Mortons is one of my go to restaurants in Pittsburgh Pennsylvania. They are always accommodating and smart or intellectual about wine choices as well as food choices. We showed up around 5:45p for happy hour. There was no tables left so we waited at the entrance hoping someone will be done dining. As we waited the waitress that wasn't so friendly, stopped what she was doing (which was opening a bottle of wine for table) holding the wine bottle still in her hands to go and greet her friends which happen to be where we were. We had been waiting now for 15mins. She then knew two guys that were sitting on a table In front of us if they would mind share there table with her other two friend. They sat down and she eagerly finish pour the wine to her original guest and came over to take her friends drink order. As she can see we've been waiting before her friends even showed up. The two guest was finally down at the bar and as they got up I went over and the bartender said these seats were taken by those two gentleman. I told them that we came first, we have been waiting now 30mins to eat here. We valet our vehicle and didn't want to waste $12. Also they already have their drinks and is being served. The bartender said ok have seat we will be right with you. The waitress comes over and saw us in those seats and started to talk to the bartender. He pointed and looked in my direction so I know talking about us. Let's now talk about the food. We ordered mostly from the happy hour menu which ends at 6:30 but the hostess must be new because when I called and asked she said 7pm. Also the hostess was telling guess to go look in the bar for seating know that there's no seat as we were waiting right by the front station. Anyways , the food from the happy hour menu was actually decent and pricing was decent too! I ordered the lobster bisque not on the hh menu but it went so well with their complicate onion bread! The bread was very delicious! It was pretty ridiculous how they present the bisque. They brought out a bowl with one little piece of lobster and some cream sauce and then poured the bisque over it! I literally laughed because the lobster was sooooooo small and it seem like they were proud of it. I couldn't believe for $17 you think they would give you a little more like one extra piece to make two piece! Do even present it like that lol that's ridiculous. They also forgot my spoon when they brought it out and I had to wait a bit to get one. Everything else we order ( filet mignon sandwiches , fried chicken sliders, mini crab cakes and their shrimp Louie wedge bites) was good. Crab cake was delicious had tons of crab and came in a pair. It was also served over this bed of greens which was drizzled with olive oil. My husband said instead of getting chicken sandwiches he should have got two of the filet mignon sandwiches. The fillet mignon is on sandwiches were good, but the bun was a little stale. It cooked, medium rare, and so there was lots of red that you could see, but my husband was OK with and he just took off these buns and ate the mignon. There was four sliders, but once he took off the buns, it pretty much was one fillet, which is a pretty good deal. The shrimp Louie wedge bites were good but they used half of a shrimp on each wedge not even a whole shrimp. But it was good and refreshing. Although everything happened the bartender was really friendly and tried to make our night better. I really loved the menu here and the food was really good during happy hour but I don't think I will be recommending this to my friends or family here and we probably wont be back. I popped in one evening for a glass of wine at the bar and ended up getting decent service and seeing good food, so I stayed for some small bites. I sat at the bar on a weeknight and they were about half full. I tried their onion rings for my appetizer and they were really good, nicely battered, and came with a tasty sauce. Next up was to get their chop salad and it was decent, but it had a little too much wilted lettuce in it. The wine list is pretty decent... Always visit Morton's when I'm on the road and there's one in town. First time visiting the Pittsburgh location and as usual, Morton's didn't disappoint. My only gripe was sitting by the door, which would get cold when the door opened. They were so busy and it happened a lot, but I get it. I grabbed the last reservation and was by myself. My server Shawn, was top notch! Great personality, very knowledgeable and didn't skip a beat! This location seemed like it has its share of regulars, but Shawn treated me like I've been there many times. Several other staff members stopped by and were very friendly and maintained Morton's excellence service. My meal rarely changes, although I grabbed the crab cake this time and it didn't disappoint. Not a fan of the Mayo sauce, but I don't like Mayo so no issues. My filet was cooked to perfection and The Troy, excellent. Made for a nice companion with the steak. The Harrison, a light Pinot noir from the west coast, was a great compliment to the steak. Of course I had to have the legendary Morton's chocolate cake. If you've had it before, you'll know exactly why!!! Finished with an espresso and Bailey's on the rocks. As usual, Morton's scores a touchdown for the victory! read more

