This is my first (and perhaps only) yelp review ever. Truly one of the most disappointing experiences I've ever had in a restaurant. I set out to order a NY Strip, was upsold to a porterhouse. We were seated near the kitchen so I could see the cooks plating everything. It appeared as though they dropped our asparagus, rinsed it off and put it back on the grill for a minute and re-plated it. I ordered the Porterhouse medium, it came out well done (charred and inedible). The server and manager were attentive in getting me a new steak (hence 2 stars) but the steak still came out flavorless and tough. Just a supremely disappointing way to spend $225 on a Valentine's Day dinner. We were going to go to Clawson steakhouse where we've never had a bad meal. So, Morton has always been our go to place to celebrate special occasions. Have been going to the Troy location for 30 yrs. Saturday night we went again and Im thinking maybe for the last time. One of my wife's favorites it the tuna poke app. She only takes a bite and then requests a box for the rest, as she likes to finish it the next day for lunch. When she asked to have it boxed, our server, Johnathon complied and offered to put it in the fridge till we were ready to go. Nice touch! One of my favorites is French Onion soup and I really fancy the Laionaise potatoes. The soup was close to uneatable with no flavor and the cheese on top was sub par. When my potatoes arrived they were unrecognizable. Huge chunks of cubed potatoes that were obviously deep fried and didnt even come close to what I have been served here many times before. Wifes sea bass was good as was my ribeye. Again we asked to have the left overs boxed and not to forget the tuna poke in the fridge. John came back with the bill and the boxed items in a nice bag. We paid the bill and headed home. The topper was...the poke was not in the bag. John had forgot to put it in. So after a 300$, after tip, bill I looked back at what I received for my money. Shitty soup, crapped up potatoes and a 17$ appetizer that never made it home. You think Im in a hurry to return? I think Ill just take my money to Ruths Chris. read more

Came in on Thanksgiving with a 530 reservation. We were an hour early so sat at the bar. The bar was roughly half full and it took about 30-40 min for the bartender to ask us what we wanted to drink. We asked about the happy hour specials and got pushback from the bartender saying it's the same drinks but we have it and then charged us for the full price on our drinks! We then decided to eat at the bar because we were going to have the same service at the bar tops anyways. It took 3 asks for bread about 35 min later. I ordered a 12 oz filet and it was unevenly cooked. I ordered medium rare and only a few spots were cooked enough. The rest was very rare. I would give the steak a 5/10 which is not good for prime steakhouse. Eventually the service did get better as the bartender received some help from some staff. It took 3.5 hours to eat and was not an enjoyable experience. The best bright spot was the hostess who was great taking care of us and had an incredible control on everyone and the phones. She seemed to be doing it all. Overall, very disappointing. read more

Party of Six. The food was extraordinarily flavorful. The wait staff is incredible. Our table was greeted promptly and continually. Cajun ribeye, the lobster tails, all delicious. Our family always has a go-to restaurant. Morton's is it. Delicious meal, great ambiance. Highly recommend Morton's. It's definitely a cut above the rest. read more

This was our first time dinning at the restaurants. We expected the cost was going to be higher due to the quality of food that was being served. We had a party of five and the service was ok. For the price we paid $$$$, I would expect top notch service and the food to be prepared exceptional. We had two steaks that were not prepared as we requested which had to be sent back to cook longer. One guest asked for his steak to be prepared well well done and it came out medium-well and another guest asked for his steak to be prepared medium-well and it was prepared rare. Our party was not able to dine and enjoy our dinner at the same time. We received no apology from management for this huge inconvenience. Things to remember for future dinning! read more

