfast items like burritos, eggs Benedict's, etc. For lunch, you'll find a good selection of sandwiches, burgers and salads. I went with the steak sandwich and waffle fries. The bread was good and fresh but the steak itself lacked flavor and the caramelized onions were the overpowering flavor. Others at the table got the breakfast burrito, which was average at best. Although the salsa they had on the side was tasty and it was needed to bring more flavor. The restaurant itself is really pretty with great views of the course and very spacious. Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a nice sunny day and the service was above average. I'd eat here again if you don't feel like going somewhere after your round but not really a spot I'd go out of my way for.

Love this place! Very popular with locals. Finally checked it out. Very modern restaurant with indoor seating, bar and outdoor patio dining. Reservations are recommended as they are busy. The view of the golf course and San Jacinto mountains are beautiful. I enjoyed the french dip and the side salad was fresh with spring greens, cucumbers, grape tomatoes and sliced radishes. I enjoyed the fresh taste of their iced tea. A friend enjoyed the Escena burger and fries. The entrance for the restaurant is off of Vista Chino and then there is a sign. We went on the weekend and there is a brunch menu with breakfast items and lunch dishes.

Great food, great service, and great outdoor area for having our pets with us. Making it a fully enjoyable experience and enjoying the views.

Great service, food and views. Our server Miguel was awesome too. We will definitely be back.

We ordered the fried chicken salad with extra onion. When the order arrived, the smell of the onion was unbearable and we asked him not even to put it on the table and we returned it. We asked for the crab and asparagus salad with extra onion on the side. The salad came with one asparagus uncooked, and the onions were disgustingly old again. They forgot the lemon dressing. This is one of our favorite restaurants, and today was a major disappointment..

Enjoyed a lovely breakfast with scenic views of the mountains! My omelette was yummy! Beautiful art installation with water and water falls. Restaurant located in a golf club. Prices were very reasonable. Got email to join there rewards program. Already got rewards with this breakfast! Definitely recommend! Parking on site.

We have come a few times over the years. We come for the view and the food is good at a reasonable price. Sadly, I had the steak sandwich and it was very fatty and the fat was hard. Kind of a bummer. But everyone else liked their food. They gave me a free birthday brownie and that was so nice. Every time we come it's feels like we're on vacation (we do not come in the summer). Until next time.

Located near a beautiful golf course overseeing the palm trees and mountains, this is what California eating looks like! The food was amazing, ask for the Escena chips! Potato chips made fresh in house! The caramelized onion burger was top tier! This place has kid friendly options! The turkey, bacon, avocado sandwich was delicious!l fresh and light, the right amount of full where you can go about your day and not want to go down for a nap. Staff was very welcoming and attentive! Huge thank you to Josh for making our experience great and even joking with the kids. Highly recommend

The view: phenomenal. The food: okay. I enjoyed my visit to Escena Grill. I stopped by at noon on a Saturday and was immediately seated. The outdoor view blew me away - I had a perfect view of the surrounding golf course and the mountains. The service was efficient, and the waiter checked in with my party frequently to make sure we were enjoying our visit. The food was just fine. It was a solid brunch but nothing too spectacular. I got the Escena Benedict with crab cakes. The English muffin was quite dry, but I did enjoy the addition of the crab cakes. The eggs were poached nicely, and I finished my entire plate. My friend who got the spinach omelet was not a fan and stated that the omelet was too dry for her liking. However, another friend ordered the breakfast sandwich and really enjoyed his meal. It seems like some dishes are definitely better than others. While the food was unspectacular, I was impressed by the peaceful ambiance of the restaurant and the beautiful views.

I call this place a little gem in the desert. Right off of vista chino you will find this beautiful restaurant with amazing views, delicious food and excellent service. I had the fish and chips and food did not disappoint. Great place to enjoy a beautiful Saturday afternoon with great friends and conversations!

Are dogs allowed on the terrace?

I've seen dogs out there. Best bet is to call and confirm with the restaurant.

Are reservations required for Sunday brunch?

Hi Stephanie! Reservations are not required, but are recommended. We open at 7am, and typically if you get here before 9am you'll beat the rush that starts around 10am. If you have a party of 6 or more I would recommend making a reservation…

    Do you serve lunch?

Hello! Thanks for your question. Yes, we serve lunch every day. Our weekend brunch menu includes just about all of the items on our regular lunch menu. Have a great day!

As you can see from my pics, the Traditional Eggs Benedict weren't quite up to par. The poached eggs were a bit under done. The hollandaise sauce was creamy but lacked the pinch of cayenne and a bit under flavored. The ham was ample but not so flavorful. There was a bed of spinach between the ham and English muffin. This was over cooked. The diced potatoes were nice and crunchy, but there wasn't any seasoning on them. On the other hand, the Breakfast Bowl was quite refreshing. My pic doesn't do justice to the freshness and variety of this bowl. The coconut milk was sweet and pared well with the fruit. The texture of the granola and coconut shaving nicely contrasted with the bananas and berries. Mixed through the coconut milk was the red quinoa which made the milk more substantial. This was a great way to eat healthy.

