This place is a classic place to eat at in the cannon beach area. We got our name in and we're seated within 10 mins. Sat down, waited 5 mins for the waiter and he took out orders. I got the halibut fish and fries along with a cup of clam chowder. Both were really good. The Bloody Mary was not too bad either. The fish was not too greasy either. I liked the cabbage and shrimp salad as well. This place has a great name but I am sure there are better places for the price. But when it's covid times and the state going on lock down again it's about all you can settle for these days. Going to the coast in the winter is definitely different from going there in the summer. Mo's is usually packed with folks in the summer, but when we visited in the winter there were only a few people. A classic must-get is the clam chowder they have. However, it's a hit or miss sometimes in the flavor. This time around, we got a family-style chowder and it was pretty good and flavorful. No complaints. I ordered the combo basket, which I didn't realize how big it would be... With the combo basket you get to choose a side and I got a cabbage salad with shrimp. I for some reason thought that when it said cabbage salad and shrimp it would come with other things, but it literally is what it says. It came with a good pile of small shrimps for the salad. The combo basket came with some cod, shrimp, clam strips and fries. The shrimp felt like a coconut shrimp in a way, the cod was breaded nicely and the clam strips were good. The fries were a little greasy but was yummy. Overall, lots of food for this combo basket and definitely could share it with two people. I didn't take any photos this time, but will do next time. Oh also, while we were eating there is a nice view of the ocean here. We were able to see some whales a far. read more

On 6/1/25 sat outside with our dog & had wonderful service from server Cynthia food was ok but enjoyed our dining experience more. The next day on 6/2/25 went with our friends & management refused to service us outside again said we had to order our meals via takeout & beverages from the cooler. I told them that wasn't the case the previous day & they said well this is a different day and offered no other solutions. We left & didn't go back for the duration of our trip. We took a drive to Cannon Beach for Father's Day and decided to get some clam chowder and seafood at Mo's. Worried about the long wait times, we called from downtown Cannon Beach and the host told us we should come by earlier to put our name on the list to avoid being stuck waiting in line later. We did, and it worked out. So, definitely plan ahead on weekends. So we waited around 35 minutes (it felt faster) until we received a text for our table. Upon entering the dining area, we noticed that they removed quite a few tables for social distancing purposes. It was spacious and, because it was so nice outside, we chose a table on the back patio with a great view of the rocks. By the way, the new seating policy is: the servers will lead you to a table and will handle the bill right there, which makes complete sense for keeping things moving and people apart. I ordered my standard clam chowder with a side of garlic bread, my bf ordered the halibut fish and chips, and his daughter ordered the chicken tenders with a side cup of chowder. The chowder was thick and full of clams and the garlic bread was fresh and crunchy. So, I liked it. The fish and chips were moist on the inside and crunchy on the outside, which is what you want. For the fish itself, the halibut was good, if maybe a bit expensive for what you get though. The chicken tenders must have been good because they disappeared pretty fast. I know there are a lot of new places to get seafood/fish and chips in Cannon Beach, but I would recommend Mo's for the classic food and the view. We stopped in at Mo's on a roadtrip from out of town at 8 o'clock. We were hungry and it was one of the only places left open along our route so we decided to give it a try despite the subpar reviews. We were seated quickly and there were a lot of tables open, but there were still quite a few diners. Our server didn't come nearly as quickly but she was very nice and we were checked on frequently. It was a little cold but it was nighttime so it makes sense. We ordered the fettuccini Alfredo with crispy chicken, a large portion of the clam chowder, the shrimp cabbage salad, and the fish tacos with cod. The Alfredo was lukewarm and didn't have very much flavor. The crispy chicken was really just cut up chicken fingers. The cod in the fish tacos was very good but everything else was relatively bland. The clam chowder was huge despite getting a the large which had 2 sizes larger than it. It also was pretty bland and had more potatoes and bacon in it than clam, though it was very hot, so that is a plus. We got the shrimp cabbage salad with the shrimp on the side, I don't really know why this is on the menu, it was not good. We also got the garlic butter parm bread which was absolutely saturated in butter, definitely not something you get if you're on a diet. Overall the food was edible- but not much else. Though the staff were very nice and we got in and out. I probably wouldn't come back again if I were to pass back through the area, so if you arrive before everything closes I would recommend going somewhere else. read more

