I just came here both days resting between XC sessions, ate some lunch I brought, had some water and just chilled out. Id definitely love to return and have a cocktail here and hang out here with a special someone, flirting the night away, plotting some clandestine tryst (maybe a beautiful hike into the mountains behind - looking at stars, listening for wild animals) and deeply enjoying life, big grins, and making each day count. The only downside and definitely a star deduction was perhaps it was too clean and smelled strongly of cleaning solution. We left open all the window and turned up the heat at night and turned on all the fans when we left for the day and by the second day, it was tolerable. Continental breakfast was fine with hard boiled eggs and yogurt for protein and cream cheese and peanut butter and all the toastable carbs. We loved our hikes and I loved kayaking on Twin Lakes. It's a perfect one-hour paddle and so peaceful up at the waterfall.

Westin is owned by Marriott so you get all the Bonvoy rewards benefits. Best perk is they're dog-friendly. Dog fee is $50 x night per dog. Parking: Underground parking for guests. There are a few EV charging stations available. Download the ChargePoint app (but it's a pretty pricey, 0.91 per kWh). Highly recommend! I planned this trip with a group of friends, and they could not stop commenting about how the chalets was the best stay they've been in at Mammoth. We stayed at chalet #9 which was not a ski out, but a very short walk to the main lodge/lifts and definitely a ski in from lower road runner. The chalet itself was cozy with plentiful seating, and even extra foldable chairs for our group. The beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms came equipped with hotel sized toiletries, which was a nice touch. The kitchen is a good size and well equipped with all the necessities, along with a fridge/freezer that was the perfect size to fit all of our weekend groceries. I also appreciated that they even had a huge pot to make group meals like pho, even though I had already brought my own instant pot. There was a kitchen with fridge, stove, dishwasher, dishes, utensils, kettle, coffee maker, toaster, etc. Also dining table, fireplace, a nice balcony viewing the gondola. It was a 2 minute walk to the village gondola which was super convenient. Everything was really clean and parking was convenient as well. There are lockers in the parking garage that you should put your boards in. They lend you a lock if you don't have one. Everything was great. They have robes you can use to go to the pool/jacuzzi. The beds were comfortable but I didn't personally like the pillows. The master bedroom had a shower and a bathtub which is great to relax in after a day of boarding. Overall no issues at all. There is free wifi and no smoking. You can smoke on the street.

For a "shoulder season" getaway, you really ought to put Juniper Springs Resort on your list! I…read moremean, if you're a skiier, you probably already know about it, but in the off season (before the snows), you can get a room for a low rate, and still have the whole of Mammoth Lakes at your doorstep to explore! Tons of shops, restaurants, breweries, distilleries, etc. await! For amenities, Juniper Springs Resort boasts a pool, an exercise room, a jacuzzi, and beautiful lounging areas. The rooms all have small balconies where you can get some fresh air and admire the scenery. And (we learned mid-trip) the resort is one of four regular stops for the local free shuttle/trolley that comes by every 30 minutes or so and is free to use. On top of that, the resort is adjacent to one of Mammoth Lakes' many ski lifts, so at least some of the runs are available literally right at your doorstep. The room we rented was comfortable and spacious, with a full kitchen, nice comfy living room with gas fireplace, and a separate bedroom, and there were TVs in both rooms. Parking, by the way, is underground, which is assuredly a huge perk during the winter snows. Overall, we were very pleased with our stay, and would definitely consider staying there again. Couple of things they could have done better: 1. Guests should be made aware at check-in of the availability of the shuttle/trolley. My sweetheart was stuck at the hotel for a day until we figured this out for ourselves, as even when asked about Uber/Lyft, the front desk never mentioned the shuttle. 2. The ice machine on the 4th floor was perpetually empty. Not sure if it was just being regularly raided by other guests, or if it was in need of service. 3. A blender we attempted to use (provided as one of the in-room amenities) leaked its contents out through the bottom seal like a seive. When I disassembled it to check the gasket, I found black mold. The front desk was unable to help, but offered to remove it for us. 4. The televisions in the room were not "smart" in the sense that we could not "cast" to them from our phones. We do this a lot, so it's not a user error thing. Just beware you will be limited to whatever viewing options the TV/cable service provides. PRO TIP 1: Hinging off of #3 above, the rooms in the resort are potentially privately owned. Apparently ours was, and was rented out as a sort of Air-BnB. This was the reason the hotel couldn't help with the blender, as it is not an item the resort provides, but was provided by the owner. PRO TIP 2: BEWARE THE ELEVATOR DOORS! They close VERY quickly after opening, and we were struck by them several times. Open the door, stick your hand in, and once everyone has gone in or out, then remove your hand. I'll end with a funny/silly observation. In the elevators was posted a list of the hotel regulations, among which were the parking requirements. The advisement ended with a warning that vehicles parked inappropriately, and not corrected within 24 hours, would have a "boot" affixed to their vehicle. In a nutshell, if your vehicle is parked in such a way that it is causing a problem, their "fix" will be to make that situation permanent. Totally makes sense.

