This shop then referred me to another shop that was "more capable of doing the repairs." The second shop also quoted up to $6,000 for the repair work. So, I took the car to a BMW dealer, and they fixed it for roughly $200. Most of the issues that this shop said were the cause of a lack of cooling did not exist, according to the BMW mechanic. As a twenty-something-year-old female that doesn't know much about cars, I feel like I was being taken advantage of...by both shops. It feels like there was collusion happening, and I'm glad that I did not agree to have the car repaired by either shop.
