Nothing worse than finding out from a regular customer who happily shown the menu to me a few seats down that the staff should of done. Seriously delicious steaks. The best! Service was inconsistent. They were not attentive as they should be considering the price of the food (my brother's water glass was empty for too long), but one of the waitresses carefully scooped all of the bread crumbs off our table in between courses. The bread was quite good. Interesting presentation of food, where they showed all of the different (raw) cuts of meat and vegetables, after which menus were provided. Delicious french onion soup, with a pretty substantial portion. My family ordered a couple of single-cut filet mignons, a double-cut, and a prime rib bone-in? The meat is so tender and just perfect. The filet didn't look particularly large but it was quite filling in the end, and the bone-in cut was huge. The atmosphere was much louder than I would have expected. Lots of family birthday dinners. We were just thrown out of Morton's in Reston Town Center. It's Thanksgiving. I had trouble understanding our waiter during the whole meal due to his thick foreign accent, but as soon as I took the last gulp of my last drink, he came over and said something about people waiting and asked us to leave. We were a party of 4 adults, our bill came to about $400 inclusive of tip, and there were 3 empty tables, including 2 that could seat 4 and 1 that could seat about 10 right next to us. There were other empty tables scattered throughout the dining room. We were not drunk or poorly behaved. We occupied our table for about an hour and 45 minutes. On our way out, we passed a family of 4 with young children who were seated just before us, and they looked similarly finished too. Their kids were very well behaved, but they weren't being rushed out. We did not see the mysterious hoard of hungry people near the hostesses' stand or outside. The special Thanksgiving fixed price 3-course dinner was ok, just ok, but worth the price paid. I feel that I tipped well considering it's a holiday but also considering the waiter came to our table in the middle of the meal with a well-worn pamphlet, interrupted our conversation in mid-sentence and tried to get us to sign up for a loyalty card (we didn't). Still a really good restaurant. Petite filet is buttery and melt in your mouth. I really like the hot chocolate cake over the chocolate soufflé now. The au gratin potatoes are good, but the same sauce is used for mac and cheese, and I think the mac and cheese would have been better - my friend LOVES their mac and cheese and raves about it all the time. Their current seasonal special are the wild mushrooms side dish - VERY GOOD must order that! I wish yelp would allow us to rate restaurants individually based on food, noise level, service, along with a total star rating. unfortunately I am going to need to start rating restaurants noise level because with 3 people at a booth on a busy Thursday night, the decibel level was HIGH and it was extremely hard to carry a conversation. That being said, I've worn hearing aids since I was 3, but my mom is losing her hearing slowly with age. This is a key factor in where we dine now so we probably will not be back on a busy noisy night. My grandfather also has lost his hearing and my husband too... I don't know how people get business deals done in such a loud restaurant. Food is great. Service is great. Too loud on busy nights. Normally my first choice with steak is the bone in rib eye, however the size of the ribeye on Morton's menu frightened me. Instead, I opted for the mixed grill of filet (6 oz), shrimp and bacon wrapped scallops. I must admit that Morton's filet is the best I have ever tasted. Some how they have managed to trap the flavor and maintain its moisture. The shrimp were amazingly tasty with a butter and garlic sauce that completed its delicate flavor. The bacon wrapped scallops lived up to my expectations and were cooked to perfection, not over done in the hockey puck style but perfectly grilled, tender and tasty. The apricot chutney is kinda unnecessary but never the less a yummy spicy compliment. My husband enjoyed his bone in rib eye, cooked to his version of perfection (and mine) rare and juicy. Once again Morton's stepped up and reminded me why we gladly pay the price for perfection. On a less positive note, being from California we were determined to try a locally grown and produced Cabernet, Boxwood. The price was $68.00 a bottle. Save your money and go with something else. The only virginia made red wine on the menu was a little disappointing. Rather harsh with a not very smooth finish. Don't claim to be an expert, but I didn't like it. There must be a reason California wines are so popular. Our waiter, Jeff was a real thoughtful and competent. He was Johnny on the spot. Overall our experience was superior. read more

I am giving this place a 5 star because of the food and service! I forgot my phone at home last night so consider this review from October 5, 2014!!! We walked in and Brooke our Hostess was in a great attitude and you can really see her Enthusiasm. We sat on our table and the table setting was phenomenal, I wanted to take picture but I was shy. Haha! Anyhow, our Server Eddie was very professional and polite, he asked us right away if there is a special occasion and we told him it was our 2nd year wedding anniversary. He said he'd be back with a special menu, it was sweet of him to give us Anniversary Menu! Bottom line is, Brooke and Eddie took good care of us. This is my 2nd time to Morton's. My first visit to Morton's in Tysons Corner was about 10 years ago, I was not treated properly and never thought of checking out another Morton's again until last week. We had an early reservation, the service was good until they got busy, then the assistant waiter took over, he was doing a good job too. But it is not quite cool on the management to let such a service arrangement happen. Bread with onion flavor, nice touch. Chop salad, not sure what were in it, it tasted good, not memorable though. Oyster Rockefella, ok. Prime Ribeye, it was cooked just right. Will I order it again? probably not, if I do go back to Morton's. Lyonnaise Potatoes, quite tasty, but not what I expected to be. Sauteed Brussels Sprouts, interestingly enough, it has the same taste as Lyonnaise Potatoes. It seemed to me that they use the same fried/baked onions for both Lyonnaise and Brushells Sprouts, and maybe the same onion on the bread too. Too bad. Cream Corn with bacon. I did enjoy it. My dessert was Cream Brulee. It's ok. kind of airy. Over all, it was a good dinner, but Morton's did not wow me, nor did they mess up my dinner as they did before. read more

