Loved my lemongrass chicken, cold noodle salad. Really good. My server was sweet, the owner was nice. My complaints are the powdery bubble tea that was watered down, that they served me. The bobba had not been soaked in anything sweet, but water. Also was still way too chewy. Bobba needs to be soaked/marinated in either raw sugar and water or honey, heck even almond milk works, for at least 6 hrs. Otherwise it tastes like I'm chewing on the insides of a silica packet. Also extremely high pho prices. I've never paid more than $8 for a small bowl of pho in the state of Georgia and the small feels like a medium to me bc I'm a pettite person. Bc this is right across the street from uga I guess they can do that. Not all college kids are rich though. If you're average like the rest of us go to just pho and more. Not very welcoming Asian customers. I go there fairly often. When I go with my American colleagues, the guy was always warm and smiling. When I go alone, he doesn't even want to greet me or answer my questions. The pho is good and fresh though. That's why I still give them 3 stars. read more

A L pho here is $10.50 compared to a L Pho in Norcross for only $8.50, the price is already up there. The herbs were turning brown, and the rest wasn't fresh either. My bowl of Pho contained 4 pieces of meat and the pho noodles, I had to separate with some strength because they were stuck into one big piece. The broth was very sweet, too sweet to my liking and didn't had that authentic pho taste. As I got closer to finishing the bowl, I felt hard noodles stuck to the bowl. This can only happen when they don't wash off the bowl well and dry it in the dishwasher untill it hardens. I was disgusted. We were charmed by the courtyard to this place--and even more charmed by the food. The summer rolls were light and flavorful, the pho rich and filling. Pho soup is very tasty and not too oily like most restaurants. My friends and I could not decide between the summer rolls and crispy spring rolls so we got both and they were both really good! During the school year this place can get packed, but the workers here make sure to accommodate everyone with great service. When I'm craving a home cooked meal I come here since fast food can get gross fast. read more

Was very excited to try this place out because I've read and heard many wonderful things about this place. Didn't have much time to leave the house so I ordered it through a delivery service instead. Ordered the Mother Pho Special. When you order delivery you obviously get the broth in one container and the veggies, meats, and noodles in another container. After struggling to put it together I realized how few pieces of meat there were compared to the amount of noodles and onions there were. Was not very pleased with the meal at all and definitely did not live up to my expectations. I'm not going to give this place a terrible rating yet though. I'll give them the benefit of the doubt and try it at their actual restaurant first and would advise everyone else to do so. read more

New Vietnamese place, same location as the last two(!). This one has a slightly expanded menu as compared to the last two. I've eaten two meals there: one was, if I remember correctly, the shaking beef, quite unremarkable; the other dish is a curry dish with chicken. It comes with some big chunks of carrot and potato. It was pretty good, filling enough and slightly cheaper than the lesser curries at Thai Spoon. I'll probably give their sandwich a try sometime. Mother Pho....it's spring time. They have a patio! Score. I automatically find myself liking this place. Then I walk inside and it's spotless, with friendly people working? Ummmm, yes. Yes please. Pretty standard menu, I love that I can get all of my favorites though, and I really love that they have pho and bahn mi! Yay!!! So I opted for the mother pho special and substituted my meatball for tripe. Pretty generous portion. Broth was "clean" not super savory but decent. My meat was def not medium rare, but somehow all mostly cooked and I really couldn't detect any tendon. There were a few strands of tripe mixed in as well. Despite all of this, it wasn't a bad bowl of pho and the portions were generous. I would come back. My friend got a tamer bowl, maybe with beef and brisket and based on how much of his bowl I could see at the end, he really really enjoyed it! I saw lots of yummy looking things coming out of the kitchen including some amazing looking something served in a clay pot. Clearly, I have lots of exploring to do on this menu. read more

I am a big fan of Vietnamese cuisine and have been having vietnamese food all around the San Francisco bay area, which is the top in the nation for asian food. This place delivers a consistently good pho, which is what I order at all times. Also they feature Ban Xiao (vietnamese crepe, no eggs involved) , which is not granted in many of the small vietnamese joints. Thanks for my Vietnamese fix!! read more

