Located on a patio of a golf course, you could come just for the ambiance and the scenery even if the food disappointed and you still would be doing well. But the food did not disappoint. I ordered the bacon, avocado, and tomato omelet with a side of fruit and a plain bagel ($20 with a $2 upcharge for the bagel). The views are wonderful but the service and food are a hit or miss. The hostess is so rude and a horrible example of what a host is and how a host should act. Our waiter however was a delight and really attentive. Food wise, the smash burger wasn't a "smash burger" but it was decent. The chips were crispy and the ranch was flavorful. The waffle fries are crunchy. But the short rib eggs benedict is horrible, the meat is dry and tasteless. The turkey club is also dry and bland, couldn't even put mayo or mustard on it. read more

After the round we decided to grab a bite for brunch. They had a pretty large menu for both breakfast and lunch items featuring classic breakfast items like burritos, eggs Benedict's, etc. For lunch, you'll find a good selection of sandwiches, burgers and salads. I went with the steak sandwich and waffle fries. The bread was good and fresh but the steak itself lacked flavor and the caramelized onions were the overpowering flavor. Others at the table got the breakfast burrito, which was average at best. Although the salsa they had on the side was tasty and it was needed to bring more flavor. The restaurant itself is really pretty with great views of the course and very spacious. Plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy a nice sunny day and the service was above average. I'd eat here again if you don't feel like going somewhere after your round but not really a spot I'd go out of my way for. read more

Love this place! Very popular with locals. Finally checked it out. Very modern restaurant with indoor seating, bar and outdoor patio dining. Reservations are recommended as they are busy. The view of the golf course and San Jacinto mountains are beautiful. I enjoyed the french dip and the side salad was fresh with spring greens, cucumbers, grape tomatoes and sliced radishes. Everything was wonderful, from the tablescape (love the plates, bowls and silverware) to the service and the food quality. I had a Smashburger and the Brioche bun was so delicate that it literally fell apart as I was eating it. So it was a knife and fork burger! The service was truly spectacular. The restaurant also has great views of the golf course and the mountains and you can watch the planes taking off from PSP airport. They've got great specials that include golf and a meal. The view: phenomenal. The food: okay. I enjoyed my visit to Escena Grill. I stopped by at noon on a Saturday and was immediately seated. The outdoor view blew me away - I had a perfect view of the surrounding golf course and the mountains. The service was efficient, and the waiter checked in with my party frequently to make sure we were enjoying our visit. The food was just fine. It was a solid brunch but nothing too spectacular. I got the Escena Benedict with crab cakes. The English muffin was quite dry, but I did enjoy the addition of the crab cakes. The eggs were poached nicely, and I finished my entire plate. My friend who got the spinach omelet was not a fan and stated that the omelet was too dry for her liking. However, another friend ordered the breakfast sandwich and really enjoyed his meal. It seems like some dishes are definitely better than others. While the food was unspectacular, I was impressed by the peaceful ambiance of the restaurant and the beautiful views. read more

Warning: This is a rant so don't proceed if you're looking for a regular restaurant review. I am part of a Service Dog team. I've had a Mobility Dog with me 24/7 for over a decade. Upon entering Escena a little dog began barking at my Mobility Dog distracting him from doing his job. Because someone's pet had just distracted my trained service dog I asked to be seated on the opposite side of the restaurant. I was told by the Asst. Manager (Jose) that he couldn't seat me on that side. That I had to be seated in the "Pet Area" which would have forced me into the same area as the dog that had just distracted him! I informed him that this was a violation of Federal ADA Law. He cited Health Code Regulations (Ridiculous given he referred to a "Pet Area" inside the restaurant). Finally he contacted the GM who told him that the ADA laws were "Grey" and to go ahead and seat me where I asked. Most restaurants are familiar with ADA laws regarding Service Dogs and how accommodating them is not in conflict with Health Code Regulations. To be clear the law reads "Under the ADA, State and Local governments, businesses, and non-profits that serve the public generally must allow service animals to accompany people with disabilities in all areas of the facility where the public is allowed to go." It goes on to include Hospitals and exam rooms with the exception of operating rooms, burn units, or areas where the presence of an animal would compromise a sterile environment. I think Escena management's judgement is the only grey area here. If you made it this far, thanks for letting me rant. This review is really a rant to point out the lack of common sense and judgement exercised. Because of that I had a stressful time rather than opportunity to be "normal" having brunch with friends. read more

