You wouldn't mistake this place for a high-end resort, but after a long day of driving and deciding to hole up in Mammoth Lakes, this place was good 'nuf. The room was clean, it's in a nice location in town, close to shops and restaurants. It's just a convenient place for an overnight stop. And for one of those budget hotels, you can't really squeeze more out of these places so you have to temper your expectations. It's the second time I've stayed at this place and both times, they've been exactly what I expected, basic amenities at its most modest means. Yeah, the outside seems rundown and the curbside appeal can use some touch-ups. But as I always think, once you close your eyes for the night and you're a good sleeper, all hotel rooms look the same.

Just checked in and here for a few days. Front desk check in was super friendly and smooth process but as soon as we walked into room there was blood platters on the wall. Not sure how housekeeping missed this.

Absolutely terrifying and disgusting experience! Stay away from this place as far as possible!!! The only reason we ended up staying in this terrible, smelly, old and dirty hotel is because of the 395 road closure during a snow storm. They (of course) took advantage of this situation and charged us $270(!!!) per night per each room (we had 2 rooms). We had to stay for 2 nights because we had nowhere else to go. The room cards they gave us for one of the rooms had tones of issues and didn't work most of the time. We ended up using our friends' room to get into our room, since the rooms were connected. At some point, the door in between our rooms accidentally got locked and we lost access to our room, it was around 11pm. We went to the front desk several times and tried multiple cards they gave us to open our room, and none of the cards worked! They offered to sleep in a different room, but this was absolutely not an option for us - we were monitoring road closure situation and needed to pack and leave Mammoth Lakes immediately as soon as the roads would be re-opened. Thus, we needed access to our stuff, our phones and our car keys, so that we could pack and leave at any time, possibly even during the night or very early in the morning. Eventually, they called in a maintenance guy, and he couldn't open our room after multiple attempts. He ended up drilling a hole in the door that connected our room to our friends' room, so we could unlock this door from another side and finally get into our room. The kids were terrified and were crying from a very loud drilling and from this whole situation. We never asked for the hole drilling neither for any other damage, and of course we were never told we would be responsible for this financially (unbelievable anyone would even think of it!!). All we needed was access to our room, for which we overpayed a ridiculous amount of money. They called us in the morning and tried blaming us for the door damage and charge for it!!! We refused to pay of course. Additionally, the front desk worker (female) was beyond rude and unrespectful, and treated us like criminals threatening to take to court. The way this place treats their customers is beyond unthinkable, they simply do not deserve any customers. Period.

Basic room but always clean, reliable, and a safe place to stay. My go to for a Mammoth motel!

Our visit was made much easier because of the nice young man at the front desk named Luke. Appreciate his kindness and efficiency.

Coffee makers in the rooms are terrible and leak everywhere. Luckily they have coffee near the front desk. 3 stars Food: Due to staffing shortages they sometimes have to cancel the continental breakfast. be sure to bring your own or be ready to go out to eat. Comfort There is no central heating with thermostat so you have to use the wall unit. I would recommend turning that on immediately upon arriving in the room because it takes a while to heat up. 3 stars. They do have a Jacuzzi on the bottom floor and it is quite large. There's a noisy fan blowing so consider bringing some noise canceling headphones if you're going to go into that water. Swimwear might be sensible as well other than that I had a smooth check-in and they got all my particulars exactly right. 5 stars. comfort: bring earplugs because the doors in the hallways are heavy and loud. they're constantly slamming every time somebody comes and goes. The bathrooms are standing showers (no tubs). I always wish there was a handheld wand/hose instead of the spigot that just rains on you. Maybe consider bringing one of those handhelds too?

They don't have elevators here, so if you have mobility issues, ask for a room on the first floor. The rooms were very nice and spacious. Beds were comfortable. The entry door was heavy and needed a bigger shove to get it to close, so not too convenient. The bathroom door was interesting, but very annoying and not that practical. It makes too much noise, and it can wake people up in the middle of the night even someone uses the bathroom. There is warm breakfast available in the early morning. It was simple and nice. Overall, a wonderful stay.

The location is excellent -- less than a 5-minute walk to the gondola. They also offer ski valet right in the lobby, which makes the walk even shorter. Huge plus: boot dryers. Check-in was super easy, and we upgraded our room to one of their "condos." Just to set expectations: this isn't a full condo. It's essentially a hotel room with a small living area and a Murphy bed. Still comfortable and totally fine for what we needed. The best part of this hotel is that it's dog-friendly -- and truly dog-friendly. Any size dog, big or small, and there were dogs everywhere (including ours). There's a forested area behind the hotel that's perfect for letting your pup play in the snow. One downside: some guests don't pick up after their dogs, so there was dog poop around even though the hotel provides bag dispensers. Maybe adding more (or enforcing cleanup) would help. The price is good, the hotel is clean, but it is old -- very old -- and definitely showing its age. The hallway floors are uneven, the elevator makes some questionable noises, and nothing about it feels modern. That said, after skiing all day, the four hot tubs and heated pool are amazing and very much appreciated. I stay here for convenience, not luxury. The beds are comfortable, towels are clean, and that's honestly all we need. Plus, it's close to The Yodler, our favorite restaurant. We've stayed here many times before and will stay many times again.

The rooms are noisy with paper-thin walls--you can hear guests walking, talking, and moving around all night long, making it nearly impossible to sleep. It honestly felt like people were walking inside my room. The room itself is poorly maintained and outdated, with dirty, stained carpets and a bathroom that was not clean. Nothing felt refreshed or well cared for, which is unacceptable at this price point. Breakfast was equally terrible. The food was cold, the omelet was tough and rubbery, and overall the quality was far below expectations--borderline inedible. Between the noise, lack of cleanliness, outdated rooms, and overpriced rates, this place is absolutely not worth the money. I would not stay here again and do not recommend it to anyone looking for a comfortable or restful stay.
