Ordered three delivery pho last night. They were so very disappointing. The toppings were sparse to non-existant. There were maybe 5 bits of green onion, zero white onion, a sparse amount of tired bean sprouts, and a small sprig of aging basil in all three There may have been some cilantro there, maybe a teeny sprig. We don't need a lot of meat so the sparse amount didn't bother us, except once was supposed to be well done and got rare. The broth was bland. I've had their pho often. It varies in quality. Had to try this place been on my todo for a while. Had dinner last night. This was so good. I have mine at level 3 on the spice scale and it was perfect. I had a sudden craving for pho today so my husband was nice enough to find a pho shop near our house without having to drive to duluth. Location: it's in downtown athens, I think which which used to be here and another bahmi place used to be here.. restaurants here don't seem to stay fo r long.. but we parked on a meter outside of cvs and walked to the restaurant.. right when we crossed the street I immediately smelled pho broth!! Got me excited! They head seating outdoors and some inside.. they weren't so friendly but I think it's just because of how asian people are?? Maybe?? But we sat inside and we're given menus.. the werid thing about the menus is they had chopsticks on the outside of the menu.. so we immediately thought okay.. I guess this is ours.. and of course it was not sanitary! But the lady came later to take our order and said it was used only for decor.. (we giggled and laughed bc it was embarrassing) We ordered just a p1 pho large and a mango slush with boba.. the meal came after awhile not too long and we received our food. The pho was enough but compared to the pho is duluth portion and the meat was small.. the broth was good. The boba tea not so good.. it tasted like real fruit which was good but it just didn't taste right.. Overall I don't think I'd come again. I would rather make my way out to duluth for pho.. but if your a college student or just in the area and want pho it's not bad here. read more

Food was delicious and fresh, the menu is extensive- a bit hard to appreciate the menu on the QR reader, the fonts are small and there are lots of choices. The space is small, great location, on street parking (right across the street from campus so parking is a challenge). You walk in through the courtyard and order at the counter - masking required, the staff immediately asked us to wear a mask, we maneuvered the menu, order delicious pho and bun bowl to go. We were so pleased with the gracious, friendly service and delicious Vietnamese food at Mother Pho. We were visiting Athens and thinking of dining, when Mother Pho's quaint outdoor patio and cute sign caught our eye. We ordered the Mother Pho Special bowl, Satay Chicken and Summer Rolls. The food was fresh and excellent, the facilities neat and clean, and the family running Mother Pho are thoughtful and friendly. This was a perfect casual dining experience for us. 3 stars for taste/price: I've heard great things about Mother Pho. I think it is comparable to what you can get in Duluth and better than Just Pho. I ordered a large Pho Tai for $10.50. The noodles are salted and the soup is a bit on the saltier side.I personally enjoy my food saltier, but since the noodles are salted, I would've added a dash of water to balance it out. Overall, many of the entrees are a bit pricey compared to other places I've been to. Plus, even after eating their large pho, I could probably eat an appetizer and dessert. As for prices, regular pho is $9.50, extra noodles is $1.99, banh mi is $5.99, rice plates range from $9.99 to $12.99, boba drinks are $4.29. 1 star for service: I understand that they opened recently and are still getting the hang of things, but they seriously need to hire more help because the restaurant wasn't even full. There is one girl running the cash register and one guy who runs food to tables. The same girl running the cash register also takes orders. It took my SO and I about 20 minutes to get our order in, and another 10 to get our water and food. We ordered two phos and didn't think it should've taken the amount of time that it did. read more

The food was just okay the one time I went there, but "Just Pho" had much better food imo. The staff seemed a little crabby, but I didn't take it personally. My biggest issue was that some of my Chinese friends were treated badly by the either the owner or a manager there when they went. They were really rude to my friends. My friend who brought it up is usually one to give everyone the benefit of the doubt, because she's worked at restaurants before, but she was really frustrated when she told me about it. Not sure if it was about race or just someone being rude, but it isn't a good look. Been here twice so far with my friend during late lunches and haven't had a problem with the service. It's your typical Vietnamese pho place but golly it's expensive and they don't give you that much for the price. The quality is perfectly fine but I'm not sure if I'm willing to go out of my way for $10 medium bowl when I can swing by some other place that'll give me twice as much food. That being said, while Mother Pho isn't the best Pho restaurant I've experienced, it does the job with a smile. Mother Pho is run by an incredibly warm and lovely family. The rice places, the vermicelli bowls, and the titular pho are all serviceable. The banh mi is better than the other place in town but could be better with the inclusion of a classic headcheese banh mi. First of all, people here need to shower. All of their hair is greasy as hell and I can't bare the thought of them touching my food with those greasy hands! I agree that they treat non-Whites differently than White people. So if you're White, you'll probably be treated nicely. Otherwise, get used to rudeness if you decide to come here. Food is decent but definitely not worth the price I was paying for. The banh mi here costs twice as much as the ones at Duluth/Buford locations, and a little smaller too. The meat was a little too salty, but everything else on the sandwich was fine. I loved how the jalepenos are chopped thinly so you get a slight kick from each bite of the sandwich. More places should do this to be honest. The vietnamese spring rolls tasted fine, but didn't have enough shrimp for what you were paying for. This place is a joke... with so many great Asian options in just the downtown area do yourself a favor and keep walking. I ordered the crispy mango fish with jasmine rice and what I received after paying $14 was utterly disappointing. It was a deep fried piece of cheap tilapia not even cut up in chunks like you'd expect with a drizzle of orange mayo sauce that had no resemblance of mango taste. It was served with a bed of raw veggies that didn't compliment the dish at all and the "jasmine" rice was definitely not anything but a cheap clumpy rice tasting like it was in the rice cooker for days. The only place around Athens to get some pho. The services are okay and the food is good, but bit overpriced for the amount of food you get. I still go here when I crave pho or bahn mi. Great pho to go! We ordered Pho Tofu (beef broth with tofu and veggies) and Pho Tau Gau (rare beef and brisket).