I normally love Mother Pho - it's always fresh, and I order the same dish with the same level of spice every time. Last time, it was so spicy, my mouth was burning...told the server and cook & the response was "sorry, we use same level of focus every time. Must be because we opened new jar"- no offer to replace, or even give me something bland when my face and lips were clearly inflamed from extra spice. Family went last night & while portions have steadily decreased, last night was really not even enough for a meal. I hope Mother Pho will be able to stick around & do some quality control because it really is one of my favorites! But for now I will only visit occasionally instead of 2-3 times per month. read more

DO NOT GO HERE Fly in soup. Appalling customer service. Mediocre food Food is very average, nothing special. For some reason they think they can charge 10$ for a smaller bowl of very average pho. On top of this the customer service was frustrating. I found a fly, in the bottom of my soup, which was completely contorted almost to a point where I wouldn't have been able to recognize it as a fly. It had clearly been there the entire time. I send it back, and then the manager comes out and starts to blame me for the fly being there saying that I mixed it in the soup my self and deems this unlikely possibility as enough basis to not refund me for my meal. I explain to him that it was at the bottom and that I would have noticed if a fly flew directly in front of me while I was mixing my soup (I shouldn't even have to be defending myself..) He continued to argue that it wasn't the restaurants fault and that there was no way that I was going to get any compensation off of him treating me as if I was some con man trying to get a free meal. I didn't want to waste my time, so I just simply asked if he thought what he was doing was good customer service. He took a moment to think and shakily replied "yes" So all in all, I paid 10$ and some change for fly soup. I would recommend Just Pho if you are in the Athens area at 1063 Baxter St. - update 5/12/18 My friend went here despite my warnings. I ate here when it was yummy phö and it was great. The prices weren't too shabby and the bubble tea was delicious. Now after they got rebought. The prices sky rocketed and the only thing that doesn't suck is the phö of course. Everything else did. Who wants to pay damn near $6 for a MEDIUM cup of bubble tea. When I can walk to 180 F cafe for a bigger cup for less and the boba is always good. The prices are my biggest issue here. Come if you are willing to spend $20 per person. (Update) now the phö tastes packaged like instant ramen. They are cheating out of money, I've bought the house special this time consultant of all the meats Available....only got about two of each and one small peice of tendon. 4 meats total by the way. Let me start off by saying this is the only place I've had pho from so I have nothing to compare it to. However, I thought the pho was pretty good. I've been three times and have ordered the vegetable tofu pho each time and have always finished every last drop! Their spring rolls are also yummy especially with the peanut sauce served with it. I come here at least once a week, I really enjoy the environment and the service is quick. The grill BBQ pork springrolls are really fresh and reasonable size. Banh Mi are always crispy and delicious!! Pho is great, I only wish they could have small bowls size available since they only do regular and large size. If there is any chance for me to give a negative rating, I will do that without hesitation! They served us with moldy and rotten vegetables today for the pho noodle soup. There was clearly mold on the basil leaves when the server put the veggie plate in front of us. We called them to point out the mold, and guess what was their responses. "This is all what we got. All the basils we have here is like this!" I can't even believe my ears. This was the worst ever service I have gotten in my whole life. And the server just walked away. He could have replaced a new veggie plate without the rotten basil if they knew they were short at it. Why putting moldy veggie in front of their guests and refused to try anything to make it up? I can't believe this restaurant can still survive in a nice town as Athens. I have been living here for seven years and never had such a bad dining experience. A great restaurant in town! Excellent food, attentive and friendly servers, fast service, clean restaurant. The pho broth has rich, full flavors which, of course, makes the dish everything it is! They do have Vietnamese iced coffee which I do recommend. Seating both indoors and outdoors, and outdoors has shade cover. Parking on the street is limited so look for a spot in the ramp nearby. read more

So far, so good. Chicken Banh Mi exceptionally better than the previous incarnation (Yummy Pho)--packed full of nicely pickled daikon amd carrot. And there is pate with a smoky taste to it: lovely. Could use a little more. Chicken is well marinated, succulent, nicely charred. Menu includes a mouth-watering Papaya Salad which I will try next time. In general the prices seem a bit high for a campus lunch spot (one is certainly not paying for ambience or decor!) but the menu is more authentic than Yummy Pho and I look forward to sampling more things. read more
