cozy little shop at the bottom of an apartment building, they serve up filipino inspired goods and drinks! they're known for their creme brulee topped drinks but unfortunately only for their hot drinks and we wanted a cold drink on the hot day. the barista was awesome and gave me lots of recommendations! we eventually got the choconana cold brew ($6.85) which wasn't too sweet, and uses their homemade banana milk. It's batched rather than whisked to order, so that's something to keep in mind if you prefer a more traditional preparation. Went here because of the high reviews and to try the biko latte. So I'm here to give my experience. We arrived and ordered a cold brew and the bike Latte. The guy at the register seemed as if he didn't want to be there that morning. 8 of the 9 flies around over and around the counter were friendlier. As for the taste of the coffee. Well we ended up getting more from a cart elsewhere that was better. The cold brew was very watered down and the biko just tasted like burnt sugar. Just another heads up about this flies. The vibes are are great I love the interior of the space and when I heard that their matcha was upgraded I had to give it a try. I ordered a regular size iced matcha latte with oat milk and vanilla syrup, total with tip it was $9 and some change. It was ok, the vanilla slightly overpowered the matcha so it wasn't as strong as I would like to to be. And for the price I don't think it was worth it. It's significantly better than it used to be though. This would be a good matcha for someone who likes a lighter matcha flavor/strength. I would stick to getting coffee here and skip the matcha. Service was great though everyone is very friendly! The matcha itself for me was 3 stars but if I had gotten a coffee it would probably have been 4 stars. read more

Giving this a 4 star because I haven't tried everything on the menu just yet but it's been so so yummy every time I go! My favorite is the creme brûlée latte. They have 3 different variations. I will suggest going earlier in the day as sometimes they do run out of the other items. It's a nice neighborhood to walk so sometimes I buy coffee and walk around for a bit. Wish I could have tried the coffee but it says that the staff went on lunch break for 40 min. Starting when? Ending when? Who knows. The shop looks cute and I waited for 20 min outside but no luck. Loved the pastry here. I honestly forgot exactly what it was, but I think it was an ube muffin topped with cheddar cheese. It was really unique and something I'd come back for on its own. The parking was easy, right next to the building which looks to be part coffee shop, part mixed-use space/office space. The staff was not overly friendly, and they were out of almost everything, which of course is a bummer since their menu is part of the calling to this place. I ended up ordering a cold brew plain with light ice. While it was not bad, it was not as excellent as other Mostra locations that I have been to. At this price point, the Coffee should be great, the service should be friendly and while they were out of almost everything, hard to judge a business on that as that thing can happen. read more

I liked the creative coffee options. Unfortunately, they didn't have decaf the day I was there, but I got their iced honey latte and that was good. My only concern here is seating. There's not enough of it. I was looking for a place to work for an hour and the available seats were all at high tables and we're not very comfortable. Visiting from Huntington Beach and stopped by around 10 AM -- pleasantly surprised it wasn't crowded, which I actually prefer. I chose this coffee shop because of the unique Filipino flavors like bibingka and turon, which you don't often find elsewhere. Unfortunately, neither was available, and staff couldn't say when they'd be back. That was disappointing, especially since it was the main reason I came. I later noticed in other reviews that this seems to be a recurring issue -- certain menu items, especially the Filipino-inspired ones, aren't consistently available. It would be great to see more consistency, especially when those offerings are what set the place apart. The space itself is aesthetically pleasing with a cozy vibe, but the staff didn't seem very engaged. A bit more warmth and interaction would definitely elevate the experience -- I felt a little awkward with the lack of customer engagement. I settled for the crème brûlée latte, which I'd rate a 3.5/5. It wasn't bad, just not memorable enough to draw me back on its own. That said, I see a lot of potential here. Great overall experience. Mostra Coffee isn't just making coffee, they're out here conducting flavor symphonies in tiny cups. I ordered their single origin espresso. This thing hits your tongue and suddenly you're questioning everything you thought you knew about coffee. I go to all the Mostras in the area: Hillcrest, 4S, Torrey, & Bankers. Banker's Hill ... I had faith in them until I didn't. Overall, I love the Mostra brand but, specifically Bankers will no longer be a location I visit. What I got: - Cold Brew - Longonisa sando Pros: - Customer service: Usually really good and very understanding with ordering. - Aesthetic: Very good place to sit and people watch or watching planes go by. There's outlets for you to charge your devices. The patio area looks very nice especially on a nice day. Cons: - Parking: You will never be able to find parking near it. It's busy but, it's city parking so you kinda gotta roll with it. (Not taking a star off for this but, imo still a con) - Burning food: I got the sando. I attached a photo of it and it's definitely BURNT. Lol Overall, I love the Mostra brand but, for a first time experience I would say go to Hillcrest. They are more consistent with the drinks & food. If you don't really care and just need a hang out spot near the airport that can fit 2-3 people then I'd say come here and grab a drink & bite to eat. read more

This location is within a residential building but you can access it on the corner of the street! I was lucky to snag street parking and ran in real quick to get my order. My boyfriend and I got the turon cream brulee and the cookie butter latte (his third choice tbh). My boyfriend originally wanted to try the bibingka cream brulee drink but they were out of like 3 drinks by 2pm which was a bit disappointing. I'm a huge banana fan so I always love trying lattes that contain banana (milk) and I've been curating a list of top ones. Sadly, their latte did not make the list. Idk if the quality is inconsistent because it seems like they have good reviews on this drink but for my drink, I could hardly taste the banana milk. It tasted more like unripe banana and there was no hint of jackfruit syrup either.