On Saturday morning, we found that we did not have any coffee in the house so we ran over to this restaurant because it was close to our house. Last weekend was very windy so we couldn't sit outside and I imagine that that would be the best place to sit. We had lattes and since it was a weekend away, we had bloody Mary's right after lol. Both were great, as were the homemade potato chips with chipotle aioli. My friend had a beet salad, and ordered avocado on top of it. I ordered a vegetarian sandwich. It's been awhile since we've been here because food usually not good. Last night my friend from LA invited us to his little get together with some of the people that he work with. It's just as I remembered the food; which wasn't that good. They used to served hot dinner rolls. We asked for bread, the server said they have sourdough, what came out was regular toasted slices of sourdough bread which he charged $5! The food was bland and over priced! Escena Lounge and Grill is our go-to restaurant for Sunday brunch and as a place to take out-of-town visitors for a weekday lunch or dinner. Located within the Escena community as their club house restaurant, it is open to the public. The restaurant sits at the edge of their golf course where you cannot beat the magnificent views of Mount San Jacinto and the surrounding mountains. This past Saturday we arrived around 3 PM - having no trouble getting an outdoor table to enjoy the fresh air and that killer view. Unfortunately 3 PM begins their limbo period between their lunch and dinner menus, but is the beginning of their happy hour: well drinks $6 and a selection of appetizers. We were a party of three and ordered the sliders - two for $9 and an additional $3 for the third; the chicken tacos - two for $10.50 and an additional $3 for the third; and an order of fried calamari for $10.50. All three appetizers were tasty and proved to be enough to hold the three of us over until dinner. Our server was Josh who was friendly and attentive. We had ordered three drinks during the course of the meal: two vodka cranberries and one large pineapple juice. The pineapple juice was $6 which I thought was kind of pricy, but we knew the charge upfront. What was surprising was that when the bill came, we had been charged correctly $6 each for the happy hour well drinks, but there was an additional $4 tacked on for the cranberry juice! (See attached bill). Does that mean if we ordered a screwdriver there would be an additional $4 for the orange juice and an add-on charge for any mixed drink? That was disappointing. Escena is still one off our favorites and we will certainly go back. The food has always been good and the service has always been friendly. By all means check it out - if only for that view... but maybe bring your own cranberry juice ;-) read more

The views from here are just gorgeous. The remodel gave Escena a needed refresh. The menu is varied with options from a club sandwich to salads, eggs and French toast. My favorite for lunch is the club sandwich. It always seems perfectly put together with the right amounts of turkey, bacon and avocado. Service here is always friendly and attentive. read more

This place has one of the best views of Palm Springs. You have a view of the mountains, the golf course and also the planes at a distance. They use to have happy hour, I don't think they still do but when they did it was really worth it. I prefer to sit outside where it's really nice. I ordered the cauliflower pot pie which was absolutely delicious! I'm not a big meat lover so this dish is right up my alley. My husband got the rack of lamb which was fatty and undercooked. Wait staff didn't know what mint jelly was ??? Service was well below par. Our server first approached our table and words from his mouth as he greeted us were "what do you need?" An odd approach I felt, for a $28 to $42 entree-priced establishment. Then he brought us two draft beers which as he served my glass he spilled across the table. Shaky hand syndrome? Plenty of servers were present and I noticed many employees standing around not doing much to elevate diners' experience. Management needs to chime in here. Service is disappointing. read more

Getting there: To get to Escena Grill from the hwy 111 head north on N Gene Autry Trail, and you'll find Escena Grill on the left-hand side, inside the Escena Golf Club. It's super easy to find! The lot is pretty spacious so parking shouldn't be a problem. Experience: So, I had an awesome brunch experience at Escena Grill. Let me tell you, the vibes were on point! The staff were so chill and friendly, making me feel right at home. I feel like I had known our host and waiter for years. They made sure my friend and I were having a blast and took care of us like VIPs. Now, the brunch menu may be simple, but the food was pretty tasty. I went for the classic bacon, egg and toast breakfast that came with a side. I chose fruit for my side. The views from the patio were jaw-dropping!