We went to Morton's in Reston for the first time in 11 years last night. The center-cut filets were still very very good. Add sauce Bernaise (which is oddly not on the menu?) to make it better. The creamed spinach is still fantastic. The sauteed mushrooms might be the best side. Skip most of the desserts, though the plain cheesecake is still superb. Service isn't what it used to be, though it's still far superior to most "normal" restaurants in the area. Bottom line: it's still fantastic meat, in an exclusive-feeling ambiance, and worth the high prices. read more

We went to the bar after a movie to have a quick bite. We ordered a cut of New York to share at the bar including our drinks. The steak came very cold. I like rare steak but this was much icier than I would have liked. They were very kind and sent it back for a re-fire. I swear to god, it was just as ice old in the center when they brought it back out. I reluctantly said something again. They agreed it was as inedible and were gracious. We settled the bill and left. Then we were chased down the street by a an employee of the restaurant claiming we didn't pay our $38 bar tab. I don't understand how you claim to be a high end steak house and don't properly end a patron's meal without having to chase him down the street. Oh, and we are "Landry's Club Members" with at least $50 in rewards, that we didn't even use that would have paid for this train wreck of a mean in a and of itself, but that wasn't enough for this staff. Just go to Barcelona. We've been there countless times and never once been chased out on the street claiming we didn't pay our tab. This is why Morton's is a sham. I don't usually do this but I will say the staff is great but the food is not. Got a lobster bisque soup and there was to much sherry. The cream of spinach was not the best. Me and my cousin both ordered the Waygu New York strip medium rare. His came out rare and mine came out blue rare. But that was fine until we ran into tough parts of gristle which totally ruined the steak. Wich tells me if anything it was a very cheap peice food waygu ( if it was ) other than that the lobster Mac and cheese and twice baked potatoes was good. The best experience was walking through the door and being greeted by the host. I did not have a reservation, but I was graciously received and quickly seated. Two stars for that! Everything went downhill from there. I ordered a $30 glass of wine. It was marginal at best. Then I ordered Morton's "signature" Burger. Sadly, it was a huge disappointment. The tomatoes were soggy and the burger was over salted. The fries that accompanied the burger were nothing to write home about either. Some would argue that I should have ordered a steak. Had a horrible experience there last Saturday night entertaining clients. Absolutely no customer service certainly not the world class dining experience I usually expect at Mortons. We sent some of the food back. We were not waited on we had to wait forever for our dinner and dessert. Then the waiter behind helping another couple was screaming the entire time to be heard over his mask. Went to see the manager on Sunday who was aware of the problem and told me it would be handled. No call from them. Called them back today general manager says sorry nothing she can do. Wow. I had to apologize to my client several times for bringing them there. Very very disappointed. What. A. Disappointment. My family and I used to come here for special occasions.. so when my husband and I had something to celebrate, my family decided to go to Morton's. The four of us had a reservation. We were seated promptly and greeted by our waiter, Fatima. To start, my father had to ask for olives with his martini 3 different times. The drinks took 15 mins. It was like pulling teeth to order a salad. We ordered a bottle of wine and the cork was broken. The appetizers (shrimp Alexander) was cold and soggy, and not even close to what it once was! The entrees, although they took their time, were delicious... now for the good part. We asked for the check, literally 6 things were incorrect, and to make things better, our server took her time fixing them. One of her responses for being charged 3 extra glasses of wine that we did not order was "oh well we were out of the one you asked for so I decided to bring this one instead.. it's more expensive but if that's a problem I can take the extra dollars off". I'm sorry... what. The cherry on top was that after all of this, no manager came by to check in. You would think for a $700 dinner that the service would be spot on. First visit to Morton's Reston Va location on Valentine's Day. We were seated at exactly the time reserved, wait staff was helpful and personable. Huge wine selection and excellent drinks from the bar. The complimentary bread tasted as though it had come out of the oven just seconds before being served. Bacon wrapped scallop appetizer was excellent, salads were fresh and delicious, steaks ( filet ) were cooked exactly as they were ordered, had great flavor and were tender enough to be fork cut if you were so inclined, side dishes were delicious as well. No room left to sample desert though. Pricey but to be expected at a high end steak house, well worth the money in my opinion. Best local dinner date my wife and I have had in years! read more
