Good limited selection of Russian groceries. The sweets seem pretty fresh (checked expiration date). Very big variety of meat! My mouth becomes watery even thinking about it! Very friendly young female cashier.

Saturday, May 11, 2019 I go here ALL the time!! This is in my neighborhood (181st Street & Fort Washington Avenue). The Russian herring (SOOO many varieties), salmon, white fish, and the rich tasting chocolate pastry (with liqueur). The counter-lady is a breath of fresh air -- VERY NICE!

Website. $8.99 for 1.5 lbs. See next pic.

I hate to do this. I do. But the last few orders left much to be desired. There were missed items, there was disregard of special requests, and there have been no calls to clarify potential questions. The invoices are unclear - just a printout of your order with vague markings. There are no weigh-ins on the deli sent - I have no idea if it's 0.8 lbs or 1.2 lbs. unless I weigh myself, which is a hassle. Before, they used to call to make sure they got it right. Not anymore. This has been my last delivery order, I'm afraid. If I care to purchase from them again, I'll likely go there. But, frankly, I'm far more likely to take my car from the garage and schlepp over to Fort Lee, Staten Island or Brighton. A shame. They used to be very convenient for Manhattanites. They're ok as far as the product itself goes. But I do not recommend delivery. Not anymore, anyway - and I gave them the benefit of the doubt for the last 3 orders. EDIT: Just noticed they charged me $8.99 for bacon that weighed in below 0.7 lbs (same price adverized on website for 1.5 lbs piece) AND they removed the "best before" part of the sticker. Judging by the lot number compared to same item from other store, a much later lot is best before 2/20/16. So safe to guess it's best before tomorrow (if not yet expired). Disgusting.

Don't be fooled by Moscow on the Hudson's size. The tiny Store That Could packs in all of The Motherland's essentials. My personal shopping list usually includes: 1) sushki (donut-like tea cookies), 2) "Sherbet" (halva-esque hardened, sticky, dense paste with nuts and raisins), 3) Borodinsky (black) bread, 4) "Rossiski" cheese, 5) pork loin salami, 6) beef/lamb pelmeni (dumplings), 7) beef blitzes (crepes), 8) pecan baklava, 9) Viola cheese spread and, last but not least, 10) Korovki (caramel) candies. MotH has phenomenal cheese, salami and fish selections. Its tightly-packed shelves also offer a large variety of honeys, jams, grains, juices, cakes and chocolate. (Additional note: My parents are huge fans of their Kefir and pickles (ingested separately, mehopes).) And if you're feeling overwhelmed by all of the choices, just ask the jovial lady behind the counter for a suggestion. She's always happy to help.

This place is so cool and random. A little deli completely devoted to Russian food, snacks and kitch in Washington Heights? Sure, why not! I travelled to Russia a few years ago and had... Mixed reviews. The food sure was interesting (they love dill!) and the accommodations... Strange. I randomly stopped by the other day for a pastry and ended up with a huge cookie (see photo). This thing is crunchy on the outside, yet soft on the inside. It's studded with nuts and sandwiched between the two layers is a creamy mousse of unknown flavor. It took me about two days to finish and landed me in a sugar coma. Will I return? Well I'm moving, so probably not.

The famous Moscow on the Hudson store

This store is the best grocery store in all of Manhattan!!! I have been shopping here for a very long time now and am so happy to have found Moscow on the Hudson. Shopping here is always a treat the Russian food is authentic always fresh and so yummy, the cakes are so amazing and just too yummy!!!! I don't know how they found such great bakers but I am always so amazed by the cakes. The staff there has always been nothing but nice and so professional to me and my family whether we shop online and get home delivery or go into the store. I truly love Marina and all of her staff I will continue to shop here for many years to come. I just love you all now and always!!!!

Great assortment of Russian and other European goods. They have meats, cheeses and a good variety of sweets and pastries. The guys who work there are really cool and laid back. I will definitely come back there and spend more time trying out the candies and sweets.

If you need pretty much any Russian food or just want to try some new things this is the place to go. My roommate is from Russia so she introduced me to this place which is just a block away from our apartment. The people are friendly and its amazing how many different things you can find there. Check it out!