Came here last night for troys restaurant week and couldn't be more impressed with this place! I've been to many upscale steakhouses but I'm going to have to say that Morton's is my new favorite! The ambiance was perfect, food was luscious, and service was great! Our waiter, victor was awesome. He paired our meals with perfect wines and was fun to chat with. The food was great! The onion roll they serve is indeed addictive but nothing was better than their tuna tower! It had mango, avocado, jalapeño, and tuna along with something crunchy as the base. Not sure what it was. It was rather spicy so bare that in mind if you're not into spicy things. We both ordered the jumbo shrimp stuffed with crab. You get five perfectly stuffed enormous shrimps generously stuffed with a crab cake like filling and a side of a creamy pasta that is to die for! As a side, I got the creamed corn. Let me just say I could have honestly ate the corn alone as a meal and would have been perfectly content! Amazing! And lastly, dessert! I ordered the chocolate mousse and he got the keylime cheesecake! Both of which were amazing. It had a layer of keylime curd between the crust and cheesecake and had a great flavor. All of that for $40 a person! It was such an awesome deal! As you can see, one word I keep using to describe everything is amazing - it was just that! Really? I'm the first Yelper to review MORTON'S STEAKHOUSE? Wow. Well, we have always wanted to try Morton's, and since we live practically within spitting distance, now was the time (before we get relocated who knows where). We also wanted to compare it to The Capital Grille, another local steakhouse, which we visited last year about this time (http://www.yelp.com/biz/the-capital-grille-troy#hrid:cBC6JJaTq4GHy8fgbX-19g). The result? It was close, but I would give the slight edge to The Capital Grille. But only because of a few microscopic things (okay, maybe more than microscopic). Read on. The complimentary valet parking was nice, quick, and easy. We were early for our reservation but they seated us immediately (although they did ask if we wanted to start with a drink at the bar--but we were there early enough that there were plenty of tables ready). The real test for me, however, was going to be when we showed our waiter the coupon we had--a special three course for $99 deal. Some waiters will quietly scoff at you or treat you a little differently when they realize you're a "discount" customer, but not here. Not with Jeff. Jeff was WONDERFUL. He joked with us, said we were getting a great deal, and then still proceeded to give us the "real menu" spiel...which was a good thing for him because of course we each decided to upgrade our entree selection. The drink list on the table also suckered me in with a Heavenly Strawberry Mint Margarita. (I would skip it if I were you--it just wasn't worth the money.) The service was impeccable--drinks were kept filled, plates were whisked away, and crumbs were brushed off the table with regularity. The courses came out at decent intervals, although I would have preferred to get our seafood sides (technically part of our second course, but actually appetizers from the "real" menu) ahead of time instead of on our dinner plates, if only to space out the food a bit more. But hubby's crab cake was, according to him, the best he's ever had--and my bacon-wrapped scallops were quite tasty, too. Our steaks--my medium rare double filet and his rare ribeye--were both cooked to perfection, and I especially loved my Bearnaise side, although it did seem to cool a bit quickly for my liking (which means it didn't run smoothly out of the small silver serving boat). The portions were, of course, HUGE. Enough for a family of four, honestly. The steamed broccoli side was two huge heads. I'm not a huge broccoli fan, but it was cooked well, albeit not seasoned enough for me (more salt and pepper would have been great) but the hollandaise was a nice addition. And the hashbrowns (which came recommended to me by a friend) looked amazing--especially with the tableside addition of butter, sour cream, and bacon--except that either the potatoes weren't hot and/or the butter was too cold, so that the butter didn't melt AT ALL on the hashbrowns, which I think was a big loss. They were still yummy, but would have definitely benefited from some melted butter. For dessert, I opted for the Hot Chocolate Cake (think lava cake) and oh wow, was it decadent. There was no way I could even think about finishing it, so hubby helped me after he finished his Creme Brulee. From start to finish the food was very good and the service was incomparable...it's just the little missteps here and there (the timing or plating of the one course, lukewarm hashbrowns and/or cold butter) that are bringing down the rating. (Honestly, had we not been to The Capital Grille and had a perfect meal, I probably would have rated this experience as five stars.) And we were almost rubbing elbows with a senator (not to be named, although we did see his personal wine locker) seated behind us. Let's just say we got to see how REALLY important people are treated... and honestly, other than a bit more chit chat with the employees and attention from the woman in charge of [at least] the wine lockers) we were treated the exact same way. I think that says something about the quality of service. Lastly, I know steak places are mostly all like this, but give me a little less food at a little less price and I would be so much happier. I feel bad if I don't eat everything as it's served (because you KNOW it won't be nearly as good warmed up at home) but it is just SO much food--even with just our three courses--that it almost seems a waste. But we're glad we went, and now we just have to complete the trifecta with a meal at Ruth's Chris. Maybe we'll run into a governor or the president. read more

My family and I were very disappointed by Morton's. Our party of 4 waited over an hour for entrees while other parties seated after us got their entrees right away. One of the steaks we ordered that was supposed to be cooked medium came out raw in the center and had to be sent back. The manager was apologetic and took that steak off the bill, but for all the hassle and money spent on our meal, you're better off going to Ruth's Chris for a high quality steak. read more

