The reception and and lack of hospitality here astounds me. The barmaids are appalling, It seemed they had preconceived disdain/animosities towards me. I have been a big fan of mortons since my early 20's and this outing is a total contradiction to their signature philosophies and standards of service. The blue cheese "hand stuffed olives" were chalky, the lobster in the lobster mac gritty and flavorless, and the waitress(es) completely aloof until the check arrived in which they paired and began to consistently interrupt me, persistent with inquiry regarding my payment readiness. I wasn't accommodated whatsoever and have had classier experiences at adult cabarets. I felt completely itemized and harassed here by these two blonde women. It was so disgraceful and disgusting. I'm going to talk about the steak, here. It's a steakhouse. (If I want to get pampered I'll go to a day spa) My last 2 trips to Morton's were about 20 years ago, Northwestern Hwy. It served unquestionably, the best steak I ever had anywhere, both times. One was a filet mignon, the other was a ribeye, both ordered medium rare, both cooked just the way I like it. Absolutely an experience I never forgot. I had a hankering for a real good steak at any price so I came here. My bone in ribeye was not medium rare - it was more medium - well (lost 2 stars there). Poor quality with way too much fat and gristle (and I tolerate that in a ribeye - that's what makes them tender, but there was too much). It was not cooked right, not a particularly tender piece of meat either; no special flavor to it, and of course, way over priced. I can get better steak cooked right most of the time at the Outback. Why on earth would I come here? Just to show off I guess. ["Steak? What's that?"] Steak in general is just not what it used to be. Poorer quality meat (probably no matter where you go). So why pay exhorbitant prices when for steak-sake you can get the same thing for half the price? Just a place for trust fund babies and salesmen to show off their Lexus. Even after reading the reviews, my partner and I decided to give Morton's a try for old times' sake. However, customers should be aware that it is quite expensive. You expect to pay for the entire dining experience, right? Well, for a fine dining experience, three things are crucial: delicious food, attentive service, and a classy ambiance. The food was decent, but that's about it. Unfortunately, despite having made reservations, we were left waiting for 5 minutes for the hostess to come back and seat us in a dining room with plenty of empty tables. Despite our request to be seated away from others, the hostess eventually squeezed many customers into one corner of the otherwise empty dining room. Moreover, my partner and I dressed up as per Morton's dress code, only to find that it wasn't being maintained in the dining room. I try my best to be honest and give specific details. Please check my other reviews, my wife and I frequently visit fine dining. Some good things (food) some bad things (everything else). When you pull up, they do have valet so that is nice. However the guy was literally in shorts and a polo. No name tag, no stand, nothing. I actually said to my wife what is this guy doing. She said I think he is the valet. The decor inside is poor. Feels very much like being at a cheap wedding. Mostly tables, very few booths. For some reason I am big on glassware. The glasses and silverware are very out dated. Waiter seemed new but was very nice. Food was good. We both ordered salads and then filets. We also had the au gratin potatoes, they were ok nothing special. They did make a good drink, my wife had a dirty martini and I had vodka tonics. They give you a small bottle of tonic which was a nice touch. With fine dining, I know it is going to be expensive. When I leave I want to feel like it was worth it. That is my barometer. The bill was over $200 and I felt like it was not worth the money. Overall we left happy because the food was good. However in this class of dining, just happy doesn't cut it. So let's start with the fact that we came to the restaurant on a Monday, possibly the slowest day of the week for restaurants. We came in a party of 10 for a birthday & right away we were upset. They had to re-take our order 3 times because they were out of everything... the server was very apologetic but we had been there for hours already... then when the food came, it was wrong, from the steaks being charred/undercooked to the lobster Mac being burnt to hell. We dined at Morton's steakhouse yesterday (Valentine's day) Well... It was fine, but definitely not worth the money we spent. The appetizers are a big let down. We ordered the crab cake and the shrimp Alexander. They were around 20$ each. The shrimp Alexander was ok. It consists of 4 jumbo shrimps with sauce. It was fine, but definitely not wow! As for the crab cake, it was a huge let down. You would expect that for 20$, you would get a decent size appetizer. It was literally ONE crab cake. My husband and I had to split ONE crab cake that cost 20$. We ordered the Cajun and Chicago style steaks. They were around 55$ -60$ each. Again, they were fine, but we expected more. There was no oomph. The highlight of the evening was definitely the dessert. I enjoyed the hot chocolate cake (chocolate lava cake), and I recommend it. Overall, it was a let-down. I wish I could give negative stars because this is exactly what this place deserves. I had a reservation and arrived a