Just found out Graphic Conclusion is no longer there because the owner died and the wife didn't want to take over...So after the Pandemic and we came up to Rock Creek and Yelped "Pie in the Sky"and it no longer existed... I was bummed... another establishment bit the dust... the Pie in the Sky lady no more.... until today... I kept yelping "food", "burgers", "restaurants" for Rock Creek Lake... nothing... Ineresting Rock Creek Lakes Resort came up... okay, let's look at pictures... hey, Twin Lakes Resort has a good place to eat... even Convict Lake has a nice place to eat... there were some pictures of food... hmmmmm... pulled pork sandwiches? After further investigation, I checked out their website... they got smoked meat? Really... no pics, no menu... even on Yelp... nada... No matter... I will Google maps it and see where this lodge is at... wouldn't you know when I got there it was the Pie in the Sky location... so I dropped everybody off to try their breakfast first... sorry, no picture of the breakfast because I started talking to a long time customer, whose daughter even worked there... she told me the history of Pie in the Sky and told me that their daughter and son in law took over the business... and the Pie in the Sky lady, the daughter's mom still bakes the cobbler... and another daughter in law now bakes the pies... and the son in law built and manages the smoker in the back... she told me to take pictures of the smoker... so I left my bar stool and went out to the back... sure enough Steve, the Pit Master and owner was prepping the brisket and his smoker was getting ready... I asked him what kind of wood they use and he told me they get almond logs locally... very cool... He informed me they make their own BBQ sauce right there... wow... no ribs today, but maybe tomorrow... and today he wanted to roast some corn in the little smoker... after talking I went back in and started talking to the lady customer again... completely forgot to take a picture of my breakfast... I remember the bacon was delicious... and noticed she had French toast... next time... it was too early to buy the BBQ and the pies, so I needed to return at 10:30 when they sell them... at 11:00 my wife and nephew were done fishing and decided to go with me... we came back and I order all the meat available to try... the brisket meal which came with chili and coleslaw... the pulled pork with the same sides and 1/4 pound of Tri Tip... and finding out that the Pie Lady made the cobbler I ordered the peach and berry cobbler along with the Coconut Cream Pie and the Lemon Cream Pie... Finding out that Pie in the Sky never left and was now taken over by family made me very very happy... I took a lot of pics with explanations with scores on all the food... My big surprise was the chili and the lemon cream pie... both got a 10/10... A big thanks to the daughter and son in law taking over the parents business... not only taking it over but making really awesome changes without sacrificing the love and charm of Pie in the Sky... it's cool because Mom and Dad still come around and help out with the business... Oh... here's another interesting thing... I asked Steve if he wanted me to make a Yelp for the restaurant and he said he has one up... It's called, Miller and Son's BBQ Sauce Brewing... when I went to their site there was no reviews no pics... so I was the first to put pics on the site... now I will go there and write another review at that site... so there you go... Pie in the Sky is now Miller and Son's BBQ Sauce Brewing... and I did go home with both the Original and the Velvet (tinge of coffee flavor) both are delicious and I will put that on my slow cooked meat... hahahaha... no offset though just a Traeger... Hoping more people who loved Pie in the Sky will find it again!

Wrong choice. I thought I'll just grab something I can heat up in the morning in the microwave. Yeah, there is none. So the $ difference is lost. It's also an older building, there are no ramps or elevators to enter the building or 2nd floor. It's also noisy. Between the noise from the hallway to the busy and the cars outside I'm not sure which was louder. Room was clear and tidy, but design choices left a lot to be desired. There were no doors on the sink vanity and it just looked like someone took the doors off and forgot to put them back on. The closet in the corner was right next to the bedside table so it cramped and we had small bags.