I've heard mixed reviews about this restaurant but I made a reservation for my dad's birthday for 4 of us and we had a wonderful time. We were one of only 3 tables though so I'm not sure if we were getting such great service because of how slow it was or if this is how they always are. Our server was extremely attentive and knowledgeable about the menu. He answered all our questions efficiently and didn't make us feel like we were bothering him with all our questions :) Anyway they start off the meal with freshly baked onion bread and butter. It is crack!!! So fluffy and delicious. My dad got a really good salad I'm not sure what it's called but it had blue cheese,eggs, bacon, etc. Highly recommend that. My husband got a beet and goat cheese salad which was also great. My dad ordered the bone in ribeye (22 oz., $55) he loved it. My mom ordered the salmon ($28) which she loved also. My husband and I both got ribeyes (16 oz., $49) they were cooked perfectly and very tender. For the sides we shared parmesan truffle fries (good but left a funny taste in your mouth), bacon and onion mac and cheese (creamy and delicious), Brussels sprouts (cooked very nicely) and wild mushrooms (delicious variety of mushrooms and parmesan). They also gave my dad a free soufle for his birthday and took a really nice group photo of us that they printed and framed for us. With 3 glasses of wine we spent a little more than $300 with tip and it was a great experience. I'd highly recommend it for a nice or romantic night out. I took away one star because I feel like the wine is extremely overpriced.. $13 for a house cabarnet.. but still a great experience nonetheless :) read more

Took my wife to Morton's Steakhouse last Friday for our 15th anniversary. Made a reservation easy as could be, and when i put 15 year anniversary, we had a special menu printed out for us. Awesome detail. We both ordered the surf and turf special, I got the filet and scallops and she got the filet and lobster. The good was amazing. We also had dessert, the bread pudding and the chocolate lava cake. Both were mouth watering goodness. Highly recommend this place for your special night out! read more

Keeping in mind that I have worked in the service industry, specifically in fine dining/prime steakhouse, these are my thoughts on my first exp at the Troy Morton's. Ambiance & space is beautiful, love the contrast of dimly lit dining room and brighter bar area with all of the windows. Upon walking in, hostess was there to greet us warmly & took us to a plush booth. I appreciated that she pulled the table out entirely for us to get seated rather than scooching our asses in as we do elsewhere. I found it strange that they didn't have a listed beer menu at all-- our server had to read what was available off of a sheet in his book. Service: I never caught my server's name but he was wonderful. Very friendly & easygoing. He came by just enough to consistently check on us but not enough to be overbearing; he read the table well. When our friend arrived, he offered & without hesitation brought over a 2nd fresh baked loaf of that YUMMY onion bread. The dough in the middle was literally still "baking" on our table, it was steaming & so tasty. I had to seriously fight myself to not keep eating it for fear of getting full on it. Alas, wish I would've just eaten the whole loaf then bc unfortunately, that was the highlight of the food during my meal. (Also found out they do not make it in-house.) Our waters & drinks were always refilled & we received drinks promptly. Found it a little strange that there was no butter knife. The only mishap of timing was that he brought out our appetizer & another server dropped off soups as we barely started on 1st course. But our server did acknowledge and apologize for the timing of the courses which went a long way, he clearly cared about the details. Now to the meat of this review, pun intended-- the food. Big sigh. We ordered the tuna tower appetizer ($20). It had a layer of something crunchy but flavorless on the bottom, then a layer of chopped mango, then a layer of chopped avocado, then the tuna on top. The portion of the tuna was a little unbelievable for a $20 app. Not to mention how finely diced everything was, especially the tuna. Really, mini diced. I think the combination of their ingredients work but that dish fell flat on its execution. Bc everything was so finely diced and under-seasoned, the mouthfeel & texture was off & not much would stick, so it was just tiny pieces crumbling everywhere. It was slightly dry; I think some (more?) sauce or emulsion would have gone a long way. There was a drizzle of spicy sauces on the plate but it wasn't enough. Then, I ordered a French Onion soup ($14). Firstly, $14 for a crock of french onion is a little much. That's an issue this franchise may not be responsible for but I still have to note. So naturally, it sets up a high expectation. I am a French onion soup FANATIC. This one had quite a lot of melty onion to broth ratio (fine by me) and the onions were sweet but the broth was very lacking. Watery, thin, light in color & flavor, not very savory, no balance. So, the price point on this was an extra slap. We split a boneless ribeye w black truffle butter. I saw the butter with my eyes but couldn't taste even a hint of truffle, maybe due to the v heavy char on the steak. I had some burnt spots. It was cooked perfectly to medium & the steak tasted prime grade delicious otherwise. Friend got a filet done medium & it came out well done. We ordered the au gratin, which was indulgently delicious as it should be, and the sauteed spinach and mushrooms that were ok ($13) as our sides. They were on the smaller side of family style portions. I know fine steakhouses who have bigger portions with more oomph in the dishes for $6-9. I ate the leftovers for lunch and felt exactly the same. As good as the bread was fresh, once it cooled down, it was average. Service is excellent, their menu looks fantastic but their delivery & execution is lacking, and even more considering their price point. A group of 6 dined at Arnie Morton's in Troy, MI. The food was good, the menu was a lil pretentious as there are no prices for any of the food items. Besides the cold truffle fries a pretty decent meal. HOLD THE PHONE! When receiving the leftovers in the doggie bags. The waitress was placing the bag on the floor by each customer to take upon leaving. I asked is it regular practice to place the leftover bag of food on the floor. What a disgusting practice for what is a nice atmosphere. SMH why a restaurant would think that it's okay to place your bag of food on the floor. Gross. read more