Can only speak to the food and drink that I enjoyed during their happy hour, or power hour I believe they call it. The crabcakes, and onion rings, which were both delicious and quite a value during happy hour. Also, it's nice that their wines during happy hour are offered in two different sizes. Cooked to perfection with olives, capers, artichoke, roasted cherry tomatoes in a pesto sauce with a side of broccolini. It may actually be the best salmon dish I've had in the city. Last night my wife and I dined at the Morton's in Pittsburgh. There is a reason we continue to come back time and time again, consistency. We started at the bar where Paul took great care of us. We then were seated in a booth as I requested when I called and made the reservation. We were served by RJ and Shawn two long time staples of the restaurant 20 years plus. Perfectly paced meal with impeccable table maintenance. Meals were cooked to perfection. Great music and lighting in the dining room for a romantic evening. When you run a restaurant like myself, you become quite the critic and all I can say is Lisa the General Manager runs a great operation. Happy Thanksgiving! My family enjoyed a lovely Thanksgiving dinner at the Morton's Way! Wow, some of us enjoyed the Thanksgiving menu that they offered myself and my husband and my aunt enjoyed the fruits of the labor that Morton has to offer. I had a beautifully cooked, medium, rare prime rib bone in with truffle butter and a side of the au gratin potatoes, and it was all cooked perfectly and absolutely delicious. My husband had the filet mignon with the trouble, butter and the green beans, which were absolutely delicious with an Asian Fusion style green bean, which was so amazing. Their portions are absolutely plenty to share, but definitely can eat on your own! They accommodated my son who is 60 months old by providing mac & cheese, which was actually extremely delicious! The service was incredible as there was always someone there filling your wine or asking if the food was delicious. Im really sad writing this review. I had gone to Morton's with my family to celebrate my birthday during Pittsburgh's Restaurant Week. The last time I was at Morton's I was younger & they had not renovated the restaurant. It was very loud & noisy, so much so you could barely hear the background music playing & you had to lean really close to the person next to you to have a conversation. We order off of the Restaurant Week Menu & I was very disappointed with our food. It's like they didn't even try. I had ordered their 6 oz filet minion & was shocked when I tasted it to find out it tasted like a normal regular steak. Nothing special. Morton's is a Steakhouse known for having amazing steak but ours were far from amazing. They gave you the smallest portion for your appetizer (Caesar salad that I ate the whole thing in 2 bites), the steak I ordered along with garlic green beans. They found the smallest plate and put both of them on it. It was very, pardon my language, half-assed. I know it's Restaurant Week but that doesn't mean you can slack off on the quality of the food. The desert was the same, it's like the slapped the desert in the plate & called it a day. No creativity, no care into the dish, just "here you go." I ordered pot de crème & it was the same size as my 2 bite Caesar Salad. I was highly disappointed. The only saving grace of the evening was our waitress Rose, she was friendly & attentive! Hubby and I had date night here and wanted it to be memorable since we haven't really had the chance since COVID. SERVICE (5/5) - From the time we were seated up until we left, the service was wonderful. The staff were all very attentive, conscientious about social distancing and wearing their masks. FOOD (5/5) - MORTON'S Chopped Salad: This was so refreshing and a nice start to our rather large and decadent entree. My husband does NOT like onions or mustard and he was pleasantly surprised by this salad, which had both small red onions and a dijon vinaigrette. - ONION BREAD (3/5): This really did nothing for us, but it was complimentary. As mentioned above, we aren't huge onion fans and this has a very heavy onion essence. It was served fresh and warm, which was a nice touch. - BONE IN RIBEYE (6/5): We both got the 22 oz bone in ribeyes and I got mine with the Black Truffle butter. There was so much butter, that it was enough to give my husband a half of it and cover his steak too! It was grilled beautifully and cooked to medium, perfectly seasoned and decadent. Would recommend this to anyone dining here and would get it again time and again - LOBSTER TAIL (5/5): We shared a side of the lobster tail, which was paired with melted butter and lemon. Cooked perfectly and a really nice complement to the steak - GIANT ASPARAGUS: Loved how they were cooked, but didn't care for the balsamic glaze on top. - JUMBO BAKED POTATO: Standard baked potato with all the fixings on the side. I decided to re-read my review, and all the reviews from the past year. There were 35 reviews, and 10 were 3-stars or worse. That is a terrible percentage, and illustrates systemic problems at this particular Morton's. There were approximately 130 other reviews going from 2 years ago all the way back to 2008! A cursory look at those reviews showed the percentage of 3-star reviews was about the same. The day after my Thanksgiving debacle, the General Manager called - she had left the restaurant before my Uncle and I ate. So my dealings were with an Associate Manager. The General Manager was extremely apologetic, and promised that, if I would give Morton's another try in the future, my meal would be completely comped. After reading all the reviews for the past year, I don't believe that I will take her up on her offer. I have eaten my last meal at the Morton's in Pittsburgh. read more

We went on Christmas evening after the football game. We started at the bar as we were early for our reservation. We were immediately greeted and served! Our server was attentive and knowledgeable!
