I'm in this area often and I love a good pizza slice. Today I finally decided to try it after getting my hair done. As soon as I walked in, I was greeted by a nice man making pizzas and another that shared information about their lunch specials. I think their pizza slice, soda and salad was a nice deal for about $10 but I only ordered a pizza slice and a drink. I waited about 5 minutes until my order was ready. Ate in the car and wow, that pizza was really good. Thin and crispy. It felt like what I believe to be a true NY style pizza. I'll return with my kid that loves pizza. Everything was going lovely until I walked into this place. Ghana was tied with England, the moment called for pizza, and my wife called in a pie. When I went to pick it up at the Delmar location, the kid behind the counter informed me that my wife had ordered from the wrong location--the one in St. Charles. Knowing that a 35-minute drive meant missing the second half of the game, I tried to pivot to basic human commerce: "Oh shit, okay. Well, can I just order a pie here?" What followed was a dialogue so fiercely committed to stupidity: The Clerk: "Na, you gotta get her to cancel the Uber Eats first then order again, cause my boss will fire me." Me: "No, I'm saying that I will order a pie under a different name and card. Like me being a separate person." The Clerk: "Na, I can get fired for that." Me: "I'm literally a different person ordering a pie." The Clerk: "I'm not gonna serve you until you cancel that order." Me: "That's ridiculous. You lost my business." The Clerk: "Good, cause we got plenty more people." These morons could have easily taken advantage of the situation. They had an opportunity to let me buy a pizza right then and there, helping La Pizza double their profit on a single order. Instead, they preferred to show off their small-minded egos and protect a bizarre, imaginary rulebook. I will never know what the pizza tastes like, and honestly, I don't care. I have rarely encountered a bunch of such aggressively rude morons, and IM FROM THE BX!!!! Def not ordering from this place again. read more

I'm sure the salads or calzones are great too but the you want the quintessential NY slice this is the only place in St. Louis and now St Charles to get slice. Hands down my favorite pizza in St. louis! LaPizza is a small spot that packs a punch. Hardly any seating inside, but that doesn't matter. It's that good. I'm a fan of the plain cheese pizza. Perfect sauce to cheese ratio, and NY style crust! reminds me of my east coast travels! My boyfriend is a Jersey native and gives this place the stamp of approval! When we come to get our order, the guys working are always very nice! They always ask if we want any parmesan or chili flakes which is thoughtful. Even though this place is 25 min from my house... very worth it! My ONLY problem is they no longer sell slices! That would make lunch stops much easier if you don't want a whole pizza. My coworker was telling me about this place this morning. My coworker is from New York so when she told me this tastes like New York Pizza, I was sold and wanted to try this place after work today. I love pizza and have tried several pizza places when I visited New York a while back. I decided to get the 18" Roberto specialty pizza , large garden salad and cheese garlic bread. Yeah.....Best pizza in the Lou. The cheese here is just so high quality that it sets a bar above the rest. Yes, Pie Guy & Pizzeria de Gloria are great. But La Pizza has a taste that is different and very similar to a NYC style. I would know, I spent 13 years there lol. Highly recommend eating in store or having a slice in the car before you pull out of the lot. Pizza changes inside a box and this pizza piping hot is the only way to go. Call to schedule a pickup. We called ahead for our order because my husband had a bad experience on a Friday night when he walked in at 5:30 and was told his pizza would not be ready until 8pm. My only complaint is I walked in off the street to place an order and they seemed like I was bothering them. Even people I know who (purportedly) dislike pizza, loved this one. It's a no-nonsense, charming place that reminds me of the pizza joints you see in movies.