Don't get me wrong, Morton's has really good meat. Very quality food and drinks. I really enjoyed our waiter who was knowledgeable about the menu and pleasant to talk to. I can't give them 5 stars because I felt a little confused. Obviously this place is better than your normal chain restaurant but there isn't a strict dress code. We came wearing dress attire but there were other people in the restaurant wearing jeans and flip flops. I would go back but probably not unless we were going with our parents. read more

Today, my wife, sister-in-law and I went to Morton's to celebrate the holiday. This was my second Morton's experience and it is was much better than my first at another location. Yes, there is an aspect of strangeness being a vegetarian at a steakhouse but it can work here. I had a very nice creamed cauliflower, black truffle and Parmesan cheese dish (listed as a main dish on a special card, which is unusual for Morton's). I also split some delicious shareable sides: beefsteak tomato salad with pungent bleu cheese, sauteed Brussels sprouts with perfectly half-caramelized onions and jumbo asparagus with balsamic reduction; I urge vegetarians who are part of a large party to order lots of these. Of course, we all started with the famous onion bread (reminiscent in flavor of a bialy). My wife and sister-in-law thought their petite steaks tender and heavenly. As good as the food was, though, the staff and atmosphere set this Morton's visit apart. Our waiter was the definition of good service: explaining things well, unobtrusive but present, friendly but not cleaving, attuned to our mood and preferences. This care and professionalism extended to every staff member we encountered (one of whom very kindly helped my wife, who has knee problems, stand up). The atmosphere is old-school classy. This is the sort of restaurant you would have imagined grown-ups going to when you were a child. It recalls the Mad Men era in a good way and it felt good to be a part of that. I recommend this Morton's location for its fine food, staff and room. read more

Morton's in downtown Chicago was horrible. I had a way better experience at the location in Troy, MI. Not sure why the food wasn't great in Illinois since that's where the headquarters is but my family and I were truly disappointed and paid too much money. I heard the Michael Jordan Steakhouse would have been better and the only reason we couldn't get in at MJ's is because the reservation times were too late into the evening. Headed to Ruth's Chris is Ann Arbor, MI. Soon. hopefully the steaks and food, overall, is better. I also was told Eddie V's is better than Morton's in Chicago. So sad that at Morton's in Chicago, they truly jip you. You can get better steak at Golden Corral smh!!! read more

Ate here during Restaurant Week during the Summer and everything was just Meh. It is an absolute nightmare trying to get in there with all of the construction going on, but I cannot fault them for that. The service was average - not horrible, but certainly not what you'd expect at a place like this. We had to ask multiple times for refills on waters when typically you'd see a dedicated person walking around with a pitcher refilling glasses as they got low. Food wise everything was kind of bland and just sub-par while the portions were a bit small which I'd be more upset about if I had paid full menu price. As for ambiance it is too dark in there. I get they are shooting for an old school vibe, but when I can barely see my wife on the opposite side of the table, that is too much. read more