couple of minutes early. The hostess pretty much tried to force us to go to the bar for a drink, even though I don't drink alcohol. We reluctantly went to the bar area since there wasn't another place for us to wait. My girlfriend and I waited for about 10 minutes to get seated, a bit annoying given that reservations are strongly suggested, yet not the end of the world. The review gets 1 star because our last interaction with meaningful restaurant personnel was when we were seated. Yes, the water guys and the bread guy were very courteous and made sure our water was filled, but we kept waiting for our waiter (or waitress) to show up. Nothing happened after half an hour, even though people that arrived after us had already been greeted by their server and even got their drinks. At that point I couldn't take the situation any longer and decided to leave. The worst part was hostess saw us leave and didn't even say a word. She seemed more interested in taking pictures of other parties throughout the restaurant in hopes that they would buy them = my guess is nobody buys those anyways. Somebody from the restaurant called me to offer apologies, but the damage was already done and I won't even dare step foot in that place even if offered a free meal. Why would I pick up the phone when nobody acknowledged me when they had a chance? I was already having dinner somewhere else and didn't feel that I had to interrupt my meal. $6 for butter with our steak? Really? We went to Morton's to celebrate our anniversary. We knew it was a-la-carte and we knew it was expensive, i.e. $60-$70 for a steak. We checked out the prices on-line before we went. I'm not upset about that, but $6 for a condiment is ridiculous! My experience was good until I saw that surprise on the bill. The food: I did have to send my steak back because it was rare and I asked for medium-rare, but when it came back it was good. My wife enjoyed her steak. Service was good, not great. WHAT THE HECK let's splurge because he's worth it. Let's start from the beginning... I called the Steakhouse a week before our arrival and requested a BOOTH for ample space, and also requested the special birthday dessert for my hubs... to my surprise... NO BOOTH. Instead, we were sat at this very small table (which looked like it could be transformed into a cart which food is served from) by these SNOBBY people whom talked about how much they sold their house for, and how many vacation homes they owned...yada yada yada... The presentation done by the waiter showing the specials for the night, the cut of beef they serve, the veggies, and the seafood selections was surpurb.. but a bit over the top. The app: We shared the bacon wrapped scallops ($21 for three) The meal: (Husband) New York strip with an Idaho Baked potato and broccoli ($80.00 all together) (for me) Sea Bass with garlic whipped potatos ($45.00 all together)... plus a cocktail a piece valued at $11.00 a piece, brought our bill to $168.00 plus tip for our waiter ($25.00) and a tip for valet (another $10.00). The food was o-k. I am not sure if it was worht $200.00. I gave this restaurant three star's because it is by far the priciest, and the food is not that great; as there are other restaurants in the area which serves almost the exact same thing but a little cheaper in price. Came here after work to start off my birthday and sat at the bar. We have never had a bad experience here so I didn't think it would be any different; especially considering the time of day. There was one other table in the bar area, one bartender/server attending them. We sat at the bar for 15 minutes waiting. We didn't even get water while we waited, let alone anything else. Let's get to the food, we both had the surf and turf, it was meh, steak got cold easily but it was good, could've been so much better. Lobster was absolutely great. We ate here last night and it was really good! Our server was super nice and helpful! Our food took a little longer than normal they said, but the manager came to our table to apologize and was really sincere about it. We didn't mind at all because we were in great company! The hosts take your jackets when you walk in which is a good touch to such a nice place. They also offer valet. The bread there is AHHHHMAZING! We had 2! I have been to the Morton's in Honolulu. And twice to this one. The first dining experience in Honolulu and Troy (May 2016) was excellent. But my visit in June 2016 at Troy, not as excellent. Décor is fancy. If you are celebrating something special, call ahead to make a reservation and they will print up special and personalized menus for you. They have a photographer that will take a free photo of the group. And the food delicious. To be honest, it was amazing steak, but is it really worth $50 for a steak, $15 for green beans? I am very frugal, so I find it hard to pay that much for food, although it is very delicious. It is worth saving up for a special occasion. My second visit in June 2016 to the Troy location, we had to ask for the free photographer. The waiter was no where to be seen that we had to ask another waiter for assistance. Other folks ordered before our waiter talked to us; folks seated after us got food before us; we finally just received dinner while other folks who seated after us were finishing up desert. For the price of the food, I expected way better service. My first visit to Honolulu and Troy was amazing, but not this last visit. Free valet parking (but is it free with a tip?). Parking