Very surprised after reading a Yelp post where someone complained of being turned away when requesting a dog friendly table and the manager replied they were sorry for the confusion as they have seating outside for customers with dogs. Well today, we requested outdoor seating with our dogs and were told by "Cass" they no longer offer this. Had to take the dogs back since our only option was take out if we had our dogs. Ordered a quart of clam chowder to go the other day - can't beat the flavor and the quart size is a real bargain. Got like 3 meals out of it! Today was 1lb of steamers - that was my lunch with an order of garlic parm bread to dip in the sauce. Plus a shared order of onion rings. The fried food is great here if you like cornmeal breading. I prefer a beer batter, but hey no accounting for taste. This location has done a good job of social distancing - their tables are still a nice distance apart, and many of the staff (though not all) had masks on. Can't beat the view :-) My wife enjoyed the fried shrimp, my daughter the Impossible Burger (she thought it may have been slightly undercooked), my son-in-law his fish tacos, and my grandson liked his strips. I must admit I picked this place simply for the great views of Cannon Beach and that was my mistake. Came here on a Tuesday around 2 pm and was seated right away on the patio with an awesome view. I ordered: -Cannonball ($11.95) - this is your classic clam chowder in a sourdough bread bowl. The bread bowl was extremely stale and the chowder itself was lackluster. Paired with cauliflower rice, perfect for keto diet. Avocado stuffed with shrimp salad, 4 stars, flavor is good, only thing is the avocado comes with skin, my husband didn't like to peel the skin. For how popular this place was, I was a bit disappointed. The food was pretty average, but I guess most people come here for the convenience and beautiful views of the beach - for that it is great! There is a bit of a wait here on the weekends, so making a reservation in advance would probably be helpful. I did really appreciate how they spaced out the tables adequately for COVID, I felt very safe dining indoors here. I just happened to be off this past Thursday and my Mother-In-Law was taking my kids to Cannon Beach. I couldn't help coming along. We spend the morning walking up and down the beach around Haystack Rock looking at the tide pools. The kids loved all the sea anemones and sea stars. After a couple hours we were all getting quite hungry and wouldn't you know it? Mo's was right there. This was an easy decision. We got seated pretty quickly on the outdoor patio. We forgot our masks and we had a dog in tow as well, so it worked. I got the fish and chips. To my surprise it came with a side of chowder. I had no problem with this. The chowder was super creamy and delicious. Just a couple grains of sand. The chunks of clam were a good texture and the potatoes were good too. I generously added some Tobasco to give it some spice. Sadly oyster crackers were not provided so I had to deal with saltines. The fish and chips didn't disappoint either. I splurged for the beer batted halibut. The fish was flaky and the breading was crispy and the fries were good too. There was 3 large pieces and combined with the malt vinegar and tarter sauce it combined for an epic meal. Mo's is MUST if you're in Cannon Beach, it's our family's favorite places. This year we placed our order online (covid times am I right?). The online ordering process was simple, easy and quick. Our food was ready in about 20 minutes and we walked over to pick our food up (stayed at a nearby hotel). I ordered the Combo Basket with Fries and a bowl of chowder. The combo came with shrimp, clams and fish. Mo's is always good because it's consistent, fried seafood goodness and fries are always a win, just add ketchup and tartar sauce. It always was a fun place to go when we were on the coast growing up, especially at this particular restaurant. I miss that place because that is NOT what we experienced tonight. When we took our family to Mo's tonight, expecting a wonderful and nostalgic experience, we were blatantly ignored for over 20 mins. The place was LOUD, and seating was horrible. We had to walk out because our 5yo was so hungry and no one would even come take our drink orders. When we told the hostess, she couldn't care less. DO NOT GO HERE. Absolutely awful. Please save your money. We ended up going to Tom's Fish and Chips less then 10 mins away and it was AWESOME! The cod fish and chips were off the hook (pun intended). I stop at Mo's everytime I'm at the coast. This is my favorite place to eat. In the summer expect to stand in a long line to be seated. The fall and winter months are much quieter. They have trinkets, souvenirs, t shirts, hoodies, and small toys as you walk in. They have a good sized menu and you'll find something everyone can eat. The food always tastes fresh and you get a good bang for your buck. The service is always fast and the staff is always super friendly. We figured we would go and sit outside and have an early dinner, beat the rush and enjoy the view of Cannon Beach. After I took 5 deep breaths the cashier got the manager, Andrew, came over to me and I told him the situation. Well he did the right thing and took 50% off the bill and gave us a $30.00 gift certificate to any of the Mo's restaurants. He did the right thing with the right attitude for the right reason. Good job. They are getting a 1 star for the food and waitress service but Andrew would get 4 stars for correcting the situation. We shall see if we ever will be going back. The view of Haystack Rock is just the beginning. Being on the beach, it has a casual/ beach feel. Their New England clam chowder made with bacon ranks with the best.