I've been dining @ Mortons since the 80s and stopped after Landry s bought the chain out.They brought a number of negative changes initially to the menu both in side dish quality and eliminating their outstanding bone in Prime Rib on weekends :( And more recently what has to have been one of Americas best Lamb Chops. Now sadly history. They now have Rack of Lamb instead and while some may enjoy that it isn't something I personally crave. I stopped going to Morton's for a a few years after the Landry's takeover.However I started going back slowly due to the outstanding customer service @ my local Morton's with some highly respectable meals Some Morton's locations have gone downhill sadly. I've walked into some empty units and others that are highly thriving like the Troy location. But despite my dislike for Landry's and its owner that simply doesn't want to listen to customers and improve at least there is hope in the locations. Morton's has some great people they inherited from their original locations with some solid management and a number of excellent servers who are truly talented and special. The Troy Location in particular is one such Morton's location that truly shines. And if you order a number of what are still the strong dishes on the menu @ any well seasoned Morton's they can still hold their own compared to other fine dining/ Steakhouses nationwide.Part of the secret is there long time chefs and broiler people.They execute at a high level with above average consistency.Old school oiled excellence I drove from Detroit to dine here for a family members birthday and it was well worth the drive.To start with Matthew Parrott the GM has been in this location for sometime from what I understand and has customer service down to a science and treated us like long time family even though it was our first visit to this location. There isn't anything he wont do to make a customer happy and he stands behind guest satisfaction impressively in watching him work the room stopping at every table . So what to order here? or at most Morton's so you wont have a miss? If you love Shrimp cocktail this dish shines as an app.They are firm crisp fresh,large and served perfectly chilled with a classic cocktail sauce.The presentation is a show stopper with dry ice creating a trail of smoke as they bring it to the table.The veal chop perfectly grilled to perfection with truffle better is to die for melting over a mouthwatering chop and will convert any one uncertain if they like veal. Its a game changer The onion bread which has never been a high quality loaf of a bread is still simply divine when served piping hot.I admit to being a fan of it Bone in rib eye varies unit to unit but is usually a very dependable steak in this location and others. The night we were there Mr Parrott said if you haven't tried the special a thick heavy boneless prime NY strip steak you have to! I was skeptical but it did impress We tried it and liked it he promised a 10 and I would say was about a 9 Steamed Asparagus with hollandaise is typically done very nicely here and more recently the mashed cauliflower is simply wonderful sampled at another Morton's recently. Not sure if they have the mashed cauliflower here but a number of locations have it now One of the best kept secrets about Morton's if you sit at the bar is they have an impressive thick juicy burger that puts many others to shame Its not served in the dining room and a must have if you don't feel in the fine dining mood. This has to be one of the best Morton's in the country IMHO We were impressed by the servers here how much they took a personal genuine interest in us before and after the meal even those that didn't wait on us. Most of all the GM and his watchful eye making sure we were pleased every step of the way.We felt like VIPs I highly recommend this location.They made our occasion special and at the end of the day its as good as any Morton's gets all things considered Happy Dining and Happy New Year all read more

I've been to this location several times. Last week I went for a lobster special. I had a great dining experience. My waiter was friendly. I ordered: lobster bisque (the lobster meat was sweet and delicious but the broth lacked flavor ), while boiled lobster (although I requested a BROILED lobster. I ate it anyway and it was still tasty. Probably saved myself a few calories ), lobster mac and cheese (best I've had at a restaurant. The cheese sauce was flavorful and there were NO bread crumbs. I hate bread crumbs on Mac and cheese ), corn on the cob and boiled red skins ( my least favorite component on the plate. They needed a lot of salt and pepper ) and for dessert cheesecake (without the creme Brulee ). I absolutely love their cheesecake. Overall great dining experience and I'll be back. I like that the hostess had a record of my past visit and welcomed me back! That's the type of customer service I like. read more

Terrible. We had reservations (which we double confirmed) for 7:30 on Saturday. We arrived and were told they were running a "little" behind. When pressed, we were told 20-25 minutes and we could leave and they would call us. We left and waited. After not hearing back from them for 45 minutes, we drove back to the restaurant. They called us 55 minutes later and said we were next in line. No apologies. The manager told us "we are all human and we make mistakes" and went on to tell he he would buy us a drink next time we come back. WTF?!? When we were finally seated, they put us in the furthest table next to the kitchen. We walked out. I've been to this restaurant probably a dozen times and have watched it deteriorate, but never expected it would get to this level and still remain open. A complete disgrace. read more