is free, but it is a walk and you feel like a walk of shame walking to your car. The handicapped parking is right out the front door. My family and I had our Thanksgiving dinner here...it was so good last year we decided to do it again. There were eight of us. The restaurant was not that crowded at all so the usual fantastic service ended up being even better. Actually the servers were all super sweet we loved them! We must have had at least four loaves of the onion bread! It was amazing. The escargot was unique in that it had a puff pastry on top of the snail. There were no shells. I actually had the beef short rib and scallop "surf and turf". It was definitely out of the box for me and I loved it! The short rib fell right off the bone and the scallops were cooked perfectly. Off the bat I will say I was shocked to see that Morton's had a 5/5 rating. I've never really heard the best things about it. It is interesting that there are only 4 reviews though, anyways I digress. My take on Morton's is as follows...3.5/5 The Pros: Bread, Portions, Service The Shortcomings: Prices, Taste, Creativity (notes: note everything tasted bad, not all portions were heaping, and not all prices were high, but those are generalities across the entire meal) It goes like this...Morton's start you off with a nice onion loaf which I find to be pretty tasty. Looking at the menu I found it to be a bit plain and traditional. Looking at the appetizers, I'm always a bit surprised that they are basically all seafood. I understand it's a steakhouse and you may not want to double up on your meat, but it seems like even the seafood apps are a bit blase. I went with the crab cake, continuing my crab cake kick (say that 3 times fast). I will say this, it surely had the biggest and most hearty serving of lump crab I've had in a crab cake. However, that is probably why you only get 1 and not 2. As far as my steak went, double cut Filet, it was what I want in a Filet. It was a solid 3 inches thick at least and cooked perfectly medium rare. I will say that the Bearnaise sauce was average at best. I'm not an expert but I chose to not have the sauce drizzled on my steak by the waiter, and half way through it had completely hardened in the "gravy boat." Maybe this is typical and was my fault for letting it sit but it basically rendered it useless half way through. In the end I felt like it was somewhat blah. There wasn't a savory corner on the plate of blood and juices emerging from the steak for me to dip in or a perfectly seasoned sear on the outside that came through in every bite. For sides we went with the broccoli and onion rings. Both were top notch. The broccoli is some of the best you will find and goes great with the hollandaise sauce (plus it's really good for you). The onion rings were the bomb. Getting rings at a place like Morton's makes me never want to get them at some low rate restaurant or fast food place ever again. They were free of grease, perfectly crispy, and the Thai cream sauce gave them a good kick. For dessert I went light with the strawberry and raspberry assortment. Nothing to report here, they were fresh and delicious. The last pro was the service. I thought our waiter was on top of things and I liked the helpers making their way around each section refilling water and clearing plates almost immediately. I HATE when I got to a classy place and and looking around for someone to refill my water. The biggest shortcomings I think are the prices. Full disclosure I went with my parents so I wasn't footing the bill, and they had a gift card they received over the Christmas holiday so I'm not sure what the final tally came out to be. I can say this though, if I am going to take my special lady out for a nice meal it won't be to Morton's. I would much rather spend my money at Capital Grille, Flemming's, Cameron's or Ruth's Chris for a high end steak/meal. If I were to come back to Morton's I would have to be for one of their promotions (2 for $100) or special offers. Even then I would be weary that the portions would suffer and I wouldn't really be getting a deal at all. Maybe I will have to check out their happy hour. It looks like if you sit in the bar you can get drinks and off menu apps for a decent price. Overall, solid meal, but a little overpriced in my mind. read more

I'm a fan of this Morton's. The location works for me and there's plenty of parking. The decor/ambiance is upscale, tasteful and clean. The service has always been friendly, professional and quite attentive. The food has typically been enjoyable, but on one occasion, another diner noted his lobster bisque was off. I confirmed it was pretty bad, so they took it off the bill. Other than that, I've not had any complaints about the meals. I will say this is one of the more expensive steakhouses out there, but I never regret any meal I have here. read more