Golf course was closed but we were still able to see it. It's a big property. Lots to do. Do like they allow dogs since we had ours. They had multiple pools which we liked. We didn't use it but near one. Neither one looked too busy which was nice. Once we got settled into our room we went to go see Pinz and Pints since they had arcade games, including a duckpin bowling. My son was really excited about that. When we went they had a complimentary drink and candy bar. Drinks they offer are limited but still decent. We did get some food there as well. We got their nachos, Mac and cheese, and chicken tenders for my son. Both the nachos and Mac and cheese were really good. Love nachos and wanted to keep eating them. The resort fee also felt hard to justify. The included amenities did not seem to match the extra charge. The two complimentary drinks were limited to Truly canned drinks or a small pour of hard lemonade or iced tea, which felt underwhelming for a resort of this caliber. We did enjoy the range balls, but as early risers, I would have appreciated access to the spa or pool earlier in the morning. Unfortunately, the room itself left a lot to be desired. The bed sheets had what looked like an oil or grease stain, the closet door was broken, and the overall furnishings and finishes felt worn and dated rather than well maintained. This is very much a family resort, so that is worth keeping in mind if you are looking for a quiet getaway. Even at the adults-only Paloma Pool, children were jumping into the water and splashing guests' drinks while parents appeared unconcerned. That made it difficult to relax in what was supposed to be a peaceful setting. On a positive note, the entrance walkway, lobby, and open-air courtyard are beautiful and make for a strong first impression. Unfortunately, that charm does not extend to the guest rooms, which are clearly in need of a refresh.

I was a little scared when I read that most of the recent reviews were negative. I was thinking "oh no! What did I get us into." This place is a blast from the past. The decor is that of a mid century modern and is a really cozy quadrangle set up. The interior feels homey and the property is set up like an air bnb with shared amenities. They play 1950s music all day on speakers throughout the complex, it creates that vintage feel but can get repetitive after a few days. Lounge with tables, board games, travel brochures, couches, fire place, coffee and tea, and industrial kitchen for use during your stay. (Old reviews mention happy hour, breakfast, snacks, etc. these are no longer offered but why not just bring your own?) Each room has microwave and mini fridge. Outdoor gas fire pit for use. The pool is small but has a deep end 8ft which is nice. There are pool noodles and some tubes to use. The hot tub is spacious and powerful jets. We stayed in the Hawaiian surf room, loved the theme it was so cute and felt like a tropical getaway. The shower is small but functional. Good AC unit with a remote control and ceiling fan. Surfboard coffee table and wicker love seat add to the tropical feel. Overall this was a nice private getaway. You can be left alone to relax! If you need anything you can text the hotel and someone replies super quick in my experience. The hotel feels very secure with codes needed to enter the complex and security cameras at the entrance and surrounding the complex. (Probably for management to check and make sure everything is running smoothly). I would stay here again in a heartbeat and I have stayed at a few different boutique hotels in the area. This would be a top choice! Please realize this is an older complex and it does show some wear and tear but come on the building is probably 100 years old or somewhere close to that. If you are expecting a sterile, high end, resort feel for your stay this is not your place... but otherwise this is a great choice! I couldn't help but feel bad for the owners with all of the really bad reviews on here because that was truly not my experience. I left off one star because there are definitely areas of improvement that could be made but not enough to ruin my experience.

There are 10 rooms available and each one is a different theme in the 1950s. I stayed for two nights in the Crooners room and I enjoyed my stay a lot. When I arrived, Tim, the inn keeper assisted me with my room keys and showing me around the property. My room was decorated with the Rat Pack and I loved it. All rooms are a maximum of two people with a hot tub, refrigerator with water, microwave, and coffee maker, air conditioning, and DVD player. If you'd like, bring a DVD and popcorn to enjoy during your stay. The bed was pretty comfortable. There were more than enough pillows which I'm guilty of using more than one pillow while I sleep. I love how the comforter was linen on the outside, but cozy and warm on the inside. The Crooners room has two sinks, but I only used one. There is happy hour everyday at 5pm by the pool or communal area with snacks and beer or wine. During my stay there were chips and salsa and the following day was veggies with dip, with of course a drink of choice. Really nice touch added to my stay. It's been a while since I have stayed in a bed and breakfast and I love the homeyness here. Breakfast is served in the communal dining area with hand sanitizer provided. The three-course breakfast starts with a fruit smoothie, a fruit parfait and a hot breakfast. For breakfast they served blueberry pancakes with sausage and the following day it was quiche with artichoke hearts and potatoes. I loved the service here so much. You sit at a table and they serve the food to you. The pool is open 24 hours will pool floaties available to use as well. Another thing I like about this place is that because there aren't many people (max 40 people at a time) it is highly likely you will get the pool to yourself. When I checked out and left the property I told my husband I would enjoy staying here again. I really enjoyed my stay here and highly recommend you stay here too.

Great brunch spot! We were visiting from out of town and were looking for somewhere to grab brunch…read more I checked Yelp and found Wilma & Frieda's and liked the reviews I read. The location was easy to find, ample parking too. The restaurant itself is kind of small (it's kind of more like a coffeehouse with a decent-sized table-service area), but we only had to wait about 10 minutes for a table on our second visit. (Yep, we liked it enough that we went twice during our trip!) The servers and staff were friendly, attentive, and helpful. The food was hot and delicious, and the portions were generous. And there were a good variety of savory and sweet brunch items to choose from. They also serve lunch and have a bakery counter, but I didn't look too hard at those parts of the menu because I knew I wanted the short-rib scramble as soon as I saw it on the online menu, haha! And the biscuits--oh my goodness, they are so good. They taste perfectly homemade and are pillow soft yet just the right amount of crumbly without being a dried, cracking mess. Across my 2 visits, I had the short-rib scramble (yum) and the Meany (basically eggs, sausage, potatoes, and a biscuit--yum), and my daughter had the biscuits and gravy, which she said was great. I highly recommend Wilma & Frieda's and will definitely go back on future Palm Springs trips.