I went to Mortons for my anniversary last night February 5th. Food was great, but my experience was even better, better then the food. Our server was Marcus, AKA Reggie Miller. Marcus was spot on, engaging, and willing to share his thought on the menu, which was great being it was our first time to Mortons. It is hard to find service like he provided for my wife and I. I just wanted to say thank you once again for a memorable night. It started about the meal, but ended up how he made us feel that we will remember. Morton's is one of my regular go-to steakhouses. No, not for the the steaks interestingly - but for the Chicken Christopher. This lightly breaded thin white meat chicken breast is the most tender, flavorful, and succulent piece of chicken I've had in any restaurant. I would say much better than their steaks. Have the beurre blanc in the side for a lighter option, and add some zest with a few squeezes of the lemon wedges. A go-to dish for hag doesn't disappoint. The apple bleu cheese salad was ok. Honestly nothing to write home about. I should have tried something else. The service was good, as expected from a restaurant of this caliber read more

My wife and I usually go here for a nice dinner for our wedding anniversary. We went there on our very first anniversary and felt so spoiled and impressed with the food and service that every anniversary since, if we're not going away on a trip or vacation we've gone to Morton's. We'll this year was our 15th Anniversary. Made a reservation online for Friday, 10/28 at 7:45 and noted that it was for our 15th Anniversary. Received a call at about 5 pm on Friday to confirm our reservation and was asked if we were celebrating anything special, which I said our 15th Anniversary. They asked if we'd like the anniversary menus and I said yes. We arrived at 7:40, told the hostess our name and reservation time and she asked if we were celebrating anything, which I thought was weird e cause I've already informed you twice now but again said yes our 15th Anniversary. We were told our table wasn't ready yet and that we could have a drink at the bar while we waited. Well we waited for about 10 minutes for the bartender to even acknowledge us. We finally got drinks and we're seated at our table at about 8:10. Not a word was said about our anniversary. No special menu's and no special service. I n the past it always felt like we were pampered...water glasses were constantly being refilled, crumbs were constantly wiped off the table...not this time...our waters sat empty for 10 minutes or more...The serving size of the sides definitely got smaller. Overall there was nothing that impressed us this time around. The steak was still good, but there are plenty of other places nearby that also have good steaks....we were coming here for the experience and sadly we felt like it fell way short. Had a reservation for a friends birthday, waited so long to be seated. At the beginning I thought ok it's a Saturday they're busy it's ok. The staff took too long to even get our drink orders, even longer to order the food. I felt like they absolutely did not care because they figure we're a bunch of kids and wouldn't mind. Food wasn't even that good, they messed up orders. Definitely not a good experience for such a luxurious restaurant. If you have customers who are obviously going to pay for a luxurious experience than maybe pay attention to them and make sure everything is going well. My husband and I have frequented Morton's ever since we were "my boyfriend and I." Morton's is solidified in my mind as the place where we break bread in celebration. We've celebrated each others' birthdays at Morton's; we celebrated our engagement at Morton's; we dined at Morton's after we said, "I do." And each time, we were very warmly received, well catered to and had personalized, printed menus waiting for us at our table. The manager always comes out to check on us and crack a few jokes, and then he comes back to deliver a special photo of the table in a personalized little frame. The wait staff is attentive and well-versed on the menu and off-menu selections and despite my husband's and my very particular tastes, they never steer us wrong. Really great service. But the service alone isn't my reason for giving Morton's my rarely-designated "5-star Food Snob Stamp of Approval." For that, you have to knock it out the park with service and taste, and Morton's never disappoints. Naturally, they are best known for their steaks, so there is no wrong choice in this regard, but one of my personal favorites on the menu is their braised short ribs. The meat holds together beautifully until you touch it with your fork and it all falls to pieces. So tender. So flavorful. So good. Their fish is pretty good as well, but I don't bother with fish at a steakhouse. I go straight to the ribeye. Blackened. The drinks, while pricey, are pretty great too. And though I never can, I always tell myself to try to save room for the key lime pie. 3rd best I've tasted outside of Key West and Atlanta. All-in-all, Morton's is an upscale restaurant where you can enjoy a great meal with an adult crowd and expect exemplary service. And like many upscale things, you have to pay to play. Morton's is not cheap, but if you want to do it up without feeling stuffy or pretentious, I'd definitely suggest stopping in and seeing for yourself. read more