If I could give zero stars I would. We took our son out for his birthday and it was the worst dining experience we have had. The lobster bisque had a burnt taste. The Shrimp Scampi had no flavor except burnt. Ordered an $18 margarita and it was almost completely tequila, and was undrinkable. We went to Morton's for my birthday after work on a week night. The restaurant made a cute customized menu for my birthday, which turned out to be the highlight of my meal. I ordered the the filet medium (yes I know it should be rare but what can I say I like to medium). Our waitress confirmed it will have a pinkish center. Filet came out extra rare to the point the center was raw. The waitress had a second filet made this one was rare. Sent this one back as well asking for the steak to be well done figuring this would at least get me to medium. Well the filet came out at medium rare at best. The manager did come out to confirm it was okay. I kept the steak because I felt bad sending it back to get a fourth steak. Figured I would just cook it the rest of the way for lunch and ate a few bites that were done enough for my preference that evening. The rest of the meal was okay at best. The lobster was good but the sides were a disappointment. Ordered the Potatoes Au Gratin and they were luke warm and dry on the inside. Overall, I think I have to give Mortons a 4/5. Let me quickly break down that rating: -Service, atmosphere, ambiance, wait staff: 5/5 -Entree, appetizer, side dishes: 3/5 -Desserts: 5/5 Mortons was definitely a great experience and I would probably go back, but the food was not as good as I expected. For the price that you pay (meal for two will average around 150$), I expected one of the best meals of my life. Disappointingly, that was not the case. We got the 2 for 109$ deal, and therefore we were able to try a variety of different items off of the menu. We started with our respective salads: Caesar and Chop. They were normal/good salads as far as salads go. So far, par for the course. Then when the meal came, they serve you the appetizer/entree/side dishes all at once, so be prepared for a lot of food. Our layout was as follows: -Appetizers: breaded shrimp & bacon wrapped scallops (3.5/5 - the breaded shrimp was good but the bacon wrapped scallops were too salty for me) -Entree: Filet Mignon (3/5 - I had really high expectations for this steak as the presentation before the meal made it sound so good, whereas it was just average....and mine was actually a little charred on top) -Side dishes: brussel sprouts & mashed potatoes (3/5 - the brussel sprouts being served with bacon didn't seem like a good combo to me, it was too salty. Mixing it with a Balsamic seemed like a more obvious pairing. The mashed potatoes were fine, its hard to have a bad mashed potato.) -Dessert: creme brulee & chocolate cake/ice cream sundae (5/5 - I personally thought the desserts were awesome, not much more to say about them. Please let me preface this review with stating we have been to many fine steakhouses across the country and have had many wonderful meals. Tonight we had neither the time nor the appetite for a large meal so we decided to just have appetizers and drinks at Morton's happy hour. It was not a pleasant experience. The service was poor; we were treated as though we were lucky to have someone wait on us. We waited for forty minutes for appetizers which were almost inedible. The steak sandwiches were bland pieces of meat with dry bread, crab cakes a sloppy tasteless mess, and beef tacos made with very fatty meat. The only thing that was tolerable was the spinach crab dip, which one can find at most mediocre restaurants and bars anywhere. Either offer a quality happy hour and bar food or don't bother. Dined for my birthday with my wife and had an outstanding experience. Dined in the bar area as that is our style. We were greeted at the door by a very friendly and accommodating attendee. Special menus with our name were presented to us as we sat down.... they were expecting us :-) The bartenders went out of there way to make sure we understood the menu and the other offerings. Restaurant atmosphere has taken a slight downturn since new owners. Maitre d' is NOT wearing a tux anymore which seemingly bleeds over to the other clientele?? Almost everyone was wearing something slightly less than business casual. I say almost because there were at least two tables where the people were wearing 'fashionable' ripped jeans - really?? Maybe the new owners don't own suits?? It would be a LOT of fun to have a quarterly MUST DRESS UP night here. At least then we could once in a while get back to the way the place used to be?? Well this was my first trip back to Morton's Steakhouse in about 10 years and it is still as good as I remember it being. I was with my father and step mother and it was their first time being there. The setting and atmosphere is how I like my steakhouse's to be but it was a little noisy. We had for a appetizer the Jumbo Lump Crab Cake which was probably the best I have ever had. My only issue and it isn't a big one is that it was a little on the small side but it was full of crab hardly any filler. For dinner I had Five Peppercorn Rubbed Prime Strip Steak which was beyond tender but I probably wouldn't order again because it was almost to much pepper and I love black pepper but I did finish the entire steak. My oter guest both had a filet with shrimp and scallops which they both loved. We all shared the Creamed Corn which had ham in it which was incredible and we also had Garlic Mashed Potatoes which I was kinda so so about. Went to Morton's for Troy Restaurant week. We have been been enjoying Morton's for years but I feel like something changed since our last experience. The filet seemed much smaller than we both remembered. Because of that, I felt that it was dried out and lacked the flavor we both remembered. Accompaniments I felt very similar. Just ok and not what I would expect from a higher end steakhouse. Service was still great as well as the atmosphere. I just feel like something was missing from our other experiences. read more