We were reuniting with a friend we hadn't seen in nearly a decade and we couldn't have picked a better spot to catch up. Two bottles of white later we nearly finished the butter service and enjoyed some escargot and their steak frites. We threw in a chopped salad and finished it off with their caramel dessert that somewhat resembled a tiramisu. Upon lifting the cylinder sleeve the delicious and light caramel sauce pours over the cake with crunch chocolate nibs sprinkled on top. Looking forward to trying their dinner menu when we visit again.

We started with the meatballs a must try, and for the main event, We had the Bone-in Dry-Aged Prime Sirloin topped with truffle butter incredibly flavorful and cooked to absolute perfection. Pair it with the corn crème brûlée sweet and savory side dish. Incredible food, unmatched hospitality, and the perfect place to celebrate. Thank you, Mike and Carlos!

Food: I got the burger and it was indeed a hit cause Im not a big fan of red Cabbage. However when I tried it, I love the taste it brings to the meat and cheese. Food: I tried the jumbo hotdog with chili cheese and the spare ribs. The ribs had tenderness but also good chew with caramelized sweet sauce stuck to the meat. Some very solid pork ribs for sure. The jumbo hotdog was extra long and definitely could not be contained by the bun. The dog was clearly artisanal with its great meaty taste and ridiculous snap perfectly complemented by the chunky chili and melty cheese topping. Service: Simple, quick, and easy with ample seating room, a luxury in Chelsea Market. Ambiance: I loved being to play eye spy with the various Dickson products from where I sat on a wooden picnic style bench and table.

It was empty when we visited during dinner time and the restaurant was not quite new so I had to admit I was a bit worried. However, our server was amazing and guided us through what to order. My family was visiting NY so I had my two kids with me. The set menu was per person but seeing my children, the server accommodated us by allowing us to order a set meal for two and not requiring us to order full sets for our two children as well. We ordered the Chef's Tasting menu as recommended. This came with plentiful of sides dishes, a scallion salad, a scallion pancake, and a choice of stew. The pancake was very thin and crispy. I think I am used to denser pancakes. The egg soufflé was delicious, much more flavorful than others I have tried. This set came with three cuts of pork. My favorite two were the pork jowl and pork belly. We also ordered a side of corn cheese, which is always a favorite for the kids. My husband accidentally ordered a pork noodle thinking it was something else. There was so much food that we couldn't finish, so the pork noodle was not memorable as a result. The fresh rice wine was a must for us when having Korean BBQ. That and the complimentary soft served ice cream at the end was the highlight of the meal for me. I think the soft served ice cream was topped with a pineapple syrup, but I am not certain. I still think about the ice cream now that I am back home from my NYC trip. Overall . an amazing restaurant with great service and great food. See my pictures.

The effortless tranquility encourages you to slow down, enjoy the food, and get away from the everyday, hubbub. Their menu leans into fusion dishes with a nod to some of the classic home-style classics. Everything is presented with a refined, elevated touch. Here's what we ordered: ~ Tako Wasabi - 5/5 stars A fiery delight. This appetizer feartures chopped raw octopus marinated in wasabi. It has a lively zest from the wasabi and is topped with tobiko, which adds a pleasant contrast in texture. ~ Honey Makgeolli - 4/5 stars A traditional fermented Korean beverage that is light and pairs brilliantly with your meal. It is a cloudy alcholoic drink served in a metal teapot, and surprisingly, there is much more in that teapot than you would expect. It easily provides six to eight generous pours. The flavor is subtly sweet with a pleasant tang. ~ Temaki Set - 4/5 stars You can order a set of three by choosing from selections 1-17, or you can order a la carte at the listed prices. Some of the temaki stood out more than others. Our two sets included marinated salmon, bluefin tuna, spicy yellowtail, spicy bluefin, and two dynamite temaki. ~ Spicky Pork Ssam Set - 5/5 stars Truly another standout entree that even surpassed my beloved grilled BBQ bossam. You received a generous basket of assorte greens, including romaine, kale, perilla leaves, dandelion leaves, nappa cabbage, and more. It is well worth the price and makes for a fun, interactive dining experience with your family and friends. There is also various banchan offered and this time, they were beyond kind enough to offer refills. The last time we were here, we ordered just as much food and they stated they normally did not offer refills, which I thought was very odd. With its casual bougie aesthetics, this spot has quickly become one of my favorite eateries in Fort Lee-lee, It beautifully blends Korean, Japanese, and American flavors in a way that feels both comforting and elevated. Needless to say, we will be back!