I feel like I'm rather picky when it comes to fancy restaurants. I personal had a good experience. I do think the prices is more expensive than other fancy restaurants I've been to but I had a good with with my coworkers. read more

Such an amazing experience at Morton's! Laundrys certainly redeemed themselves with this one! We ordered the Alexander shrimp, lobster tale, filet, cream corn and potatoes. Everything was exceptional! We also had an amazing waitress, Janel! She made the experience even better! read more

Very disappointed with my overall experience at Morton's Troy. Visited this location with my girlfriend for a nice dinner and probably would have had a better experience next door at Shake Shack to be honest. I never thought I would leave a one star review but it truly was that bad. First complaint was that the waiter (don't remember his name) was very not very professional at all. We asked for his recommendation on a wine selection, although we already sort of had in mind what we wanted, and he give us a couple recommendations on the cheaper side which didn't bother me until we ordered a fairly pricey bottle and he proceeded to say "Well if I would have known a couple like you was looking to spend that kinda money" which really did not sit well with either of us, but we kinda brushed it off as we are a younger couple. We both ordered wedge salads without bacon and mine came with bacon, okay honest mistake... no problem. It wasn't until after we received our entrees that we were really disappointed. I ordered the Manhattan cut strip steak and my girlfriend ordered the filet. Mine was alright but nothing to write home about, but her's had an overwhelming flavor of thyme or some other herb. The restaurant manager Matt visited the table and asked "how did the chef do on the steaks" and I told him "to be honest her's seems to be over seasoned or something as it has a very herbal flavor that is not good at all" and he immediately got very defensive as if he didn't just ask me how they tasted. He even went as far as to say that was not possible and that it was because we were eating the steak with garlic mashed potatoes, which we hadn't even tried at that time and didn't explain why mine did not taste this way. After about 5 minutes of back and forth between him and myself (all while the waiter was standing there laughing at the situation) he told us that he would give us complimentary dessert, which we politely declined because we honestly just wanted to get out of there. I DO NOT recommend this location at all unless you want subpar steaks and insulting service. read more

Very disappointing. Positives: Caesar huge and very good, lobster bisque good, shrimp Alexander very good. Lamb rack size was exceptional. Negatives: lamb ordered med rare and served VERY RARE. Sides over salted. Service not in line with fine dining: felt like a chain restaurant. Filet disappointing. Would not come back here even if offered a free meal. Service Recovery very disappointing. If you are looking for a fine dining steak experience go across the street to Ruth's Chris, to Flemings in Birmingham or Lelli's on Opdyke. read more

Worse $70 I ever spent.... reservation was at 6pm, didn't get our table til 6:45pm.. food came out and it tasted like frozen food that was warmed up.... pork chop was burnt.... and to my knowledge all pork should be well done and waitress how we want it cooked. They flipped the burnt side on the bottom so we couldn't see. Waitress never asked if we were good or if we needed something else. First and last time here for us!!! read more

I have been to Morton's on several occasions different locations so I thought this would be a good experience, Although it was a Monday evening and the restaurant was nearly empty we were asked to wait until 100% of our guest arrived fair enough. we were seated let me make a long story short. For the amount of money I spent this night my steak, potatoes and creamed spinach were all bland! I did not like my food at all, I am not sure if it was because it was late (after 7p) but it was not to my liking and I was looking forward to enjoying a nice steak dinner and was highly disappointed. I dare not send it back because the amount of time it took for us to receive our food. The Troy Michigan location might need to hire some new chefs. On a lighter note our waiter was extremely nice. read more

I have been a fan of Morton's most of my adult life. We ordered from them on Christmas Day and everything was wonderful. However I was disappointed with my last visit (takeout) order. I ordered the exact same thing with sautéed onions. The server didn't add the onions because he said it would be an additional charge. I still wanted the onions, but to my surprise they charged $12 for a topping on a steak. I was resolved to just never return and I went down the street to a competitor restaurant. I ordered the same thing and they charged $2 for sautéed onions. After all, it is a topping not a side dish. With the pandemic affecting the economy and restaurants in particular, the true colors of the management are being revealed. But you can be short-sighted and lose a good customer over some onions. Do better. Be better. read more
